I was anxious about using the service for the first time, but it was convenient as I didn't have to go to the tour desk. I participated with a group of 8 on March 20th. I think a snorkeling instructor is necessary at Hanauma. On a previous cheap tour I participated in, I couldn't see any fish. Alan and the Japanese female staff were kind, precise, and efficient, allowing us to see a group of sea turtles and rays. I am grateful for that. There was also luggage to move, but they helped carry it. As a suggestion, it would be nice to have prescription goggles and towel rentals available. Thank you very much.

It's a bit more expensive than other Hanauma Bay tours, but I absolutely recommend the Expert tour! Our guide, Alan, was kind and fluent in Japanese.

I think you can get to Hanauma Bay on your own or through other tours, but with the Expert tour, we were able to go out to areas where no one else was swimming and circle the bay. Both my friend and I were almost beginners at snorkeling, but Alan explained everything from how to use the equipment to tips, and he always kept an eye on our pace, so we could enjoy it safely.

In this tour, we not only encountered sea turtles but also saw seals underwater!!! According to Alan, it was his first time meeting a swimming seal. He mentioned that he often sees seals lounging on the beach. We were really lucky! The seal seemed a bit surprised to see us too. Haha! The seals looked so cute, like stuffed animals swimming around.

One great thing about the Expert tour is that Alan takes photos underwater (and even on the beach)! We brought a waterproof camera, but we couldn't take good pictures at all since we're amateurs. However, Alan uploads the photos he takes underwater to Facebook, so after the tour, we can get those pictures, which is really helpful. Alan's underwater photography is truly professional!

I will definitely join the Expert Hanauma Bay tour again next time!

ハナウマ湾自体は、自力で来ることも他のツアーで来ることも可能だと思いますが、達人とのツアーだと他の人達が全く泳いでいない沖の方まで行き、湾の中一周できました。
私も友人もシュノーケリングはほぼ初心者でしたが、使い方からコツまで丁寧に説明してくださり、ペースなども常に気にかけてくれるので安全に楽しめました。

なんと今回のツアーでは、海中でホヌだけでなくアザラシにも出会えました！！！アランさん曰く泳いでいるアザラシに出会ったのは初めてとのことです。海岸で寝ているアザラシはよく見るそうですが。本当にラッキーです！！アザラシの方も遭遇した私達に少し驚いてました。笑　アザラシ、本当にぬいぐるみが泳いでいるみたいで可愛かったです。

達人のツアーの良い点は、アランさんが海中（ビーチなどでも）で撮ってくれる写真です！私達も防水カメラ持って行きましたが、やはり素人で全然うまく撮れません。ですが、アランさんが海中で撮った写真をFacebookにアップして下さるので、ツアー参加後そこから写真をいただくことが出来、とても助かります。アランさんの海中写真、本当にプロです！

次回も達人のハナウマ湾ツアーに参加します！

For my first snorkeling experience at Hanauma Bay, I wanted to have a proper guide, so I made a reservation. There was a mix-up at first, and I ended up being about 20 minutes late to the meeting point, but the program continued as planned, and I was able to relax and enjoy the fun conversations with Allyn. I was moved when I got to see a honu up close. My husband, who has no particular hobbies and was visiting Hawaii for the first time, said, "I might want to take up snorkeling as a hobby."

Allyn also promptly sent the photos via email, and I was drawn to her personality.

The tour conductor was very nice! Since it was just my mother and me on the day, we received plenty of snorkeling instruction before heading into the sea! The beautiful waters of Hanauma Bay are stunning to look at, but being in the water is amazing!! There were so many adorable tropical fish that I had never seen before. Occasionally, we also spotted larger fish. And guess what! We encountered a small sea turtle. We were able to see it just as it was coming up for air, which was a rare experience. After that, the guide pointed out a small, cute shark (not a man-eater) hiding in the rocks, which is apparently quite uncommon, so we were lucky! The guide took a lot of photos for us and shared how much they love the waters of Hawaii, making them a truly trustworthy and wonderful person. If I go again, I would definitely want to book with them. I highly recommend this experience!

I arrived in Honolulu on the morning of November 20 and participated in a tour that afternoon. The next day was my son's wedding, so it felt like a bit of a mix between the two events, but of course, this was my first trip to Hawaii for the wedding.

I was searching for a tour at the last minute and hoped to join one the day after the wedding, but there were no openings. I really wanted to participate in this tour, and since it was available the day before, I made an immediate reservation. I had only snorkeled once a year and a half ago, borrowing equipment at a hotel in Cebu and trying it out on the hotel's private beach in shallow water. At that time, I only saw a few dark fish.

When the tide went out, I realized how limited my experience had been, and I really wanted to try snorkeling with an instructor at least once and hoped to see a honu (sea turtle), so I signed up.

その日の参加は、私達62歳と58歳、そして若いカップル一組。

砂浜の、腰くらいの深さの所で少し練習し、ペアで手をつないでアランさんについていきました。

小さな魚や大きな魚などいろいろ見ることができ、何と言ってもホヌに会えたので嬉しかったですね。
ホヌはゆったりと泳いでいました。わたし達もゆったり生きていきたいですねえ。
途中アランさんが手を引いてくれて、私はダンナとサンドイッチで楽ちんでした。
深い所でも全然不安もなく、楽しかったです。救命胴衣もつけるし、アランさんもいるので安心です。
シュノーケルをくわえる口元が、少ししんどかったかな。緩むと横から水が入ってくるので、時々顔をあげてくわえ直しました。この旅行でこの後2回シュノーケリングしましたが、口元のしんどさは感じなくなりました。たぶん、余分な力が入っていたのでしょうね。
ハナウマ湾でかなりの時間泳いでいたので、海の中ではあまり感じなかったけれど、陸にあがったら足が疲れてました。
でも気分爽快、初ハワイ初日の、楽しい体験でした。

I was amazed at how wonderful the underwater scenery was with the guidance of an expert guide. This trip was with friends, and one of them was experiencing snorkeling for the first time. Had an Amazing time!! Traveled with hubby and 2 son's 17 & 19 yrs old. My mom was a 1st time snorkel and Makani I hope that's how you spell his name (Sorry) was awesome, he was very sweet and patient. He made sure that we were very comfortable. Would def book with him again! FYi 3rd time snorkeling and by far this was the best!

We participated as a couple. I was worried because I can hardly swim, but there was a Japanese woman on staff who said, "It's okay!" Since I was wearing a sturdy life jacket, I didn't sink, and even though I couldn't swim, I could move my arms and legs slowly to move forward. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the scenery underwater, even as someone who can't swim. I didn't have to wait in the long line when entering, and I wished I could have relaxed a bit more on the beach, but I was very satisfied with the snorkeling. I want to go again.

The guide was very kind, and above all, the underwater scenery of Hanauma Bay was amazing. After that, I swam in several places in Oahu, but this was the best. It was so wonderful that I would come back again. I was able to see several honu while swimming both times, thanks to the guide who knows the points thoroughly from swimming there every day. I highly recommend this tour.

A couple over sixty years old decided to try snorkeling for the first time, not thinking about their age or being in a foreign country. At first, they thought it would be nice to see a few tropical fish, but once they got in the water, they were surprised to see not only many tropical fish but also a honu (turtle) swimming gracefully from the seabed to the surface right in front of them. Unfortunately, the wife missed seeing it, which was a bit tragic! For me, it was an emotional and thrilling experience that lasted over an hour.

The guide, whose name I forgot, was fluent in Japanese, fun, and attentive. He took many photos, and when I returned home and checked my email, I found several photos attached along with a thank-you note (including pictures of the honu), which made me so happy. The person I was with also seemed to be snorkeling for the first time, and we both enjoyed this tour immensely. Thank you so much to the guide whose name I forgot!

Due to the short duration of my stay, I decided to join a tour for efficiency and chose this one based on reviews. Regardless of snorkeling experience, I wore a type of life jacket that inflates with your own breath (similar to those used in emergencies during flights). If you want to dive to some extent, I recommend consulting with the instructor. I have snorkeling experience but lack confidence in swimming and struggle with equalizing pressure, so I didn't dive. I had no resistance to wearing the life jacket; in fact, I found it easier to swim than usual.

The underwater scenery was amazing, and I saw three sea turtles! A friend who joined me cannot swim, but with the life jacket on, the instructor carefully explained how to wear fins, how to float on your back, and how to deal with water entering the mask before we actually started swimming, so they felt very safe and had a great time.

Transportation between the hotel and the site, as well as equipment rentals, were stress-free in every aspect. While the tour cost might seem a bit high, I personally felt it was worth it. I think it's not suitable for those who want to take their time and relax (which is why I rated it a 4), but I recommend it for those with limited time like I had. Please note that as of October 2013, the entrance fee to the bay (US$ 7.5) is not included in the tour price and must be paid on the day.

肝心の海中景色は素晴らしく、ウミガメは３匹も見かけました！一緒に参加した友人は泳げないのですが、救命胴衣を着用し、実際に泳ぎ出す前にフィン(足ヒレ)の履き方や水面で仰向けになりたい時の方法、マスク(水中メガネ)に水が入った場合の対処法など、インストラクターが丁寧に説明してくれましたので、安心してとても楽しむことができたようです。
ホテルと現地間の交通手段や道具のレンタルなど、あらゆる場面でストレスフリーだったので、ツアー代は少々高めに感じられるかも知れませんが、個人的には相応の価値ありと感じました。時間に余裕があってのんびり過ごしたいという方には不向きだと思いますが(なので評価は４にしました)、今回の私のように時間が限られている方にはオススメします。なお、2013年10月時点で、湾への入場料(US$ 7.5)はツアー代に含まれておらず当日支払いなので、ご注意ください。

We knew that snorkeling at Hanauma bay was a public activity, but we wanted something that was "high touch" and could deal with any individual needs if they came up. This was definitely it and we were very satisfied. Group sizes are usually small, like 4, but ours was luckily just the 2 of us. Alan, the guide's pre-outing equipment instructions helped ensure that we could use the mask with the least problems and we always felt safe & accommodated. This was the best snorkeling experience I've had of the several we've done so far. We even saw a sea turtle for a bit nibbling around the coral and coming up for air!

First of all, Allen our instructor was very cool. We felt right at home and we got lucky that we had only 1 other family with us so we got great lessons. The views of hanauma bay is like something from a postcard!!! The snorkeling is so amazing and we even got to swim with turtles!! This is a must too because the line to get in is long but with Allen we went right to the front. First class service for sure. Most important thing: underwater camera we bought the best on the market just for this reason and it was so worth it!!

We participated as a family of four (husband, wife, a second-year middle school student, and a third-year elementary school student). At the entrance to Hanauma Bay, we were able to enter without waiting in line, and the tram fare to the beach was included.
