A relaxed atmosphere where you can feel at ease. However, the performance took a while to start, so I would have liked them to provide a start time! The food was decent! The performance was good, but the children in the pool were a bit distracting (laughs).

I had mistakenly made a reservation for the wrong date, but the staff's response was absolutely wonderful. Many of the staff members understood Japanese, and the service was really good. However, the content of the dinner started with a salad dressed with a tangy dressing, the olive oil for the bread also had balsamic vinegar, the pasta was tomato-flavored with a tangy taste, and the steak was served with a balsamic vinegar sauce... it was a parade of sour flavors that I didn't prefer. The asparagus served with the steak was also very tough at the base. Waikiki is expensive, so I understand, but as a Japanese person, I felt that the content for two people at 30,000 yen, especially with the yen's depreciation at 160 yen, was not justified. 日本語がわかるスタッフの方も多く、接客は本当に良かったです。

酸味の効いたドレッシングのサラダに始まり、
パンにつけるオリーブオイルもバルサミコ酢入り、
パスタはトマト味で酸味が効いており、
ステーキもバルサミコ酢のソース。。と、
酸っぱいオンパレードで好みではありませんでした。
ステーキの付け合わせのアスパラガスも根元がカチカチのもの。
ワイキキは物価が高いので仕方ありませんが、１６０円の円安のせいもありますが、
飲み物別で二人で3万円の内容ではないと感じてしまう日本人です。
混んでいたので、デザートも出てくるのが遅かったので、お断りしました。
お持ち帰りもできますよ、とスタッフの方はとても親切でした。

On the first night after arriving in Hawaii, I opted for the dinner course. According to the details of the plan, I could choose one main dish from four options, which was fine. We went as a pair and were guided to a table for four, the seat closest to the stage, where we could enjoy our meal. Although I was worried about the weather since we were dining on the open terrace, it turned out to be fine as we were seated under an umbrella. The quality and quantity of the food were excellent. However, after finishing the meal, I wasn't sure if I needed to sign anything or when it was appropriate to leave the table, but it seems I could have just gotten up when I was ready. Since I had already paid for the meal in Japan before the trip, I didn't have to worry about tipping, which made it very convenient.

二人で行きましたが、4人掛けテーブルのステージに一番ステージに近い席に案内していただき食事出来ました
オープンテラスでの食事でしたの天候が心配でしたが、パラソルの下での食事で心配いりませんでした
食事の質も量もいう事ありませんでしたが、食事が終わったあと、何かサインをするのかいつのタイミングで席を立ったらいいのか分からなかったが、結局そのまま席を立てばよかったようです
旅行前に日本で食事代金は支払い済みでしたので、チップの心配もなく非常にらくでした

The hotel near Kuhio and Waikiki Beach is about a 20-minute walk away.

It seems there are two types of courses: one where the dishes are prepared right in front of you and a regular one.

The amount of spinach in the salad is huge; after eating half, I couldn't fit any more.

The sunset from the window was beautiful, and there was a mother seal and her pup napping on the beach, which was adorable.

If you're walking back, it gets dark, so I recommend taking a taxi because it can be scary.

クヒオやワイキキビーチ近辺のホテルなら20分程度で歩ける距離。

コースは目の前で仕上げ料理してくれるのと普通の2種類のコースがあるようです。

サラダのほうれん草の量が大量で、半分も食べたら残りが入らないほどです。

窓際からの夕日が綺麗なのと、ビーチにはアザラシの親子が昼寝してて可愛かったです。

歩きの場合は帰りが暗いので、怖いからタクシーがおすすめです。

Before COVID, whenever I came to Hawaii, I always made sure to have dinner with live music at the Kanikapila Grill. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and fun. You get to enjoy a wonderful live performance, and there's nothing more to ask for. Even though they are very famous musicians, they stopped me on my way out, even from a distance, and gave me an aloha sign, which made me very happy. It turned out to be the best night in Hawaii. I will definitely go again!

My birthday dinner. I thought it would be nice to try casual dining for a change, so I made a reservation for the live music. Even though I mentioned it was my birthday, there wasn't any special service. When I told the waiter who brought my last coffee that I wished he would have at least said "Happy Birthday," the live band played "Happy Birthday" for me.
For dessert, I had a super sweet ice cream (see photo).

I didn't have a window seat, but the space between the seats was wide, and I was able to enjoy it comfortably. The sunset was beautiful, and the food was delicious. When I mentioned that my friend's birthday was the day before, they brought out a plate at the end, which made her happy, so that was great. It's not cheap, but I would like to go again when I visit Hawaii!

This time, for my birthday present, my friend bought a special course menu voucher for Michel's at Waikiki. My husband, our friends, and I were really looking forward to our first course menu at Michel's. We made a reservation for 5 PM, and we were the first to be seated. There was a course menu on the table with my name on it, and the view was wonderful, marking a promising start to my birthday dinner. The dinner was a five-course meal, and we planned for it to take about two hours, as we had a reservation for a magic show in Waikiki at 7:30 PM.

An older male waiter came to our table and kindly explained the drinks. When the seafood platter was served, I noticed that all the sashimi and oysters were served two pieces each, so I asked the waiter, "But there are three of us?" He replied, "This is for three people." Of course, we had paid for three with the voucher. It was clearly a plate for two, and we had to share the seafood, each getting only one or two pieces. We also ordered escargot for three, but there wasn't enough bread. When we asked for more, the waiter's attitude suddenly changed; he left without responding and just dropped the extra bread on the table without a word.

After waiting over 30 minutes for the salad, the waiter was chatting and laughing with other tables but completely ignored us. The people at the tables around us, who had arrived after us, were receiving their dishes one after another. As time was getting tight, I wanted to ask the waiter about our order, but he wouldn’t even look at us. I decided to approach him while going to the restroom. He said, "The kitchen is busy, that's why the food isn't coming out." When I pointed out that the tables that arrived after us were already eating dessert, he got quite angry and said, "I'll tell the kitchen to bring everything at once."

Later, the GM came to serve us, but there were no apologies or excuses, just service. The waiter said, "Our GM came to serve your table," in an annoyed tone, but we were just trying to convey that we weren't complaining, we just wanted the food quickly. It was already 6:40 PM, and we still hadn't received the salad, soup, main steak, or dessert. Although we eventually received a birthday cake, the poor attitude made for a very unpleasant birthday dinner. I felt sorry and disappointed because my friend had treated us to an expensive dinner, and my husband had taken time off work to enjoy it.

In the end, we finished dinner around 7:30 PM and rushed to the show, but despite having paid for the tip with the voucher, my friend’s credit card was charged $440 for just two cocktails and iced tea. After leaving the restaurant, we had to call to correct the credit card charge, which made us late for the show, resulting in a very disappointing birthday dinner.

Michel's is an old establishment offering high-end French cuisine with a wonderful view. Most of the staff provided polite service, and the food was delicious, with lovely table-side presentations. It should have been a wonderful dinner, but it was disappointing because of the waiter. I observed the service for about two hours, and I think he has probably worked at Michel's for a long time. His attitude was noticeably different towards tourists with vouchers. Given that it is such a lovely restaurant, I hope they will work on improving their service, which is why I decided to write this review. By the way, I have lived in the U.S. for a long time, so there were no misunderstandings in English.

今回、私の誕生日プレゼントに友人が、「ワイキキ・ミッシェルズ」のバウチャー特別コースメニューを購入してくれました。私達夫婦と友人は初めてのミッシェルズでのコースメニューをとても楽しみにしていました。夕方5時開店早々の予約で一番乗りに席に着きました。テーブルには、私の名前入りでコースメニューも置いてあり、景色も素晴らしく幸先の良いバースデーディナーの始まりでした。夕食は、5コースディナーというのもあり、2時間位を予定して、午後7時半からはワイキキでマジックショーの予約が入っていました。年配の男性ウエイターがテーブルに付き、親切に飲み物などの説明をしてくれました。最初の方のシーフード盛り合わせのプレートが出てきた時、全ての刺身や生がき等が2切れづつだったので、「3人なのですが？」とウエイターさんに聞いたところ、「コレが3人分です。」と言われました。もちろん、バウチャーは3人分払っています。どうみても2人分のプレートを3人で全て1-2切れのシーフードを遠慮しながら分けて頂きました。そして、3人で1皿のエスカルゴもパンが足りず、お代わりをお願いしたところ、ウエイターさんの態度が急変して、返事もせずに去っていき、何も言わずにテーブルにおかわりのパンを放って行きました。その後のサラダが30以上待っても出て来ず、ウエイターさんも周りのテーブルではお客さん達と笑いながら話をしていますが、私達のテーブルには近づきもしなくなりました。周りのテーブルの人達は私達よりずっと後から席に着いたのですが、どんどん料理が出てきていて、流石に私達も時間が厳しくなって来たので、ウエイターさんに聞きたかったのですが、こちらを見もしてくれないので、お手洗いつでに、彼のところに言いに行きました。「キッチンが忙しいから料理が出て来ない。」と言われましたが、周りの後から来たテーブルはもうデザートを食べている、と言うと、かなり怒って、「じゃあ、全部いっぺんに持ってくる様にキッチンに言うから。」と言われました。その後、私服のGMがサーブしに来ましたが、言い訳も、誤りも無く、サーブして行きました。ウエイターは、「わざわざ、ウチのGMがあなたのテーブルをサーブしに来たでしょ。」と怒り気味に言われましたが、私達は文句を言ってるのでは無く、急いで欲しいだけだと伝えました。まだサラダ、スープ、そしてメインのステーキとデザートも出て来ていないのに、時間はもう6時40分でした。その後も誕生日のケーキ等頂きましたが、かなり態度が悪く大変不快な誕生日ディナーになってしまいました。わざわざ友人が高いディナーをプレゼントしてくれて、旦那も仕事を休んで楽しみにやって来たので申し訳ないし、残念でなりませんでした。その後、結局ディナーが全部終わったのが7時半近く、大急ぎでショーに移動しましたが、その後、バウチャーでチップまで込みで払ってあるので、カクテル2杯とアイスティーのみの請求のはずなのに、友人のクレジットカードに＄440ものチャージが付いていました。結局、お店を出てから、又、電話でクジットカードの請求をやり直してもらうことになり、ショーにも遅れて、かなり残念なバースデーディナーとなりました。建物は古いけど、老舗の高級フランス料理を素晴らしい景色で頂くミッシェルズ。大体のスタッフの方達も丁寧なサービスで、お料理も美味しく、ステキなテーブルサイドのプレゼンテーションなど、盛りだくさんで、本来だったら、素晴らしいディナーになるはずだったのに、ウエイターさんがハズレだったのがガッカリでした。2時間ほどじっくりとサービスを観察していましたが。彼は多分かなり長くミッシェルズに勤められているのかと思います。バウチャーの観光客にはあからさまに態度が違います。ステキなレストランだけに今後のサービスの向上に努めて頂きたいと思い、レビューをさせて頂きました。因みに私はアメリカに長く在住しているので英語でのすれ違いや、誤解はありません。

Dinner Plan B: We participated as a family of three. For the first time, the server was also Japanese. I have dined here several times, and the food is consistently delicious. I was satisfied with the dishes. However, I was served a different drink than what I ordered. Since it was crowded, I chose not to point it out to avoid any hassle. I was a bit disappointed, considering they should be excellent, being Japanese.

I used this place for dinner. The B course had just the right amount of food to fill us up, and my wife was able to finish it all. There are Japanese-speaking staff at the reception, so you can enter with peace of mind. The staff in the hall were also friendly and cheerful, and they spoke to us in broken Japanese. The staff here are very kind, friendly, and provide excellent service. Whenever we mention, “Our wedding anniversary is coming up, so we come to Hawaii every year, and this time we’re back after a long time,” they always surprise us with a dessert message plate at the end (we truly appreciate this annual gesture). The staff were all friendly and attentive. There were many dishes to choose from, and I couldn't finish the main dish, the shadow briar beef. The meat was lean, tender, and very delicious. Although the seating wasn't by the sea, the view was great and wonderful.

We used this place for a small meal after the wedding ceremony.

We were able to enter smoothly. Additionally, there were some menu items written in Japanese, so we could order while looking at those. The dessert came with either coffee or tea. It was very filling and delicious.

The restrooms were easy to find, and it's convenient because you can stop by the beach or visit the Royal Hawaiian Center on your way back.
