I participated with two friends. In the morning, we relaxed at the beach, and from 3 PM, we joined this tour. Haleakalā is about the same height as Mount Fuji, and we took our time going up, while our guide, Yamapee, shared stories about Maui's history, nature, geography, and culture as we enjoyed the scenery from the car. I thought it was just going to be about the stars, so I felt very lucky!
The sunset was breathtaking, with the deep blue sky gradually turning red, and we witnessed the rare green flash! It transported us into a world of darkness and silence. The gradient of colors was something I had never seen before! I realized how many vibrant colors there are.
As for the starry sky, we could see so many stars that I wondered which one was the North Star. However, with the latest telescope, they explained the birth of stars, constellations, and the future of the universe, which left me very satisfied. We even saw shooting stars and satellites!
I have been to a sunrise before, but I think the sunset is better! Watching the beautiful sky and stars made me feel so happy that I went to bed feeling content. Also, the heartfelt hospitality from our guide, Yamapee, was wonderful. I am thinking of going again in February next year to see the spring constellations! I believe there is no other tour that satisfies all five senses! It will change your perspective on life! I highly recommend participating!
友人と3人で参加しました。午前中は、海でゆっくり遊んで、午後3時から、このツアーに参加しました。
ハレアカラは、富士山と同じぐらいの高さで、ゆっくり、休憩を取りながら上がったのですが、車中、景色を見ながら、マウイの歴史、自然、地理、文化の話などをガイドのYamapeeさんがしてくれました。星の説明だけだと思っていたので、とってもラッキーでした！
サンセットは、真っ青な空が、序々に赤へと染まりだし、めったに見れないグリーンフラッシュ！そして、暗闇で静寂の世界へと連れていってくれました。今まで見たことのない色のグラデーション！色ってこんなにもあって、鮮やかなんだな~って。
星空の方は、どれが北極星？というぐらいたくさんの星が見れました。でも、ちゃんと、最新の望遠鏡を使って、星の誕生、星座、未来の宇宙のことを説明してくれたので、大満足でした。流れ星も人工衛星も見れましたよ！
私は、サンライズにも行ったことがあるのですが、サンセットの方がいい！と思います。キレイな空と星を眺めて、幸せな気分でベットに入って、おやすみｚｚｚですので・・・
あとは、やっぱり、ガイドのYamapeeさんのハートフルなおもてなしでしょうか。また、来年2月に春の星座を見に行きたいと思っています！五感すべてを満足させてくれるツアーは他にはないと思います！人生観変わりますよ~！！ぜひ、参加してみてください！

I participated in this tour for the first time just last year at the end of the year. I remember the driver who picked me up at my condo saying that the tour led by Mr. Yamauchi is different from ordinary tours, and since he is a star expert, it will surely be an amazing experience. Unfortunately, the weather was bad at that time, and I couldn't see the stars...
Then this summer, I came back to Maui again to join this tour! This time, the weather was favorable, and I was able to witness a wonderful sunset and a sky full of stars like I had never experienced before. While watching the sunset over the ever-changing sea of clouds, I had the chance to take photos at various points. After enjoying a warm bento and tea in the car, the long-awaited moment arrived. I held back the urge to look up at the sky, sat down in the relaxing chair prepared by Mr. Yamauchi (a warm blanket was also provided), and finally looked up at the sky. I was speechless for a while at the breathtaking panorama before me. Then, with beautiful music playing, Mr. Yamauchi began his explanations about the stars, the endless universe, and the insignificance of humanity. Some people were moved to tears... (Actually, I was too!?)
I believe the charm of this tour largely comes from Mr. Yamauchi's personality. His dedication to ensuring that even the children participating in the tour have a great time was evident. I have participated in various tours before, but this was the first time I experienced such kindness and thoughtfulness throughout the entire tour. When I come to Hawaii, I naturally feel a gentle connection to nature, but after participating in Mr. Yamauchi's tour, I found myself feeling even kinder. I really want many people to experience this incredible feeling!
私が初めてこちらのツアーに参加させて頂いたのが丁度去年の暮れでした。
滞在先のコンドミニアムまでピックアップに来てくれたドライバーの方が、今回連れて行ってくれる山内さんのツアーはそんじょそこらのツアーとは一味違うし、彼は星博士だからきっと感動するよ~と一生懸命に言っていたのを覚えてます。でも、残念ながらこの時は天候が悪く星を見ることができませんでした・・・。
そして今年の夏・・このツアーに参加するため再びマウイにやって来ました！
今回は、天候にも恵まれこれまでに体験したことのない素晴らしい夕日と満天の星を見ることができました。刻々と変わりゆく雲海上のサンセットを見ながら、ポイントポイントで写真を撮ってもらいました。そして、車の中で温かいお弁当とお茶をいただいた後、待ちに待った瞬間がやってきます。空を見上げるのをグッとこらえ、山内さんが用意してくれたリラックスチェアーに腰を下ろし（暖かい膝掛け毛布も用意されています）ここで初めて空を見上げました。目の前に広がる大パノラマにしばらく言葉が出ませんでした・・。そして、ステキな曲とともに山内さんの星の説明や限りない宇宙へのお話、人間のちっぽけさなどのお話が始まります。感動のあまり涙してしまう人も・・・（実は私も！？）
このツアーの魅力は、山内さんのお人柄によるものが大きいと思います。
ツアーに参加されていた子供さん達にさえも手を抜くことなく楽しんでもらおうという姿勢が伝わってきました。
私も今まで色々なツアーに参加しましたが、終始こんなに至れり尽くせりの優しさや思いやり溢れるツアーは初めてでした。ハワイに来ると不思議と自然にやさしい気持ちになれるのですが、山内さんのツアーに参加した後はそれ以上にやさしくなれる自分がいます。是非、この感動をたくさんの人に味わってもらいたいです！！
I've loved stars since I was a child, and it all started with a UFO sighting. A long time ago, there was a specialized book about cosmos, UFOs, and space that I read often. It sparked my interest, especially the part about how there are many luminous bodies in the constellation Perseus. It's truly mysterious that I'm now working with stars. (laughs)
When I look up at the starry sky filled with countless stars, my heart calms down peacefully, and I enter a new state of mind. Surely, there must be some mysterious power in the universe. I love Hawaii and have visited many times, participating in various tours. I truly feel that the tour experience is determined by the guide! I got completely hooked after joining a tour last summer♪
The view of the sea of clouds and the sunset from the summit is indescribably beautiful. (The sky after the sun sets is especially stunning!) After enjoying a delightful Japanese bento and warm tea, we finally moved on to stargazing☆☆
The explanations about the stars and the love for the universe under the starry sky reflect the essence of life itself. That is an emotional experience you can't find anywhere else! I couldn't help but bring a few dear friends along to share it with them (＾＾) Everyone was moved to tears... I was so satisfied~♪
They even stop by the delicious Krispy Kreme donuts. I believe this tour will continue to gain repeat customers through word of mouth!!

Since I'm a sweet tooth and a big foodie, I stopped by a place called Krispy Kreme, which is the only one in Hawaii, to treat everyone. If you don't try this, it feels like you haven't made the most of your trip to Maui! First, give it a try. And in the car, we enjoy the snacks everyone brought while having a good time. The most important thing is that our guests have fun. Well, I do love junk food, so it's a bit of a dilemma. (laughs)

I participated in this tour in November. Since I was joining alone, I was a bit anxious at first, but I felt reassured to see others who were also solo travelers, friends, and even newlyweds. Everyone was really nice, and I made some wonderful friends there.
Now, I’m really glad I participated in this tour. The journey was filled with fields of sugarcane, horses, and cows, making the trip enjoyable and exciting. The crater where part of "2001: A Space Odyssey" was filmed was incredibly majestic, and I saw a perfectly round rainbow that felt otherworldly. The sunset from the viewpoint at 3,055 meters was so beautiful it almost brought me to tears. The 360-degree sunset, the fleeting green horizon visible only for a moment as the sun set, and the sea of clouds dyed in lavender were all sights I had never seen before.
The lunch was delicious and catered to Japanese tastes, and they even provided warm tea, down jackets, and blankets—everything was well thought out. The stargazing was fantastic; I saw the moon's craters, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Milky Way, which left me very satisfied. I heard that Saturn can be seen in winter, so I definitely want to go again someday.
11月にこのツアーに参加させていただきました。
一人での参加だったので最初は少し不安に思っていたのですが、私と同じ一人の方や友達同士、そして新婚さんと色々な方が参加していて安心しました。とっても良い人達ばかりで、そこで素晴しい友達もできました。
さて、このツアー、参加して本当に良かったです。
途中の道には一面のさとうきび畑、馬や牛たち、行くまでの道のりも楽しくて、テンション上がりっぱなし。
「2001年宇宙の旅」の一部が撮影されたという火口はすっごく壮大で、サークル状の真ん丸な虹も見れてこの世のものとは思えないくらいの素晴しい景色でした。標高3,055ｍにあるポイントから見た夕日も、涙が出そうになりました。360度の夕焼け、日が暮れた時ほんの一瞬だけ見える緑色の地平線、ラベンダー色に染まる雲海。初めて見るものばかり。
お弁当は日本人好みで美味しかったし、温かいお茶、ダウンジャケットにブランケットまで用意してくれていたれりつくせり。スターゲイジングは月のクレーターとかアンドロメダ星雲とか、天の川が見れて大満足でした。冬は土星が見れるらしいので、いつか絶対にまた行きたいと思います。

This trip was with my parents, so I couldn't participate in activities like scuba diving, which is why I joined this tour. I was told that only the 9:00 AM session had Japanese language support, but since we were in Maui, everyone except for us and a couple was foreign. All the explanations and the talks on the boat to the submarine were in English, but the atmosphere was very American and really lively. The submarine experience is something you can't have in Japan, and the underwater scenery was truly beautiful. It was even better than an aquarium. Since the location was Lahaina, we explored Lahaina after the tour. Front Street had many shops, so we never got bored.
