I thought we might be able to see them a bit closer, but I understand that it’s a matter of the whales' safety. The boat was large. Since it was a plan without meals, those who had breakfast included were enjoying a buffet before departure. It would be better for those without meals to eat beforehand. I didn't expect to see whales so close to Honolulu; the view of Honolulu from the sea was also very beautiful. Not only the whales, but I could also see Diamond Head beautifully from the ocean. I decided to challenge myself to 150 meters, and surprisingly, it wasn't as scary as I thought; rather, I was able to enjoy the view from a height that I usually can't see. However, while waiting for other guests, the boat rocked more than I expected, and I felt quite seasick. Normally, I don't get that nauseous in cars or buses, but even for me, it was pretty tough towards the end. I didn't actually throw up, but it was quite challenging. I think motion sickness medication is essential. In any case, I had a great experience this time. There was a Japanese newlywed couple among the other guests, so we asked each other to take photos and videos, and we didn't purchase the paid photos.

若干高所恐怖症なのですがせっかくのハワイ旅行だしと思って勇気を出して挑戦してみて良かったです。
せっかくの機会と思い150mに挑戦しましたが意外と怖さはなく、むしろ普段見ることのできない高いところからの景色を堪能することができました。
ただ、他の客がやっているのを待っている時の船が予想以上に揺れて船酔いがきつかったです。
普段車やバスではそこまで酔うことはないのですがそんな私でも最後の方かなりきつくて、吐くまではいきませんでしたが相当しんどかったです。
酔い止めは必須なのではないかと思います。
いずれにせよ今回は良い経験をさせて頂くことができました。
他のお客さんで日本人の新婚旅行夫婦がいたのでお互いに写真や動画の撮影をお願いして、有料の写真は購入しませんでした。

I saw whales in the distance about three times. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't see them as much as I had hoped, but on the way back, a large group of dolphins came close to us. They jumped a lot, and just the dolphins alone were very enjoyable to watch! It was a great deal that one child was free with the campaign.

When a whale is spotted, they announce it and let you know where it is, so if you keep an eye out, you might see a mother and her calf quite close by. It was quite moving. I want to participate again, but my husband seemed to struggle with seasickness, so for those worried about seasickness, it's better to take medication in advance to enjoy it more. 釣り竿は貸してくれますが持ち込みOKのようで、アメリカ人の男の子はMY竿持参でした。息子とは好敵手となりそれもまた楽しめました。
１０歳の息子が３匹釣ってキャプテンから「BEST　FISHER」と言われご満悦でした。息子のライバル君はカワハギではない大きい魚を釣ったようでにこにこしていました。

釣った魚はサイズが小さいとリリース。大きいものはフレーバーソルトで味付けして焼いてくれましたが釣れなかった方たちは遠慮して食べてなかったみたいでした。
最近、催行日が減ったようで、やめないでほしいなと思い、かなり日が経ちましたが体験談を投稿しました。
今回、新型コロナがなければ、またこのオプショナルツアーに参加しようと思っていたのであきらめざる負えず残念な気持ちでいっぱいです。
次回、ハワイに行ったらまた参加します。

I took motion sickness medication, so I was fine, but there were quite a few people around me who were feeling pretty seasick, so I recommend taking something to be in top shape to enjoy it fully.

I participated in the morning session. They picked me up from my hotel, so I didn't have to worry about transportation. We got on the board for about a 10-minute experience. While waiting for others to finish their turns, those who are prone to motion sickness might want to take some anti-nausea medication to enjoy it without worries. There are moments during the experience when you'll be in the water up to your legs or waist, so it's best to wear a swimsuit. On the way back, my swimsuit was still wet, but they drove us back to the hotel, so everyone returned wrapped in towels they brought.

I think it's a good idea to bring cash since you'll need to tip the staff after the experience. Also, for an additional $30, they will take photos during the experience! I saw some couples who mentioned they were on their honeymoon purchasing them.

朝一の時間帯で参加しました。宿泊先のホテルまで迎えに来てくれたので移動の心配も要らなかったです。ボードに乗り、１組10分ほどの体験でした。他の人たちの体験中もボードに乗って待つため、乗り物酔いしやすい人は酔い止めは飲んでおいた方が心置きなく楽しめると思います。体験中海に脚〜腰まで海に浸かるタイミングがあるので水着を着て行きます。帰りも水着が濡れたままでしたが、またホテルまで送ってくれるので皆さん水着に持参したタオルを巻いたまま帰ってました。
体験後にスタッフの人にチップを払うので現金も持っていくといいと思います。
また現地で30ドル払うと、体験中の写真を撮ってくれます！ハネムーンで来た、と言っていた方々が購入していました。

This well-run tour took us to a place known as Turtle Canyon a few hundred meters off of Waikiki where sea turtles come to get cleaned by algae eating fish.
There were a couple of dozen of varying ages (judging by their sizes) and though touching is prohibited, it was easy to get close enough that you could have.
Sharp, amusing crew, well maintained and clean masks, snorkels, and fins provided, and cold local beer.
A great combination.

We anchored off Waikiki, were provided with life jackets, and had a wonderful time enjoying the sea! The experience was unique compared to other cruises, and the crew was friendly and fantastic! I would definitely recommend it to others going there.

I made a reservation for 1:00 PM on the day of my arrival in Hawaii. I wanted my family, who are visiting Hawaii for the first time, to get a concrete image of the scale of Waikiki, the location of our hotel, and Diamond Head, so this was a perfect choice to grasp the overall view from the ocean.

Before participating, I read reviews and thought it would be a participatory event with a rap-style BGM playing throughout, which might explain the low number of Japanese participants. However, it was completely different. You can enjoy it at your own pace, so there's no need to worry. The captain did tell jokes in English to the participants at the beginning, but that was just at the start. During the trip, he was very friendly, handling the sales and drinks, and occasionally pointing out, "You can see a turtle over there." I can't even remember if there was any BGM.

In addition to alcohol, there were about five types of soft drinks (canned juices) available for $3 each. I bought the pineapple juice, which was delicious.

アルコールのほかソフトドリンク（缶ジュース）も1缶$3で5種類くらいありました。最初に聞き取れたパイナップルジュースを購入しましたが、これがまた美味かった。
沖に向かっていくときは波に逆らって進むので上下に揺れ、テンションが上がります。ダイヤモンドヘッド灯台が良く見える位置まで向かったので割と移動距離も長めです。岸に戻る時は、一転ほとんど揺れないので、落ち着いて景色を堪能できます。
下船時に「良かったらそこの入れ物にチップをよろしく」的な話があります。

なお、乗る前に参加グループごとに船とダイヤモンドヘッドをバックに写真を撮ってくれます。下船時に2Lサイズの写真を見開きの簡易アルバムとして$20で購入を勧めてきます。購入は任意ですが、購入を考える方は荷物や履物は写らない場所に置いた方がいいと思います。私どもは購入したのですが、全員サンダルを手に持ってバンザイしているので笑えます。
それから船は乗る時のハシゴがある方が前です。水しぶきを多めに浴びたい方は前がお勧めです。
オアフ島でのオプショナルツアーは、必ずと言っていいほど、どこかしらから日本語が聞こえてきますが、こちらのツアーは良い意味で日本語と離れることができ海外に来たことを実感できます。

・船は割と古く、それほどキレイではありません。食事が出るせいもあるか生ごみっぽいにおいがするエリアもあった

I boarded the boat thinking I would be lucky to see even one whale, but I was thrilled to see three whales swimming together and dolphins up close multiple times! I could clearly hear the sound of them blowing water, and it was a wonderful experience of nature. The whale watching was fantastic, but one thing that concerned me was the loud construction noise inside the boat, which made it difficult to hear the naturalist's announcements and music. It would have been even better if there had been consideration for that.
