At first, I was planning to use a buggy, but after referencing YouTube videos, I chose the e-bike tour. This tour, where you ride through nature and feel the wind while visiting various movie filming locations, is fantastic! The electric assist has a bit of a quirk, but you get used to it quickly, and it makes climbing hills easy and enjoyable. I participated in a beginner-level plan with shuttle service. There is a bus to Kualoa Ranch, and at the information desk, there are Japanese staff or staff who can speak Japanese.

When you arrive at Kualoa Ranch, the Japanese staff will instruct Japanese participants to gather together. Once gathered, they will explain the basic flow and locations in Japanese, so there’s nothing to worry about.

There were no Japanese-speaking staff on the return bus. It was initially sunny at Kualoa Ranch, but it gradually became cloudy.

The bus driver was informative and punctual, the bus was very clean. The Ranch was very well organised and impressive. The 3hr Bike Tour looked great, the bikes well suited and Safety Video succinct....However, for us that's when it all went down hill.
TIP - Read the fine print. Elite 3hr Bike Tour is for Intermediate+ mountain bike riders familiar with E-bikes. We are a couple of middle aged Australian tourists and failed the obstacle test. Ive ridden Road Bikes for 30yrs and a strong rider, my wife is a strong runner and has limited cycling skills. This meant we couldn't participate in the 3hr Tour and there was no refund and the bus departed at 1300. Would I book again - YES. But we would do the Novice 2hr ride (-:

We participated as a group of six, including family members. The children, who are university and high school students, are all above middle school age and can ride a bicycle normally. Although we had no experience with mountain biking, we thought it would be fine since it was a beginner course. However, since it was our first time using electric assist, the sensation of acceleration and control felt somewhat different from a regular bicycle, which made us anxious from the start. Just when we thought we managed to start, within five minutes, two of the children were asked to leave, and since we couldn't leave two minors waiting in a foreign land, the parents had no choice but to leave as well. The remaining three of us continued, but ultimately, after about 15 minutes, my middle school son was also asked to leave, and only my husband and the university student completed the course. There was no alternative plan, no partial refunds, and it was a tourist facility that only operates as an experience facility, leaving us just waiting for the other members to finish. We missed the highlights of the movie we wanted to see... and it cost nearly 20,000 yen per person. I hope they recognize that the fee is a reflection of the service provided. It's disappointing that they think presenting a cancellation policy will alleviate complaints. The participation criteria are low, yet the riding standards they require are high.

料金はサービスに対する対価であることを認識して欲しいです。キャンセルポリシーを提示しておけば、コンプレを押さえれると思ってること事が残念すぎます。参加基準が低い割に、求める乗車基準が高いです。

I participated in the E-bike tour again this time. This is a repeat from last year. The guide was very kind and attentive. One slight disappointment was that it was crowded, and the spots often overlapped with jeep tours and bus tours. Last time it was less crowded, so it was more comfortable. 1. Don't be mistaken thinking it's a small tour. They pick you up with two large buses from hotels in Honolulu. I think many people participate because there are various activities. Even though I waited quite early in the lobby at the pickup location, the guide didn't come. It seemed I had to go to the bus myself. After some time, the bus driver came, possibly having kept other guests waiting. Also, it's important to note that you need an English ID with a photo. Without a passport, you might face strict cancellation. A Japanese driver's license won't work. Since I didn't have one, I somehow managed to get on the bus with just my name and credit card. Although it feels uncomfortable to carry a passport, it seems to be the best option.

2. Even if it's sunny in Honolulu, it started to rain quite heavily in the northern Kualoa Ranch. I think the moist sea breeze from the north hits the mountains, making it prone to rain. It was fine at first, but then it turned into a downpour. If I had known, I would have brought rain gear... I got completely soaked and cold, and ended up buying a T-shirt and shorts on the way back. The mud splattered, making my shoes and clothes dirty. When I returned to the hotel, I washed what I was wearing. It's better not to wear nice shirts. Even if it's sunny in Honolulu, make sure to bring a change of clothes.

3. Most people are probably not used to electric bikes. You pedal, and while it's easy on hills with turbo mode, going downhill can be too fast if you don't change the setting. 様々なアクティビティがあるから、たくさんの人が参加するのだと思う。
ずいぶん早くピックアップ場所のロビーで待っていても、ガイドは来てくれませんでした。
バスのところに行かなければならなかったようです。時間がたってから、たまりかねてバスの運転手がやってきて、他のお客さんを待たせたかも。
また、大事なのは、顔写真が映った英語のIDが必要です。
パスポートがないと厳しくキャンセルになるかも。
日本の免許証ではだめ。
持ってなかったので、名前とクレジットカードで何とかバスに乗れた。
パスポートを持っていくのは、気が引けるけど、それが一番らしい。

２．ホノルルが晴れていても、北のクアロア・ランチは、途中からかなり強い雨が降りだした。
湿った北からの海風が山にぶつかってお雨が降りやすいのだと思う。
最初はよかったけれど、途中から土砂降り。わかっていれば、雨具を持っていくけど・・・
ずぶ濡れになって、寒く、帰りにTシャツと半ズボンを購入した。
泥が跳ねて、靴も服も汚れる。ホテルに帰って、来ていたものを洗った。
いいシャツは着ていかないほうがいい。ホノルルが晴れていても、着替えを持っていくこと。

３、電動自転車は、おそらく大部分の人は慣れていない。こぐのだけど、坂道はターボで楽ちんだけど、下りは、設定を変えないとスピードが出すぎる。太いタイヤだけど、砂利道が多く、運転しにくい。
実際、下りで転倒した人がいた。血だらけになっていたが、実際は手掌に結構な傷ができていた。おそらく、ターボのままで下って、スピードが出すぎたのだと思う。病院での縫合が必要そうな傷だった。
途中でリタイヤとなり、迎えの車が必要で、皆雨の中、待機することになった。
スピードを出しすぎない慎重な運転が必要！
せっかくの旅行が・・・

４、雄大な景観は、忘れがたい思い出になります。
たくさんの映画の舞台になっています。
スタッフもとてもフレンドリーで、お勧めです。

ただし、初心者コースの自転車ツアーと思って甘く見ないこと・・・・

This is my second time visiting Kualoa Ranch. Last time, I participated in a 4WD tour. While it might be fun for the driver, I felt that the passengers didn't have as much excitement. This time, I joined a tour on an E-Mountain Bike, which involved riding electric bicycles. It was a self-guided tour where we explored various locations, including movie filming sites, and the exhilaration of riding through nature was fantastic. I had a great time talking with the guides. The location descriptions were easy to understand, and even though it was in English, I was able to comprehend it using a translation app on my smartphone. The views were from places I had never seen before, so it was nice to discover new things in addition to familiar spots. The road was bumpy, so I had to be careful, but I enjoyed the downhill ride. The weather was also great, which made it perfect!

There were 4 adults in our group. The novice tour was fantastic. Joe was our tour guide and she was awesome! She made sure we were comfortable before taking off. Explaining every step of the way. Very knowledgeable of the area. There were a couple of challenges along the way (we had never ridden e-bikes before) but it was exactly what I had expected as far as the bike ride went and the tour was even better. If you are a movie buff or just want to see the views it is a great all around. Highly recommend the novice e-bike tour.

My parents (in their 50s) and my three siblings (in their 20s) signed up for the advanced course. At first, we rode the trial course as an aptitude test before the departure. The bicycles were special, with large tires, so it took us some time to get used to them. I have experienced five tours at Kualoa Ranch. I took the movie bus twice, went horseback riding, and did zip-lining. I highly recommend it. You can enjoy the scenery and points at a more leisurely pace compared to the bus tour. If you can ride a bike, you can move around effortlessly with the electric assist, which reduces fatigue and keeps you clean. I definitely want to participate again on my next trip with my nieces and nephews, but I'm only worried about the rain.

2時間のツアー後、施設内でランチ&お土産チェックをしてから13:00のバスで帰路に。施設内には散策や時間潰せるような設備はほぼないため、今回の予約時間がベストタイムと思う。
なお施設内ではJCBが使えないので要注意。

The guide's leading on the bike was considerate of the entire group, allowing everyone to enjoy without feeling rushed. Along the way, we visited many movie filming locations, but aside from Jurassic Park, I hadn't seen any of them before. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had done some research beforehand. That said, we were blessed with good weather, and riding the e-mountain bike through the great outdoors was incredibly fun and amazing.

The female instructor was friendly and supportive, making the tour very enjoyable. At several points, we were able to take photos, and we took breaks to avoid getting tired, which was reassuring. By pedaling and moving around myself, I was able to truly appreciate the vastness of Kualoa. Along the way, we also visited a tunnel where panels introduced the movies filmed at Kualoa. Riding through the wind felt absolutely amazing! Since it was equipped with electric assist, I was able to glide along effortlessly without any strain at all. It was great that we stopped at several scenic spots for photo opportunities and took our time. Although I couldn't communicate in Japanese, I appreciated the guide's thoughtfulness in using Google Translate to help us. I also felt reassured knowing that the helmets were disinfected after use.

The weather in the mountains can change quickly, so after it rained, the ground became slippery, and I saw a few people fall, but the others around and the guide were very kind and helped them. At the end, I even received a Band-Aid. The rear tire of the mountain bike splashes mud, so my back got dirty. I think it's best to wear clothes that can get dirty and have a bag that can also handle some mud. Next time, I want to try zip-lining!

However, the guide was kind, and since it was just the two of us, we were able to enjoy the tour at a relaxed pace! I don't fully understand all the movies, so the guide explained a lot about the origin of the name Kualoa, but I couldn't catch some parts... tears. The scenery is, of course, breathtaking and beyond imagination. However, be careful when riding on the sand as it can be slippery. I noticed a member of another team we passed had fallen and scraped their knee, but the guide had disinfectant on hand to treat them right away, so I think they were okay as long as it wasn't a serious injury.
