Our group consisted only of our family of four, but there were two support staff members, and it was no problem even for those who were mostly beginners. The riding time and course distance were just right, without any excess or deficiency. However, the restrooms are basic, so it's advisable to take care of that beforehand.

The pickup at the Sheraton was a bit confusing because it was at the same bus stop as other tours, but thanks to the bus arriving on time, I was able to board properly.
The horseback riding was a two-hour course. We got to see the beautiful ocean, majestic mountains, and even a movie set, and the tour guide provided explanations in English. There were no stops for photos while dismounting the horse. The horses were smart and mostly just sat there, but the two hours flew by.
I also saw buggies running around, but I got the impression that horseback riding allowed for a more leisurely experience.
One thing to note is that the bus was cold.

If you are using the shuttle bus, I recommend dashing to the ticket counter located to the left front after you exit the first building (the shop or café) you enter. When a large group arrives by bus, you can spend quite a bit of time waiting in line here.

You are not allowed to carry even a body bag while horseback riding, but there are quite large pockets on both sides of the horse, so you can fit a compact camera, smartphone, or a 100 yen raincoat. It's not too dirty, and you can access your items while riding.

Many reviews mentioned the smell of the helmets, so I brought a non-woven sheet to place inside the helmet. Well, it's just a comfort measure. There was also deodorizing spray available at the helmet storage area. I noticed while riding that the chin strap smelled worse than the helmet. Since it's made of fabric, there's not much you can do about it. Maybe just wipe it with wet wipes before use?

Additionally, I experienced a little trouble. I made the reservation about three days before leaving Japan. The voucher I received stated a 10:30 pickup and 11:15 horseback riding, which was impossible to make. The contact information on the Veltra site directed me to contact Kualoa Ranch directly. I reluctantly emailed Kualoa Ranch, but received no response, and left Japan without clarity. After arriving in Hawaii, I had the hotel concierge make a confirmation call. I’m not sure if they changed it based on my email or if there was just a mistake on the voucher, but I was relieved to find out that the horseback riding was at 12:15. The next day, I received an email from Veltra saying, "There has been a change to your voucher." It was a result of my own efforts, though (laughs). The following day (the night before the horseback riding), I received a call from Veltra in my room. I appreciated the sincerity of the call, but honestly, if inquiries are to be made between the parties involved, I think there’s no point in going through Veltra.

ヘルメットの臭いのことを言われているレビューが多かったので、不織布シートを持っていってヘルメットの内側に当てて使いました。まぁ気休めです。ヘルメット置き場には消臭スプレーも置いてありました。乗馬中に気づいたのはヘルメットよりあごひもが臭うんだってこと。これは布製なので対処しようが無いかな。使う前にウェットティッシュで拭くくらい？
あと、私が体験したちょっとしたトラブル。日本を出る３日ほど前に予約を入れました。届いたバウチャーには10:30ピックアップで11:15乗馬となっており、間に合うわけがありません。ベルトラのサイトからの問い合わせ先はクアロア牧場に直にお問合せを、となっています。仕方なくクアロア牧場に問い合わせのメールをしましたが返事は無く、はっきりしないまま日本を出発。ハワイに到着してからホテルのコンシェルジュに確認の電話をしてもらいました。私からのメールで変更してくれたのか、単にバウチャーに誤記載されていたのかはわかりませんが、乗馬が12:15になっているとのことで安心しました。その翌日にベルトラから「バウチャーに変更ありました」のメールが来ました。自分で対処した結果なんですけど（笑）。そのまた翌日（乗馬に行く前夜）にベルトラの方から部屋に電話がありました。電話までくださったことには誠意を感じますが、（すごく細かい内容なわけでもない）問い合わせを当事者間でするなら正直ベルトラを通す意味が無いと思いました。

2-Hour Horseback Riding Course

Unfortunately, it was raining quite heavily...
I wanted to cancel, but I couldn't.
I went wearing a raincoat.

The horses were very cute and it was fun!

I got completely soaked from the rain, and without a towel, waiting for about an hour for the bus in the cold was hell.
I really wished they had towels available...

Even though the horseback riding was scheduled for 11:00, I was picked up at 6:50 in the morning for some reason.
It took 45 minutes to get to Kualoa Ranch.
That left us with almost four hours of free time.

There are places to eat, but there were very few chairs indoors.

The horseback riding ended at 13:00, and the next bus was at 14:30, so we had to wait again.

I wish they had provided information about the bus schedule before making the reservation.

I recommend booking without transportation and using Uber or a taxi to get there.

The horses were adorable, and the scenery was amazing.
It would be perfect to go on a sunny day!

The staff are all locals, but they first showed us a Japanese video, so it was okay even if you’re not good at English! The horses are very smart and respond well to simple signals. We were able to enjoy a leisurely horseback ride on a beautiful, pleasant beach! Since it’s a bit of a long time, it might be good to bring a drink. They do sell some drinks locally, so if you ask the staff, you can buy them, but they might not have change, so you may need some small bills.

I encountered a free-spirited horse named Goobee, and I was able to have various experiences while being guided by a staff member. Since it was January, we encountered some rain, but my UNIQLO Pocketable Parka came in handy, so I recommend it for those who want to experience this during the rainy season. If it rains from the start, it seems there are rental items available as well. You can only bring your phone or a waist pouch, probably to avoid any hindrance while the horse is running. There are also paid lockers available for other belongings ($5), and only $1 to $5 bills are accepted. Although it was only about two hours, I really felt how free my daily life is. I experienced all kinds of emotions with the horse, felt the great outdoors, and had a fulfilling experience that I can't get in my everyday life!

I went horse back riding with my sister not really knowing what to expect. But let me tell you something, it was incredible! Kali, our tour guide, took us through beautiful path ways. It was nice to get out of the city, especially cause I’m from LA, and experience the country side on a horse. The horses were calm and I felt comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommend!

Riding while feeling the nature was a valuable experience. The 2-hour course was more than enough to enjoy it. Basically, you control the horse by yourself, but since the horses are trained, they follow the horse in front of them. When they occasionally stray off the path, the ranch staff provides support, which is reassuring. My family, who had only experienced riding with someone pulling the reins, was initially scared, but they soon got used to it and enjoyed themselves. I would like to participate again!

On the day of the event, it started pouring rain in the afternoon, and we headed there with the mindset of possibly canceling. However, the horse I rode seemed to have been out in the rain, as both the saddle and the horse were wet, and the moment I sat down, my backside and the inside of my pants got wet. As mentioned in other experiences, the horses were very well-trained, and I was able to enjoy the ride without any worries, even as a first-timer. The female guide was very pleasant and attentive, ensuring we moved smoothly even when one of the horses started eating grass along the way. The scenery was truly wonderful, and the two hours flew by. I kept my smartphone in my pants pocket and took pictures with one hand, so be careful not to drop it.

Perhaps because it had just stopped raining, the greenery was vibrant, and the scent of the trees felt rich. My whole family was satisfied, and they expressed gratitude for making the reservation. We created great memories.

成人した子供達と中年夫婦の4人での参加でした。
当日は昼過ぎから土砂降りになり、キャンセル覚悟でレンタカーで向かいました。
到着する頃にうまく雨が上がり予定通りに実施できました。
ただ私が乗った馬は雨の中を回っていたようで、鞍と馬体が濡れていて、座った瞬間におしりとズボンの内側が濡れてしまいました。
バギーなど他のツアーで雨の中出発したらしい人達は、皆レインコートを着用していました。
貸し出しは無料か有料か…わかりません。

体験談の通り馬達はとても慣れていて、初めてでも心配なく楽しめました。
ガイドの女性も大変感じが良く、前に後ろにと気遣いしてくれ、途中で草を食べ始めてしまう馬がいても混乱なく進むことができました。
景色は本当に素晴らしく、2時間もあっという間でした。
スマホをズボンのポケットに入れておき、片手で写真を撮ります。落とさないよう気を付けてください。

雨が上がってすぐだったせいかもしれませんが、緑が濃く木々の匂いも深く感じました。
家族全員で満足し、予約したことを感謝されました。
いい思い出ができました。

The local staff may not understand Japanese, but they showed us a video explanation in Japanese, which was reassuring. Each horse was very gentle, and we enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing time while feeling the sound of the waves and the wind by the North Shore. There was a lovely meadow where the horses stopped to eat grass, which was incredibly cute and amusing. I found myself naturally conversing with the horses! (laughs) They also took a group photo with the beach in the background, which became a nice memory. The staff immediately took care of the horses and gave them water after the course, so I think it's good to actively engage in conversation with them. They were very kind and attentive. We hugged and took photos together, creating the best memories. Thank you very much. There were also some friendly and cute animals besides the horses at the ranch! (laughs)

We joined the two-hour horseback riding course at Kualoa Ranch, which we had been interested in for a while, with transportation included. While waiting, we watched a five-minute Japanese explanation DVD to confirm the key points. We quickly mounted the horses and started riding. As we explored the great outdoors of Kualoa Ranch, we soon saw the ocean on our right. The horses were very well-trained, so as long as we followed the instructions, there were no issues riding. The scenery we saw while riding felt particularly magnificent. There were explanations about filming locations for movies, which added to our enjoyment. The instructor spoke mostly in English, but we had a great time. All three of us were very satisfied. It was a horseback riding experience that is hard to come by in Japan.

I booked a 2-hour course starting at 10:05. I arrived in about an hour, but with the check-in process, there wasn't much time for a leisurely lunch, so I bought a large muffin at the shop. There weren't many options at the shop, and both the restaurant and shop had higher prices. There are benches available, so I think it's better to bring light snacks like bread. It was a hot day, and I was sweating quite a bit, but it felt cool when passing through the shade of the trees. Since we walked through shaded areas, muddy paths, and stream-like trails, wearing clothes that can get dirty is a good idea. We were a team of six, and when the guiding staff instructed us to hurry, we would start jogging a bit, but all the horses were well-behaved!
