The place was about an hour away from Honolulu but that wasn't problem. The website said to be there 30 min early and we were but the horse handlers said that wasn't neccessary. They were short handed and we ended up waiting more than an hour to ride but the place was majestic so we weren't bothered by the wait. The guides prepared us and were concerned about everyones safety. The ride was perfect. They guides were professional and took time to take our pictures while we were on the beach. I would do it again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Hawaii.. It was a great family experience.

My family and I enjoy horseback riding but this one was not up to par. I booked a private lesson and was told we would be able to do more with the horses beside just walking them and also would not be a nose to tail ride but that's exactly what it was. We were told many things but none were true. A couple of the horses did not like having another horse so close to it's tail so they would constantly kick backwards. You're only on the beach for a short time to cross to the dusty path were you spend most of the time until you cross back over the beach to go back to the club. Our guide was also an unpleasant women who never spoke unless it was to tell us what we were doing wrong. It was definetely not worth the money we spent and would not go back.

This time, we chose Hawaii, a memorable place for our family's first trip, and signed up for this tour.
It was my first time here as well, but the guide was very accommodating, and we had a great time. The kids said, "It doesn't feel like we're in a foreign country" in Waikiki, but they were thrilled to say that this tour "feels like we're in a foreign country" (laughs). At first, they were nervous, but when we returned to the hotel, they were excitedly talking about the show.
Compared to the Polynesian Cultural Center, it's smaller and has fewer attractions, but that allowed us to enjoy it at a more leisurely pace, which was nice.
Thank you very much.

The luau was good. The only thing I would suggest is to not have the people waiting outside so before getting on the bus. The temperature outside was already hot and then the heat from the bus's engine made it worst. We waited outside the bus for 45 minutes before we could get on.

Horseback riding has always been a really fun pastime for me, and I especially thought after seeing the ad on your site that this particular ride seemed different and unique. And it was!
The horses themselves are polo horses....and wow...are they beautiful. Very different from most ranch horses i have seen...and the ride itself...all I have ever been on have been on ranches along dusty trails or in the woods...THIS WAS ON THE BEACH...RIGHT BY THE WATER...IN HAWAII!! I honestly think I don't need to say anymore! On the beach...in Hawaii!

I choose this horsebackriding venue because of the website which stated they are not your typical trail ride. According to the ad we would not be riding nose to tail - that's exactly what we had to do--- also the ad stated we would be free to ride the horses to our ability-absolutely not, we were not allowed out of the line or to go faster than a walk or to go ahead of the guide-who was a most unpleasant woman. Also the beach part of the ride was very limited. The only high marks I give are to the horses!! They were not your typical trail horses. Overall I was disappointed, especially considering the high cost.

OK, there was a pod of 200 dolphins swimming all around our boat - which was a trip, sunset views were awesome - you won't see a sunset like this one in Waikiki, believe me I went one TWO sailing trips in Waikiki last week, which were great too ... but on this trip we actually saw the sun slip away behind the ocean horizon. The crew was so friendly and chill and accommodating ... no pressure ... no trying to shamelessly sell you stuff, actually, Captain Patrick shared all the free stuff to do along the coast, we saw the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean and the new Disney hotel too. The snorkeling was great! The food was simple and healthy and tasty! Yum! I understand that this is a newer tour so we only had about 18 people on a 49 capacity boat .... so lots of room to stretch out and get some tanning done. Thank you all at the Ocean Joy for such an amazing experience! We will be back the Kai oli oli again!!

Sunset Dinner Cruise, Cocktails, Dancing.. what a fun night! Let me tell you, seeing a sunset in Hawaii is wonderful but seeing it from the ocean, its like a paint brush painted the skies for the evening. Perfect for that special romantic moment with your loved one!
Unfortunately, I did not see the mystical green flash, but we did see several dolphins and the sunset over the water, magical!
Staff was very attentive and came by my dinner table through out the evening to make sure I was taken care of. Everyone on-board participated in the dancing. Thank you so much for a wonderful Sunset Dinner Cruise!

Then everyone gathers in the Imu Stadium where you see the unveiling of the slow cooked wrapped in Ti leaves, Kahlua Pig from the pit. Then they sit you down for a delicious luau feast. My new husband and I booked a private ride with the Hawaii Polo Club while on our honeymoon. I've been on several other guided horseback trail rides in the past, but this was a little different. For one thing, the horses are actually polo-horses, not the standard "follow-the-leader" horses of a typical ranch. Because of this, you are better off if you have at least a little experience in handling horses. There were a few times that loud noises or unfamiliar things on the path caused some skittishness.
One thing that made me a little uncomfortable was that my activity voucher said we would need to sign a liability waiver before the ride. I assume this is a standard practice, but the staff at the club just saddled up our horses, and off we went. No forms, no waivers, they didnt even tell us their names, nor did they ask ours. Good thing (for them) our slightly skittish horses didnt dump us on our heads.

There were a lot of lines all night. From the moment we met the bus until the moment we got off. We had to wait to get in but fortunately a beverage was provided in that one. We had children who wanted to do many of the activities and they made sure you didn't miss them with a load conch call. This brought a huge crowd to see each event. My kids would not let us miss one. The bummer was the cove and location was beautiful and we didn't get a moment to take it all in as a family because one of us was in line the entire time. You should know that dinner is not served until after 7pm so make sure you have a late lunch. I wish I would of known that. Show was great but the many costume changes meant many slow intermission like moments all night. Not my favorite night.

Two items, the evening seemed rushed, there was not enough time between activities to truely enjoy the evening - our bus arrived, dropped us off, and the race was on... we did not get to participate in all of the pre-show activities. The second was the food was okay, but not what I would consider great - which is why the value rating dropped to so-so.

I had made a reservation at the beginning of March, right on Tsunami Day, but there was no contact at all, and it was canceled. I ended up waiting for over an hour at the pickup location while continuously trying to call (but couldn't get through), which was a disaster. Thanks to Alan's efforts, I was able to participate the next day, but everything before the show (like tree climbing and canoeing), the show itself, and the meals were all quite mediocre... It felt lacking in focus, or perhaps just scattered... I was looking forward to the hula, but the hula at the Tokiwa Hawaiian Center was much better... The negative impression might also be because it was extremely cold... The seaside location is a selling point, but that also means the wind is strong, and it got quite chilly once the sun went down. I won't be going again, but for those who do, I recommend being well-prepared for the cold depending on the season.

I had a great time at Hawaii Polo ride! I've been on a horse before at a different commercial ranch, so I wasn't expecting much. Usually the horses are pretty worn down, tired and boring. Oh boy, this wasn't the case at all. All the horses at Hawaii Polo Club are well trained professional polo horses, so they are young, strong, muscular and ready to trot. They are just gorgeous to look at!
Even the guide from Argentine was a professional polo player/trainer, so he knew all about the horses. (I didn't know that Argentine was the capital of polo!) He explained to us what to do and what not to do with the horse. I was a bit nervous first since the horse was a professional polo horse, and you know what they say about how the horse can feel your fear! But the guide made me feel relaxed, and I definitely enjoy the ride on the beautiful beach on North Shore.
This is highly recommended! Very romantic for couples for sure.

We participated as a family.
Instead of taking a bus tour, we headed to the venue by rental car, but we ended up being late due to traffic on both the local roads and the highway. Although my English is not very good, I wanted to inform them that we would be arriving late, so I tried calling and was able to speak with a staff member who understood Japanese. We were about an hour late, but we were able to enter the venue without any issues.
As I read in other experiences, there were no other Japanese people besides us. Most of the men were wearing aloha shirts, and the women were in muumuu dresses.
Before the show started, there was an introduction to the traditional culture of the islands, and the atmosphere gradually built up. Around 6:30 PM, the Hawaiian band started performing on the stone bench stage, followed by dance performances and a presentation of the food. At 7:00 PM, we enjoyed a buffet dinner while the main stage show began. The singing, dancing, and fire show were all wonderful, and we truly enjoyed Hawaii. After the powerful Polynesian dance, those who wanted to join went up on stage and danced energetically, which was very entertaining.
The food was not very tasty. As someone who struggles with English, I wondered what the delicious-looking drink with fruit that others were having was, but I couldn't figure it out from the drink menu, so I ended up ordering a Corona beer. I had some drink tickets left over.
Despite the language barrier, it was a very satisfying experience, and my whole family had a great time. I definitely want to participate again on our next trip, but this time I would like to join a bus tour. I heard that there is heavy traffic in the evenings, so I recommend that those driving allow plenty of time before departure.
