More than just a "tour"
Reviewed by: Louie, 2018/06/30My husband and I took our first trip to Hawai'i (O'ahu) and decided to take this Grand Circle Island tour so we could get a quick summary of some of the many sites to see and explore later on, when we have more time. Our tour guide, Lei-Hua, was definitely a local and she was able to share her vast personal knowledge and experiences of O'ahu with our group, which helped to make it even more special for us! Not just some regular tour guide that points out stuff and tells you what it is. Lei added her own personal touch to all the landmarks and then some!
I'm not sure if folks can specifically request their tour guide, but if you take this tour and it happens to be Lei-Hua, then you are in for a treat!

Good Time
Reviewed by: Fatima , 2018/06/24My daughters and I had a great time The tour bus picked us up on time . The tour guide /driver provided us a lot of information and history about the island, restaurants and all important sites we drive by . He was was funny too . He answered every ones questions.He allowed us enough time for breaks and photos. We had an amazing time at the Waterfall, my youngest had a foot surgery last year and she can’t walk too fast , we where having a great time swimming in the waterfall pool that we lost track of time . We had 15 minutes to make back to the bus , knowing my youngest can’t walk too fast or run my oldest said “ I’ll have him wait mom “ and took off running ( she runs track and cross country) . We had to be back by 12pm , we ( my youngest and I) made by 12:05 , My oldest daughter was happy the driver waited for us , we all were :). Then we drove to the snorkeling site , the tide was low and it was too rocky, I have never snorkel and I’m not a great swimmer, so we walked up to do some shopping and had a fresh coconut. We made our last stop at Haleiwa, the driver recommended some restaurants . The girls and I had a wonderful time , we ate and did some shopping. He was on time to pick us up . On the way back to the hotel we were tired and feel asleep. Overall we had a great time, we visited a few places and I didn’t have to drive through all that traffic I feel bad I forgot the drivers name , He was knowledgeable and I felt safe with him behind the wheel while the girls and I enjoy the activities and sites . The only reason I didn’t rate outstanding is because the snorkeling was not fun , the waves were too strong and the tide was too low , too rocky, but no one can really control that :)

Tour and guide were exceptional

The tour gave us a good idea of the places we'd like to visit the next few days. Our tour guide, I think he name was Paul, was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, funny, and provided good advice for activities we could do the next few days.

Very good day! Great value! Would highly recommend.
Reviewed by: Christel and Jason, 2018/04/18My husband and I went on a North shore / O'ahu tour a week ago with Aloha Island Expedition. We had a wonderful time and we got to see and experience a lot of unique sites throughout the day. It was the best day we've had in our 3-weeks visit to Hawai'i. Our guide was very friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable and he really customized the day's activities based on our interests. He went out of his way to make sure that everything went smoothly and that we had the best time. We saw so much in 8-hours! Some of the highlights of our tour were: the Royal Mausoleum, the Green World coffee farms (such good coffee!), the many beaches along the North Shore, the Byodo-Inn temple, the Nu'uanu pali and (my personal favorite) the Ulupo heiau. Our lunch of Huli-Huli chicken and Garlic shrimp was also ono! There was nothing negative to say about the tour. It was all around wonderful. We would highly recommend it to anyone interested in seeing O'ahu in a more "authentic" light as well as people trying to see all that they can see in a day. We will definitively book another tour through Aloha Island Expedition the next time we come back to O'ahu. Mahalo nui, guys, for a job very well done!

Best way to the North Shore.
Reviewed by: Jessica, 2018/03/29This is the tour for people who like to be on there own once they get there. This is broken into two parts morning activity and afternoon activity. You have a fully narrated ride over to the North Shore telling you virtually everything about the island. Also all landmarks are pointed out. You arrive get snacks if needed. You are then dropped off at your first activity. The falls etc. Pk up time is set you meet back at bus and your off to bike,kayak,shop or lunch or whatever. Your pk up time is set for your hassle free ride back to waikiki. All fully narrated back. Worth every penny. AC was our guide and knew everything about the island. Was the highlight of our trip.

Great Short Tour

Jarod our tour guide was 100% local and had so much interesting local knowledge to impart. Took us to some great locations. Only thing I would say was a slight negative was that the jeep is probably not that comfortable for 4 adults. Initially it was just my partner and myself and we were so excited but then picked up another 2 males - so was fairly crammed in back seat. Would have liked it to be topless as well.

Reviewed by: Jill, 2018/03/11We had such a good time. There was 7 of us in our group. Some of us had been to Oahu before and some had not. We wanted to take a smaller, more personal tour. So we could all be TOGETHER and learn some of the history of the islands while seeing all the sights.
Our driver was insightful, and fun. He answered all of our inquiries with so much knowledge.
Everyone of us enjoyed the whole tour. It was nice to be able to talk, visit, take pictures and not have to worry about driving and finding the way ourselves.
We didn't feel rushed... got to see everything at each stop.

Outstanding Tour

There just happened to be several hula dancers and a musician that sang for a couple that got engaged. The shrimp was ono! The ube popsicle, too! Waimea Falls was also a treat. There was even a Farmers Market with local fruit and food. Gotta try the ice cream bananas. So good!

Tour was great! Weather was a downer

We heard from other people that the lunch at the burger place was very good. It started to rain right after lunch which cut short afternoon activities. AC took us to the Dole plantation to try to make up for the rain. AC really tried to make the day better for us.

Great way to see the whole island.

She was also very good about teaching us some of the Hawaiin language. A very important part of the culture. One thing would have made this better would have been a better lunch menu. The buffet at Kualoa ranch was limited.

Around the island
Reviewed by: Cruisers, 2018/02/01This tour was very nice. We were picked up on time and transferred to a second bus. The driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable about many things Hawaiian. He was friendly, entertaining and very personable. The stops were interesting, although it seemed a bit like we moved from one tourist shopping to another. The times were adequate at most of the stops. However, although the last stop at the Dole Planatation was an hour, we were advised to not take the 20minute train ride as it would possibly make us miss the ride back to our hotel. There were no tours at the temple or plantation which was disappointing, but plenty of shopping! The driver apparently thought there were be more traffic as we were at our hotel about two hours earlier than we expected. We would have enjoyed more time at the North Shore since we did not stop there. Maybe that could be added?

I am very impressed with Polinesian Adventures Tours. They are exceptional, and really took care of us when we got tied up in traffic, redirecting us to another pick up point. I give them 5 Stars! Excellent!

North Shore Hiking Tours from Haleiwa with Expert Local Guide & Lunch
Awesome trip
Reviewed by: Totti, 2018/01/04Really fun riding the military truck and the hike was awesome. Little challenging for people who aren’t used to hiking. This hike is different because it is full of muds and slippery areas. Also you have to cross the 4 streams. Super fun but not recommended for families with kids.

Our driver was wunderful driving us savely and with some nice jokes at a side he teached us interesting facts on the Sites, we were passing and the people Livingstones here.
