I was able to fully enjoy the beautiful nature on the two-hour course. It felt just like stepping into a movie, and I was satisfied just gazing at the scenery without needing detailed explanations. You can take pictures and selfies with your smartphone or camera, so I think it's best to carry them in a way that keeps them secure around your neck. Even small body bags are required to be stored in lockers, so please be aware that you'll be riding without any bags.

The horses walked calmly in a line, and they even grazed along the way, so there were no moments that felt dangerous. Riding for two hours can make your backside sore! I felt it for two days afterward, haha.

On the downside, the waiting time before the horseback riding was too long, which felt like a waste of time. If you have a rental car, I think it's better to choose the option without transportation.

マイナス点としては、乗馬までの待ち時間が長すぎて時間を無駄にしてしまうこと。レンタカーなどがある方は送迎不要を選択されるのが良いかと思います。

I experienced a two-hour course without transportation. It was the first time for all three of us to ride horses, but the horses were well-trained and it was fine. Above all, I was impressed by the magnificent scenery while swaying on the horse's back. I also saw an attraction for riding buggies, but it seemed quite dusty, so I overwhelmingly recommend horseback riding instead. However, the staff's friendliness was lacking, and there was no service to take family photos during the ride. Also, if you're unlucky, the helmets you are given can be quite smelly from sweat. I noticed some people brought thin towels to avoid the smell.

家族3人とも乗馬は初めてでしたが、馬は良く調教されていて大丈夫でした。何より馬の背に揺られながら眺める壮大な景観に感激しました。バギーに乗るアトラクションも見かけましたが、そちらは砂埃が大変そうで、乗馬の方が圧倒的にお勧めです。
ただ、スタッフの愛想が今ひとつで、途中で家族の写真を撮ってくれる等のサービスはありませんでした。また運が悪いと渡されるヘルメットが結構汗臭いことがあります。匂いが付かないように薄手のタオルを持ってきている方もおられました。

I suddenly decided to book a tour just two days later. I appreciate how kindly you responded to my last-minute request.
Everyone in our group was a beginner at horseback riding, and we had an 11-year-old child and a 73-year-old mother with us, so I was a bit anxious. However, they explained how to ride in detail beforehand, and surprisingly, it went quite smoothly! It was incredibly fun.

I have experienced horseback riding three times. Of those, two times were at the Kualoa Ranch. Riding through the mountains and grasslands felt great, but I really wanted to ride along the beach in Hawaii. This time, none of the owners (the representatives) spoke Japanese. Just before we started, there was a severe thunderstorm, and they communicated with us using a translation app on their smartphones to decide whether to cancel or not, keeping an eye on the situation until the time came. When the rain eased up a bit, we began our ride. Once we started walking, we were greeted with a stunning blue sky. Our wet horses and our clothes dried completely, and we were able to enjoy a leisurely ride. By the way, there is no shuttle service, so we rented a car to get there. As everyone mentioned, the entrance is a bit hard to find.

Last year, I participated in a tour with VELTRA during my trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, and it was so great that I decided to book again this time. At the request of my friend who accompanied me, we chose horseback riding. Since I had already experienced horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch, we opted for the beach horseback riding this time. I was told that beach horseback riding is recommended during this season as it is less affected by the weather compared to valley riding. On the way there, it started to rain, which made me worry, but while we were outside, we didn't need to use umbrellas and were able to fully enjoy the horseback riding. We even got to see sea turtles. Unlike the horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch, there isn't a place to store your belongings, so it's recommended to carry a bag for valuables that you can take with you while riding. When using a tour again, I will definitely use VELTRA.

この季節は渓谷乗馬より海辺乗馬が天候に左右されづらくお勧めとのこと。行きの車の中では雨が降ってきて心配しましたが、外に出ている間は傘をさすこともなく、乗馬も満喫できました。
ウミガメにも会うことができました。
クアロアランチの乗馬と違って、荷物を預けるところがないので、貴重品バッグは乗馬しながら持てるものがお勧めです。
ツアー利用の際には、またVELTRAさんを利用させて頂きます。

I got caught in a huge traffic jam, but it turned out to be a satisfying tour. I felt that it would have been nice if we had about 30 more minutes at the Dole Plantation and Haleiwa Town. Although I couldn't see any sea turtles at Alii Beach, I was glad to encounter one during the horseback riding experience. Perhaps because of the heavy traffic? The horseback riding was a private experience for my husband and me, which was really lucky. The horses were calm, so I felt safe riding them, and the time flew by. If I have the chance, I would like to join this tour again.

ドールプランテーションやハレイワタウンはあと30分くらいずつ時間が長ければ嬉しいなと感じました。
アリービーチではウミガメを見ることは出来ませんでしたが、乗馬体験時にウミガメと遭遇することが出来て良かったです。
大渋滞のおかげか？乗馬体験は夫婦で貸し切り状態で凄くラッキーでした。

Before the horseback riding, the staff provides an explanation in English, but I think you can understand the atmosphere of the conversation just by watching their gestures. This time, there was one female staff member accompanying the three of us and one foreign woman, and we leisurely progressed along the coast and grassy areas. As I had heard, the horse would stop and eat grass along the way, but I think that, including those moments, it’s an activity you can enjoy and laugh about. Listening to the quiet sound of the waves, we were able to spend a pleasant time in a relaxed mood. Since it is away from Waikiki, I recommend this program if you have some flexibility in your schedule.

The meeting place had a bus with people from various countries, but there were explanations in both English and Japanese, so it was reassuring. After arriving, we had free time until the activity, but actually, there are no personal areas to explore within Kualoa Ranch. Once you enter, there are check-in counters for each activity, and you can only wander around that area or eat. Since we had nearly two hours until the horseback riding, we were at a loss and spontaneously signed up for a movie location tour on-site (about $50). It was with a Japanese-speaking guide and very enjoyable. Fortunately, there happened to be an opening at just the right time, but otherwise, it might have been boring.

The horseback riding started suddenly after watching a Japanese video. You have to put your belongings in a paid locker, and while cameras are allowed, it's better to hang them around your neck since there are moments when both hands are needed. The horses are well-trained and move slowly, so even beginners should have time to take photos. There are some beautiful scenic spots, so definitely take advantage of that. Occasionally, a horse would stray off the path, but the guides (there were two for about ten people) would bring them back. It might have been because the girl taking a lot of selfies was on that horse, so the horse may have been distracted. If proper commands are given, they will likely respond well.

As for clothing, there were people wearing shorts and sandals who were not turned away, but since the sunlight is direct during horseback riding, I think knees can get really sunburned. 到着後、アクティビティの時間までは自由行動ですが、実はクアロア牧場の中って個人的に回れるエリアがないんです。入場すると各アクティビティのチェックインカウンターがあるのですが、その付近をうろうろするか、ご飯を食べるかしかないです。乗馬の時間まで2時間近くあったので持て余し、急遽現地で映画ロケツアーを申し込みました。(50ドルくらい。日本語のガイドさんでとても楽しかったです。)たまたまちょうどよい時間の空きがあったので良かったですが、そうじゃないと退屈かもしれません 。乗馬は、日本語のビデオを観たらいきなりスタートです。荷物は有料ロッカーへ、カメラはOKですが、両手を使う場面もあるので首から下げるほうが良いです。馬さんたちはよく調教されていてゆっくり回ってくれるので写真を取る余裕は初心者でもあると思います。景色がいいところもあるので是非。たまに道を外れる子もいましたが、ガイドさん(10人位の列に対して2人でした)が連れ戻したり、、、位はありましたが、自撮り棒で写真めっちゃ撮ってる女の子の乗ってた馬だったので手元がおろそかになってたんじゃないかと。たぶんちゃんと指示を出せば言うことは聞いてくれます。
ちなみに服装ですが、ショートパンツにサンダルでも断られず乗ってる人もいました。でも乗馬中は日差しがダイレクトなので、膝とかすごく焼けると思います。あと鐙を操作するので、やはりつま先と踵がしっかりカバーされた靴が良いと思いますのでVELTRAさんの注意事項は適切だとおもいました。

I participated in a two-hour course. Even though it had been a while since I rode a horse, the pre-ride lecture was quite simple: pull the reins to the right when you want to go right, and to the left when you want to go left. It also mentioned that if the horse starts eating grass, you should firmly pull the reins to stop it. I was a bit worried when I got on the horse, but it was very well-behaved and followed the horse in front of it perfectly. We went through a lush forest and then came across a path where we could see the ocean. There was also a place with several large dinosaur bones, which I assume was a filming location for Jurassic Park, making it quite enjoyable. I think it's best to carry your smartphone or camera hanging around your neck. There were moments when the horses acted up and started to trot quickly, and the instructor had to pull away horses that strayed from the line, so if you have pockets without zippers, you might drop something. I was told to leave my small body bag in a locker, possibly because it had a decent amount of stuff inside.

I am an experienced rider.
Because of my experience, I really enjoyed it.
I have never seen such breathtaking scenery.
The horses are well-trained and managed, so even without human commands, they start moving when the lead horse (staff) in front begins to walk.
There is no fast pace; it’s a slow and steady walk.
There are remnants of the Jurassic Park set, which were impressive to see.

I was searching for horseback riding experiences and was drawn to this plan because it offered a walk by the seaside. I was able to get there without getting lost using the rental car's navigation system. The local staff spoke only English, but there were Japanese instructions for horseback riding, and they also demonstrated with gestures, so even my elementary school-aged child could understand. It was a very sunny day, but the sea breeze was refreshing and felt great. While walking along the coast, I was told to look for sea turtles, but unfortunately, we couldn't see any. The horses were very well-behaved, walking slowly in a line. It was about an hour and a half walk; since I wasn't used to it, my backside got a little sore towards the end, but it was definitely a satisfying experience. I would love to repeat it if I have the chance again.

After getting on the shuttle bus from a nearby meeting point to our accommodation, I woke up to find we had arrived at Kualoa Ranch (laughs). I had heard reviews about the helmets being smelly, so I bought a cap at a 100 yen shop to wear.

We started horseback riding after watching a DVD with Japanese subtitles and receiving a brief explanation. I was a bit worried because the explanation was very simple, but the staff spoke some Japanese and provided polite support, so it was fine.

There was one specialized staff member for about six customers, who guided us while we rode the horses. The weather was great, and riding in such a beautiful setting was truly the best.

Since the riding time was two hours, my friend said they got "bored" halfway through, but I actually enjoyed it so much that I wanted to ride even longer. My friend, who has a weak core, said their lower body was swaying for the entire two hours with the horse's movements, which caused back pain. I recommend being mindful of your core while riding (laughs).

You couldn't bring anything except drinks and your phone while riding, but there are lockers available. Also, photography during the ride is allowed, but videos are not (because focusing on the screen can lead to falling off the horse).

It was fine to film videos as long as you secured a GoPro with a chest mount harness and didn’t focus on the screen. There were props used in movie filming and many great photo spots.

Long horseback rides and the scenery are experiences you can't easily have in Japan, so I'm really glad I went. Highly recommended!!

ヘルメットが臭いという口コミがあったので、１００均でキャップを買って行きました。
日本語字幕付きの説明DVDと、簡単な説明を受け乗馬開始。
あまりにも簡単な説明だったので心配になったのですが、スタッフさんは片言ですが日本語を話せて丁寧にサポートしてくれたので、大丈夫でした。
お客さん６人ほどに対して１人、乗馬専門のスタッフさんが担当し、馬に乗って先導してくれます。
天気も良く絶景の中での乗馬は、本当に最高でした。
乗馬時間が２時間もあるので、友人は途中から『飽きた』と言っていましたが、私はむしろもっと乗っていたいと思うほど楽しかったです。
体幹の弱い友人は、馬の動きと一緒に上半身が２時間ずっとユラユラしていたためか、腰が痛くなったそうです。
乗馬中は体幹を意識する事をお勧めします（笑）
乗馬の際は飲み物と携帯以外は持ち込めませんでした。ロッカーがあります。
また、乗馬中の写真撮影はOK、動画はNG（画面を注視すると落馬する危険があるから）
Goproをチェストマウントハーネスで固定して画面を注視しなければ、動画撮影大丈夫でした。
映画撮影で使われた大道具？小道具？が置かれていたり、映える撮影ポイントがたくさんありました。
長時間の乗馬も、景色も、日本ではなかなか体験できないので本当に行って良かったと思います。オススメ！！

I participated in a two-hour horseback riding experience starting at 12:15 PM. It included transportation from the hotel. However, instead of being picked up from the hotel where I stayed, I was instructed to go to one of four designated hotels in Honolulu that were closest to me. It's a good idea to confirm in advance which hotel you need to go to for pickup.

Since there was about an hour of waiting time before the horseback riding, I spent the time visiting souvenir shops and the beach, which was about a five-minute walk away. Before the riding, we received explanations through a Japanese video, so beginners need not worry. There were six participants, all of whom were Japanese, so I think they coordinate that.

The guide who accompanied us during the ride spoke only a little Japanese, just enough to give commands like "Right!" or "Stop!" After two hours of riding, my backside was sore and I had muscle pain, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, taking in the ocean views and passing by filming locations from Jurassic Park.

After the horseback riding, we waited for about 30 minutes before the bus picked us up and took us back to the same hotel around 3:30 PM. On the way back, there were many people, and we had to wait in line for quite a while to board the bus.

Overall, while the horseback riding tour is a bit pricey, I think it’s a great experience.

乗馬前には日本語のビデオで説明をうけるので初心者でも心配はいりません。一緒に参加者した人は六人で全員日本人でした。揃えてるんだと思います。乗馬中ついてきてくれたガイドさんは単語だけ少し日本語話せる程度で、右！とか止まって！とか指示をくれます。
二時間の乗馬でお尻は痛くなり筋肉痛になりましたが、海をみたりジュラシックパークの撮影場所を通ったりと見どころたくさんで大変満喫しました。
乗馬の後は30分くらい待ったあとバスで迎えに来たのと同じホテルまで3時30分くらいにつきました。帰りは人が多くてバスに乗るまで列にだいぶ並びました。
そもそも乗馬はツアー代が少し割高ですが、いい体験になると思います。

I was worried that my 11-year-old daughter, who is small in stature, might not be able to ride alone, but the horses were so well-behaved that no special training was needed. There was no guide for the scenery, so we simply enjoyed the beautiful views while gently riding along on our horses. (They were so calm that I almost dozed off, haha.)

Regarding the reservation, the voucher we received just before our visit was for a 9:30 AM horseback riding session. When we arrived early at the pickup location, we were told that there was no reservation. For some reason, there was a reservation for a ride starting at 12:30 PM instead. We all had a great time on the 1.5-hour course. My 9 and 11-year-old kids initially looked a bit anxious, but they got used to it and were very happy along the way. I had my first horseback riding experience. Since there is no shuttle service, you have to get to Kualoa Ranch on your own, either by rental car or The Bus (public bus). I took the 55 bus from Ala Moana Shopping Center, which took about an hour to get to Kualoa Ranch. If you buy a 1-day pass when you board, you can make the round trip for about $5.50, which is quite affordable, even though it takes some time on the way back. A taxi would likely be very expensive since it's located on the opposite side of Waikiki.

Most of the staff are locals, so you need to communicate in English, but before riding, they show you an instructional video in Japanese, so even if you don't understand English, you can get the basic knowledge of horseback riding in Japanese.

Since it was my first horseback riding experience and I wasn't used to it, I had some painful muscle soreness in my inner thighs afterward, but more than that, I was very satisfied because I could enjoy the magnificent nature at a leisurely pace. I actually wanted to try the ATV experience as well, but it was fully booked, so I hope to try the ATV experience on my next visit to Hawaii.

スタッフは殆ど現地の方ばかりなので英語でやりとりしなければなりませんが、乗馬前に日本語のインストラクトビデオを見せてもらえるので、もし英語が分からなくても乗馬の基礎知識は日本語で得られます。
はじめての乗馬体験で慣れていなかったため、終わった後内股の筋肉痛が辛かったですが、それ以上に雄大な自然の中をゆっくり楽しめたので大満足でした。本当はバギー体験もしたかったのですが、満席という事で予約が取れなかったので、次回ハワイ訪問時はバギー体験をしてみたいです。

The horses walk nicely, allowing us to ride for two hours while leisurely enjoying the scenery. At one point, when we fell behind, the guide gave the horse a little tap on the rear to speed up, which added a bit of thrill and was fun. There was a foreign participant at the front, and the guide was explaining something in English for them, but we couldn't understand. Since we walked in a line, it was also quite difficult to have conversations with my companions, making the activity feel somewhat lacking. The guide didn't engage us as much as on the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland; it felt more like riding through It's a Small World, just looking around. We walked mostly through the forest or among the trees, so there wasn't much concern about sunburn or heat. I've written quite a few negative things, but I think it's a good experience for horseback riding since it's not easy to ride alone for a long time in Japan. Overall, it's a nice tour for enjoying the scenery and the pleasant breeze while riding a horse.

お馬さんが良い子に歩いてくれるので、2時間ひたすら馬に乗ってゆっくり景色を楽しむ、という感じです。
途中、遅れを取った時にガイドの方が馬のお尻をちょっと叩いて駆け足になる、という場面があり、そこは少しスリルを感じられて楽しかったです。
先頭に外国人の参加者がいたので、その方たち向け？に英語で何か説明してたのですが、
私たちには分からず…
一列で並んで歩くので、同行者との会話もなかなか難しく、アクティビティとしては物足りなさを感じました。
ディズニーランドのジャングルクルーズぐらいガイドさんが盛り上げてくれるわけではなく、
スモールワールドくらい、乗り物に乗ってひたすら周りを眺めるという感じです。
森？木々の中を歩くことが多いので、日焼けや灼熱の心配はさほど要らないです。
マイナスな事を書きすぎましたが、
手綱を持たれる事なく一人で長い時間の乗馬は日本ではなかなか出来ないと思うので、
乗馬経験としては良かったし、馬に乗ってゆっくり景色や気持ち良い風を楽しむ、ということでは良いツアーだと思います。
