However, the course and the order of walking are predetermined, so it might be a bit unsatisfying for those who are experienced in horseback riding. Nevertheless, you can still ride at breathtaking viewpoints.

I couldn't get a reservation in the morning, but I was able to book one starting at 2 PM. It took just over an hour to arrive from Honolulu. When I went to the reception, I was instructed to wait around until 3 PM.

Before 3 PM, we watched a video for the explanation. Then we quickly started horseback riding. There were six of us in three groups, and we were the only Japanese. An American woman gave the instructions, and we set off. We crossed hills, passed the filming locations of Jurassic Park and King Kong, and went further to the foot of a higher mountain. The ocean was beautiful.

We rode for a solid two hours, and my legs started to hurt, but it was fun. The horses were well-trained, and the staff were kind; it was okay even if you couldn't speak English. It seems reservations are hard to come by, so I recommend booking early. I would like to go again next year.

This was my second visit to Kualoa Ranch. I was worried because the pick-up from the Sheraton was about 30 minutes late, but the horseback riding experience went as scheduled. Riding while looking at the mountain range and the ocean was amazing. The instructor pointed out that my saddle was tilted and needed adjustment, but I couldn't get it right until the end, which may have put a burden on the horse.
Hawaii has both the ocean and mountains. While there are trekking options in the mountains, the horseback riding experience was so good!
However, perhaps because of the bus delay, we had to get on the return bus immediately after the horseback riding, so there was no time for a meal or souvenir shopping. Well, it was nice to get back early.

In the early morning, I was picked up at a nearby hotel. The lobby was quite crowded with people participating in tours to various destinations. The pickup was significantly delayed compared to the scheduled time. The large bus was almost full.

I had never been horseback riding before, so I was nervous as I got on. The horse was smart and cute, but I learned that I shouldn't let it eat grass. However, the horse would nibble here and there, so I had to pull firmly to teach it that it was not allowed, which was quite challenging. Additionally, the instructor would sometimes give commands that made the horse start running to catch up, which was a bit scary. Still, being able to ride in the beautiful sea and nature of Hawaii became a wonderful memory for me. Two hours might be a bit long; my tailbone hurt, and sitting the next day was really tough! (laughs)

On the way there, I had to kill time until it was my turn to participate (I think booking activities early in the morning helps reduce waiting time), but on the way back, I liked that I could return at my preferred time.

それでもハワイの綺麗な海と自然の中で乗馬できたのはとても楽しい思い出になりました。
２時間は少々長いかもしれません、お尻の骨が痛くなり翌日座るのが本当に大変でした。（笑）

行きは自分が参加するまでの時間まで時間を潰さなければいけませんでしたが（アクティビティを朝いちでご予約されるのが待ち時間が少なくて済むと思います）帰りは自分が好きな時間に帰れるので良いと思います。

As a couple in our 60s, I felt a bit anxious about whether we would be okay, but once we got on the horses, those worries quickly disappeared. The horses were so well-trained. When the horse in front started walking, ours followed suit, and when it stopped, ours did too. Even if there was a bit of disruption, pulling the reins as instructed made them listen.

While riding, we enjoyed the beautiful ocean view and the sound of the waves, spending a blissful time. Our instructor, Koji, provided excellent sightseeing information, sharing the names of many flowers blooming in town and details about Hawaii. We were able to see vast pineapple fields and sea turtles as well. In Haleiwa, he guided us to the restrooms and famous shops, so we didn’t get lost. He also took us to a delicious garlic shrimp restaurant, and on the way back, we toured the east coast and stopped by a souvenir shop where we could sample coffee. It was truly a wonderful tour that left us very satisfied. Thank you very much.

ハレイワの町ではトイレの場所、有名店を教えて下さり迷うことなく
過ごせました。ガーリックシュリンプの美味しいお店も案内して下さり
帰りは東海岸の方を周っていただき、コーヒーの試飲できる土産店にも
よって頂きました。本当に満足できる素晴らしいツアーでした。

I have been horseback riding at Mother Farm in Japan, but it only lasted about 30 seconds with a staff member leading the horse, so I didn't have high expectations. However, here I was able to ride the horse myself and control it for 2 hours, which was a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. The 2 hours flew by and I didn't feel tired at all.

There are instructions in Japanese on how to operate the horse, so even those who don't understand English can feel at ease. This is an activity I want to do again when I go to Hawaii next time.

My first time in Haleiwa. I participated during the May holiday. The driver (who was Japanese) was very good.

It rained from the morning on the day of the trip. After we set off, the horseback riding was canceled. The driver informed us, "You can get a full refund for the cancellations." We were supposed to have three groups that day, but since the others canceled, it was just my family that set off. We only canceled the horseback riding and received a $100 refund per person.

We visited the murals in downtown Honolulu, a shop where we could sample coffee, and Dole Pineapple. After that, we entered Haleiwa while seeing the famous sign, and the driver kindly explained the shops from the car. Since it was still early for lunch, we went to a soap factory and then returned to Haleiwa for a garlic shrimp lunch at the recommended "CAMARON." The shrimp were already peeled, making them easy to eat. The driver was very kind, reserving seats for us and wiping off the benches from the rain. Even during our free time, I felt relaxed exploring since I had been informed about the famous spots from the car in advance. We also got to go to Matsumoto Shave Ice. On the way back, we were able to see three turtles up close on the beach.

In May, it can get quite chilly when it rains, so I think long sleeves are necessary. (We bought hoodies for the whole family at Dole.)

ホノルルのダウンタウンの壁画、コーヒーの試飲ができるショップ、ドールパイナップルへ。その後、有名な看板を見ながらハレイワに入り、車中からお店を丁寧に説明してもらいました。お昼にはまだ早い時間だったので、石けん工場へ行ってから、再度ハレイワに戻り、ガーリックシュリンプの昼食。お勧めの「CAMARON」へ。シュリンプの殻がむいてあるので食べやすいです。ドライバーさんが席を取ってくれたり、ベンチの雨を拭いてくれたりととても親切でした。自由行動でも、予め車中から名店を教えてもらっていたので、ゆっくり安心して散策できました。マツモトシェイブアイスにもゆけました。かえりには浜辺で3頭もカメを間近で見ることができました。
5月は雨が降るとかなり冷え込むので長袖が必要かと思います。（ドールで家族全員パーカーを買いました）。

The staff seemed unable to speak Japanese, but instructions were provided in Japanese, so there was no need to worry about the language barrier. I was shocked by the self-centered way of entertaining. This was the only tour during my stay in Hawaii that left me feeling unpleasant. Even though we were thanked at the end, the atmosphere in the vehicle was so quiet.

Everything about it was tedious, filled with sarcasm and unnecessary details, and the overall vibe of the tour (inside the vehicle) was far from pleasant.

This was my sixth time in Hawaii, but it was the first time I felt this way during any of the many optional activities I participated in. The only good thing was that I was able to go horseback riding in nice weather.

独りよがりの楽しませ方に愕然。今回のハワイ滞在で唯一嫌な気持ちになったツアーでした。最後はありがとうございましたの挨拶はされていながらも、シーンと車内もするほどでした。

The oldest participant was 69 years old, and the youngest was 2 years old. We were looking for activities that everyone could enjoy, and we requested this horseback riding experience. The local staff do not speak Japanese, but they are friendly and kind, using gestures to communicate, so I think even those who are not good at English will be fine.

First, they asked if we wanted to wear helmets, and if we chose not to, we were asked to sign a consent form. Then, under the guidance of Sheina, my 2-year-old daughter rode a pony while the adults rode larger horses, taking a leisurely 20-minute walk in a single file through the grasslands and bushes. The horses ridden by the adults would sometimes stop to eat grass, so we had to kick the stirrups to encourage them to move forward, or pull the reins to bring them back into line if they started to walk too fast. そしてシェイナさんの先導で2歳の娘はポニー、大人は大きな馬に乗って草原や茂みを約20分一列縦隊でお散歩するのですが、大人の乗る馬は途中で草を食べ始めたり止まったりするので、その都度あぶみを蹴って前進を促したり、逆に早足になったら手綱を引いて列に戻るよう促したりと、自分で馬を操作するなんて初めてのとても貴重な体験をさせていただきました。
最後は2歳の娘が乗っていたポニーにブラッシングやえさやりをさせてくれて、娘は大喜び（笑）帰国してもずっとポニーの話をしています（笑）
唯一の難点は、送迎がないのでノースショア方面まで自分で行かなければいけないことですが、どうしてもガンストック牧場でお願いしたかったのでガイド付きの車をチャーターしてハレイワ観光とセットで行くことにしました。
敷地が広大で馬に乗って見る景色は大変美しく、心地よい風と気候で癒されました。またハワイに訪れる際は立ち寄りたいと思います。

次回は、じぃじ&ばぁばの2人旅の予定なので、新婚旅行で行った(笑)タートルベイの乗馬に行きたいなぁ‼って言ってます。来年のお正月になりますが、その時もヨロシクお願いします。

We walked through "gentle hills" and "grasslands," with mountains on the left and the coastline on the right. We passed by the "Jurassic Park" sign and "Skull," which were filming locations from the movie, and crossed a "stream."

The two hours flew by without a dull moment. There were times when we picked up the pace, but it felt safe, and we could stop quickly, which was exciting. If you're used to cantering and jumping at a riding club, you might find it a bit lacking. The grasslands make you want to "run!" It would be even better if there were an advanced course available.

I've done Western trail riding a few times in Japan, but I had the impression that it was boring for the price. However, this experience was enjoyable.

There are many areas without shade, so wear long sleeves. You don't need a hat since you'll be wearing a helmet, but don't forget to bring water and your mobile phone, as you can store them in the saddle.

I was told that there was no reservation. I'm not sure if it was a mistake by Veltra or Polo Club, but although I was able to go horseback riding somehow, the attitude of the Polo Club was consistently poor, and I felt terrible even though I did nothing wrong. The phone support from Veltra was only in English, so I couldn't contact them right away. That was disappointing as well. Since I was really looking forward to the activity, I felt very let down.

It was great that the courses were different for one hour and two hours. Considering the waiting time, the pickup was at 10:20 (the bus took a while to arrive...). We started horseback riding at 12:15. While we were getting ready to ride, it started to rain, so we borrowed raincoats from the ranch and were all set. １人のスタッフに６人の日本人観光客のグループでした。ジェラシックパークのロケ地で、映画を思い出しながら、ゆっくりたっぷり２時間の乗馬でした。
