This was my first time snorkeling and I came from Canada to visit Hawaii. It was a beautiful experience just because we have a great instructor Mr. Dan through Hawaiiactivities.com. We came to know him through this website. Dan started with all basic instruction and shown all steps for snorkeling in detail. He has snorkeled with us and kept my kids together and safe.


It was a magic day of snorkelling in the biggest coral reef on earth. Thousands of colorful fish in the warm water. Thanks a lot to Dan You're part of memories of a life time.

Dan brought all safety devices and snorkeling equipment. He adjusted the equipment to fit very well with each of us. As my kids were not good at swimming, Dan took much patience to train them. He brought mats and drinks to relax before getting into sea.

I saw dozens of very large angelfish, parrotfish (Blue, Queen, and Stoplight), as well as many species of damselfish and butterfly fish, Sergeant Majors, Yellowtail Snapper, and I even saw a Longspine Squirrelfish! It was an absolutely perfect day.

The water was very clear. At one point I was surrounded by hundreds of fishes all swimming calmly in one direction (schooling). All of a sudden they parted (odd, because I had been swimming with them for several minutes without them seeming to notice), and I saw the most awesome and colorful fish I've ever seen in my life swim 5 ft directly under me! I thought about was how every now and then you hear stories about HUGE catfish the size of Buicks at the bottom of deep lakes.


That being said, you can imagine my initial hesitation on the day of my snorkelling experience at I might have started out a little nervous, but I can tell you right now—it ended up being my absolute favorite experience on the trip.

The scenery was beautiful, and the two guides who accompanied us (I was a bit worried at first) were very pleasant, making for a really enjoyable time. The images I uploaded were taken with a wearable camera, and I am very satisfied with them.

It wouldn't be interesting to only write good things, so I should mention that the pickup was a bit late, and the same group (who were foreigners) swam like they were in a race, causing my wife to get hit multiple times and almost drown. My wife and son also got seasick after being away from the shore for nearly an hour.

Additionally, the water clarity wasn't as good as I had hoped, the colors of the fish were rather dull, and the turtle was a bit smaller than I imagined.

However, overall it was fun, so I'm glad I participated.

景色は綺麗でしたし、案内して頂いた二人（最初はちょっと心配でしたが）が、感じの良い方々で、すごく楽しいひと時でした。アップした画像は、ウェアラブルカメラで撮った映像で、大満足です。
良いことばかり書いても面白くないので、ピックアップがちょっと遅かったり、同じグループ（外国人の方です）が水泳の様に泳いで妻に何度も手が当たって溺れそうになったり、１時間近く波打ち際から離れて妻と息子が波に酔ったりといろいろありました。
また、透明度が期待していたほどでなかったり、魚の色が地味だったり、カメが想像よりはちょっと小さかったりとかはありました。
でも、トータルすると楽しかったので、参加して良かったです。

It was disappointing that there was no explanation for the pickup being over 20 minutes late. At first, I thought Allen was a bit quiet and brusque, but once we got into the water, he was very kind and truly taught us with the same care and attention that everyone mentioned in their reviews. I was nervous about snorkeling after a long time, but Dan kept saying, "It's okay, it's okay," which made me feel at ease and allowed me to go further out. We were lucky to see three sea turtles, which is really rare! However, since I wouldn't be able to find the turtle spots on my own, I think it's best to go with a guide. I would appreciate it if we could have some free time afterward. When it's a group activity where everyone has to stick together, it's hard to take a break even if you're tired, and I wished I could enjoy snorkeling at my own pace a bit more. But we got so many great photos that we wouldn't have been able to take ourselves, which made for wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

ホヌを３匹も見ることができて、本当にめずらしい！ということでラッキーでした。
ただ、ホヌのスポットはなかなか自分では行けないしわからないのでガイドさんと一緒がいいですが、その後はフリータイムにしてもらえると嬉しいと思います。
全員一緒でないといけない団体行動だと疲れていても休みにくいし、もう少しのんびりと自分のペースでシュノーケルを楽しみたかったなぁと思いました。
でも自分たちだけでは撮れないような写真をたくさん撮って頂いて、とてもいい記念になりました。

Hanauma Bay had beautiful clear water and calm waves, making it easy to swim. The highlight was being able to see sea turtles if you were lucky. I was thrilled to see them taking breaths and to have photos taken while swimming with the turtles.

There was only this tour available for an afternoon departure, so my friend and I participated. In the end, I'm glad we chose this one.
There were four women, including us, and our guide was Alan.
When I signed up for the tour, there was nothing mentioned about photos, so I was considering buying an underwater camera, but Alan took pictures while we were snorkeling and uploaded them to Facebook, which was great for keeping memories.

It was a bit more expensive than other tours, but I signed up anyway and it was definitely the right choice! We got to see three sea turtles and swim alongside them, and we were able to see them up close. Because it was low tide, we had to go out further than we would have on our own to see the turtles. I don't think we would have seen them without Alan's guidance. It was worth the price. I highly recommend it!

It was my first time in Hawaii and my first time snorkeling, and I'm glad I went.

There were six participants and two instructors. Since it was my first time, the Japanese instructor guided me the whole way, which made me feel safe and allowed me to enjoy myself. At one point, I got seasick and had to return to shore, but the Japanese instructor stayed with me during that time.

The others seemed to have gone far out to see sea turtles and then returned.

I would actually like to give it five stars, but I missed seeing the sea turtles, and I think it would have been better with a bit more time. If there had been about 30 minutes of free time at the end (for those who wanted to snorkel wherever they liked), I would have been truly satisfied.

I want to go to Hanauma Bay again. When I do, I would like to have Alan as my guide for this tour again.

We were really lucky to have just one guide, Alan, for the two of us, which allowed us to experience everything at our own pace. After being picked up at the hotel by the Japanese-speaking Alan, he took us to the office to fit our fins. Then we moved to Hanauma Bay, where we watched a video explanation. (At this time, they distribute translation devices, so we could receive explanations in Japanese.) After that, we took a tram down the slope and left our valuables with them.

Finally, it was time to start snorkeling. I had experienced it about three times before, but it was my husband's first time, so he was a bit nervous. However, they taught us how to use the equipment properly. I’m not a good swimmer, but once I put on the life vest, I floated, and with the mask, I could breathe easily, making snorkeling enjoyable. You can wear contact lenses while using the mask, so visibility is also reassuring.

At one point, my mask loosened, and I accidentally swallowed some saltwater, which was uncomfortable, but Alan fixed it for me, and after that, we were able to continue without any issues. It might be a bit surprising, but if you follow the instructions, even those who are hesitant because they were poor swimmers in gym class can safely explore the underwater world. 日本語の上手なアランさんがホテルでピックアップしてくれた後に事務所（？）に連れて行ってくれてフィンのサイズなどを合わせていきます。その後ハナウマ湾に移動するのですがビデオで説明を聞きます。（この時に翻訳の機械を配っているので日本語で説明を受けることが出来ます。）その後トラムで坂道を下り、貴重品などを預かってもらいます。
そしていよいよシュノーケリング開始です。私は3回ほど体験していたのですが主人は初めてなので少し緊張。しかし器具の使い方からきちんと教えてもらえます。私はカナヅチなのですが、救命ベストを身に着けると浮きますし、呼吸もマスクを使えば出来るのでシュノーケリングが楽しく出来ます。コンタクトをつけたままマスクも出来るので視界も安心です。
途中でマスクが緩んだのか、塩水を飲んでしまい苦しかったのですが、アランさんが直してくれて、その後は問題なく再開出来ました。ちょっと驚いてしまうけれど言われたことを守れば、体育の授業でカナヅチだったから・・と敬遠している人でも、安心して水中の世界をのぞけると思います。アランさんも写真を撮ってくださり、本当に楽しかったです。主人も夢中で写真を撮っていました。ウミガメには残念ながら会えなかったのですが、もし出来るならまたハナウマ湾に行ってウミガメを探したいです。普段運動していないし不安もありましたが初心者でも大丈夫！と皆さんにお勧めしたいです。（ストレッチはした方がいいです。）髪の長い人も前髪がかかる人も邪魔になるのでとめておいた方がいいです。

The staff who are super skilled in Japanese will take you around. They will enter from a completely different place than those who come on their own and will show you the wonderful points of Hanauma Bay. I encountered a turtle inside, and it was so cute! It was my first time seeing a turtle breathe. The bay is vast, and you need to visit key spots, so I definitely recommend going with an expert rather than going on your own!

I participated with a friend. I have done this 3 to 4 times, but it was my friend's second time, so I had some anxiety. However, Alan's explanations on how to breathe, the equipment, and when to wear the fins were very clear, allowing us to snorkel comfortably and calmly. They also provide practice in shallow areas, which is reassuring. We were able to see three turtles and many fish, which was great. Since we went to quite deep places and there were areas with strong currents, it was comforting to have an expert guide with us. I thought it would be even better if we could have about an hour of free time to snorkel in the shallows.

I decided on this tour after reading the reviews. Thanks to Alan, who speaks fluent Japanese and has a great sense of humor, I had a wonderful experience.

It was my first time snorkeling, but he taught me in a fun and thorough way, so I got used to it quickly. It was the best experience to fulfill my dream of swimming with sea turtles.

For our 10th wedding anniversary, we planned a trip to Hawaii, and my wife booked this tour to Hanauma Bay for us.

The ocean was just beautiful!!

The weather on the day was sunny. Leading up to the day, the weather hadn't been great, and the ocean was chilly! But the stunningly clear water and the abundance of fish made us forget all that.

Our guide, Alan, was a gentleman who kindly taught us in Japanese, even though we couldn't speak any English at all, so we were able to snorkel without any worries.

He even helped us see the honu (green sea turtles), which moved both me and my wife deeply!!

We tried our best to take photos underwater ourselves, but Alan was continuously taking pictures for us and uploaded them to Facebook, so we could save them from there! He took about 110 photos during our time, so even now that we're back in Japan, we can always remember Hanauma Bay with those dynamic pictures.

There are other tours available for Hanauma Bay that might be cheaper, but considering the guide's personality, accurate advice, and aftercare, I highly recommend this tour!

とにかく海が綺麗！！

当日の天気は晴れ。当日まで天気が良くなく海はさぶっ！！っといった感じでしたが、それを忘れるくらいの綺麗な海、大量の魚たちでした^^

ガイドのアランさんは紳士な方で、我々全く英語がしゃべれない人たちにもw、日本語で優しく教えてくれるので、何の心配も無くシュノーケリング出来ました。

最大の目的のホヌにもあわせてくれました、これには自分もおくさんも感動しました！！

自分達でも水中で写真を頑張って撮りましたが、終始アランさんが写真を撮っていてくれて、その写真をfacebookにアップしてくれているので、そこから写真を保存する事が出来まます！！
我々の時は110枚くらい撮っていてくれていたので、日本に戻った今でもダイナミックな写真でいつでもハナウマ湾を思い出せます^^

ハナウマのツアーは他にもあり、ここよりも安いものあると思いますが、ガイドさんの人柄、的確なアドバイス、アフターケアなど色々考踏まえて、このツアーをオススメします！

We participated as a family of three, with our 10-year-old son. It was all of our first time snorkeling, and we were quite anxious about swimming, but in the end, we were really glad we joined!

Alan sensed our nervousness and kindly guided us in Japanese, mixing in jokes, and he held our hands while we swam throughout the experience. Thanks to him, we were able to go to depths we would never have ventured to on our own, and we got to see beautiful fish and even two graceful sea turtles, which almost brought me to tears.

Before going, my husband had said, "Isn't this a bit expensive? Maybe we should go with a cheaper tour," but afterward, he remarked, "It was worth more than the price!" Our son, who was initially unsure about snorkeling, seemed very moved, and as soon as we returned to the hotel, he bought a cheap snorkel at ABC and went diving in the waters of Waikiki (laughs).

We are truly grateful to Alan for all his help. We definitely want to join this tour again next time. Thank you very much!

This was my second time at Hanauma Bay! The first time was two years ago without a guide, and it was enjoyable in its own way, but this time, with our guide Alan, we encountered two honu (sea turtles)‼︎ We were able to swim close enough to the honu, and we also got to see the feeding behavior of the honu and schools of fish—an experience that we definitely wouldn't have had on our own. The kids were very happy as well.

I tend to get seasick and have a history of dizziness, and I ended up feeling nauseous from the waves, but Alan was very supportive, guiding me and escorting me back to shore, which was a great comfort. Thank you very much!! I highly recommend it‼︎‼︎

また 私は酔いやすいのと めまいの持病があり 波の揺れで船酔い状態になってしまいましたが アランさんが 手を引いて 泳いで岸までエスコートして下さり 大変心強かったです。有り難うございました！！
