This is as honestly the highlight of my trip. It was definitely worth waking up at 4am to travel from north shore to south shore. It was so organized and straight to the point which I loved. The whole crew was amazing and kind, always making sure passengers were okay and comfortable. It’s funny because I’m sure the crew has seen the views a million times, yet they still make it enjoyable and share such an insightful information about Kaua’i. The views were amazing and no pictures or videos can ever do them justice. I really appreciated this time experience and will carry it with me forever! Thank you so much, Holo Holo!

Although the see condition was rough, we had a wonderful time viewing the famous Na Pali coast line. This cruise in winter time is good for people who do not get sea sick.
Besides, we saw a number of whales jumping out of water around our boat. It's the mating season for whales, therefore, they are very active. Seeing whales jumping out of water nearby was out if my expectations. I'd definitely recommend this cruise.

Relatively on-time schedule, and easy to find the meeting spot.
The tour was well organized with a good size of the crews and customers for the price. The boat is steady and clean, very nice to stay for 5 hours.
The captain was very experienced and he made the boat ride so fun by how he explains things, how he operates the boat, and how he interacts with the customers. He is very respectable and friendly.
The crews are also very informative! They shared so many stories of Hawaii myth, how they grew up in Kauai, and how wonderful nature is.

I am very glad that we did a boat tour to see the Napali Coast. I hiked several trails along the coast and took a flight tour as well. All the views have different looks. I loved that I could get to do snorkel with the boat tour, I swam with so many fish and turtles.

Our experience was pretty much perfect! The crew quickly found some dolphins which we stopped to watch and talk about, such amazing animals! The snorkel location was beautiful and the crew told us all about the island and various areas relative to local history, legends and the like. We then took to sailing as the weather was being friendly enough and enjoyed drinks and lunch. It's difficult to explain the joy of sailing off the coast of Kauai with a beer and a great group of people, it's worth every penny and more! We asked around the island and were told by every local that Holo Holo was the only choice for cruises around the island, they did not disappoint! We will be back to Kauai and will absolutely return to Holo Holo again

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I went on my last trip to Hawaii and took a cruise to see the Na Pali Coast on Kauai. Two days prior, I enjoyed a helicopter tour booked through Veltra, which offered a completely different perspective from above. The day before, I drove to the Na Pali Coast to view it from the ground.

Unlike the views from the sky or the mountaintops, seeing the steep coastline from the boat below was truly impressive. Along the way, we spotted wild goats on the cliffs, saw a rainbow, and even got to approach a spot where we could bathe in the water. It was a memorable cruise.

We ended the day with dinner while watching a beautiful sunset, but the view was so stunning that I hardly remember the meal itself. This was the most enjoyable tour of my trip. I experienced the Na Pali Coast from three different perspectives: by air, by car, and by boat. My family and I were able to enjoy the atmosphere just by ourselves.

My best friend and I was visiting Kauai for the first time. We wanted to choose a few excursions that allowed us to see most of the island and learn about the culture/history. This tour was...... AMAZING. Such a beautiful coast. The crew on the boat was more than great & very attentive to all passengers. They were all very knowledgeable about the island, and just overall made the trip fun. The provided lunch was delicious. Aside from the breath taking views of the Na Pali coast, we saw hundreds of spinner dolphins, sea turtles, seals, the forbidden island, and snorkeled. One thing I will say though, if you get motion sick, this is not the tour for you.

Tony and Cam were very friendly and humorous. They stopped at all the amazing places. We took the 8:30 AM tour and got to see dolphins, turtles, beautiful caves and multiple waterfalls. Snorkeling was fun and could see coral reef and many types of fishes. I would highly recommend Makana Charters to my friends and family.

If you are looking for some great Napali Coast views from the water, look no further. This tour was the complete package with a good amount of time for snorkeling, marine life watching (dolphins, whales, sea lions), and some good ole laid back sailing. You will start in Port Allen and travel north west up the famed Napali coast. With food and refreshments along the way this is a great afternoon of sailing and taking in the sights. The water can get a little choppy out there so if you are prone to sea sickness I would recommend taking something a few hours before departure. If not it is nothing a couple of beers won't fix! I took hundreds of photos and am having even a tough time deleting the duplicates! If you have the time one day in Kauai, I would highly reccomend this tour.

We sped along to the Napali Coast. The waves were strong, and I got seasick.
While we were traveling by boat, we encountered a pod of dolphins and were able to stop the boat for some watching.
The dolphins entertained us by jumping and even doing flips.
The sunset was also magnificent.
Additionally, we were able to go whale watching.
On the way there, there was a buffet with light snacks like crackers and cheese, and for dinner, we had a buffet with chicken, fried rice, pasta, and salad. The food was delicious.
The staff was friendly and attentive, always with a smile.

船で移動中は イルカの群と遭遇し、船を停めてウオッチングさせてもらえました。

My spouse and I participated together. I was anxious because I didn't understand English and there didn't seem to be any other participants from Japan, but the staff, who were from overseas, were very friendly and kind, making our time enjoyable. The drinks were delicious, and we were overwhelmed by the magnificent views of the Na Pali Coast! The sunset was beautiful, and we truly had a wonderful time. The only regret was that I wished we could have seen dolphins and whales. If I have the chance, I would love to participate again! ✌️

I participated on the third day of my 10-day stay on Kauai Island, and I highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Kauai for the first time!

You can have fun for almost an entire day, and while you’ll be exhausted, it’s perfect for creating lasting memories and getting great Instagram photos!

**Thoughts / What I Liked**
- It was just so much fun. Anyone going to Kauai for the first time absolutely must do this! My spouse and I had a blast.

- The boat stops almost at the entrance of the cave, allowing you to take photos at your leisure. The crew is also very proactive in taking pictures for you. During our trip, we stopped four times for about 10-15 minutes each to take photos of the cave, dolphins, the stunning cliffs, and the sunset.

- Seeing those breathtaking cliffs was amazing. We were also lucky enough to be surrounded by a pod of 10-20 dolphins, which was the highlight!

**Advice**
- Try to sit at the front of the cruiser. It’s super fun!

- Be prepared to get completely soaked! It’s best to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. Your face will get drenched too, so be cautious with your makeup. It’s a good idea to bring a towel in a waterproof backpack.

- If you don’t want to get sunburned, you can either stay inside the cruiser or wear a long-sleeved shirt and a hat with a strap. Sunglasses are a must for everyone.

- The tour is conducted entirely in English, but don’t worry if you don’t understand everything; the essential communication can be conveyed through gestures.

- We departed around 9 AM and returned around 6 or 7 PM. By the time we got back, most shops were closed, and it was getting dark. Don’t forget where you parked your car!

ーそして、とにかくズブ濡れになります！ので、上下含めて濡れてもよい格好にした方がいいです。顔もビシャビシャになるので、メイクにも気をつけて。濡れても染みないリュックにタオルを入れていった方がいいです。

ー焼けたくない人は、クルーザーの中にずっと入っているか、長袖マストの帽子も紐付きをオススメ。サングラスは全員マストでしょう。

ー朝9時くらい？に出発の戻りが18時か19時頃でした。

We couldn't leave Kauai without experiencing the Na Pali Coast, so we participated as a couple. While we had significant dissatisfaction with the snorkeling point, we managed to tolerate it. The breakfast was good, and the original sandwiches we made for lunch were exceptionally delicious. The unlimited alcohol was a nice touch. We were very satisfied with the stunning views and the hospitality from the dolphins, turtles, and flying fish.

I headed to the meeting place (meeting time 3 PM) by rental car. The office is located in a building on the right side as you head towards the port, and just beyond that, there is a large parking lot where you can park. After parking, I checked in at the office by confirming the health status items displayed on the screen (all in English). At 3:10 PM, the captain arrived, called out names one by one to confirm everyone was present, and explained the precautions in English before heading to the port. Besides us, there was another Japanese family participating, but the other 12 or 13 groups were all foreigners. Before boarding, we took off our shoes and went barefoot, leaving our shoes in the designated area (some people chose to carry theirs on board).

We set sail at 3:30 PM. There were three staff members, including the captain (two men and one woman). At first, it was cloudy, and we could see rain falling in the distance over the sea, which made us worry about the weather. However, as we headed towards the Na Pali Coast, the skies cleared up. We enjoyed the cruise while having drinks and light snacks (like cheese and crackers), and after about an hour, we finally saw the towering cliffs.

From there, we were treated to breathtaking views that you can't find in Japan! After about an hour, we reached the end of the Na Pali Coast (slowing down the boat at various points to take in the scenery) and turned around. On the way back, we carefully navigated the boat into a spot where the cliffs had eroded, creating a cave-like area, which was a lot of fun. We were also shown a place where there were many sea turtles, and we were able to see two of them surface.

Around 6 PM, we had dinner (there were quite a few options for rice and side dishes). We also got to see dolphins, who jumped out of the water and spun around to greet us.

Finally, just after 7 PM, we counted down together for the moment the sunset hit the ocean, and there was applause at the moment of sunset! (For those who wanted, there was a toast with champagne!) After that, we were moved by the changing colors of the sky from sunset to night. We safely arrived back at the port at 7:30 PM and disbanded.

The captain provided explanations through the microphone while driving the boat, and the other two staff members were very friendly, chatting with us and taking pictures for us. I couldn’t drink alcohol since I had to drive back, but others enjoyed the "all-you-can-drink!" It was the best time ever.

15時30分出航。スタッフは船長さんを含めて3名（男性2名・女性1名）です。最初は曇っていて、海の遠方では、雨が降っているのが見えて、天気がどうなるか心配しましたが、ナパリコーストに向かう途中でどんどん晴れてきました。行きに飲み物と軽食（チーズやクラッカー等）を頂きながらクルーズを楽しみ、1時間ほど進むといよいよ断崖絶壁の山が見えてきます。
そこからは、日本にはない絶景をこれでもか！というくらい楽しめます。約1時間ほどでナパリコーストの端に到着（途中ポイント・ポイントで船の速度を落として景色を堪能します）してUターン。戻る途中、絶壁が削れていて少し洞窟みたいなっている所に船を慎重に入れて楽しみます。また、ウミガメがたくさん居る所を案内してくれて、2匹水面に現れて見ることができました。18時頃、夕食を食べました。（ご飯、おかず、結構種類がありました。）また、イルカにも会えて、水面から飛び上がり、くるくる回転して歓迎してくれました。
いよいよ19時ちょっと過ぎに、海面に夕日が沈む瞬間を、皆でカウントダウンして、日没の瞬間に拍手！！（希望者にはシャンペンで乾杯！）その後、空が夕焼けから夜に向かう色の変化に感動し、19時30分、無事港に到着し解散となりました。
船長さんは運転しながら、マイクで所々説明をしてくれ、残りの2名のスタッフは、フレンドリーに話しかけてくれたり、カメラのシャッターを押してくれたり、とても親切でした。私は帰りに車を運転しなければならなかったので、アルコールは飲めませんでしたが、他の方はまさに「飲み放題！」
最高のひと時でした。

This was an amazing tour of he Napali Coast. The crew was phenomenal! They were so personable and knowledgeable. They were very attentive to our kids and kept everyone engaged and excited. The captain steered the boat with precision allowing us to get into small cave openings and over large waves.

Bring non-spray sunscreen and a hat that won’t blow off since it gets very windy. We took motion sickness pills prior to the trip which really helped.

The meeting at the Port Allen office was scheduled for 3:00 PM, but I parked a bit early at 2:30 PM in the parking lot behind the "Holo Holo Charters" sign in the back of the building. There were quite a few cars, so it was good that I arrived early to park.

Before the meeting, I checked in at the office. I signed the "consent form" on a touch panel and wandered around the nearby shops until the meeting time. The restroom is located behind the office.

When it was time, we gathered in the square in front of the office, and the captain called out names, to which we responded. After roll call, we headed to the port. Before boarding, we took off our shoes and placed them in a shoe bin to go barefoot. It was a good decision to wear flip-flops.

Those who boarded early went to the back of the boat. We didn't make it in time and ended up sitting at a table inside, but it turned out to be convenient during the meal. We could move around during the trip and enjoy the scenery.

As soon as we set off, we were served alcohol, soft drinks, crackers, and cheese. We moved quickly towards the Na Pali Coast. The view of the Na Pali Coast from the boat was breathtaking!

On the way back, we had dinner (tacos) and were also given cookies. (Some people put their cookies in a paper plate and Ziploc bag to take home.) Throughout the trip, drinks were available for free. There were also two restrooms, so it was comfortable to drink.

Although we didn't see any dolphins, we were lucky to spot whales a few times even though it was May. The sunset that day was truly wonderful, with no clouds to obstruct the view.

It became a great memory of Kauai. We returned to the port around 7:30 PM after about four hours on the water. Since the boat was constantly moving, I think those who are prone to seasickness should take medication.

The inside of the boat with a roof wasn't cold, but since it was moving, I recommend bringing a light windbreaker to enjoy the view. Some people might also need sunscreen.

We were the only Japanese people on board, and everything was in English, but the two crew members were very kind, and the service was excellent, making for a really enjoyable time.

点呼が終わったら、港へ。乗船する前に靴入れに靴を脱いで専用の裸足になります。
ビーチサンダルで行き正解でした。

私達は間に合わず、中のテーブルがある席に座りましたが、結果食事の際など便利。途中移動できるので、景色の十分楽しみます。
出発してすぐに、アルコールやソフトドリンク、クラッカーとチーズなどのサービス。
ナパリコーストまでどんどん移動します。
目の前に広がる船から見るナパリコースト❗️景圧巻の景色でした。
帰りに夕食(タコスでした)を食べながら、戻ります。クッキーも配られました。
(紙皿ジプロックにいれて、持って帰る人もいました)その間中、フリードリンクです。
トイレも2つあり、安心して飲めます。
イルカは見れませんでしたが、5月だったのにクジラを数回見る事が出来ラッキーでした。
サンセットもこの日は雲の邪魔なく、本当に素晴らしかったです。
カウアイ島での良い思い出になりました。
港に戻ったのは、19:30頃。4時間くらい乗ってます。ずっと走っているのて、揺れるので船酔いが心配な人は、薬を飲んだ方が良いと思います。
屋根のある船の中は寒くありませんが、走っているので景色を見る時に、薄手のウインドブレーカーは必ず持っていく事をオススメします。
日焼けも必要な方はいるかも。
日本人は私達だけで、全て英語でしたがクルーの方2名がとても親切で、サービスもよくとっても楽しい時間を過ごせました。
