This was my first time snorkeling, and Alan, our guide, was terrific. I had trouble figuring out the breathing, and he was very kind, patient, and worked to insure that I had a great experience. He was prepared with good equipment we needed, got us through the Haunauma Bay entry easily, and took us on a wonderful swim with loads of great life to see. We saw tons of fish, a huge turtle, an eel, the reef, and it was a fabulous experience.

I wanted to see wild sea turtles, so I joined this tour.

The person who came to pick me up was a bit older. I thought he was the driver, but he turned out to be the guide! (laughs)

When we entered the water, I was worried about my belongings, but they had a large lockable box ready for us, which was further secured with a chain to a palm tree! (However, the box isn't very big, so it's best to keep your personal items to a minimum.) Since it locks, you can store your camera and other things safely. Even if you don't have your own camera, the guide will take pictures for you and upload them to Facebook later, so no worries!

They taught us how to breathe with the snorkel and how to put on the fins before we entered the water. You'll get used to the breathing technique quickly.

The underwater world that unfolded before my eyes was simply breathtaking.

At first, it was great, but we kept swimming further out. As we did, the water gradually became colder.

I got so cold that I couldn't stop shivering, and it was freezing. When I finally saw the sea turtles, I was half happy and half desperate from the cold! (laughs)

It might have been because it was still morning, but be cautious. Especially for those who are slim, it's something to watch out for. I recommend renting a wetsuit.

But it was truly beautiful. A memory for a lifetime! (^^)

お迎えにきてくれたのは、ちょっとご年配の方。
この人は運転手さんだろう。。。
と思っていたら、ガイドさんでした！笑

海に入るとき、荷物が心配でしたが、
大きな鍵のかかるBOXを用意してくれていて、それを更にヤシの木にチェーンで巻きつけてました！
(ただ、BOXはそんなに大きくないので手荷物は最小限にしましょう。)
鍵かかるので、カメラとかしまっておけます。
自分のカメラがなくても、ガイドさんが撮ってくれて、あとでFacebookに写真UPしてくれるので大丈夫です！

シュノーケルつけての呼吸法。
フィンのつけ方など教えてもらい入水。
呼吸法はすぐ慣れます。

目の前に広がる海の中の世界には
感動の一言です。

だだ、最初のうちは良かったのですが、
どんどん沖へ泳いで行きます。
すると、水もだんだん冷たくなっていきます。

私、途中から震えが止まらない程冷えてしまって、寒くて寒くて。
ホヌに逢えた時も嬉しさ半分、寒さ半分で必死でした。笑

午前中だったせいもあったかもしれませんが、注意です。
特に痩せ型の人は要注意です。
ウェットスーツ借りる事をオススメします。

でも、本当〜〜にキレイでした。
一生の思い出です(^^)

I was a bit anxious since it was my first time snorkeling, but I had a lot of fun.
There were three of us participating, and there was also a parent-child duo of a similar age.
One thing to note is that you will be swimming quite a bit, so if you can't swim, you can drop out at any time, so don't push yourself.
I used to swim, so I was fine swimming for over an hour and a half, but only I and one child from another parent-child duo were able to swim until the end, and everyone else was exhausted.

We saw a lot of sea turtles!

私たちは３人での参加で他には同年代の親子が参加されていました。

私は水泳をしていたので１時間３０分以上泳いでも大丈夫でしたが、私ともう一人の親子の子の方しか最後まで泳ぎきることできず、みなさんぐったりしていました。

I highly recommend this for first-time snorkelers. They teach you how to kick with fins, stand, breathe while snorkeling, and clear your mask (how to deal with water getting into your mask) in a very thorough and friendly manner, even incorporating jokes. However, I felt that there were far fewer fish in the sea than I expected (I was hoping for a lot more colorful fish). Since it is a no-feeding area, the fish don't come close. Those who have snorkeling experience in Okinawa or Guam might feel a bit disappointed. However, if you're a beginner or close to being one, you might find that there are enough fish to enjoy and have a great time.

I participated in mid-February. My impression can be summed up in one word: extremely satisfied!! The ocean was so beautiful that I was amazed. I recently went snorkeling in Okinawa, but it couldn't compare at all! (laughs) There were so many fish, they were so close I felt like I could reach out and touch them! I could swim with turtles! Loved everything about this snorkling tour. The experience was so unbelievable. The instructors were awesome and friendly. I would do this snorkling tour again. Seen many different fish and twoTurtles. We actually went Pretty far out and the instructors were besides us and checking on us to make sure we were ok. My kids loved it to and talked about it for the whole day!! Go snorkling it Was awesome! Worth every penny I spent!

We participated as a family of four: a couple with a 12-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. Since it was February 11, we rented wetsuits for the whole family. We started in shallow water to get a feel for things before moving to deeper areas. I think we swam quite a bit, and since our 7-year-old girl (who has snorkeling experience) was in the care of our guide, Chieko, we felt at ease. We were also able to see turtles. As mentioned, we only needed swimsuits, towels, a change of clothes, and minimal cash, which was not a problem. A camera is not necessary unless it's an underwater camera. We brought our underwater video camera, but the guide's camera took much better pictures. Our remaining cash and mobile phone were safely stored in a sturdy box, which gave us peace of mind. We had a great time, so thank you very much!

I had never swum in the ocean even though I am a resident of N. California (water too cold). So I signed my husband and I up for a beginner snorkeling trip. Us two old fogies and 5 young Japanese students took the class. Both instructors were fluent in Japanese and very accommodating to us as well. We followed a turtle for several minutes and saw many colorful fish in the Bay. A truly wonderful experience. I will try it again some day.

Although I had previous snorkel experience, the tour guide reviewed basic rules for snorkeling and I was given an opportunity to practice in shallow water. I wanted to show my wife the snorkeling experience I had at Hanauma Bay during my single days, so I participated again.

We were able to rent wetsuits on-site for a fee. The goggles and snorkels provided were not the usual worn-out ones, but rather well-maintained equipment. Thanks to that, it was a very warm and comfortable ocean adventure. I highly recommend the wetsuits.

Last time I came, I just floated in the shallow waters, but this time, our guide and instructor, Chie, who is a certified diver, took us out to deeper waters. My wife hadn't swum in a while, but since she held my hand the whole time, she was able to keep up without any issues. The fish were adorable, and I was surprised when a turtle swam right past us!

Thank you for such a dreamlike experience.

以前、独身時代に経験したハナウマ湾のシュノーケリングを奥さんにも見せたくて参加しました。
現地にてウェットスーツを有料でお借りすることが出来ました。
メガネ、シュノーケル含め、よくあるボロボロのではなく、しっかり手入れされたものをお借り出来ました。
その御蔭でとてもあたたかく、快適な海の旅でした。スーツお勧めです。

前回来た時は浅瀬でぷかぷか浮いていたものですが、ガイド兼インストラクターのチエさんはダイビングの資格をお持ちとのことで、その経験を活かして沖合の方まで連れて行ってくださいました。奥さんは泳ぎは久しぶりだったのですが、ずっと手をつないでくれていたので、問題なくついていくことが出来ました。
魚は可愛かったし、目の前を亀が通過していったのにはびっくりしました！
本当に夢の様な時間をありがとうございました。

Beautiful bay, Blue Hawaii divers a husband and wife team were great, we were picked up, accessed the bay without having to join the long line that afternoon, good clean equipment. We saw a turtle which my son swam alongside as well as lots of fish large and small. One of the best days of our trip.

While I was nervously waiting at the hotel front to meet the guide, Alan appeared wearing a sea turtle T-shirt! I recognized him right away (о´∀`о).

I was relieved that I could communicate with Alan in Japanese (*´∀｀).

As expected, Alan was a pro at Hanauma Bay. He had a pass with the parking attendants and moved around confidently, which made me feel very secure (о´∀`о).

The water was quite cold, but as I swam with Alan, we encountered a sea turtle!! I was healed by the graceful way it swam, which was so different from the fish (*´ω｀*).

When we were picked up at the hotel, Alan, who came to greet us, looked a bit frail, and I was concerned... However, once we started the snorkeling tour, he transformed into a 100% trustworthy guide! He led everyone out into the waters of Hanauma Bay, progressing steadily. The further we went out, the clearer the water became, and the tropical fish grew larger. Alan seemed to be searching for turtles, but unfortunately, we didn't encounter any that day. Still, it turned into a wonderful ocean walk that we couldn't have experienced on other tours.

It was a tour that my 70-year-old mother was very satisfied with. The best part was that they provided wetsuits and other gear. Since the weather was a bit chilly when we entered the water, this was very helpful. Additionally, there were many corals, so it was also great for preventing injuries. The snorkeling experience was absolutely satisfying. My mother, who had previously gone snorkeling in Guam, didn't have a very good impression of it (she was scared because the beaches in Guam had many rocks and she slipped), but it seemed she really enjoyed snorkeling on this tour.

参加した時期のため海に入るとすこし寒いなぁと感じる気候だったので。
それにサンゴが多いのでけが防止のためにもとても役に立ちました。

As rumored, I really encountered a turtle, and I was so moved!!! Thank you very much. However, the day we participated was said to have the worst weather of the year, and the sea was quite murky... Even so, I was touched to be able to get so close to the turtle that I could almost touch it. The guide was also very attentive and it was really great.

I had my scuba dive with Dan and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I was rather nervous about it, but he was very patient and allowed me to take my time getting accustomed to the breathing and teaching me all the basic safety procedures. The dive itself was great, saw lots of fish and a sea turtle as well. Would highly recommend this for anyone that is doing their first dive!

The reason I deducted one star is that I didn't get to see a sea turtle (T_T). I was really hoping to swim with a sea turtle, so that was disappointing. I hope to see one next time I participate, so I'm giving it four stars!

However, I saw plenty of fish and even an octopus, so overall, I was satisfied! It was an hour that flew by in the beautiful sea. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Since it was a weekday, there were only two groups with four participants. They adjusted to the pace of the participants, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful sea without any pressure. At the beginning, they provided a brief introduction to the basics of snorkeling, which made it reassuring for complete beginners.

Our guide, Alan, was friendly and also understood Japanese, making communication easier in case of any issues, which added to our sense of safety (although there were no incidents at all, it was comforting just in case).

I participated in the morning session, and although it rained just before we arrived, it cleared up by the time we got there. The waves were calm, and we were able to observe various types of fish slowly. Along the way, we were fortunate enough to spot two turtles, which I thought was very lucky.

平日参加だったためか、2組4名の少人数でした。参加者のペースに合わせて回ってくれるので、無理なく綺麗な海を楽しめました。はじめに簡単にシュノーケリングの基礎を教えてもらえるので、全くの初心者でも安心です。
