Once in a lifetime
Reviewed by: Tajhv0429@gmail.com, 2022/08/27It was a once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide was real friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us a shopping center on our way. He serve crispy krispy cream donuts and tea. Shared his knowledge and showed us Jupiter, the craters of the moon and constellations. The drive up did not take very long. It was freezing during the night so put on layers. Watching the sunset was beautiful.

A Must Do!
Reviewed by: Sarah , 2022/08/14Yoshi was our tour guide and he was fabulous. Very knowledgeable and thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. At 10 thousand feet it does get colder than you expect. We had the chance to stop and change into warmer clothes before going to the summit. Highly recommend this tour!

最高の体験出来ました
Reviewed by: T.K, 2022/08/07富士山クラスの山でしたが、トイレ休憩含め、高度に少しずつ慣らしながら連れて行ってくれたので何の問題もなく山頂まで到着。
雲が厚く、心配しましたがサンセット時にはだいぶ晴れ、幻想的な夕陽を見ることが出来ました。
そして真っ暗になってからはポインターで空を指しながらの解説で正に天然のプラネタリウムでした。
高級な望遠鏡も用意頂き、土星の輪っかや月のクレーターなどもはっきり見ることが出来ました。
どうもありがとうございました。

Reviewed by: azurofj@ymail.com, 2022/08/06At first I was a bit disappointed because we thought they have forgotten about us,only to find out that they were waiting for us in the other hotel roundabout-there was a little misunderstanding with the pick up location. Our hotel and the next door hotel names are almost the same.Other than that,the trip was amazing. At first,it was all covered by clouds and fog but our guide did not give up and tell us to wait a little longer. True enough..while all have left,we stayed to witness the sunrise. It was amazing! Our guide did not disappoint us!

Awesome experience
Reviewed by: Anirudh, 2022/07/15We had a great time in the sunset and stargazing tour. The tour operator Yamauchi-San was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. He promptly picked us up at the scheduled time. He was very engaging with the whole group and provided us with donuts and water at the start of the trip. He ensured that the group got gradually acclimated to the altitude by stopping at couple of places on the way. Once we reached the summit he took us to a place that had a very clear view of the setting sun. Then during the stargazing part of the tour he showed us several stars and star clusters through the telescope and binoculars. Also since it was a full moon we also got a good view of the moon and it’s craters through the telescope. Overall we enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to others.

Best experience ever!

We saw the best sunset and so many stars. Yoshi showed us all the different stars and the milky way on the telescope. He also took plenty of pictures of us and let me just say he is an amazing photographer. Would love to go again.

He is very knowledgeable and explained a lot about stars to us using laser & telescope. He gave us donut, tea, blanket, gloves, jacket, and candy. It was amazing!!! He is very kind and friendly. I definitely recommended him to everyone.

Amazing stargazing trip!

His tour is perfect for those who don’t want to drive up for their first time in the dark and windy road (like the other tour). Everything was provided as described- and the arctic jackets were a must have because it was freezing and windy! Loved the hot tea provided too! Yoshi is super knowledgeable about the stars and with his telescopes we were able to see the beautiful stars. Oh and the sunset was absolutely terrific too! Definitely worth taking this tour!

Haleakala National Park Sunrise Sightseeing Tour with Breakfast & Transportation
Amazing honeymoon experience
Reviewed by: MrsMoralee, 2022/05/21I searched all the available tours for the sunrise at Haleakala and found this one wounded the best suited for me and I was not disappointed. We were able to be picked up from our hotel (Hyatt regency on the west side of the island) which was a huge help as me and my husband do not drive. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our driver was Chris who was a huge credit to the tour, was very welcoming. He took the time to ask different groups and couples where they were from and bonded with us. The summit was incredible, you couldn’t believe how high up you were! It does get cold up there but coming from England it was like being back home (so do dress up warm and change later for the towns). Although it was a cloudy sunrise, the experience was still amazing with all the knowledge Chris gave and offering to take amazing photos for us all. It may be a once in a lifetime experience but we still would want to do it all again.

Weird tour for me
Reviewed by: Mayor Mabry, 2022/04/16On the ride to the summit, we stopped for everyone to be fitted with bicycles and gear. I signed up for a tour. The sunrise at the summit was phenomenal. The ride down however was a bit uncomfortable because I was the only one on the bus. We were mainly watching the bikers, making sure they got down the mountain safely. We stopped in two towns where Rory let me get off and walk around, but it wasnt much of a tour.....it was a bus ride to the sunrise and back. It's not what I paid for but I did get to see the sunrise. Also, my friend was suppose to go but got sick as we left the motel. Eddie was the driver to the summit and had to stop for her. Luckily we hadnt gone far so he returned her to the motel and I did the 'tour' on my own. Rory was the driver coming down and he was great doing what he was supposed to do. I tried to get a refund for my friend to no avail. They said she must have a dr note. Since she wasnt sick enough to go to the dr, she lost her money. It was a beautiful sunrise but all in all I was disappointing in the day. Make sure if you want a tour, you aren't going with bikers. The description did not make that clear.

Preston is an absolute asset!
Reviewed by: Angelina23, 2022/04/06Preston has to be the most amazing tour guide I've ever had the privilege of touring with! From being knowledgeable, to witty, he's got it all. He wants to ensure that EVERYONE no matter what season it is layers up, wears clothes toed shoes (toe warmers like the ones used in Tahoe would be the best idea ever!) and BRING A BLANKET! Whatever size you want, fluffy, non fluffy donuts matter. But, this awesome tour guide lets you leave you items safely on the bus so all your have to comfortable carry the very few far steps you actually have to walk, is the blanket and your camera for beautiful views. Keep your positive attitude when waking early, plan ahead with an energy drink or snack to keep you going until you reach to Kula Lodge (TRY THE LOCO MOCO JUST TRUST ME) and you'll be good to go!

朝日は絶景でした！

Haleakala National Park Sunrise Sightseeing Tour with Breakfast & Transportation
Our guide, Dan was great!
Reviewed by: Boxergrandma101, 2022/02/11We (4 adults) booked the Classic Daytime Hakeakala tour several weeks in advance. About 15 hours before the start of the tour we received a call indicating that the tour was cancelled, then an hour later we were contacted informing us that they worked out their problem and the tour would go as scheduled. We truly appreciated the pick-up and drop-off at our Lahaina resort. The four of us were combined with a bike group so some of our tour time was spent listening to their instructions and safety review. We all went to the crater summit together, absolutely beautiful, however, in order to get the bike riders to their starting point on time we did not have enough time to go into the Visitors Center to learn more about Hakeakala. After the bikers were dropped off we thought we would be stopping in some of the towns we were passing through - especially Paia, but we made only one stop in Makawao, returning back to our resort much earlier than we had expected based on the listed tour duration. While we were pleased with what we were able to see, we felt we did not get the full Classic tour. Our guide, Dan, was very knowledgable about the geography, culture, myths/stories of Hawaii, geology, plant life and origins of the areas through which we passed.

It was surprisingly cold so pack an extra jacket for your stay. But it truly was an unforgettable experience, I know I will have to return and share this with my children as well one day.

Amazing experience!
Reviewed by: Sam, 2021/10/04We were fortunate enough to have had a new moon and clear sky up on Haleakalā back in September. We had breathtaking views of Milky Way, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, the Andromeda galaxy, and much more thanks to our amazing guide, Yoshi! Yoshi brought us a box of donuts and served us hot tea throughout the night. We were a bit fearful of driving down from the summit in the dark, but Yoshi led the way and made us feel very safe. This was easily one of our most memorable experiences during our visit to Maui and highly recommend it!

Word of advice for attendees- bring motion sickness medicine and take in advance! Very winding road going up and coming down, elevation makes it worse and people who typically do not get motion sick got motion sick! Tour guide had ginger chews, and barf bags, which helped, but wish I had remembered my Dramamine! The summit was absolutely breathtaking and we stopped at every cool place to take pictures! They had us stop at a perfect little shop to buy snacks and souvenirs and it was by far my favorite shop from the whole trip! Lots of Hawaii home grown products! Would recommend this tour 100%!

Absolutely amazing!

First you get to drive up 10k feet up Haleakala and view amazing landscapes, be above the clouds and then watch the sunset. Guide, Yoshi (not sure if spelling correctly) was amazing! Has been doing this tour for 20 years. Very laid back, knowledgeable, and offers up various spots for photos. He has very good equipment for star gazing. He sets everything up, provides winter jackets and even coffee and tea. We got to see Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Andromeda galaxy and much more. Would recommend to anyone! We spent about 1 hour of the tour star gazing and other tours were already gone while we were still up there. Absolutely amazing!

感動しました！
Reviewed by: ALOHA , 2021/09/128月に家族4人で参加しました。コロナ禍という事もあり、他の参加者はおらず私達だけでした。予定していた日の天候が崩れると連絡を頂き、急きょ到着翌日へ変更となりました。おかげ様で美しいサンセットを見ることができました。
その後の星空観測では、ヤマピーさんの説明を聞きながら月の表面を見たりとても楽しかったです。満月が近く、月が明るすぎてあまりハッキリと星が見えなかったのが少し残念でしたが、月のパワーをもらえました！
マウイ島での最高の思い出になりました!

Maui Haleakala Helicopter Tour with Road to Hana Sightseeing & Beachside Lunch
Great Excursion
Reviewed by: Michael W, 2021/08/28This is the way to do the Road to Hana. We did the late trip, meeting at the airport at 10:45am. We flew out at 11:30, landing in Hana just after 12. The flight was spectacular and our pilot was knowledgable and personable without being overwhelming.
We landed and met our driver who took us to the park for a great lunch. Our driver was exceptional and we learned a lot on our trip back.
I've done this as drive out and back, but the flight followed by the drive is the way to go.
