Only that kinda sucked was that it started raining on us and it wasnt until the 3rd pour down that they began to hand out ponchos, so i guess i would recommend to bring an umbrella because all festivities do occur outdoors! Other than that, food was delicious, show was fun, staff was friendly, drinks were stiff, and there was plenty to do!!!! Would most definately recommend.

As you approach the lawn and with your first drink you are invited to spooned portions of fresh Ahi Poke, Kalua Pig, Lomi Salmon, and Poi. Story-teller Joe starts by introducing himself and went directly into explaining what ingredients each spoon held and how it applied to Hawaiian post-western contact life. The only disappointment was the food... There was Japanese food, but it was a bit different from the taste of Japan... However, since we were in Hawaii, the cheerful atmosphere made it all okay! I attended with my family, and everyone was satisfied. I heard that the content of the show changes next time, so I would like to participate again.

Whenever I come to Hawaii, I make it a point to participate in a luau show. This time, I attended the show at the Hilton Hotel for the first time, and it was a lot of fun. Also, everything was in English.
I was quite disappointed that the venue was on the rooftop of a building. The ones I've attended before were all near the ocean, which created a much better atmosphere and was very pleasant. It may vary from person to person, but for me, being on the rooftop just didn't quite do it. I don't think I'll participate again next time.
The food was average. They also had options for children, which I think is great for those with little ones.

Honestly, I was not satisfied with the food. It's not that it was particularly bad, but it wasn't delicious either.
There were many mistakes in the show as well, so it wasn't perfect.
However, you can clearly see that it's not just Waikiki in Oahu, Hawaii, but also the old town and the not-so-beautiful coastline.
It's worth visiting once, but it's not somewhere you would go multiple times.

This is a MUST do for EVERYONE. We did the VIP box at the back and had the best seats in the place. The stage is still pretty close from the box and it is raised up at the same level as the VIP box so you see over top of everyone else who is in the general seating area. The VIP treatment really makes the whole experience so much better you get 2 pictures taken and don't have to wait in line ups. I couldn't imagine waiting in the long line that formed for the buffet!! There were lots of booths and activities before the dinner and show started we wandered around and watched some of the acts and tried the games they had set up, We walked out to the beach and the rocks which had an amazing view. It was just such a good time, perfect for the first night or two in Hawaii to get you in the "Hawaiian" mood!!! If you are going to do this activity do the VIP, you'll be happy you did :) The show was really good. Kids will love this but if you are a couple it is quite romantic!!

On September 1st, I participated in the Standard plan.
As others have shared in their experiences, stepping onto the large welcoming bus felt like entering another world! We were the only Japanese people, with most of the group coming from the mainland United States, along with some guests from Australia and Russia. The guide understood a bit of Japanese, but since all the talks during the ride, including tour notes, were in English, it might not be suitable for those who don't understand English at all.
Paradise Cove is located to the west of Waikiki, beyond the airport and Pearl Harbor, and since the bus ride is long, I recommend bringing a light jacket if you're sensitive to the air conditioning.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a welcome drink (ID is required for alcohol) and received shell leis for a commemorative photo. If you like the photo, you can purchase it on the way back. I think it was around $15.
We were guided to our dining seats, and after writing our names on the sticker on the table to secure our spots, we had free time. The park offered various activities and crafts, so we spent our time freely playing a game similar to javelin called Ooihe and getting Polynesian art tattoos (which wash off) until it was time for dinner.
The meal was a Hawaiian luau buffet, and the lomi lomi salmon and kalua pig were especially delicious. The plan included two drink tickets, which allowed us to exchange them for cocktails from a designated menu.
A point to note is to confirm your bus number and return time carefully, and as mentioned in the notes, a separate tip payment is required. This is a custom that may not be familiar in Japan, so it's easy to forget, but even though the tour fee has been paid, a small tip is appreciated when receiving crafts or drinks.
The show performed on the outdoor stage was spectacular! Along with hula and live music, the fire performance after a 15-minute break was definitely worth seeing. The beautiful sunset we unexpectedly witnessed added to the experience, making it a wonderful memory.

Everything was GREAT except for the location.. I was disappointed cuz I booked this with a beach location in mind.. or at least, close proximity or along the beach; which I heard was the case for some time. Instead it was on the rooftop of the parking structure! Anyway, you probably would get more outstanding reviews if you only put the luau back on the beach or the grass area between the Lagoon Tower & Rainbow Tower! That would've made it PERFECT! We participated in a program called "Luau" with a Japanese guide as a family (three members: a couple and their 10-year-old daughter). Since we experienced activities like making flower leis, hula dancing, and ukulele lessons, I think it was great for the child to have a program that was more than just observation. The dinner included with the tour was a buffet, allowing us to eat as much as we liked, and the seasoning was also fine. During the meal, we enjoyed a show, and after eating, we moved to a different location for an approximately 1 hour and 30-minute Polynesian show (with a 10-minute break), which was a wonderful story-driven performance that made the time fly. Overall, I believe the cost performance was good, and I am satisfied. I think I will go again next time I visit Hawaii.

The evening show was wonderful and powerful, to the point where I thought it could rival "Shiki Theatre Company"! Since it was a student show, I didn't have high expectations and thought it would just be women dancing hula. I thought about how around ¥15,000 for an adult ticket seemed expensive, but the show alone is worth that much.
A male student served as our guide for about ten of us. I was truly impressed by his sincerity and enthusiasm. He translated everything into Japanese. I thought it was amazing that he had only studied for two years. However, since he translated everything, I felt that the Polynesian atmosphere was somewhat diminished. I can speak English well enough for everyday conversations, so I found this a bit disappointing. It would have been better if the experience had been conducted in English only.
I wish there had been a bit more time for dinner before the show and shopping after the show.

Due to the impact of the typhoon from the previous day, I thought, "Will it be canceled?" as I headed to the venue, which was supposed to take place as scheduled. The event was held not outdoors, but in a hotel convention hall. However, they smoothly guided the approximately 500 attendees, and the show started on time. The singing and speaking of the male vocalist, whose voice resonated well, along with the powerful dance performances, were no different from what you would experience outdoors. The food was delicious (I was particularly impressed by the tenderness of the roast beef and went back for seconds!) and you could enjoy two drinks (beer or soft drinks). After the show, I took photos with the dancers and felt great as I stepped outside, only to be met with a downpour that made me wonder if it had been canceled. Of course, it must be amazing outdoors as well, but I had a valuable experience. The reservation process was easy, the food was tasty, and it was fun to be surrounded by lively groups of foreigners.
P.S. There was no fire dance since it was indoors.
