I participated in Mieko's SUP tour.
By chance, I was the only participant, so it turned into a private lesson. (laughs)

Coach Mieko was very clear and easy to talk to, and she provided enthusiastic guidance, so I was able to stand up on the board right away!

On the way there, the wind was strong, and I had a hard time moving forward, but the refreshing feeling when I reached the destination was quite something.

We went to a small island called Flat Island and took a lot of pictures.

I was able to fully experience the waves and wind of Hawaii.
After the SUP session, I rented a bike and headed towards Lanikai Beach, enjoying a solo trip like a local.

I highly recommend this tour! Thank you!

Standing on the board was more difficult than I expected. I fell into the sea multiple times and had to crawl back onto the board each time, which took quite a bit of energy. Moreover, the tide changed halfway through, and by the end, I was desperately paddling towards the shore.

I was able to experience SUP, which I had always wanted to try, and when I reached the shore, I was exhausted but very satisfied. It was quite hard for me, a forty-something with zero athletic ability, but my husband was able to stand up right away, so it really does come down to athleticism...

We had a blast with the tour on the Waikiki water with two kids. The location we visited had little crowds so we can have all the ocean to ourselves! Both of my kids were the first time snorkeling. Their friendly staff made sure their live vests are secured and helped them into the water. There were a lot of beautiful fishes o look at. Did not see turtles, but that's OK since we would be visiting the Turtle beach at the north shore later. Overall, we are very satisfied with the activities and services they provide.

We had the great opportunity of taking this dream tour about a mile north of the Waikiki beach where the water is much more clear than the crowded Waikiki shore. We did snorkeling, kayak, paddleboard, water slide, and whole nine yards! The water is a little rough that day, but we still had so much fun! The staff were friendly and very helpful and encourage us to try different activities. Kevin, one of the staff was very helpful to get us all buckled up in lifevests, gear up for water activities. Thank you!

According to Mieko, our coach, the conditions were excellent. It was our family's first experience, but somehow all four of us managed to stand up on the board and move! (It was a short time, though, with a wry smile.) Anyway, the weather was great, and the view of Kailua from the board was amazing!

I was a bit anxious since it was my first time. The instructor mentioned that the guidance would be in Japanese, but we were able to communicate well, so I was satisfied! Even as a beginner, the instructor helped me skillfully, and I was able to ride the waves in no time during the one-hour session. Falling off the board was not a problem at all. I definitely want to participate again!

After the lecture by the renowned instructor Mieko, I thought I had grasped the tips and headed out to the sea, underestimating how easy stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) would be. Despite the conditions being rated a 9 out of 10 with calm waves, I struggled to stand and balance at first, falling into the water multiple times and realizing how challenging it was. However, the sea was beautiful, and I felt happy to experience my first SUP in such a scenic setting, especially since participants the day before had faced high waves in the river. ✨ Although I applied sunscreen diligently, the strong sun still led to some sunburn.

After paddling mostly while sitting, I finally reached an uninhabited island where Mieko kindly explained the island's scenery and wildlife, took great photos at nice spots, and we enjoyed some conversation.

On the way back, I felt a bit more accustomed to it, and with the flow of the waves, the board moved smoothly. Thanks to Mieko's precise advice, I was able to stand and balance for longer, and it felt like I quickly returned to the beach. I wished I could have stayed out longer! I'm glad that with Mieko's guidance, I was able to stand and maneuver the board!

The recommended pizza lunch after all that effort was exceptionally delicious!

ほぼ座り漕ぎでようやく辿り着いた無人島ではミエコさんが丁寧に島の景観や生物について説明してくれたりいいスポットで写真を撮ってくれたり会話も楽しめました。

帰りは少し慣れたことと波の流れもあってボードはスムーズに進み、ミエコさんの的確なアドバイスで立ってバランスが取れる時間も長くなってあっと言う間にビーチに戻れた感覚でもっと長く乗っていたかったと思いました。
今回ミエコさんに指導して頂いたお陰で立って操作できるまでになれたのでよかったです！

頑張った後のオススメピザランチは格別に美味しかったです！

Fortunately, we had great conditions, and it took us 40 minutes to reach Popoia Island (I mostly paddled while sitting), but feeling the waves and wind all over my body while using my whole body to paddle was incredibly fun. Additionally, the numerous photos that Ms. Mieko took for us were all of the most beautiful sea and sky, and they have become treasures.
Also, when my sandals broke on the way back from the beach, I walked barefoot on the scorching asphalt while pulling the boat, and I will never forget how Ms. Mieko ran to meet me with her own sandals.
Thank you so much. I would love to do this again next time!

I participated alone on short notice this time. Mieko, who was in charge, explained how to ride the SUP very clearly and took a lot of photos, so I was able to relax and enjoy myself! Although the waves were strong and we couldn't go out to sea that day, going down the river was a great choice! I enjoyed SUP while chatting slowly among the lush greenery and trees bearing various fruits. The lunch was also amazing; the pizza was delicious. In the afternoon, I rented a bike and went to Lanikai Beach to play in the ocean. It was a very fulfilling day! Thank you, Mieko! I want to go again next time when the sea is calm!

I had wanted to try SUP for a long time, so my husband and I participated together. I was a bit anxious because we hardly exercise and I was worried about whether I could keep up with the instructor, Emiko, based on the reviews I read.

On the day of the event, it was quite windy, and we paddled while sitting to a nearby island, which took about 40 minutes. On the way back, I was able to stand on the board. I fell into the sea several times, but in the end, I managed to stand on the board and ride the waves all the way to the sandy beach.

In the end!! I was tired, but it was incredibly fun.

There were three participants that day, and two instructors accompanied us.
- The veteran instructor, Emiko, taught us strictly yet kindly. She had a big sister vibe that made her easy to approach, and I really liked her.
- Tomoki was super handsome and kind, and when I had trouble on the water, he gave me precise advice.

I thought I wouldn't be able to stand on the board, but by following their advice, I was able to do it in the end. I felt a sense of accomplishment that I hadn't felt in a while, and it was amazing.

During the free time in the morning, I rented a bike and took out pancakes from Boots & Kimo's to enjoy at Lanikai Beach. Cycling was also fun.

・ベテランインストラクターのエミコさんは厳しく&やさしく教えてくれました。姉御という感じで接しやすく大好きになりました。
・ともきさんはめちゃくちゃイケメンで、優しくて、海の上で困ったときも的確なアドレスをくれました。

ボードの上で立てないかと思いましたが、二人のアドバイスに従って最後には立つことが出来ました。
久々に達成感が得られ、最高に気持ちよかったです。

午前中の自由時間で自転車をかりてブーツアンドキモズでパンケーキをテイクアウトラニカイビーチにいきました。サイクリングも楽しかったです。

This year, I challenged myself to stand-up paddleboarding, which is quite out of character for me. Thanks to Mieko's strict yet accurate guidance (and a few laughs), I was able to reach Bopoiya Island despite falling in multiple times. I was able to take many wonderful photos from great angles, creating fun memories. I highly recommend wearing a life jacket!

On the day of participation, we received an explanation from our guide, Mieko, that it might be better to avoid going out to sea due to strong winds. As beginners, we decided to go to the river instead. The river had no waves, so we were hardly worried about falling in.

In the river, we saw Hawaiian plants and fruits, and fish swimming around. There were also people living in luxurious homes having a party, and they cheerfully called out to us, asking if we were having fun with a microphone in hand!

My wife got a bit tired in the river, so I decided to challenge myself and go to the sea alone. There were some people being swept away, possibly due to the strong winds, but it seemed okay since the wind was not blowing out to sea. Personally, I found the waves to be more enjoyable. I recommend that those who are less strong try the areas with fewer waves. Mieko was also an interesting person and taught us carefully. I fell in once, but I would like to try again!

Capt. Neal was great as well as his crew. The equipment provided was great and the crew encouraged everyone to participate. Kevin even got me to jump off the top of the boat! My husband and I tried several different activities. The trip length was perfect and everyone had a good time. The crew was multi-lingual speaking Korean, Japanese and English. The tour company made sure to keep us very informed of details and transportation. I would use this company for other adventures next time.

I had a great time paddleboarding at Kailua Beach. The waves were relatively calm, so even though it was my first time in the ocean, I managed pretty well. However, it was a bit challenging to carry my own equipment from the office to the beach. It was surprisingly heavy. I was satisfied because I could spend my time as I liked!

It was my first time trying SUP, and the instructor Mieko's explanations were easy to understand, which made it really enjoyable! I was able to do better than I expected, and the time flew by. At the island we arrived at along the way, there were seabirds and various photo spots, and thanks to the photographer Mieko, we were able to take a lot of memorable pictures. We had a great tour with (creepy) Uncle Kevin today on the North Shore of Oahu! We've been touring all around the world and can seriously rank Uncle Kevin as one of the best tour guides. The Surf Bus has the right equipment, the right itinerary and an excellent attitude. The bus was on time at every stage and Kevin had good solid connections at every stage. He took the time to work with each group on tour to insure they had the right experience. Some of the stops had multiple options and he was able to call ahead to report those options to the vendor. Kevin recommended great food and knew how important this is to an all day tour. One unmistakable clue that Kevin really knows what he is doing is that he knew so many of the other folks involved with the tour on a personal level. He's a local. He knew all of the answers because he grew up here.

Great attention to detail makes for a great tour. Uncle Kevin obviously knows what he is doing and we look forward to going on another Oahu tour with him soon. Also, kudos to the bus company. They had the right equipment and marketing to make Kevin's expertise shine.

First, the leader asked, "Do you have stamina? Do you have spirit?" and taught us that SUP is not an elegant activity. I listened seriously and committed myself to it! Along the way, I received advice from the assistant, and although I mostly paddled while sitting, it seems I reached the island faster than I expected.

On the island, I was able to enjoy a view that only those who worked hard could see, which was amazing! On the way back, I got a bit more accustomed and was able to paddle almost standing up. My dream came true, and I was really happy.

I participated in SUP hands-free, but the leader, Mieko, took a lot of photos and sent them to my smartphone right after we returned to the shop. They were very beautiful pictures and became great memories.

I participated with a friend. The instructor was very helpful, and we had a full hour of fun! We started with some practice and then did stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) while maneuvering the board and paddle. It was reassuring to know that if we fell, help would be there right away, and the sea wasn't too deep, so we could enjoy SUP without worry.

Gradually, we were able to go where we wanted and even lie down on the board, enjoying our free time.

Before trying it, I thought it might be difficult and didn't have high expectations, but it turned out to be the most enjoyable time of my trip to Hawaii. I want to do it again!

友達と2人で参加しました。インストラクターの方が付いてくださり、1時間たっぷり楽しめました！最初は練習から始まり、ボートとパドルを操りながらSUPしました。落ちてもすぐ助けてくれるので安心ですし、海も凄く深いわけではないので気軽にSUPできます。

Due to strong winds, we started with stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on the river, but since it was my first time, it actually worked out well... At the end, I tried it in the ocean, and as they said, it was completely different from the river. However, thanks to the feeling I gained from paddling on the river and especially to Mieko's careful and precise instruction, I was able to stand a little in the ocean despite the strong winds, which was amazing!!! I think I'm going to get hooked on this! SUP with Mieko in the beautiful ocean of Kailua is highly recommended. The pizza for lunch was delicious too, and I will definitely come back to do SUP again!!! The staff were all friendly and great people, which made it fun. Thank you very much.

強風の為、始め川でのSUPでしたが初SUPだったのでむしろ良かったです…最後に試しにと海でのトライ、言われてた通り川と海とでは別物でした。でも予め川で感覚を掴んだ事と、何よりみえこさんの丁寧かつ的確な指導のお陰で、強風の中、海でも少しだけ立つ事が出来て最高でした！！！癖になりそうです！カイルアの美しい海で、みえこさんとのSUP、本当にお勧めです。ランチのピザも美味しかったし、またSUPしに戻ってきます！！！スタッフの方もみんなフレンドリーで良い人達で楽しかったです。ありがとうございました。

The instructor is a Hawaiian uncle (or grandfather?) who seems to have merged with the sea, a true professional. He was very friendly and remembered some necessary Japanese phrases (like "paddle" and "paddle more").

When you go into the water with the instructor, you can go quite deep. I was able to see a turtle swimming by. I can't forget the turtle that looked over at me while taking a slow breath.

Whether you're traveling as a couple or with family, you absolutely should try paddle surfing!

Thanks to our guide Mieko, we had a very enjoyable experience. Before heading out to sea, she made sure we practiced thoroughly, and as a result, we were able to smoothly reach the open waters. We were told that the difficulty varies with the weather and waves, but it seemed we had the best conditions that day, allowing us to fully enjoy the beautiful sea and sky. I lacked the courage to stand up while landing on the island, so I spent a lot of time sitting, but my husband was determined to stand and did his best. He fell off about three times during the round trip. Still, he said it felt great to stand and paddle, and he experienced a sense of accomplishment. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch, and after the SUP, we were able to borrow bicycles to explore the stunning scenery around us. Afterward, we were both sound asleep on the bus, feeling pleasantly tired. When we come back to Hawaii, I definitely want to experience SUP with Mieko again! I am truly grateful for the wonderful memories we made on our last day in Hawaii. Thank you very much.

又ハワイに来た時にはミエコさんのSUP経験したいです！！ハワイ最終日とてもいい思い出が出来たこと本当に感謝しております。

This was a great tour! The driver was very good & had a lot of knowledge about the island! We stopped at a Macadamia nut farm & we didn’t even know that it was a scheduled stop! It was pretty cool! We snorkeled & went kayaking as well! They were all exciting activities! You definitely don’t want to rush the experience!
