Six years ago, I had my first piloting experience. At that time, I shared that my childhood dream was to become a pilot for ANA. As a result, I was able to experience everything from takeoff to landing, which was a broad and enriching experience in many ways.

This time, the instructor from my previous experience had become a pilot for a commercial airline and was no longer with the program, so I had a different instructor. I have been going to Hawaii every year for the past few years, participating with specific goals in mind for my trips. This time, I hadn't decided what to do until just before departure, but two days before leaving, I happened to be looking at Veltra and came across a Cessna flying experience. I thought, "This is it!" and signed up. I confirmed my reservation on the day I arrived in Hawaii. Since it was my first time on a Cessna, I was particularly nervous until takeoff. I was holding the control yoke, but I was surprisingly amazed at how easily we took off. Although the staff handled the actual flying 100%, the moment the Cessna soared like a bird in the wind was breathtaking. Within seconds, the buildings below became smaller and smaller. Thanks to the staff, I felt like a bird for several minutes. Thank you for this precious experience. It was unforgettable, and I didn't feel that the cost was high at all.

I was happily walking through the greenery when I arrived at the waterfall. There is a shuttle service, making trekking easy. After the valley, we had lunch in the town of Haleiwa. I was impressed by the juicy hamburger!! At Matsumoto Shave Ice, I had the matcha special. I heard they make the adzuki beans from scratch every day. It was delicious. The driver was very kind and gave us helpful advice.

While planning my trip to Hawaii, I learned about an activity for experiencing piloting a small aircraft and decided to sign up. The scenery was amazing, and I was moved by the feeling of being one with the airplane. The only regret I have is not preparing a pilot-style costume shirt in advance for this opportunity.

They came to pick us up near the hotel as scheduled. There were four groups on the bus, and we were the only Japanese. During the ride, the driver shared information about Hawaii's history in English.

After arriving at Dole, we had malasadas and mineral water for breakfast. The driver also explained how to buy tickets and recommended some food options.

After the Dole experience, we went to the North Shore. Although we couldn't go to the famous sign, the driver introduced us to well-known spots before parking, and then we had free time. We could stop by Matsumoto Shave Ice, garlic shrimp, Patagonia, and more.

On the way back, we visited famous spots around Waikiki, such as King Kamehameha, while the driver provided commentary as we headed toward Waikiki. It was nice to be able to give a tip comfortably.

The excitement of taking off from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on my own was exceptional! The view from above was of otherworldly beauty, and I was able to witness the unique features of the volcanic terrain; everything was wonderful.

It was an experience that is rarely possible in Japan, and I had a truly unique and precious experience. I requested a Japanese pilot, and the explanations from the pilot were easy to understand, and the conversation was entertaining (we had a great time with local talk, haha), and above all, I felt a sense of security.

I will definitely participate again when I visit Hawaii. I think I might become addicted to it.

The stories from the owner couple who came to pick us up were also very interesting, and I could really feel their love for airplanes, which made my own feelings about flying grow even stronger.

Especially, the Florence apparel is hard to find in Waikiki, and it seemed to have just opened, so I felt lucky. I don't want to drive overseas, so I've relied on them a few times. I also took some cute photos of a cat on the beach, which I really like.

I love Hawaii, and my first visit was 52 years ago. After that, I went on my honeymoon, and since my children have grown up, I've been to Hawaii several times. During those visits, I drove to the North Shore after the highway was built. This time, I participated in a one-day tour of Oahu for the first time, and it brought back so many memories.

First, the tour guide asked us where we wanted to go, and he mentioned the power spot of Shohei Ohtani. More than anything, I loved feeling the Hawaiian breeze from Kahala to Hanauma Bay and the Halona Blowhole. I touched the rock at Ohtani's power spot and felt energized. I experienced the local Hawaiian roads and went to Sunset Beach, which felt like it hadn't changed at all, and I was very moved.

I often visit Haleiwa Town, so I wasn't particularly interested in that, but I wanted to go to Tropical Farms after seeing it on TV. We had plenty of samples, and cracking open the macadamia nuts was the most delicious experience I've ever had. My husband and I are already thinking about which tour to take for our trip to Hawaii next year. This time was a wonderful experience, and I'm so glad I could do it. Thank you very much.

All the explanations were in English, but during the drive, our driver, Kaz, kindly provided information in Japanese, which made me feel at ease and allowed me to enjoy the experience! The horses seemed well-trained; they moved forward on their own when the horse in front did. In Haleiwa, I was dropped off at my desired location, so I could easily go to the shops I wanted to visit!

I participated in this tour for my honeymoon. There were about 20 participants, mostly from English-speaking countries, and many appeared to be older. At the meeting point, there were several tours departing for the same destination at the same time, so it was necessary to look for the bus I was supposed to board.

The explanations and guidance during the tour were only in English. However, the guide, Marlon, could also speak Japanese and often reached out to us. It was possible to ask simple questions individually.

The public restroom at the photo stop was not very clean, so I recommend using the bus restroom instead. The time spent at Byodoin Temple, the macadamia shop, and the Dole Plantation was just right. In North Shore, I was aiming for the Patagonia and Snoopy shops, as well as Matsumoto Shave Ice. The lunch portion was quite large, which took some time to eat, so we had to hurry a bit, but we managed to see everything. I recommend checking in advance the crowd levels and portion sizes for lunch. It was okay to eat Matsumoto Shave Ice on the bus as long as it didn't spill from the container, so I bought it at the end and finished it on the bus. The wait time was about 10 minutes.

The view from the bus window was very beautiful, offering a different landscape from Honolulu.

平等院、マカダミアのショップやドールプランテーションは程良い滞在時間でした。ノースショアではパタゴニアとスヌーピーのショップ、マツモトシェイブアイスが目当てでした。お昼ご飯の量が多かったため食べるのに時間が掛かってしまい、少し急ぎめにはなりましたが、回り切ることができました。お昼ご飯は混み具合や提供される量を予め下調べしておくのがお勧めです。マツモトシェイブアイスは、器からこぼれない程度なら車内で食べても大丈夫とのことで、最後に購入して残りを車内で食べました。大体10分程度の待ち時間でした。
車窓からの眺めもとてもキレイでホノルルとは違った風景が楽しめました。

シェイブアイス、フリフリチキンは列が長かったので断念。
代わりにアリビーチまで行ってみたところ、甲羅乾かしているホヌに出会えて感動しました！
