If you're torn between 3 stars and 5 stars, I strongly recommend going for the 5 stars. Last time, I participated at 3 stars, so this time I chose 5 stars, and the difference in service is remarkable, as you would expect. You'll likely find the satisfaction level exceeds the price difference.

Regarding the dress code, I went with a dress shirt and slacks, which felt a bit casual, but I noticed many Americans were in suits and dresses, so even a more formal dress code wouldn't feel out of place; in fact, I think it's ideal.

Each table has a dedicated waitress, but since the payment was already made, it seemed that the Japanese participants didn't prepare tips for the waitresses. I think it's a good idea to leave a small gratuity (around $10 per person) discreetly as a token of appreciation when you leave.

We participated as a couple in our 30s. The view of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the sunset from the boat was incredibly beautiful. The meal was average, nothing special. However, the final cake was not too sweet and delicious.

The waiter was quite entertaining, which made it fun. When everyone gathered in a circle to dance at the end, that waiter took the lead and showcased a wonderful dance, which was enjoyable to watch.

The hula dance was very graceful. The male dancer was sweating profusely while performing, and it was very powerful. I was lucky to have participated without knowing there would be a show. When I made a request to the pianist who was playing live, he played my favorite song, which became a great memory.

However, the seating was cramped, and I was concerned about the close distance to the person next to me.

フラダンスはとても優雅でした。男性ダンサーのダンスは汗だくで踊っておりとても迫力がありました。ショーがあると知らずに参加していたので、ラッキーでした。生演奏をしているピアノの方に、リクエストをしたら好きな曲を演奏していただけたので、これもとてもいい思い出になりました。

ただ座席がぎゅうぎゅうで、隣の人との距離が近いのが気になりました。

Since we had a toddler with us, we chose the buffet. I didn't have high expectations for the food, so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. This class is often not handled by travel agencies, so there are definitely fewer guests compared to other classes. However, there is one male and one female dancer, and there are live performances and hula lessons, so you can enjoy it without any issues! They even sang some Southern songs. Of course, at the end, everyone got really excited!!

I did request photos as an option when booking the tour, but the photos were taken at our seats before departure, so the background was "Hooters." (I wish it had at least been the ocean...) I was disappointed because I thought we would be able to take pictures with the dancers.

幼児がいたので、ビュッフェにしました。食事に関しては、あまり期待していなかったので、意外と良かったなという印象。このクラスは、代理店で扱っていない場合が多く、他のクラスに比べてゲストが断然少ないです。でもダンサーも男女一人ずついますし、生演奏もフラレッスンもあり、問題なく楽しめます！サザンの曲も歌ってくれましたよ。もちろん、最後にはみんなで大盛り上がり！！
ただツアー申込時に写真をオプションで頼んだのですが、乗船してから出航前に席での撮影でしたので、バックが「フーターズ」でした。（せめて海だったらよかったのに…）ダンサーと一緒にとってもらえるものと思っていたので、これにはがっかりしました。

My girlfriend and I went on a Star of Honolulu dinner cruise one Friday and we had a blast!
We arrived early and had some drinks before boarding the ship and were greeted with a performance of beautiful Hawaiian dancers. They kept dancing all the time while people were boarding, it was so pretty.
On board everybody was very friendly and welcoming, it felt great. They had to manage a lot of people getting on the ship but the staff seemed relaxed and genuinely happy that we were on board. Our server was particularly sweet, she worked so hard all evening. Although she was incredibly busy she even took the time to chat with us (we both share the same name and were joking around about it). The welcome drink was great (Mai Tai)! And dinner as well. It was so much to eat I was totally stuffed at the end. Steak, veggies, mashed potatoes, and crab legs as much as we could eat (warning: you will think you can eat more but it's already so much you cannot!). All finished off with yummy ice cream desert and coffee. The welcome drink was included, additional drinks had to be paid for but the prices were absolutely reasonable for the type of cruise! The route was beautiful and took us out towards Diamond Head. Even though there were a lot of people on board there is enough room to walk around and get a good spot to watch the sunset or take pictures. Later they started an evening show with lots of different costumes which was fun! We sat very close to the performance and they were again beautiful to watch. After the show they even encouraged everybody to stand up and dance! That was so much fun. Some people were shy but the crew had so much energy themselves they danced and danced and got many people up. Time just flew by! It was so beautiful to see the island and Waikiki/Honolulu from the distance, the lights, night setting in. Definitely recommended as a special trip for your vacation or a very romantic special date with your loved one :)

Unforgettable Evening on my Birthday!

It was an enjoyable, memorable, unforgettable, and breathtaking Dinner Cruise celebrating my 60th birthday on August 31, 2014 with "Three Star Classic Steak & Lobster Dinner" all the way from Toronto, Canada. Me and 13 guests were very pleased from Customer Service (very friendly staff), food and beverages, and atmosphere. I will surely strongly recommend to all Canadians and non-Canadians. The greatest thing... I felt I was the "STAR" of Honolulu Dinner Cruise guest at the time, as I got lots of attention from STAFF and GUESTS greeting me "Happy birthday." In addition, one of the Polynesian dancers, Emmy C. my cousin daughter watching her dancing, added my day celebrating another Milestone. She and all her co-dancers and all the entertainers did a great job! Kudos!

I will also to thank VELTRA tours and activities Company especially my niece Emily Coloma who booked our reservation. I will surely recommend to all my friends, family, relatives and acquaintances globally. Mahalo!

I've been to Hawaii many times, but for some reason, I had never been on the Star of Honolulu. This summer, I went to Hawaii with my elementary and preschool children, so it was a great opportunity to board the ship. The result was a big success! The night view of Honolulu from the ship and the ukulele show, among other attractions, were fantastic. It seems my preschooler also enjoyed it. If you haven't boarded yet, I definitely recommend giving it a try! It looks like I'll be boarding again on my next trip to Hawaii. Highly recommended!

Since my parents had previously participated in the buffet-style option, this time we decided to upgrade and enjoy lobster and steak. The ship was very crowded, so the first drinks took a while to arrive, and we missed the toast, but after that, the service was smooth, which was great. Above all, the staff were moving around with smiles, and I was really impressed by their effort.

All the food was delicious, and we finished everything along with our drinks.

From start to finish, there was live singing, creating an amazing and pleasant atmosphere. (We can overlook the service sounds for this occasion.) When the show started, dancers also came down the aisles in addition to the central stage, which added to the excitement. They performed hula and Polynesian dances, and it was great to enjoy well-known songs that everyone recognizes across generations and countries (like The Carpenters and the Hawaiian version of "Tears of Joy"). In the end, the staff and guests all mixed together for a big celebration. If anyone doesn't want to participate in the chaos, they can retreat to the deck, so that's fine.

It was the last night of our stay in Hawaii, and we had a wonderful time. By the way, if everything goes as planned, we should arrive at the hotel before 9 PM, so we can go out for a short time from there. Even on the last day, there's enough time to pack our bags (laughs).

最後にはサービスしていたスタッフさんやお客さんも入り乱れての大騒ぎとなっていました。
この大騒ぎに参加したくない人はデッキの方に避難することもできるので大丈夫です。

ハワイ滞在最後の夜でしたが、とても楽しく過ごすことができました。
ちなみに予定通りに進めばホテル到着は21時前なので、そこから短時間ですが出かけることもできます。
最終日にしても荷物をまとめる余裕があります(笑)

As you check in and arrive to the pier, you will be entertained with a Hula performance. You will then be directed with a pleasantly helpful staff to seat you with your tossed salad ready to be consumed. Also you will then receive a welcome Mai Tai which is very addicting and may cause you to purchase more. I had 4 of them. The all you can eat crab legs, steak, and macadamia nut ice cream was amazing. As the sun started to set, I found myself in a very relaxing area of the top deck. I was taking in the views of the ocean, land, and skies as I was just about ready to call it a night. Until we just about to reach the dock, all their employees started a party and danced like crazy. My date is not much of a dancer, but she enjoyed watching me entertain everyone. This night was a night to remember especially the service provided the staff on board. They will make sure you are always satisfied.

We participated as a family of four. It was a one-star experience, but we were satisfied with the all-you-can-eat crab. However, unlike in Japan, there were no crab spoons, so I had to think about how to eat it. The dinner was really good. Additionally, the shows that took place in between were vibrant and very enjoyable. In the end, everyone danced together with the staff, and it was a lot of fun. Since the air conditioning was quite strong, I think it's a good idea to bring a jacket.

Despite the ship having to return to port because of rough water we had a wonderful time. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. The lobsters were delicious and the steak was about the most tender and tasty steak I have ever had. The music and show were great.I was very appreciative that one of the dancers took a picture with me after the show. The staff was eapecialy helpfull and particularly your assitant manager.The Star of Honolulu was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii. We would definitely do it again. Highly recommended.

I boarded with a 1-star rating, but the staff was absolutely amazing. There was a staff member who resembled Reiji from Nakagawa-ke, who was a bit younger and slimmer. His name was something like Frederico, but since the pronunciation was difficult, I would call him "Nakagawa-ke-san" or "Reiji-san" when I needed something. He immediately responded and came to our table, and he was very kind, especially since there were elderly people with us. During the final dance scene, there were even some people who danced until their pants ripped to get the guests excited. The food was delicious, and it was a cruising experience where I could truly enjoy Hawaiian hospitality. Of course, the sunset was beautiful too!!!

On a trip to Hawaii for a mature couple, we made our reservation online the day before. The waitstaff and dancers were well-trained, friendly, and not at all pretentious. Their pleasant service left us very satisfied. The weather was great that day, and we were able to capture a wonderful sunset on camera.

As part of the company's 55th anniversary celebration, I went on a trip to Hawaii. Since it was my first time in Hawaii, I wanted to see the beauty of the ocean and the sunset. After researching online, I decided to go with the dinner cruise offered by VELTRA.

Being my first time in Hawaii and using this service, I had quite a bit of anxiety leading up to the day. However, the local staff smoothly guided us to the shuttle bus, and we arrived at the port in about 45 minutes. Boarding the ship and being shown to our designated seats went without any confusion, just as shown in the pictures.

In the room, people from various countries gathered, and as dinner began and the show started, the excitement gradually built up. After finishing the meal, we went up to the deck. The blue of the ocean was a deep azure, unlike any sea I had seen before. About 30 minutes after going up to the deck, the sunset began. It was a pity that it wasn't a sunset over the ocean, but I was still captivated by the beautiful evening sky.

We returned to the cabin, thinking it was over, but that was just the beginning of the main show. Not only the show dancers but also the staff performed wonderfully, and there were guest interactions that kept us entertained until we were almost back at the port. 会社の５５周年記念の一環として実施した、ハワイ旅行。私自身初のハワイということもあり、海と夕日の素晴らしさを目にしたい、という思いから、ネットで調べ回った結果、VELTRAさんのディナークルーズに決めさせて頂きました。　初のハワイ、初の利用ということで、当日までかなりの不安がありましたが、現地の方の送迎バスへの案内もとてもスムーズで、４５分程で港に到着。案内の写真通りの船への乗船～指定された席への案内も、何の戸惑いも無く進みました。案内された部屋には、色々な国の方々が集い、そんな中でディナーの開始～ショウの開宴が進み、徐々にテンションが上がってきます。食事が一段落したところで、船上デッキへ。海の青さは、今まで見てきた海とは別格の紺碧の海でした。デッキに上がって３０分程で、サンセットの開演。海へのサンセットではなかったのは残念でしたが、それでも綺麗な空の夕日に魅了されました。再び船室へ。これで終了と思いきや、ここからがショウの本番でした。ショウダンサーのみならず、スタッフの見事なダンス～ゲストを交えた競演があり、港に着くギリギリまで楽しませて頂きました。帰りのバスへもしっかりと案内して頂き、安心してホテルに戻ることが出来ました。
旅行日のほんの数日前に申し込んだにも拘わらず、電話連絡も頂き、予約が確定したことを確実に連絡頂けたことも、大変嬉しかったです。
リーズナブルで素晴らしい企画でした。初のハワイ旅行での楽しく、大きな思い出が出来ました。本当にありがとうございました。

It was a cruise on the lowest floor. There were some performances like hula dancing on other floors and rooms, but perhaps because it was the lowest rank, there were only two hula performers and one musician, creating a cozy atmosphere. ただ、スタッフの方々はとてもよかったです。
また、ご飯ですが、もう２～３種類多くして頂けるとうれしかったです。

It's a 1-star rating, but the meal consisting of steak and crab was sufficient. I chose Pacific Star (all-you-can-eat buffet).
I didn't have high expectations for the food, and it turned out to be just as I thought.

However, the sunset was incredibly beautiful.
