I really wanted to go horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch. It's a shame there’s no shuttle service. It takes an hour and a half by bus from Ala Moana, and I was worried about not having enough buses to get back. I was disappointed that I spent time on things other than horseback riding. I would really like to request that you consider offering a plan with shuttle service.

The two-hour course was very satisfying! I heard there's also a one-hour course, but since it includes explanations and practice, I think the two-hour option is better.

It was an hour of horseback riding, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. There was a Japanese video with instructions, so there were no issues at all. The staff were very considerate towards us, even though our English wasn't great, and we had a great time. My backside got a bit sore, and since we couldn't gallop the horse, an hour was just enough.

I've been to Hawaii many times, and last year I participated in a horseback riding course in the North. This time, my daughter, who became hooked on horseback riding, insisted that we join a two-hour horseback riding course at Kualoa Ranch.

Unlike the North, here we were truly able to enjoy horseback riding while being gently rocked on the horse's back amidst breathtaking scenery and magnificent nature. It was an emotional experience to see the filming locations of Jurassic Park and the familiar landscapes from Lost on the vast grounds.

We were a team of six, and our guide, who is a fifth-generation Japanese American, was fluent in both Japanese and English. They frequently came back and forth from the front to the back where we were, taking care of us and chatting, so we had no worries or complaints and really enjoyed ourselves.

The two hours flew by. My son said it was the most fun he had during this trip. I highly recommend this tour! ☆

ハワイは何度も来ていて、去年はノースの乗馬コースに参加しました。そのときに乗馬にはまった娘にせがまれて、今回はクアロア牧場での乗馬2時間コースに参加しました。
ノースと違って、こちらは息を呑むほどの美しい風景と壮大な自然の中を、まさにゆったりのんびり馬の背に揺られて、本当に乗馬を堪能することができました。広大な敷地にある、ジュラシックパークの撮影現場、ロストでの見覚えのある地形など、感動ものでした。
また、6人で1チームでしたが、案内役の方が日系5世で日本語も英語も流暢な上、先頭から一番後ろの私たちまで何度も何度も行き来をしてお世話やお話をしてくれたので何一つ不安も不満もなく、本当に楽しめました。
あっという間の2時間でした。息子は今回の旅行の中で一番楽しかったと喜んでいました。このツアーはお勧めです☆

The wife and I enjoyed this tour immensely. We had always been doing the Waikiki stuff on vacation in Hawaii before now, but this time we decided to see what was on the Eastside of the island.

And by far, we both feel this is the prettiest spot on the whole island. It is quieter and really does have that "Old Hawaii" feel to it. The tour was excellent, the ranch is BEAUTIFUL, and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable in answering every question we had.

Our first date was to the movie Jurassic Park too, so that was a really neat added benefit, to visit the place some scenes were actually filmed there! Would highly recommend this tour!

We took the two hour tour around the amazingly beautiful valley. The tour was in a pleasant pace, yet spicet up with some mud and water. We saw scenes from different movies and shows, ex Godzilla and Lost. Worth doing to fully take in the beauty of the valley and experience the old scenes.

The explanation before horseback riding was just a simple Japanese video, so I was honestly quite anxious, but once I got on the horse, all my worries disappeared.

I understood that I needed to follow the horse in front of me, so when the horse in front stopped, I stopped too. When it moved, I moved. All the horses were very smart and didn’t stray off course at all. They are really clever!

This time, in addition to the four of us, there were two Westerners participating individually, making a total of six people plus one guide for the two-hour course.

The guide only knew simple Japanese necessary for horseback riding, like “kick with both feet” and “pull,” so all the explanations about the movie filming along the way were in English. I thought that maybe Japanese people tend to sign up for half-day courses, as there were not many participants in the two-hour course.

At the end, we passed by another group of about 20 people, who were mostly Japanese. They had a Japanese guide. If you want to hear explanations in Japanese, this course might be better for you.

The scenery was absolutely amazing, and the two hours flew by! Many movies, including "Lost," "Jurassic Park," and "Godzilla," were filmed here, and we also passed the filming location for the remake of "Journey to the Center of the Earth," which is scheduled for release in 2012.

It’s quite far from Waikiki to Kualoa Ranch, but if I have the chance, I would love to join the two-hour course again!

ガイドさんは「両足蹴って」とか「引っ張って」とか乗馬に必要な簡単な日本語しかわからない方だったので、途中の映画撮影についての説明などはすべて英語です。日本人はほとんどの方が半日コースなどに申し込まれるからか、日本人の2時間コースの参加は少ないのかなと思いました。

最後、ほかのグループとすれ違いましたが、20名ぐらい？の大人数でほぼ日本人のようでした。こちらは日本人ガイドさんがいらっしゃいました。説明を日本語で聞きたいのならこちらのコースがいいのかもしれません。

景色はとっても最高で、あっという間の2時間でした！
ロスト、ロストワールドやゴジラのほかにもたくさんの映画が撮影され、2012年に公開予定の「travel to the center of the earth」？のリメイク？撮影場所も通ります。

ワイキキからクアロア牧場までかなり遠いけど、機会があればまた2時間コースに参加したいです♪

This was by far the best activity that we booked on Oahu. The scenery was gorgeous and the horses were well behaved. The two guides were very knowledgeable about the ranch and you run into some interesting leftover movie/TV sets throughout the valley that make for some great pictures!

I always appreciate Alan1's service. This is my second visit to Kualoa Ranch. During my first visit, I participated in a package that included transportation and allowed me to choose four activities, but I felt that the one-hour horseback riding was not enough. So this time, I signed up for a two-hour horseback riding course. The two-hour option offers a different route and allows you to go further in with a buggy, so I was able to fully enjoy the experience. However, since there was no transportation provided, it was quite challenging to get there from Waikiki on my own. I took the bus from Ala Moana, which took quite a bit of time, and since there are not many buses, I ended up spending a lot of time on travel before and after. It felt wasteful. Especially on the way back, the bus did not pass by at the scheduled time, and I had to wait nearly an hour for the next bus after the previous one had just left. It was getting quite dark, and I became anxious about whether I would make it back to Waikiki safely. I wish there were an option to request transportation for those who do not rent a car, even if it is at a higher price. I would like to go horseback riding again if the opportunity arises, and I would be happy if a transportation-inclusive plan is available by then.

いつもalan1にお世話になっております。２度目のクアロア牧場です。１度目は４種目選択する送迎付きのものに参加しましたが、前回乗馬１時間が物足りなかったので今回乗馬だけ２時間コースを申し込みました。やはり２時間だとコースも違ってバギーで行く奥の方まで行けるので十分満喫できました。ただ、送迎がないのでワイキキから自力で行かなければならないのが大変でした。アラモアナからBUSに乗ってかなり時間を要したし、本数も少ないので前後の移動時間にかなり時間を割くことになったのがもったいなかったです。特に帰りがバス停を通過する時間が定刻でないのと、ちょうど前のBUSが行った後だったのか次のBUSを１時間弱待つことになり、辺りは真っ暗になってきて無事ワイキキまでたどり着けるのか気疲れしてしまいました。オプションでレンタカーで行かない人用に割高でも送迎を頼めるようになっているといいのにと思いました。また機会があれば乗馬に行きたいのでその頃には送迎付きプランも設定されていれば嬉しいです。

The first time that we did the ATVs, we did it for the one hour time; however, we soon discovered that was not long enough. The next time we came to Oahu, we did the two hour ride. Longer, and more fun! Will do it again next time we visit!

I participated in the 2-hour course. It was definitely nice to be able to see the filming locations of the movie while riding a horse, but after a while, my backside started to hurt, and it became tough from the middle of the ride. However, it was a satisfying activity.

As a side note, the stalls selling drinks and other items close when the activity ends, so if you want to buy something, I recommend taking care of that before the activity starts.

I loved this activity!!!! The ATV's were sooo cool!!! It took me a little to get a hold of it, so me and my bf went on a separate group. It was just the three of us, including my instructor Jacob. Jacob was great, very informative and he even let us do some cool turns. The views are to die for, specially the china-man's hat. We saw where 50 First Dates was filmed, and stood inside Godzilla's paw!!! This is nothing like driving a car, it is much cooler. This is definitely something I would do everywhere I go. Do the 2 hour ATV, gives you enough time, because once it's over you are going to wish there were 4 hour ATV's!!

I participated in a 2-hour horseback riding session. As I had read in previous reviews, the Japanese support here is not what you would expect in Waikiki. However, the stunning scenery and the refreshing experience of horseback riding without the mandatory helmets that you are often forced to wear in Japan is remarkable. The staff made a great effort to communicate, and I learned about the kukui nut tree, which is used for making leis, as we progressed through the ranch. Naturally, we encountered groups of cows along the way, which was fun. By the end of the 2 hours, my backside was in so much pain (I suffered from the pain for several days). Next time, when I go with friends, I plan to join the 2-hour course again.

I experienced horseback riding for the first time while learning to handle the reins. During the approximately two-hour ride, I was able to enjoy the magnificent scenery of Hawaii and visit movie filming locations, and the time flew by. The horse I rode didn't always listen to me and had some unexpected moments, like suddenly running off or stopping to eat, but it was a wonderful memory. Since you can't choose the horse, I think it's just luck of the day, but I believe all of them are good horses. The next day, I had muscle soreness and bruises.

My wife and I took the 2 hr ATV tour and were amazed at the sites seen and knowledge and kindness of our guides. We were not expecting to go so far back into the island and from that we got to see some of the most amazing views only available through the tour. Markus, one of our guides, explained to us where all the film spots were and even picked a few local fruits for us to snack on. The route takes you through mild terain including crossing a few shallow streams and on several amazing outlooks on the ridges. We both wore shorts and gym shoes and fit the occasion perfect. Also, you only need to wear an open face helmet and sunglasses for protection so it makes the ride a lot more comfortable. Also, if you are military, they give a GREAT discount so give them a call to make reservations.

I have participated in dolphin tours abroad twice in the past, but unfortunately, I never got to see any dolphins. This time, there was no sign of them for a while, and I started to feel anxious... But finally, I encountered about ten dolphins! I was able to swim with them (although it was quite tough since dolphins swim very fast...). I also got close enough to touch a sea turtle. It was a really fun experience.

I experienced the 2-hour course. The horses are very intelligent, so there is almost no safety concern even for beginners. I was able to enjoy the best moments while being gently rocked by the horse in the magnificent nature.

Since the 2-hour course does not include transportation, we took The Bus (Route 55). It's only $2.25 one way, which is a great deal! It takes about an hour and a half from Ala Moana Shopping Center to arrive right in front of the ranch. However, it seems that the Route 55 bus runs infrequently, so I recommend allowing extra time for your departure.

I thought two hours would be long for my first horseback riding experience, but I got used to the horse and was able to enjoy the scenery, making it just right for a relaxed time. The horse was more accustomed and smarter than I expected, so it walked properly without me needing to give too many instructions. The scenery was magnificent, and it's easy to understand why it has been used in many film shoots. Riding on a horse, rather than in a mechanical vehicle, is quiet and creates a sense of unity with nature, which feels very pleasant.

However, it's undeniable that the details of the scenery and location were hard to understand since the explanations were only in English. If it were just a matter of understanding English, that would be one thing, but since they didn't use a microphone, it was difficult to hear the voice itself. This could lead to feeling like the two hours were too long, just staring blankly at the scenery without really understanding anything. We still felt sufficiently relaxed, though.

We have been to Oahu a couple of times and wanted to do something different this time. We really enjoyed our ATV tour. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. The tour guide was friendly and informative. We recommend the 2 hour tour so you can go further back in the mountains. You don't have to have any ATV experience. We really recommend this tour.

The main event of this trip to Hawaii was horseback riding. Since we chose the 2-hour course, there were no other Japanese participants, which was perfect for us as we were trying to avoid Japanese people during our travels (even though I am very much Japanese myself). We also drove there with a rental car.

I felt completely at ease during the horseback riding, and above all, the scenery was absolutely stunning! As we rode through the valley, which is a filming location for Jurassic Park, it truly felt like a dream, and I was completely healed by nature. Since it seems that you can only visit this place on the 2-hour horseback riding course, I highly recommend it!

今回のハワイ旅行のメインイベントだった乗馬。
2時間コースにしたので、他の日本人は皆無で、旅行中日本人を避けている（自分はバリバリ日本人なんですけどね）私たちにはぴったり。現地へもレンタカーで行きました。
乗馬自体も全く不安なく、何よりも景色がすばらしすぎる！！ジュラシックパークのロケ地になっている渓谷を進んでいるときは、本当に夢のようで、大自然に完全に癒されました。
2時間コースでしか乗馬でここへは訪れないようなので、ぜひとも2時間コースをおすすめします☆

My son his friend and I took the 2 hour ATV tour with Jacob as our guide. It COULDN NOT HAVE BEEN GREATER! The scenery was absolutely incredible and the ride was like being on a roller coaster ride that you have control of. Don't get me wrong it wasn't scary, it was exciting. No I'm in my 50's and I had just as much fun as my son who is 21 and our friend who is 17. This activity just can't be beat!

At first, I thought two hours might be a long time, but once I actually tried horseback riding, it felt like no time at all. Perhaps because they are used to dealing with tourists, the staff was very accommodating, and the arrangements for watching the video about horseback riding were well organized. My family of four is quite experienced with horseback riding, but even complete beginners can enjoy it safely and comfortably. Additionally, during the ride, they provide explanations in both English and Japanese about the locations (scenery) and history, which adds to the experience. We also pass through filming locations from movies like Jurassic Park and Lost, which I think would be a delight for movie fans.
