We traveled with three families, a total of eight people, to celebrate retirement and my grandchild's middle school graduation. This was my first overseas trip and my first dinner cruise! I was very satisfied with both the show and the meal. I experienced a sunset dinner cruise a while ago during my honeymoon in Australia, and to be honest, I didn't have high expectations. However, the Star of Honolulu had excellent staff who welcomed us with music and dance even before boarding. This is our second Sunset Cruise and we had a wonderful time. Service and Entertainment was outstanding. Food was average, and uneventful. We are not fans of meat cooked rare and would have liked to had the meat cooked to our liking. We look forward to taking this dinner cruise again, when we are in Honolulu.

my husband and i went on the star of honolulu last year for our annual trip to hawaii, and he surprised me the dinner cruise on valentines day! it was just perfect. i thought we were going to go to a regular dinner but instead he takes me to this luxury ship and even got the 5 star!! that was just too much! the jazz music was so relaxing, so much better than the cheesey hula music, and the food was ridiculously delicious ^_^ like i haven't had anything that good since. the steak like melted into my mouth and the appetizers were so yummers too~!!!!
i wish i was in hawaii for valentines again this year so i could go again XD

I participated in the 3-Star Sunset Celebration + Tantalus Hill plan.
The view was very beautiful, and the food was delicious as expected! Since I signed up for the celebration plan, a professional took our photos, and I was really happy with how well they turned out (it would have been perfect if we were a little thinner, though! (laughs)).
After getting off the boat, we headed to Tantalus Hill, and the night view was also very beautiful!
As a beginner in Hawaii, I noticed that there were many repeat visitors, which made this activity very satisfying.

We participated in the buffet and show as a family. The ride was bumpier than I expected, and I felt nauseous during the meal.
However! The hula dance show and the view of the sunset sinking into the horizon were so beautiful that I forgot all about it.

I attended with my parents. It was a cheap dinner course, but we were able to eat plenty, and the taste wasn't bad. Although we weren't by the window, we could see the sunset and had a good view of the city skyline and the dance, which was sufficient. Since we had our wedding ceremony in Hawaii, we participated as a group for the subsequent dinner party. The schedule allowed for a bit of time between the ceremony and the departure, but it seems everyone was able to pass the time well at the Aloha Tower Marketplace.
We used the bus shuttle service, but the Sheraton bus rotary was a bit chaotic with various tour companies mixed together.

This was my fourth time participating in the sunset dinner cruise, and I felt that the content changes each time, making it enjoyable no matter how many times you go. This time, I went with my mother and chose the window seat plan, and she was very happy!
However, I might not recommend it for those who want to enjoy a quiet dinner cruise. At first, you can leisurely enjoy dinner while taking in the view of Waikiki from the sea, but in the second half, there was dancing (kind of disco-like?), which felt quite American and lively. But I had a great time (laughs). The sunset was absolutely beautiful. There was nothing to distract from the sea, sky, and sunsetโno buildings or anythingโand it brought tears to my eyes.
One regret was that I wanted to take my time watching the hula before boarding. Overall, I give it a thumbs up!
