I participated with my two sons (middle schoolers). The only other participants were a foreign couple. The driver and instructor was fluent in Japanese and very kind.

We were able to smoothly ride the trolley from the parking lot to the beach without waiting at the entrance or for movie admission.

Having never snorkeled before and lacking confidence in swimming, I initially thought I would let my sons participate while I stayed in shallow water. However, the instructor took my hand and guided me through the waves, pushing me out to deeper water. Thanks to him, I was able to see colorful fish, schools of fish, and turtles right in front of me, which was incredibly exciting.

Since my sons and the foreign couple were also beginners, the instructor wrapped things up early. My son seemed to want to do more, but I felt it would be rude to request more time since I was monopolizing the instructor.

But overall, it was a lot of fun.

Compared to other Hanauma Bay tours, the price is set higher, but I believe the satisfaction level will be high. They go to offshore points that others don't visit, so the density of fish is different! I think the only comparable experience is a beginner diving tour (where you generally see fish in the same areas).

You can also see sea turtles and encounter large fish like parrotfish. You’ll get to see schools of fish as well. The guide, Alan, speaks Japanese fluently.

We participated as a couple, and there were two foreign siblings joining us. My wife cannot swim at all. It was her second time snorkeling, but she was quite worried as she wasn't used to the equipment. I thought it was reckless to participate since she might panic if water got into her gear, but she wore a life jacket, so it seems she managed to enjoy it safely.

However, it could be dangerous depending on the participants. In our case, a foreign child panicked, and the guide went to help. My wife was left alone and panicked as well. I helped her, but at that moment, I thought it was quite serious.

After that, we decided to return to the shore earlier than planned. The current in the bay is quite strong. Even those who cannot swim at all can enjoy it with Alan's support, but it's better to be cautious when there are multiple people.

ただ、ツアー参加者によっては危険かもしれません。私たちの場合、外国の方の子供がパニックになりガイドが助けに行きました。嫁が放置されてこちらもパニック。私が助けましたがこのときはさすがにヤバイと思いました。
このあと予定を繰り上げて浜に戻りました。
湾内の流れは結構速いです。全く泳げない人でもアランがサポートしますので楽しめますが複数居るときは注意した方がいいでしょう。

This was our first experience snorkeling and my wife cannot swim. Our instructor, Alan, helped my wife overcome her fears and we were both able to enjoy the bay. Alan took great care to guide us and make us feel comfortable. We immediately observed a multitude of fish and coral reef creatures in some of the clearest water we encountered on Oahu. We fell in love with snorkeling and will definitely do it again. We would definitely recommend this adventure to everyone.

Two women participated in a snorkeling tour during Golden Week. The reason for joining was that it wasn't our first time at Hanauma, so we wanted to try a different snorkeling experience. At first, my 11-year-old daughter, who was experiencing snorkeling for the first time and couldn't swim, struggled quite a bit and ended up crying, which was tough to see. I had a really great time. This was my second time snorkeling, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. There were four of us in total, but one person couldn't swim at all and was quite scared. However, they gently guided them while teaching them. The waves were strong, so we snorkeled quite far inside the bay, but we were able to see sea turtles up close. Everyone should definitely bring an underwater camera (they're sold at Narita Airport too). They provide all the equipment (fins, masks, snorkels, life jackets) and carry it for you, plus drinks and snacks are included. They even helped us put on the fins while assisting us in the water. The staff spoke Japanese very well, so I felt safe participating. Even when the entrance is crowded, you can skip the line and get in without waiting. The price might seem higher than other tours, but it is definitely worth the value!

Initially, we thought we could manage snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, which looks shallow like a sandbar, and we were unsure which tour to choose. In the end, we decided to go with an expert, and that was the right choice! To the untrained eye, Hanauma Bay appears relatively shallow and calm, but it was indeed not enough for us, and we couldn't venture far on our own. 素人目には、わりあいと浅瀬で静かに見えるハナウマ湾ですが、やはり浅瀬ではものたりず、さりとて自分たちでは遠くにいけず・・そこで達人におまかせすれば、湾の入り口近くのナイススポットまで出かけ、海亀さんはどんどん現れるは、マンタにも遭え大満足で戻ってきました。女性４名のパーティでしたが湾は以外に波があり、それなりに泳ぎに自信のある方以外はやはり達人ガイドさん無しでは遠くにはいけません。４人とも口を揃えて言ったのは、「ハナウマ湾はキツイ！！」ってことでした。キツイ思いをしなければ楽しいことには出会えない・・ってことです。陸地は朝からの雨模様が激化してどしゃぶり！なりふりかまわずの状態でしたが、そんなお天気も気にならないような満足で戻ってきました。不慣れな４人を引き連れながら、こまごまとお世話され、写真の撮影(これはＣＤ化してサービス！)までして下さった達人アランさん、本当にありがとうございました。

I participated on September 8th. On that day, I had a bit of trouble and arrived late, but since we were the only ones on the tour at that time, they patiently waited for us. After being picked up at the hotel lobby at 7:30 AM, we headed to Hanauma Bay. We smoothly watched a movie without having to wait in line, and then it was time to prepare for snorkeling. It was my first time snorkeling, but after a simple practice in the shallow water, we enjoyed the nature of Hanauma Bay for about an hour. I struggled to kick properly and couldn't move forward easily, but Alan kindly pulled me out into the deeper water, for which I am very grateful. It was great to have a commemorative T-shirt and to have photos taken. Since it was just my daughter and me, and we went out without carrying any bags, we couldn't take photos ourselves, but Alan took some for us, which I really appreciate. My daughter actually dislikes having her picture taken, and whenever I hold up the camera, she either looks away or only lets me take pictures of her back. However, this time, Alan managed to capture her swimming, and I am extremely thankful for that. I quickly saved the photos on my PC when I got home, and now my screen is displaying the picture of us together with Hanauma Bay in the background. Thank you very much.

We participated as a couple on our honeymoon. On the day of the tour, there happened to be no other customers, so we had two instructors guiding us to areas rich in fish. The day before, we had been to Waikiki Beach, but the clarity of the water was incomparable; Hanauma Bay was truly beautiful. There were many fish, and we swam alongside them, and we also saw sea turtles. According to the instructors, about 80% of the tours see sea turtles. If I have the chance to go to Hawaii again, I would love to participate again.

新婚旅行の際に夫婦二人で参加しました。
当日はたまたま他のお客さんがいなかったため、我々にインストラクターの方が2人ついていただいて、魚の多い場所を案内し続けてくれました。
前日に、ワイキキのビーチに行っていたのですが、水のきれいさは比べものにならず、ハナウマ湾は本当にきれいでした。
