Kauai
A very nice peaceful river ride. Enjoyed the history discussion on cruise.
The gardens here are so beautiful and I loved getting the time to be able to walk around at our own pace after taking the tram around before the events started. Getting to see the Imu ceremony was one of the best parts to me, it was very neat to be able to see how they cook the pig! The food was delicious and they had a nice variety to choose from and the fire knife portion of the show was amazing! We had a great time.
This was our third time attending the Smith Luau.
The whole venue/event is first class starting with the tour of the beautiful grounds and gardens.
That is followed by the ceremony of removing the pig from the cooking pit and the history surrounding that.
After a short break, its time for the luau buffet which has incredible salads, pork, chicken, etc... and an open bar with a nice selection of drinks available and their mai tais, of course.
During the buffet, there is live entertainment on a stage for all to see. If you're lucky, Kameka Smith will be there and he is very entertaining and has a pretty darn good voice.
After the buffet, everyone walks to an outdoor stage and is treated to an hour plus long theatrical production featuring fire, drummers, dancers, live music and a historical narration of the origins and history surrounding Hawaii. The show alone is worth going for, but throw in the gardens, the delicious food, constant entertainment and its the BEST.
PS - Don't forget to say hello to Auntie Cecilia. She met Elvis 4 times!
The entire evening was so great because we had time to relax on the beautiful grounds and take pictures before dinner. The dinner was first class with so much food. The employees were so attentive and spoke to us often. The entertainment is of course very professional. This is a treasure to have these traditions kept alive. Thank you so much. We were sad when it ended.
The food was delicious but very little time to eat! We were seated in a table where we were the last to be fed which was ok but thought they would give us more time to eat & drink. The garden is beautiful and enjoyable! The Smith's Luau was a great choice.
The Show was great too!
We had a great time and what was the show in a European movie theater in the morning here in london on the way out hades was a bit like a ride to get the little one..made of
- Check in was 8am but the boat and crew was ready at 08:20 am. Next time it will be great, when they inform the guests. Because all get nervous, if the crew isnt here or by an other adress...
- But at all it was very nice ond the crew was soooo friendly
- We had a lot to laugh
- lunch was good
It was a nice cruise throught the river to see the Grotto.
This was such a great time!! Awesome food!! Awesome show!!! Just an all around perfect time. We will for sure come again and recommend to everyone we know. The family is very hospitable and professional. Thank you for letting us be a part of your family. Mahalo!!!
Our trip with pilot JT was simply perfect!
JT did a great job of flying and narrating the tour at the same time.
Our favorite thing was the Nā Pali Coast .
I highly recommend this amazing adventure!
Thank you so much for joining us and taking the time to share your experience with others. It was our pleasure showing you our "Island Paradise".
Greeted with Aloha and smiles.
We have been many times to this luau. We enjoy it every time. Food is good, and if you don’t get full it’s your fault. Plenty of alcohol too. Every thing included in price. You learn a little history at the show.
The Smith family is very attentive. They are the definition of Aloha!
Beautiful property, wonderful food, and a very entertaining show.
It was a nice family outing. It was relaxing boat tour. One way we had musicians, singer and dancer. In the other direction there was an interesting commentary. Got off the boat to see Fern Grotto. Good price vs quality!
Our family of four had a great time! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The event lasted 4 hours from start to finish, and is the best luau that we have been to so far. We would definitely go back!
The Smith's family is awesome and entertaining. Wear mosquito repellent when going, just a taught. They sing and entertain as you travel up the fern grotto and had us all doing the hoki pokie. We will be doing their luau too so we'll let you know how it goes!
The grounds are amazing at the Smith Family luau! The food are delicious and the after dinner show is awesome, the best luau ever!
We appreciated the ride up to view the grotto, which everyone visiting Kaua’i should see. The best part was the music! Made me thirsty!
I highly recommend the Smith boat ride without reservation.
Love the food and show. Was disappointed with the garden areas..
This was a return trip and we were not disappointed. The Smith family does a great job on their property, the food is AWESOME, and the entertainment is first class. I would highly recommend you try them out!
This was a great trip. Informative Guide, beautiful walk up to the fern canyon. Great entertainment all around fun. The hula lesson was fun too!!!
Nicely organized and fun filled event. Just performance isn’t that high level. Dancers were ok but not really professional level of dancers. Food was good. And overall experience was very good.
The crew members were great entertainment and informative. Highly recommended
Beautiful views. It is a lot of fun. Great entertainment. Nice people. Would recommend it.
The trip was great, the entertainment was great.Enjoyed all there was to see and would be great for all ages.
We wanted to give this tour 4.5 stars but couldn't. We really enjoyed the sights and the information that our guide Steve provided. He was attentive, informative, and entertaining. One suggestion would be to have a bottle of water available for each tour guest.
Friendly people and nice tour with lots of information
This was an amazing tour of he Napali Coast. The crew was phenomenal! They were so personable and knowledgeable. They were very attentive to our kids and kept everyone engaged and excited. The captain steered the boat with precision allowing us to get into small cave openings and over large waves.
Bring non-spray sunscreen and a hat that won’t blow off since it gets very windy. We took motion sickness pills prior to the trip which really helped.
The views were breathtaking! Highly recommend.
Great and fun trip and just takes a couple of hours
This was a good experience all the way around! Ordering tickets was easy through Veltra. Check in was seamless.
The 10 min tram ride around the beautiful grounds was just long enough to give an overview of the area but not so long that a 3 year old would get bored. They allowed time before dinner to walk around and get the wiggles out. The food was good and they even marked the gluten free dishes. There was another break before the show to run around and use the restrooms (even had a golf cart to transport there & back). The acts were exciting enough, and short enough to keep the toddler entertained and the fire dancer was great! Only drawbacks: cell service almost non-existent (hard to connect with late arrivers), lots of waiting to get in because of the photo line-maybe do it after tram ride).
Relatively inexpensive way to see some of the river greenery. Appreciated the history/culture narration. Lead entertainer on the way back was funny! Hula ladies don’t really seem into it, you feel like they are just doing a job and don’t necessarily enjoy it, and they seemed tired. Fern grotto a beautiful site.
