First time horseback riding and I can honestly say we had a wonderful experience. They made sure to have a safety demo in the beginning prior to jumping on to be sure everyone was safe and comfortable enough to ride. Nice peaceful scenery and the breeze off of the ocean made the horseback riding extremely relaxing. Towards the end of the tour, we also stopped to take some pics on the beach with the horses!! Our tour guide Becca was the BEST! Definitely will go back and make sure to request her as our tour guide again.

In Japan, where safety is a top priority, my 5-year-old grandchild was probably not allowed to ride a horse alone, but here, they were able to ride by themselves and were very satisfied!

We enjoyed horseback riding at our own levels, just relaxing as a family on the ranch.

Of course, communication was a challenge since Japanese was not spoken, but it was a refreshing experience for the grandchildren, which was great.

While I was signing the consent form and choosing a helmet, a video about how to handle the horses and safety precautions was playing, so I couldn't watch it much, and since it was my first time riding, I felt very anxious.

I thought I would be able to ride along the beach of Kaneohe Bay as shown in the pictures, but I could only see it from a great distance. Also, it mentioned, "You must have seen that famous tree from the 'What tree is that?' commercial," and I thought I would be able to see that big tree, but I couldn't. (I also couldn't find the monkey pod tree.)

The riding itself was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but the horse was very cute and I had a lot of fun. ^_^ Other people's horses had some unexpected moments, like stopping to eat grass or going to the bathroom. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

他の方のお馬さんは、途中で道草を食べたり、うんちやおしっこをしたりハプニングがありました。

This time, we went to the outlet in the morning, so we arrived in less than an hour from there. Our start time was scheduled for 3 PM, but since we arrived early, they changed it to start at 2:30 PM. Kualoa has been the filming location for various movies, and both the mountains and the ocean offer stunning views. Although there are quite a few days with bad weather, we were fortunate to have nice weather this time. It's not often that I get the chance to go horseback riding in Japan, so it was enjoyable. The horses remember the course, and they provide instructions on how to operate them, so there's no need to worry. If you want to store your belongings, there are lockers available. The guide's role is to bring the horse back if it lags behind or strays off the path, using a whistle or whip, but during that time, the horse may suddenly start trotting, so it's best to be prepared for that jolt.

We visited with four adults, all over 20 years old. Although it was a morning course, horseback riding while overlooking the beautiful coastline of North Shore was absolutely fantastic. Our group consisted only of our family of four, but there were two support staff members, and it was no problem even for those who were mostly beginners. The riding time and course distance were just right, without any excess or deficiency. However, the restrooms are basic, so it's advisable to take care of that beforehand.

I was healed by the great nature of Hawaii.
It felt wonderful to ride a horse in such magnificent surroundings.
One hour feels a bit short, so I recommend two hours.

The pickup at the Sheraton was a bit confusing because it was at the same bus stop as other tours, but thanks to the bus arriving on time, I was able to board properly.
The horseback riding was a two-hour course. We got to see the beautiful ocean, majestic mountains, and even a movie set, and the tour guide provided explanations in English. There were no stops for photos while dismounting the horse. The horses were smart and mostly just sat there, but the two hours flew by.
I also saw buggies running around, but I got the impression that horseback riding allowed for a more leisurely experience.
One thing to note is that the bus was cold.

If you are using the shuttle bus, I recommend dashing to the ticket counter located to the left front after you exit the first building (the shop or café) you enter. When a large group arrives by bus, you can spend quite a bit of time waiting in line here.

You are not allowed to carry even a body bag while horseback riding, but there are quite large pockets on both sides of the horse, so you can fit a compact camera, smartphone, or a 100 yen raincoat. It's not too dirty, and you can access your items while riding.

Many reviews mentioned the smell of the helmets, so I brought a non-woven sheet to place inside the helmet. Well, it's just a comfort measure. There was also deodorizing spray available at the helmet storage area. I noticed while riding that the chin strap smelled worse than the helmet. Since it's made of fabric, there's not much you can do about it. Maybe just wipe it with wet wipes before use?

Additionally, I experienced a little trouble. I made the reservation about three days before leaving Japan. あと、私が体験したちょっとしたトラブル。日本を出る３日ほど前に予約を入れました。届いたバウチャーには10:30ピックアップで11:15乗馬となっており、間に合うわけがありません。ベルトラのサイトからの問い合わせ先はクアロア牧場に直にお問合せを、となっています。仕方なくクアロア牧場に問い合わせのメールをしましたが返事は無く、はっきりしないまま日本を出発。ハワイに到着してからホテルのコンシェルジュに確認の電話をしてもらいました。私からのメールで変更してくれたのか、単にバウチャーに誤記載されていたのかはわかりませんが、乗馬が12:15になっているとのことで安心しました。その翌日にベルトラから「バウチャーに変更ありました」のメールが来ました。自分で対処した結果なんですけど（笑）。そのまた翌日（乗馬に行く前夜）にベルトラの方から部屋に電話がありました。電話までくださったことには誠意を感じますが、（すごく細かい内容なわけでもない）問い合わせを当事者間でするなら正直ベルトラを通す意味が無いと思いました。

I had a great time horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch, where vast landscapes spread out before you. It's a bit of a distance to Kualoa Ranch, but it's worth the trip. It was unfortunate that the weather was cloudy and windy, but I think the views would be clear and beautiful on a sunny day. I thought I might get tired after two hours, but I didn't feel tired at all; the fun outweighed everything.

乗馬はとても楽しかったです！
馬も性格があるらしく、なかなか言うことを聞いてくれない馬もいるようでした。(餌の草ばかりに目がいってしまい、何度も足を止める馬がいました…笑)

2-Hour Horseback Riding Course

I wanted to cancel, but I couldn't.
I went wearing a raincoat.

The horses were very cute and it was fun!

I got completely soaked from the rain, and without a towel, waiting for about an hour for the bus in the cold was hell.
I really wished they had towels available...

Even though the horseback riding was scheduled for 11:00, I was picked up at 6:50 in the morning for some reason.
It took 45 minutes to get to Kualoa Ranch.
That left us with almost four hours of free time.

There are places to eat, but there were very few chairs indoors.

The horseback riding ended at 13:00, and the next bus was at 14:30, so we had to wait again.

I wish they had provided information about the bus schedule before making the reservation.

I recommend booking without transportation and using Uber or a taxi to get there.

The horses were adorable, and the scenery was amazing.
It would be perfect to go on a sunny day!
