I made a reservation at Five Star. It was our last dinner in Hawaii. I thought it would be a heavy dinner since I was getting tired of Hawaiian cuisine, but the seasoning was to my liking, or rather suited for Japanese tastes (there were many foreigners as well), and the portion size was good, allowing us to have a wonderful time. It was a Friday when we watched the Hilton fireworks from the sea, but it was surprisingly far away. Since the deck can be windy, it's a good idea to bring a light jacket. Since we participated as a couple, we also purchased the window-side seating option. With the addition of cake and champagne, it felt just like a honeymoon. It was a bit embarrassing since we are over sixty.

The all-you-can-eat crab was like snow crab, and compared to Japanese snow crab, the taste and meat quality were somewhat lacking, which is understandable. However, it was difficult to eat since there were no scissors or crab spoons provided. I was disappointed because if we had the right tools, we could have eaten more crab. This cost them one star.

The singing and dancing by the staff were excellent. From our window-side seats, we could see everything clearly, and my wife was delighted. The staff were very active during boarding and disembarking, serving meals, and dancing.

The final song and dance involving the audience created a lively atmosphere, and we had a very enjoyable time. I would like to participate again.

Each class has different events on board, so here are my impressions of the one I attended.

I will take the bus to the stop near Aloha Tower. Most of the passengers are Japanese, but the attendants are locals and the explanations are in English. There are English/Japanese videos playing for important information, so there shouldn't be any issues.

For tourists, the only means of transportation besides rental cars is the trolley, so that alone is quite appreciated. When you look out at the sea from the port where you get off the bus, you can see tropical fish right away!

The ship has a first floor for those having a course meal and a second floor for buffet diners. My husband and I had made a reservation for the buffet on the second floor. I’m not sure about the first floor, but sitting on the second floor, my honest impression was... there are a lot of foreigners! (Of course, but I was a bit surprised since I thought it was a tour popular with Japanese people too.)

While we were seated and waiting for departure, it felt like the crew mainly went around greeting tables that were obviously speaking English, which made me feel a bit excluded. (After departure, it seems they came to my husband while I was away, but since he doesn’t speak English well, he didn’t quite understand.)

You can enjoy one complimentary Mai Tai. The buffet is more of a "one-time visit to get food" style rather than an all-you-can-eat format. This is how a buffet is supposed to be, but the quality is just average. The roast beef seems to be the highlight.

The sunset time is announced in advance, so you can enjoy the deck at that time. Of course, the sunset is backlit (laughs), but it’s something to remember.

After sunset, live music and hula shows begin on each floor. Everything is in English, but the songs played are all famous, and the MC was considerate of guests from various countries, which was nice. The hula show is up close, diverse, and although the space is small, it’s quite impressive.

Before arriving, everyone dances and sings in a circle, making it enjoyable for people of all ages! However, the time spent admiring the night view of Honolulu from the deck was wonderful, and I was mostly outside during the dance.

(出港後、私が外している間に夫の所にも来たようですが、英語ダメなためよく分らなかった様子)
マイタイが１杯サービスでいただけます。
ビュッフェは食べ放題、というよりは「一度だけ取りに行く」スタイルです。いわゆる「食べ放題」では無いです。本来ビュッフェってこういうものなのですけどね。クオリティはごく普通。
ローストビーフが目玉みたいですね。
あらかじめサンセットの時刻がアナウンスされるので、その時間にはデッキに出て気持ちよく過ごせます。もちろんサンセットは逆光ですが(笑)目に焼き付けて・・
日没後、それぞれのフロアで生音楽とフラのショーが始まります。
もちろん全て英語ですが、演奏してくれるのは有名な曲ばかりだし、所々諸外国から来たゲストを気遣ってくれるMCで嬉しかったですね。
フラのショーは間近だし、バラエティに富んでいて、狭いながら見ごたえがあります。
到着前には全員が輪になって踊り歌い、老若男女問わず楽しめる内容でした！
しかしながらホノルルの夜景をデッキから眺める時間が素晴らしく、ダンスの間はほぼ外に出ていたのですが。
最後まで疑問だったのは、サーブしてくれていたウェイター(兼ダンサーの小さい男の子)にはチップをいつ渡せば良かったのか？
ミュージシャン&ダンサーズにはチップは不要だったのか？
誰か教えてください！

個人的にはサンセット&ホノルルの夜景で充分元が取れて、夕食も取れたので満足です。

The staff were friendly, the ship was clean and we enjoyed the food and entertainment. The entertainers, from the dancers to the musicians on our deck, were fun to watch and listen to. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. The only downside, in my opinion, was that they served dinner immediately after setting sail. Given that sunset was 30 mins after we sailed, we either had to choose to watch the sunset and let our food get cold, or eat our food and miss the sunset. We had plenty of time to eat, so I wish they had waited until after sunset to serve the food.

I wanted to go on a cruise, so I made a reservation! Since it was a bit pricey, I chose the most affordable meal. It was disappointing that I couldn't go out to the upper deck because there was a private event. It was nice to see the music and dance, but I wasn't sure if I could freely go out to the deck, and before I knew it, the sunset had already set, so I couldn't take any photos. If it's your first time in Hawaii, I think it's worth participating.

I participated at Pacific Star, but the room was small and felt cramped. I definitely recommend opting for a 3-star experience even if it costs more! The food, including salad, simmered fish, teriyaki chicken, and roasted chicken, was quite delicious. Above all, the view from the ship was fantastic, especially since the weather was nice! The scenery transitioning from sunset to night view is worth seeing! Additionally, the way the dancers got everyone excited was great, and finishing with everyone dancing together was a lot of fun!

We started our meal before setting sail, and we departed right away! Watching the sunset from the boat was amazing. After that, the Hawaiian show was very satisfying. There was hula dancing and Tahitian dancing, and at the end, all the guests danced together, which was so much fun! It was truly enjoyable!

The staff who could speak Japanese were not present, and the timing for taking drink orders was poor; the items we ordered didn't arrive unless we prompted them. I was a bit disappointed since I made an effort to meet the dress code. There were many people, both Japanese and non-Japanese, who did not adhere to the dress code, and if you expect a five-star experience, you might be let down.

There were many older Japanese guests who were loud and disruptive when drunk, ruining the jazz experience. The staff on the shuttle bus also weren't very proficient in Japanese and their service was careless, so if you want to avoid a bad feeling from the start, I recommend opting for the shuttle service.

I think it could be a nice dinner cruise if the participants were more respectful of the etiquette, but for us, it wasn't worth the high price. The fireworks on Friday were beautiful, though! (laughs)

日本語ができるスタッフにもあたらず、ドリンクオーダーを取りにくるタイミング等も悪く、注文したものも催促しなければこない。折角ドレスコードまで満たして参加したのに少しガッカリでした。日本人は勿論、日本人以外もドレスコードを満たしていない方は多くて、ファイブスターだからと期待してると肩透かしくらいます。
日本人の年配の方々が多く、酔っぱらってのヤジが煩く折角のジャズも台無しでした。
送迎のバスのスタッフも日本語があまり得意ではない&対応は雑なので、スタートから嫌な気持ちになりたくないなら送迎オプションつけたほうがいいと思います。
参加者がしっかりマナーを守れる方々が沢山いればいいディナークルーズになるとは思いますが、自分たちには高い料金払う価値は無かったです。
金曜日の花火は綺麗でしたよ(笑)

Due to rain that evening, there was no sunset. But three of us enjoyed the dinner and live entertainment. Fortunately, we were seated at a table right in front. Our waiter, Ethan was superb! He was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Dinner was delicious! Would recommend this event.

Since my goal was to watch the sunset, I chose the most affordable course, but I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet-style meal. What impressed me the most was that shortly after the meal began, I realized I didn't have my camera. When I informed the staff about it, they desperately searched for it. Fortunately, my camera was safely returned to me. Even though it was a busy time, I was very happy with how they responded with smiles. I also appreciate their efforts to understand my somewhat unclear English. Thanks to them, I was able to capture the fireworks from the boat with my camera. While sightseeing, it's easy to focus on the food and scenery, but I felt that all the staff here were wonderful people as well.

サンセットをみるのが目的なので、一番安価なコースを選択しましたが、お料理はブッフェスタイルで十分楽しめました。そして何よりも感動したのは、食事も始まった早々、カメラがない事に気がつき、スタッフにその旨を伝えると、必死になって探してくれたことです。カメラは無事に私の手元に戻りました。忙しい時間帯であったはずなのに、笑顔で対応してくれたことがとても嬉しかったです。私が話すよく分からない英語も必死に理解しようとしてくれたことに感謝です。おかげで、船から見た打ち上げ花火もカメラに収めることができました。観光のときはお料理や景色などに関心が行ってしまいがちですが、ここにいるスタッフも素敵な人ばかりだと思った次第です。
