I was a bit anxious about horseback riding in the blazing sun, so I chose the sunset time. It turned out to be a great decision! The breeze was pleasant, and the scenery was truly beautiful.

I met a slightly free-spirited horse. However, the instructor was always nearby, which made me feel safe and allowed me to enjoy the experience.

Since it was a plan with shuttle service from the hotel, we took a large bus for about an hour to get to the location. The instructor during the horseback riding spoke in English, but there was also an explanation provided by a Japanese staff member beforehand, so I think it’s fine even if you don’t understand English. I didn’t quite understand how Kualoa Ranch operated, and since it was the weekend, there were more people than on weekdays. After arriving, I realized I had about 2 hours of free time before the horseback riding, so I lined up at the ticket center, but all the other morning activities were sold out. I spent the time at the cafeteria, grabbing a light snack and browsing for souvenirs. Considering efficiency, I would have liked to combine another tour with the 2 hours, but the horseback riding experience was truly wonderful. The horses are well-trained, so they move along without needing much direction. During the 2-hour wait, I bought lunch at the cafeteria, which felt like a food court, so there was no obligation to buy a meal for each person. To avoid overeating before the activity, sharing was also possible. It seems that bringing in sandwiches or rice balls wouldn’t be a problem. By the way, it takes about an hour to get from the Sheraton to Kualoa Ranch. The bus is large and comfortable. The driver provided information about Hawaii’s attractions in English along the way, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. Overall, I’m glad I participated!

Riding horses at the filming locations of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World was a dream come true! I was really looking forward to it. When the day finally arrived, I got to ride a horse, and my excitement was through the roof. As we slowly progressed, breathtaking views unfolded, and it felt like being in a movie!! I was thrilled; it really seemed like dinosaurs could appear at any moment! The two hours flew by, but by the end, my legs were shaking. It felt like I was using muscles I don't usually engage. I was able to take a lot of photos, and we got a lovely four-shot with my husband and the horse! (We'll receive them via AirDrop later.) The weather was great, and I truly had a wonderful time. I'm grateful to the horses and the staff who guided us!

After about an hour on the bus from the meeting point, we arrived at Kualoa Ranch. Upon arrival, we gathered on the deck in front of the building entrance. The reception areas and schedules for each course were explained in English. Shortly after, our names were called, and we received a voucher detailing the activity's reception time, start time, and the return bus schedule. The reception time was strict, and they wouldn't accept us early. While shoulder bags and items hanging around the neck were not allowed, smartphones were permitted. Only still photos could be taken; videos were not allowed. However, if a GoPro was secured to the body and not held in hand, it was fine. For small personal items and water bottles, we could borrow a small bag to hang on the saddle, so anything that fit in there could be brought along.

The course offered stunning views of the ocean after passing through the forest, but I was most looking forward to the Jurassic Park filming location, which had a vast grassy valley. Unfortunately, the path to it was under maintenance, and our time was shortened by 30 minutes, resulting in a 25% refund later. My first horseback riding experience was fun, but my backside became sore, and the pain lingered for three days. (laughs) Still, it's a shame I couldn't see the valley, so I would like to try again.

コースは林間を抜けると海が見えて来て素晴らしい景色のコースでしたが、1番楽しみにしていたジュラシックパークのロケ地で草原が広がる谷には途中の道が整備中で行く事が出来ず、時間も30分短縮されたため後から25%の返金がありました。初めての乗馬は楽しかったけどお尻が痛くなり、痛みは3日間尾を引きました。（笑）
それでも谷が見れなかったのは残念なのでまたリベンジしたいと思います。
