The Views were breathtaking...couldnt think of any better way to explore the ranch then on horseback!

I booked the lunch ride for myself and Daughter in June of 2007. I have to commend the Gunstock Ranch, we had such a wonderful time with our 2 tour guides and saw the beautiful sights of Oahu from the bottom to the top. Were we found seashells on the very top of the mountain and mongoose along the path to get there. The Lunch and the company the tour forward will last us forever until we can get back again to do it all over, I would not hesitate to recommend this extremely enjoyable activity. If you ever need a recommendation please let me know.

Date of participation: March 19, 2007 (Monday). We participated as a couple. Gunstock Ranch is about an hour and a half by car from Waikiki, located beyond the Polynesian Cultural Center. The area is lush and green, quite different from the rocky terrain of the Big Island, making it suitable for horseback riding. We gathered at 8:30 in the morning. It was just the two of us participating. After the rain, the greenery and rainbow were beautiful. We signed some documents, learned the basics of horseback riding, and mounted our horses. We proceeded with three horses into the greenery. Along the way, the female guide asked, "RUN?" and when I answered "YES," we started to gallop. The horse I rode was well-trained and very responsive. Since it was a horse that wanted to run, I hardly had to kick it at all. We mostly galloped except for the climbs and descents to the hill and some slippery red dirt areas. The trees on both sides formed an arch, and we moved through it at a comfortable speed. The guide picked guava fruit for us, which was sour and delicious. When we reached the top of the hill, we had a 360-degree view. We could see the ocean as well. The wind felt nice, and the view was amazing. The hour flew by. It was a lot of fun.

ガンストック牧場はワイキキから車で約１時間半、ポリネシアカルチュアルセンターの先にあります。緑が一面に広がっていて、ハワイ島のゴツゴツした地面とは違い、乗馬に適していました。朝、８時半に集合。参加は私たち夫婦２人のみ。雨上がりで緑と虹がとてもきれいです。書類にサインをし、乗馬の基本を教えてもらい騎乗。緑の中へ３頭で進んでいきます。途中、女性のガイドさんから「ＲＵＮ？」と言われたので「ＹＥＳ」と答えると駆け足開始。乗った馬は良く調教されていてとてもよく言うことを聞きます。走りたがりの馬だったのでほとんど蹴らずにすみました。丘までの上り下りや、赤土むき出しで滑りやすい場所以外はほとんど駆け足です。両側の木がアーチになっていて、その下を心地よいスピードで進みます。ガイドさんがグァバの実を採ってくれます。すっぱくておいしい。丘のてっぺんに上ると、そこからは３６０度の視界が開けます。海も見えます。風も気持ちよく最高の眺めです。あっという間の１時間でした。とても楽しかったです。

I was able to go to various places, and it was a lot of fun. I even got to visit Jurassic Park. My friend had their first experience riding a horse, and they said it was great because the horse was very gentle! As for me, since I have experience riding, I honestly felt it was a bit lacking. However, the horses are cute. I want to ride again.

いろいろなところへいけてとても楽しかったですよ。ジェラシックパークのところへもいけたし。友達は乗馬初体験だったのでとてもおとなしい馬でよかった！っていってました。私は乗馬経験者だったので正直物足りないかなという印象。しかし、馬はかわいいですね。また乗りたくなりました。

I enjoyed an hour of horseback riding on May 9, 2014. Since it was my first time riding, I was a bit scared at first, but the horse was very calm and walked slowly, so I got used to it quickly. It might be a bit lacking for experienced riders, but it's perfect for beginners. However, both my husband and I had muscle pain in our groin area the next day.

We encountered a heavy downpour during the ride, and I was impressed that the horse managed to keep walking even while slipping a bit. Next time, I’d like to ride for two hours. The four-wheeler buggy also looked quite interesting.

05/09/14に乗馬1時間を楽しみました。初めての乗馬だったので、最初は、少し怖かったですが、非常におとなしく、ゆっくり歩いてくれたので、すぐ慣れました。乗馬経験者には物足りないかもしれませんが、初心者には、もってこいかも、しかし夫婦二人とも次の日は、足の付け根部分が筋肉痛になりました。
　途中激しいスコールにあい、少し馬もすべりながらがんばって歩いてくれたので、感激しました。今度は2時間乗って見たいです。あと4輪バギーもなかなか面白そうでした。

I participated with my parents, who were experiencing horseback riding for the first time, while I had some experience but was trying Western style for the first time. Before joining, I read some negative comments and was worried about whether my parents would be okay (my father had injured his left hand before our trip to Hawaii and couldn't use it), but during the ride, the staff kindly checked on my father in simple Japanese. My mother, who initially looked anxious on the horse, was very satisfied by the end of the two hours, saying, "I want to ride a little longer!" As someone who has experience in horseback riding, I felt it was a bit lacking, but trying Western style for the first time was interesting, and the scenery was wonderful, allowing us to enjoy it leisurely. The staff member who galloped alongside our line was cool and I was envious (laughs). The view from the horse's back is different and lovely, so I highly recommend it to those who haven't tried it yet.

乗馬初体験の父母と、乗馬やってるけどウェスタンスタイルは初めての私の三人で参加しました。参加する前は、こちらの良くないコメントを読んで、初めての父母は大丈夫なのか心配だったのですが（父はハワイ前に左手を怪我して使えない状態でしたし）、実際は道中、スタッフの方がまめに片言の日本語で父の事も気遣ってくれ、最初は馬の上で不安な顔をしていた母も、２時間終わる頃には「もう少し乗っていたい！」と言っていたくらいに大満足でした。乗馬体験者の私は少し物足りないかな~って感じでしたが、ウェスタンスタイルで乗るのも初めてで興味深く、景色も素晴らしくてゆったりと楽しめました。駈歩で私達の列の横を走るスタッフの方がかっこよく、うらやましかったです(笑)。馬の背から見る景色はまた違って素敵ですので、未体験の方はぜひおすすめします。

Four-wheel buggies are definitely not difficult vehicles to ride. However, my friend kept going off course, and due to the dangers like falling off cliffs, we ended up having to take a different route from the other participants. I was really disappointed because I wanted to race around the mountains. By the way, the course is a riding trail with gentle paths. There were piles of dung along the side paths, which made me feel even more disappointed. The one happy thing was that the staff leading us allowed us to experience picking papayas☆ They were really delicious when we ate them with ice cream. I definitely recommend participating with someone who has a similar level of physical ability.

四輪バギーは決して難しい乗り物ではないです。しかし、私の友人はコースアウトばかりしてしまい、崖からの転落などの危険があるため、他の参加者とは別のコースを走ることになりました。山を駆け巡りたかったのに本当に残念な気持ちにでした。ちなみにコースはなだらかな道が続く乗馬コースです。横道にはバフンが山ほど転がっていて、更に残念な気持ちになりました。ただひとつうれしいことは、そんな私たちの先導してくれるスタッフの方がパパイヤ採りを体験させてくれたことです☆アイスを入れて食べたら本当においしかったです。是非、自分と同じ位の運動能力がある人と参加するべきですよ。

It was my first time horseback riding, and I took the two-hour course. I was in control of the horse myself, and unless there was a major issue, the staff didn't assist, but that actually made me feel like I was handling the horse, creating a memorable experience that is hard to come by. The two-hour course allowed us to explore Hawaii's nature, including movie filming locations, and the scenery was wonderful. Don't question why horseback riding in Hawaii; definitely give it a try. It will surely become a great memory.

初めての乗馬で２時間コースでした。馬を操るのは自分だけで、よっぽどのことが無い限りスタッフは助けてくれませんでしたが、それが逆に、自分がこの馬を扱ってるんだという気持ちになり、なかなか体感できない思い出となりました。２時間コースは映画のロケ地などハワイの自然に触れられるコースを行くことが出来、景色もすばらしかったです。なんでハワイで乗馬なの？と思わず、是非参加してみてください。きっと良い思い出になりますよ。

Last time, it was my first horseback riding experience, so I enjoyed it for an hour, but this time, since it was my second, I decided to try the two-hour course. The two-hour course allowed us to explore a vast ranch that was also used for filming Jurassic Park, and I had a great time while enjoying views of the ocean and mountains. The horses used are well-trained and gentle enough for beginners to handle, and they are very cute. It's convenient to hang your camera around your neck so you can manage it with one hand. I will definitely go again next time!

前回は、初の乗馬だったので一時間で楽しみましたが、今回は二度目なので二時間にしてみました。二時間コースは、ジュラシックパークの撮影でも使用された広大な牧場を馬上から見学するものでしたが、海、山を眺めながら楽しく過ごしました。使用される馬は、きちんと調教されていて初心者でも操れる程おとなしく、とても可愛いですよ。カメラは、片手でも操れる様に首から提げておいた方が便利ですよ。次回も絶対行きます！

I participated on June 25, 2004. We left the hotel at 1:30 PM and returned around 6:20 PM.
All the participants were foreigners, but the guide spoke both Japanese and English, so there were no issues.
The guide humorously explained how to ride the horses in Japanese, and then we all walked in the mountains for about an hour.
As advice, since the horses tend to go off to eat grass, I recommend wearing long pants!
Also, I think it's better not to bring large luggage while riding. This may not apply to those who are experienced, but...
I heard there is a place to store your belongings. However, it's not advisable for valuables, as there is a risk of them getting lost!
I plan to participate again.

04年6月25日に参加しました。時間的には13時30分ホテルを出発して18時20分頃ホテルに着きました。
参加者は全て外国の方でしたが、ガイドの方が日本語、英語と両方話す方なので問題はありませんでした。
馬の乗り方などもユーモアを含めて日本語で説明し、以後みんなで山を1時間ぐらい歩きました。
アドバイスとして馬が草を食べるために、いろんな所にいってしまうので長ｽﾞﾎﾞﾝがおすすめ！！
後、大きな荷物も持って乗らない方が良いと思います。なれている方は別ですが・・・
預ける所があるそうです。貴重品などはダメですが・・・なくなる恐れがありますので！！
私はまた参加しようと思っています。

I was confident in my driving skills, so I thought it would be easy, but it turned out to be more difficult than I expected. The instructor joked, "Do you have a license?" I couldn't help but move my body, but the vehicle didn't go as I thought it would if I didn't operate the steering wheel, so I was a bit desperate. However, the natural mountain course was thrilling and interesting. It seems there are a limited number of vehicles, so I was glad I made a reservation in advance.

運転には自信があったから、簡単かと思ったけど、以外に難しかった。
ライセンス持ってる？なんてインストラクターに冗談を言われたりして。
どうしても体を動かしてしまうけど、ハンドルを操作しないと思ったように進まなかったりして、ちょっと必死でした。
でも自然の山道のコースが、スリルがあって面白かった。台数に限りがあるみたいで、事前に予約していって
よかったと思いました。

The horse I rode was named Chocolate, which sounded delicious. It was well-behaved, and the instructor was nearby (also on horseback), so I felt safe while riding.
The lush, magnificent scenery spread out before me, and it felt wonderful to ride leisurely through it.

私が乗った馬はチョコレート、美味しそう名前でした。お行儀もよく、インストラクターも近くにいる（馬に乗って)
ので安心して乗っていられました。
緑豊な壮大な景色が広がり、そこをのんびり乗馬して、とても気持ちがよかったです。
