The guide was excellent. Our negative experience is due to the following two main reasons:
1) The tour bus (Discover Hawaii Trans and Tours) was broken into and all our bag packs were stolen. Heard a similar thing happened few weeks ago at the same place. I would have hoped that the tour company would taken added precautions like not leaving the bus unattended after the previous incident or communicating the previous incident to all the guides in the company. Basically they did not care.
2) After the bus glass was broken, a new bus was brought but after driving few miles, the new bus had gas/petrol leaking. The petrol smell was seeping into the bus so the windows had to be kept open with no AC!!!! Basically we all gave up and said just drop us at our hotel and forget about some sight seeing stops such Diamond head, etc.
We had an excellent time with other tour operators both in Oahu and Big Island except this (Discover Hawaii Trans and Tours) one.

Bennie, the driver, was great. Awesome personality and full of interesting facts.
I was with a family member in a wheelchair- he was very patient and attentive.
Bus was very comfortable.
The tour was good- I loved the stop at Hilo Hattie's. The Arizona Memorial was the highlight- very moving and such a part of my family history.
Thank you.

Everyone would be well served to visit this beautiful memorial and remember why we enjoy so many freedoms. We will recount the cost of liberty and be more grateful. The Mighty Mo was awe inspiring and strengthened my pride in America! No trip to Hawaii would be complete without a visit to these sacred memorials.

Value for money will come back for more for sure

We attended this tour with our 3 children. Our driver was Garfield and he was the most informative driver we experienced on our whole trip...he gave us a running commentary on everything we were passing on our way to Pearl Harbour and he had a great sense of humour. He was so punctual with time and always ensured everyone knew what was going on all the time. I would rate this tour as the best one we went on while in Hawaii, I can't speak more highly of it. Our 9 year old left the day completely educated and informed about Pearl Habour. It was also great to go onboard the USS Missouri and see what life was like at sea and understand where the signing for the end of the war occurred. Overall we were extremely pleased with the tour.

We were lucky enough to have our guided tour with Hawaii activities, a group of professionals. It was an 11hour tour with guide Jonathen (one of the few best guides I ever encountered). It was a detailed tour about Pearl Harbour and the sunken ships followed by a detailed circle island tour where we were able to cover an ultra modern township on one side of Hawaii and a rural towanship on another side of hwaii followed by a fusion of both in the middle.Covering around 10 beaches in a single day was way above our expectation.I just wish to be there again with Hawaii activities for all the 5 island tours, all the adventure rides. We are coming next Summer again with a longer duration and we will for sure take the guidance again of Hawaii activities, a guide with Excellence. Mahalo.

Mario was an excellent bus/tour driver! I would definitely recommend getting a longer tour that allows for the USS Missouri tour. A Sunday tour was the best - least amount of traffic, which allowed for more time at Pearl Harbor. Mario also allowed us out of the bus to take pictures at the King Kamehameha statue.

We waited 45 mins. to be picked up at our pick-up location. The driver did not give any explanation or apologize for the delay. When we arrived at the entrance to the Arizona Memorial, he found it would be about 1 1/2 hours before we would be able to actually go to the Memorial. He debated about waiting that long and then suggested we go to the Missouri first. After debating back & forth about that, he finally decided to do that. As soon as he started driving to the Missouri, he expressed concern about getting back at the required time for our tickets for the Arizona. It certainly didn't make us feel very confident. As a result of all this, I believe we were shorted time at both locations. This was our first and probably only trip to Pearl Harbor. We really wanted to experience it in the order in which events occurred - The Arizona and then the Missouri.

I had an amazing day at Pearl Harbor. I didn´t go to the USS memorial because I don´t like boats. But instead I went on the USS Bowfin a fantastic experience. The USS Missouri battleship was awesome ! And it is so big, you need to set good time for this activiti so you can enjoy everything. And take the guided tours, they are really great. Also a big hand for the busdriver that day, Cathrine. She was great, smiling, happy, talked with everybody and maked all of us smiling. I was the only one who did the big tour in Pearl Harbor that day. On the way back she drove through Punchbowl and China town, really sweet and an exstra service for me. Fantastic day.

As this was my first visit to Oahu and Hawaii, I wanted to see as much as I possibly could. This tour did was great! We saw much of the island with a few stops here and there. Some of the things we saw were merely through the bus window, but being able to see so much of the island in one day was wonderful. I would recommend doing this tour near the beginning of your trip so if there is anything you find particularly interesting, you can go back. Pearl Harbor was amazing. This is a good tour if you only want a couple hours there.
Our tour guide was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the locations we visited, friendly and shared many interesting folklore stories during the tour.

This adventure was first class and I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone of all ages, there was something for everyone to enjoy with plenty of stops for photo opportunities or just marvel at the outstanding scenery.

Travelling with my 15yo girl & 10yo boy we had some reservation as to whether they would enjoy this tour. What can I say it was awesome. Duke our tour guide (and owners son) made the day completely enjoyable, upbeat, interesting (even to non Americans) and nothing was to much trouble. We only had about 20 people of this tour so was very personal and comprehensive. An early start meant we beat the crowds at Arizona and Duke's personal knowledge made for an even better tour.
Basically if you want to do a military tour - YOU MUST DO THIS !!!!!!!!
Don't worry about Missouri & Bowfin (they require another full day) these can be done another day. This tour takes you onto the military bases and gives a genuine insight as to what they are like.
Aloha to the Aus Family,
Thank you for responding with such an excellent review. We appreciate your support. Duke's passionate about his work. We continue each and every day to keep history alive at Home of the Brave. We are happy that your family enjoyed your day with us!
