Wedding ceremonies have been held at the fern grotto for decades. It's a historic and beautiful spot to get married or renew your vows. We didn't know this before arriving but it was a special surprise since my fiance proposed the day before. The cruise to the fern grotto was the perfect way to end our vacation in Kauai. Even if you're not going for a wedding, you'll get to hear and watch Hawaiian singers and musicians perform a traditional Hawaiian wedding song. So whether you're celebrating an engagement, a honeymoon, or 50 years of marriage, this beautiful destination will fill your heart with love. I'm so glad we did this tour!

The Smiths family luau was very well organized. They took care of all the guest and made you feel very welcomed. The food was very delicious and the show was very well done with incredible dancing and special effects. You not only go there to have a good time, but you learn the history of the island and all it has to offer. I would rate this as a Superior experience.

Our whole party of six was pleasantly surprised by the Smith's Family Garden Luau. We have been to other luaus and this rates as the best so far. The grounds are beautiful! The food and service was excellent! The staff were very friendly. The dinner entertainment was nice and the after dinner show was very good and informative of Hawaiian cultural history.

This was my first trip to Hawaii and my first Luau. The Smith family did an amazing job. The food was delicious and the show was outstanding. Highly recommend!

The grounds of the Smith Family Luau are beautiful, kept up well. The unearthing of the pig was a great experience. The food, well, it was okay, nothing special. The mai tai's were a funny brown color, not sure what juice was in it. The best part was the show. The music and dancers were amazing! So happy we were able to see it.

The boat felt a little outdated but the staff and the scenery made up for it. Our girls had fun riding the boat, watching the hula dancers, and learning about some history.

I have visited Oahu and Hawaii Island many times, but this summer I went to Kauai for the first time in 43 years. I don't have any memories from back then, but it's a shame that you can't enter the caves now. Still, the area around the caves is full of atmosphere, and the boat tour was quite enjoyable with various activities.

当時の記憶は全然ないのですが、今は洞窟内に入れないのが残念ですね。
それでも洞窟周囲は雰囲気たっぷりですし、船上でもイロイロ楽しませてくれて、なかなか楽しいツアーでした。

This tour was simply amazing!! Our pilot JT was experienced and knowledgeable. He put all of our fears at ease. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The aerial views of the Na Pali Coast took my breath away. I recommend this tour to everyone who wants to see all the beauty of Kauai. It was truly worth every penny.

This airplane tour was perfect from start to finish. The friendly staff was very helpful and accommodating. Our pilot JT was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He put all of our fears at ease. The one hour plus flight allowed us to see all of Kauai coasts. We saw many waterfalls, the Pacific Grand Canyon and the beautiful Na Pali Coast. It literally took my breath away!!! I highly recommend this tour to everyone!! Mahalo!!

We had a fantastic time at the luau. Delicious food and a fabulous show. This is a must do on Kauai. The gardens are also beautiful and includes a guided tram ride thru them. Great service. Loved the transportation to the luau and home.

Most of the passengers were from Europe and America, but we leisurely floated down the Wailua River. Onboard, there was a hula performance accompanied by Hawaiian songs played on the ukulele, which engaged the passengers in dancing and made for a fun experience. After disembarking, the "Fern Grotto" was just a few minutes away. It seems that in the past, visitors could enter the grotto, but now the view is only from the deck area in front, which was a bit disappointing, yet we still enjoyed it thoroughly. On the way back, we spent about an hour and a half, taking in the scenery and encountering canoes navigating the Kailua River. Since it was an early morning departure, it was just the right time to head out for lunch afterward. As it was my first time on Kauai, I think this is a recommended option.

乗客殆どが欧米人ばかりでしたが、ワイルア川をゆったりと下り、シダの洞窟までの船内はウクレレ演奏によるハワイアンソングでのフラショ－があり、乗船客を巻き込んでの踊りもあり楽しませてくれました。下船後の「シダの洞窟」は数分で着く場所にあり、以前は中に入れたようですが、現在は手前のデッキ広場からの眺めになり、少し残念ではありますが、十分に堪能出来ました。帰りは外の景色を眺めながら、カイルア川を行き来するカヌーと遭遇しながらの行程で約１時間半くらいの時間でした。朝一の出航だったので、終わると昼食に出掛けるのに丁度良い時間でしたよ。初カウアイ島だったので、おすすめのオプションだと思います。

Great little boat ride to the beautiful fern grotto! I loved the song and little hike up. The tour guide was wonderful we had a great time.

The food and staff were excellent. Would like to have seen more of tribal danciing like the Tahiti dance with the drums and the fire danceing .

The weather was bad on the day I had made my reservation, and since it was hard to see much, the friendly and approachable staff kindly rescheduled my reservation for the next day. The guide during the flight was in English, so I couldn't understand everything, but I still had a great time! Since I had visited the attractions on Kauai the day before, I enjoyed it twice as much!

予約していた日には天気が悪く、あまりよく見られないとのことで優しく気さくなスタッフさんが、予約を翌日にずらして対応してくれました。
飛行中のガイドは英語だったためあまり理解できなかったですが、十分に楽しめました！
前日までにカウアイ島の観光スポットに行っていたので、2倍楽しめました！

After a friendly and efficient introduction we had a phantastic flight with Marcus. He told us lots of facts about the spots and answered every question. Because of a windowseat everyone had a great possibility to take photos
We total recommend this tour. It was really outstanding.

申し込みもぎりぎり、集合場所に到着もぎりぎり。しかし　係の人の丁寧な対応にほっとしました。何分ここは外国。レンタカーで乗り付け　心臓バクバク。乗船後も係の人が波でぬれるから、とか　ランチはこれらを自由にと　親切に説明してくれました。乗船の方々もオーストラリアとかニュージーランド等々ほんとハワイの方以外の人が多くて親切でしたよ。勿論船は風を浴びて素敵な景色を満喫。良かった。勿論イルカも亀も見ることが出来幸せ感いっぱい。

I was able to see live performances and hula dancing, and I had a great time on board. Being a sacred place, I also felt a sense of power. I want to go again. Mahalo.

This was a great activity. The boat ride was great. The captain's commentary was insightful and the scenery was beautiful. The entertainment was also very good.

The visuals were stunning, and the soft background music was nice. There is a prior notice, but if you look at the camera too much during the flight, it can make you feel nauseous; however, I think it's fine as long as you just look outside.

見応え素晴らしく僅かな音量のバックミュージックが良かったです。
事前案内ありますが飛行中カメラ見過ぎと酔いますが、外を観てるだけなら問題ないかと思います。

Airplane ride was amazing. We were able to see parts of the island you can't via car.

Amazing place, hospitality and food!! Enjoyed the spectacular show they had!! Great dancers and ambience!!

The food was very good, and the show was good as well. My only real complaint is the time gap between events happening. We arrived and were treated to a tram tour of the botanical gardens, which is fabulous. After that we had approximately 40 minutes before the Imu ceremony where they pull the pig out of the oven. Although we further explored the gardens, there's only so many times you can admire a flower or tree. My wife and I decided to find seats (open seating for parties less than 5), and we choose poorly. The bar doesn't open until after the Imu ceremony, so we weren't able to enjoy a drink (other than water) while we waited. After the Imu ceremony, the band started playing music and the bar opened. Once the buffet started, we realized our poor choice of seats, as we were among the last tables to be signaled for the buffet. At least we had drinks by that time, but the waiting wears on you. The food was good, but once we were finished, there was only the music to listen to. Normally this is an opportunity to talk to the other guests, but the seating arrangement isn't conducive to starting a conversation with strangers.
After another 30 minutes or dead time or so, we moved from the dining area to the theater. The show was entertaining, with traditional dances and music, but it just didn't flow as a story for me. I felt like it was more of a documentary of Hawaiian dance. My wife and I were ready to go when it was over (even before).

I enjoyed the whole experience immensely! The food was great and the entertainment was fantastic! What I loved the most was that there was constantly something going on, I was never bored waiting for the next tick of the clock to happen, unlike a different luau we went to later during our trip.

My idea about a Luau was...some food and a little bit of Tahitian dancing on a hotel property...This is what we saw year after year walking on Kaanapali beach - Maui .

Smith Family Garden Luau IT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT- worth attending. They are very well organized and offer you a unique experience!

1. You get greeted by a local girl and boy who are offering a lei and at this point you get a group picture taken- nice touch- no pressure to buy it,

2.They offer you a tour of the garden and after that you have time to wander by yourself- 50 min- until they do the pork ceremony.

3. You are invited to your table- parties 6 or more have assigned seats- very thoughtful. They have a neat system to invite you to get the food without overcrowding the area. BTW- plenty of good food and drinks.
4. During the meal they entertain you : a little bit of dancing and singing and they invite people from the crowd to teach them how to dance. It was really neat !!
4. After the meal you are invited to an outdoor theater for an 1 hour show. It was A REAL show...lights, music...put together very professional! Enough seats for everyone, you can seethe scene from every seat . At the entrance you can pick up your photos.


I think it is the only Luau worth attending :)

My husband and I with our 21 yr old daughter bought this activity and were not disappointed....great location and people. Asher was the perfect teacher - patient and encouraging. None of us had ever surfed before but had a great time and got up or close to it a few times! lol! We highly recommend!!

Wailua River Cruise (Half Day / English Guide)
Since I had previously participated in a tour with a Japanese guide, I joined this affordable tour without a guide this time.
The cheerful English guide entertained everyone, and it was fun to sing and dance together!
After getting off the boat, the well-maintained walkway was reassuring, as my mother, who has some difficulty walking, was able to manage the distance.
The Wailua River Cruise is wonderful no matter how many times you come!

シダの洞窟観光遊覧船（半日／英語ガイド）
以前は日本語ガイドのツアーに参加したので、今回はガイド不要だったのでお安いこのツアーに参加。
陽気で皆を楽しませる英語ガイドで、一緒に歌ったりダンスしたりと面白かったです！
ボートを降りてからも少し脚が悪い母でも歩ける距離できちんと歩道も整備されており安心でした。
何度来ても素敵なワイルアリバークルーズでした。

Best luau ever! Food was amazing! Drinks were strong! ❤️

The river is lovely and the grotto too - this activity is very affordable compared to many tourist attractions
