This time, we invited a couple of friends for our second participation. I really wanted to show them the beauty of the Napali Coast. It's hard to explain in words. They seemed very moved by their first snorkeling experience at the age of 60. It turned out to be a great memory. We were the only Japanese people there, but the staff was very considerate.

Relatively inexpensive way to see some of the river greenery. Appreciated the history/culture narration. Lead entertainer on the way back was funny! Hula ladies don’t really seem into it, you feel like they are just doing a job and don’t necessarily enjoy it, and they seemed tired. Fern grotto a beautiful site.

We very much enjoyed the kayak and hike to Sacred Falls! Our guide Dustin was outstanding! He shared his knowledge of the area and kept us entertained with his jokes throughout the tour. The hike is muddy so wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet and dirty.
We would definitely do this activity again!

We didn't know this before arriving but it was a special surprise since my fiance proposed the day before. The cruise to the fern grotto was the perfect way to end our vacation in Kauai. Even if you're not going for a wedding, you'll get to hear and watch Hawaiian singers and musicians perform a traditional Hawaiian wedding song. So whether you're celebrating an engagement, a honeymoon, or 50 years of marriage, this beautiful destination will fill your heart with love. I'm so glad we did this tour!

The food was very delicious and the show was very well done with incredible dancing and special effects. This snorkel sail was by far the highlight of our vacation in Kauai. For years I've dreamed of sailing along the Na Pali coast and it was more beautiful than I ever imagined. The emerald cliffs were absolutely breathtaking. Other passengers spotted whales breaching the water nearby but I couldn't take my eyes of the coast. As we began our sail back to the harbor we were accompanied by a pod of dolphins who swam alongside and in front of our boat for several minutes; it was magical.
My fiance's favorite part of the cruise was the snorkeling. We had so much fun swimming in a secluded cove and spotting unique marine life.
I can't leave out the exceptional crew. As we sailed along the coast they pointed out historic sites, popular film locations, famous (and notorious) hikes, and told us about the local wildlife.
We'll relish in the memories of this tour forever!

Amazing show! Delicious Food!

This was a great show last time I came to Kauai I went to Smith's and this was by far a better show. For one it was on the beach like a luau should be, The pork was delicious, not as strong tasting flavor like some. They had chicken as well. Salad, mac salad, desserts were delish, pineapple upside down cake. Yummmm! The food was amazing the dancers were awesome the singing was beautiful. The fire performer was freaking AMAZING! My 7 year old Granddaughter was engaged the whole show. Thanks to all the performers! Not to mention this was a great deal! Thanks again!

Great Luau Experience

Luau Makaiwa was a great experience! The food was delicious. We loved the mai tais and pineapple juice. The management was top notched. They made sure we were taken care of. Entertainment was great! The music was very soothing. The dancers were very graceful.

I would recommend everyone to attend this luau because you will have a great time and will not regret it. Location is close to the beach. There was even a professional photographer.

Rain can't stop a good time.

A warm rain fell, off and on during our float up the river, but since we were going to get wet anyhow, it didn't matter. Our guides, Web and Dan, were very attentive and funny. And knowledgeable about what we were seeing along the way.

One thing that was different from our expectation, but didn't matter too much, was that since the road past Hanalei is closed indefinitely due to a storm, the guides had to park and load things in different spots than normal, which added to the walk to the beach.

I would recommend this trip to anyone who likes fun flatwater kayaking, and great snorkeling on the north coast of Kaua'i.

We got to kayak down the Wailua River. Jay our guide was amazing. He told us about historical information about the beautiful island of Kauai and it’s history. Our hike to the waterfall was deep in the interior and he pointed out plants and trees and gave us history and background about them. He was patient and very friendly. Our swim in the falls was something on my bucket list and was definitely what I was expecting and more! Thank you to Jay and everyone at Kayak Kauai!

Great Luau

The Luau Makaiwa was a fantastic experience. We visited the island in February and were greeted by lot of rain during the majority of our trip. Luckily, the Luau is inside a giant tent outside and by the water. The buffet food at the Luau was tasty! I wish there were more options for entrees and desserts however. Open bar had wine, beer, and mai tais. It was my boyfriend and I's first Luau and we both had a great time. This is a smaller production Luau which in many ways could be a great thing. Every table had a good view of the stage and it had a smaller family vibe rather than an extravagant production like the other luaus on the island. There were some vendors and activities planned but there could have been more in my opinion. The musicians and dancers were funny and talented. The performances were both entertaining and educational encompassing all of Polynesian culture. I can see this being a great activity for families who want to avoid the crazy crowds at the other Luaus and still get a authentic experience.

The grounds of the Smith Family Luau are beautiful, kept up well. The unearthing of the pig was a great experience. The food, well, it was okay, nothing special. The mai tai's were a funny brown color, not sure what juice was in it. The best part was the show. The music and dancers were amazing! So happy we were able to see it.

Holo Holo Super Kauai Snorkel Tour - Niihau & Na Pali Coast Adventure with Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks

Beautiful scenery and a fun crew!

We had a great time on this snorkel cruise! The Na Pali Coast is gorgeous and our crew made the experience that much better by being so friendly and accommodating. They were right there if you needed anything, ready to answer any questions you had and give background information on the island, and were even offering to take pictures for you. We were fortunate to get to see so much marine life from the boat--dolphins, whales, sea turtles, manta rays, and a baby octopus. The only downside is that we wish we could have snorkeled for a longer period of time (because we love it!). The ride back to Kauai from Niihau was definitely rough, but we took Dramamine beforehand and wore sea bands, which all seemed to help. The crew definitely lightened the mood with jokes and took efficient care of those unfortunate few who got sick. We would definitely recommend this excursion!

This was my first Luau and wow what a great experience. I attended with my Mother. The place where the Luau was beautiful, although I wish it was slightly closer to the ocean!!
It was awesome to have vendors there, I got myself the cutest turtle necklace I had seen on the island.
The table where we were placed was directly mid stage which was perfect for the performances. The company at the table was also great. The food was delicious, desert was just ok. Open bar of Mai tais was of course amazing.
The performers were by far my favorite. So much beauty in the dancing, instruments, singing and their attire.
I was so happy to find this deal and was very impressed with my very first Luau.

I don't have any memories from back then, but it's a shame that you can't enter the caves now. Still, the area around the caves is full of atmosphere, and the boat tour was quite enjoyable with various activities.

Most of the passengers were from Europe and America, but we leisurely floated down the Wailua River. Onboard, there was a hula performance accompanied by Hawaiian songs played on the ukulele, which engaged the passengers in dancing and made for a fun experience. After disembarking, the "Fern Grotto" was just a few minutes away. It seems that in the past, visitors could enter the grotto, but now the view is only from the deck area in front, which was a bit disappointing, yet we still enjoyed it thoroughly. On the way back, we spent about an hour and a half, taking in the scenery and encountering canoes navigating the Kailua River. Since it was an early morning departure, it was just the right time to head out for lunch afterward. As it was my first time on Kauai, I think this is a recommended option.

Brought us to a hotel beach

It was wasted money. We drove with the guides 45min to Hanalei. There we walked relatively long along the public beach to the kayaks and started to kayak in the river next corner. Nothing spectacular and you can see everything from the road. After about 1 hour kayaking they brought us to a dead reef in front of a hotel where you can go by yourself as well.

Great Smaller Kid-Friendly Luau!

We have been to 2 other luaus on other Hawaiian islands and this was the best by far. We have 2 boys (9 and 7 year old) and the others we went to were way too large. This one was perfect size and had really nice activities for the kids (that the folks that ran them encouraged kids to do). In addition, the luau made sure our kids sat in the front of the table to have good views. We drove about 35 mins to get to this luau but was worth it and highly recommend it for those that are looking for an outing with kids.

Wonderful luau!

We thoroughly enjoyed this luau! The singers, musicians, and dancers are all outstanding. Hula master Halao o Leilani does a beautiful job telling the stories of the islands through a variety of performances. It is a smaller venue for a luau and there was not a bad seat in the house. The luau is set in a big white open-aired tent along the shores of the Coconut Coast. We enjoyed walking around the grounds before the luau began. There was plenty of food and desserts and lots of refreshments. There are bottomless mai tais, beer, wine, and soda from 5:30 to 7pm. Be advised that the beverages are no longer served after 7pm. The performance goes until ~8:30pm. The mood at the luau was upbeat and celebratory and we were so glad we went!
