We went for my husbands birthday on 12/07/19 and it was about 20 of us so we took up the whole boat. I tipped the captain and assistant $20 if he could wait for couple of friends who were arriving late and I also offered the other 2 couples, who were not part of our group, a round of drinks if we left a bit late. They were fine with it. Once we left, all was well EXCEPT for the captains sarcasm. We were not out of hand nor too crazy for him to handle, but to treat us as if we didn’t know any better, was unacceptable. But his remarks and dry humor was the ONLY negative part of our trip. I understand he probably has to deal with drunk people everyday... but we were still paying customers and would expect to be treated like we treated him... with respect. I could imagine how he would treat other tourists who paid hundreds of dollars to take this one trip just to enjoy the sunset cruise and booze. Honestly I would probably refer to a different catamaran company or just get rid/retrain the captain on the spirit of aloha. Not the way I would represent the island.

During the company trip, everyone said they were going to Kailua, but I really wanted to go horseback riding, so I participated alone. But it was so much fun! At Dole Plantation, I enjoyed freshly squeezed pineapple juice and was very satisfied! Then, I went to Haleiwa Town and savored garlic shrimp! At a restaurant recommended by the guide, it was the most plump and delicious garlic shrimp I've ever had! After that, we headed to the North Shore, passing by the Triple Crown (surfing competition). Finally, it was horseback riding time! I was able to truly enjoy the scenery and riding!

The guide was very nice, and to avoid traffic from the Triple Crown, we took a different route back, stopping by a macadamia nut factory along the way. There, I bought macadamia nut butter and incredibly fresh macadamia nuts!

I really enjoyed it!!!!!

そこで、マカデミアンナッツバター、すごくフレッシュなマカデミアンナッツを購入!

In theory this would be a great experience... but the night we went the ocean was VERY rough and both my husband and I got violently ill. The crew did their best to make us comfortable but I have to wonder why no one said anything about the possible conditions. A little warning would have been nice. (“Hey, if you’re prone to motion sickness we would recommend you not attend tonight due to giant waves, etc.” or “Do not drink mai tais if you are concerned about being sick.”)

Also my 8 year old was scared out of his mind...so leave the kids at home. And take Dramamine. Better yet, watch the sunset from the beach.

My husband recovered right away but I was sick for 24 hours!! I couldn’t get the rocking sensation out of my mind, and ate nothing but saltines the next day. I really had no idea this would be possible from a 90 min boat ride. (To the captains credit he brought the boat in early because it was just too rough. I still wonder why we went out in the first place!)

It was amazing. Despite the bad weather, relatively low temperatures, and some rain, the fireworks were perfectly visible from the sea. The reflection of the fireworks on the water was beautiful! I was shivering along the way, but I enjoyed a Mai Tai because it was delicious, and they played great music to keep the atmosphere lively. Even though it was cold, I was sleepy, and the rain was intense, I couldn't feel anything but joy. I'm grateful for the wonderful crew who were so considerate, and for the cheerful and lovely people I shared the experience with. I want to go again!

I was anxious about the English support, but the driver and the crew on the boat were accustomed to Japanese people, so it wasn't a problem not speaking English.

The driver was wonderful; while we waited in the car, he sent me breathtaking photos taken in Hawaii, including pictures of whales and rainbows via AirDrop. He also gave me some recommended souvenirs like gummy candies and canned juice.

It's a good idea to have some cash on hand to tip the driver and the crew.

Even though I was around the Sheraton Hotel with plenty of time, I couldn't get through from the Sheraton to the beach, which made me really anxious... The directions were hard to understand. In the end, I walked along the beach walk to the ocean side, turned right, walked to the end of the road, and took the path on the right that leads to the beach, where the boarding area was! I made it just in time.

Before boarding, I took some photos, and since the waves hit below the knees, wearing shorts was definitely the right choice. I enjoyed the sunset while sipping on a Mai Tai, with music playing loudly. It was the perfect optional tour for the last day of this trip!

余裕をもって乗り場のあるシェラトンホテル周辺にいたのに、シェラトンからビーチの通り抜けができず、焦りまくり…。道順の説明が分かりづらかった。結局、ビーチウォークを海側まで歩き、右折し、道の終わりまで歩いて、右手にビーチにでる小道を行けば、乗り場がありましたよ！ギリギリで間に合いました。

乗船前に写真を撮り、乗り込むのですが、膝下は波がかかるので、ショートパンツで正解でした。
マイタイを飲みながら、サンセットを楽しむ。しかもガンガン音楽を流して。今回の旅の最終日にぴったりのオプショナルツアーでした！
