This was a unique experience for me because I have never been on any sort of cruise ship before. Although the waves were a little choppy, overall I had a great time. The food is great (one star), service is good, and the atmosphere is satisfying. Just a little advice for all the couples out there who want a special "one-on-one" type of evening, spend the extra money to get a table for two. If not, you may end up sharing a table with another couple. I lucked out and the couple that was supposed to show, didn't. This is also a type of outing that is geared more towards tourists. So this may not be so entertaining for many of the locals. It also does get a little chilly, so bring some sort of jacket (for the men), or a jacket/shawl (for women). Overall, I enjoyed the quality and experience this activity had to offer. I would definitely do it again sometime.

Body Glove Whale Watching was Okay. The staff was nice, The snacks and beverages were nice. The boat was nice. My trip, though I booked it 3 months earlier, when I arrived at my hotel, it was changed. Sure, they comped the bar to have me switch, but the whales we did see were too far off to make the trip worth-while.

We spent our time with Brandon (the world's greatest and most informed tour guide) as he took us through the events leading up to and and including the attack on Pearl Harbor and ending at Punchbowl National Cemetery. If you do no other tour when you are on Oahu, this is the one to do. Brandon provided unique insight into the historical events leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor. Because of his enthusiasm, we have since started to do our own research into the whole history that is available and not just the bits and pieces that we have seen through movies. This is just a bit if the info that we have found.

We would definitely recommend this cruise. The food was delicious. We saw many whales and one of them even jumped out of the water. It was amazing. There is a lot of space on the ship to spread out and see the whales from many perspectives (I think it holds over 1000 people). And the crew kept us entertained with Hula lessons, lea making, and ukulele lessons. We have a toddler and there was plenty to keep her entertained and happy as well.

We participated as a family of five on New Year's Eve. We were blessed with clear weather, and it was a fun cruise. When the captain spotted a whale, there was an announcement, and while looking in that direction, we were able to see the whale's spout and back several times, and finally, we also saw its tail, which was great. The food was quite delicious as well. However, while the adults were fine, the children took motion sickness medication, but two out of three of them got seasick. In the latter part of the cruise, they served ginger juice, which helped a bit, but I think it would have been better if it had been offered a little earlier.

North shore was unbelievable, unlike anything I've ever experienced. On the second half of the tour, we rode paddle boards which was also a blast! It was quite an upper body workout and was inexpensive too. Justin was very knowledgeable about the history of HI and kept us entertained during the drive. It was a trip from January 19 to 26, 2009, for a couple aged 119. This was our fourth time in Hawaii, but it was our first time on the Big Island. I wanted to go to Kota Kinabalu, but this time we completely followed my wife's wishes to go via the Big Island to Oahu, which included her desire to participate in stargazing at Mauna Kea and whale watching off the coast of Honolulu. I wasn't particularly interested in stargazing, but I went along with my wife's plans this time. Since we were going from a tropical climate to the summit of Mauna Kea at 4,200 meters with sub-zero temperatures, we needed to prepare as if we were going on a winter trip to Hokkaido. However, seeing the sunset at the summit and then the starry sky after it got completely dark was truly amazing! It felt like someone had opened countless pinholes in the sky and was shining lights from outside. I saw the Milky Way clearly for the first time in my life. Using a large telescope for pinpoint observations and the staff's easy-to-understand explanations made me feel like a temporary astronomy expert. You really realize that Earth is part of the universe. While warm clothing is provided, some preparation on your part is also necessary, so I had more luggage than on previous trips to Hawaii, but it was definitely worth it. Next time, I plan to go around June to immerse myself in a different summer night sky.

There was quite a bit of wind since we arrived on the Big Island. On the day of the tour, there were strong winds as well. The weather was wonderful, with clear skies and we could see the full view of Mauna Loa, but we couldn't reach the summit due to the strong winds! While watching the sunset and feeling a bit envious of the snowy summit visible in front of us, I resolved to come back for the amazing sunset! The starry sky is the second best after the Himalayas. The reason it's second is because the car lights interrupted the view. But thanks to the car, it’s easy to come back, so maybe it’s the best after all! They provided us with warm clothing, which was more comprehensive than other tours. At the Onizuka Center, it was about 10°C, but it felt quite cold due to the wind, so having a hat, gloves, and scarf is essential for warmth. To enjoy the starry sky for a long time, warm clothing is a must!
Although we couldn't reach the summit, I was very satisfied! I was also a bit happy to receive a refund of 15 for not being able to go to the summit! I will definitely go again!

I didn't have high expectations for the food, but the warm drinks (self-service with free drinks) and the meals were warm and delicious. Besides seeing whales, there were activities like lei-making, ukulele classes, and hula lessons, so even if we didn't see any whales, we could still enjoy the cruising and activities. During our trip, it seemed like we encountered a mother and calf whale, and they were frequently surfacing for air. (Unfortunately, we didn't get a clear view of their heads or tails...) However, most of the explanations were in English, and sometimes the Japanese announcements were delayed or omitted. Still, the staff was cheerful and bright, shouting "Whale!" Overall, you can enjoy the cruising experience by itself.

when the sunset shines through, an indescribable moment begins.
Who would have imagined on the tropical island of Hawaii that we could see snow? (There were even people snowboarding.)
It wasn't a perfectly clear day, but that's why we were able to see the sea of clouds, together with you.
I think there's something here that makes me want to visit again and again. I want to encounter a different scenery.

This is my second time coming to the Big Island. Last September, I was completely captivated by Hawaii, and now I'm back just three months later. This time, I’m determined to challenge Mauna Kea, which I couldn't visit on a day trip before! So, I arranged it for the second day of my arrival on December 15.
Since we left at noon, I was glad to have a leisurely morning. I was worried because there were many clouds, but mountain weather can change quickly, so I prayed for good conditions at the summit as we set off.
Our guide, who spoke in Kansai dialect, instantly transported me back to Japan with his lively chatter. The road was bumpy, especially on Saddle Road, which you can't reach by rental car.
We took a couple of breaks along the way, and as the temperature gradually dropped, I layered my clothes to acclimate to the increasing altitude. At the Onizuka Center, the traditional Japanese bento was quite delicious, and the miso soup warmed me up nicely. I also got to see the silversword plant.
We climbed through the clouds we could see from the ground and finally arrived at the summit, where various observatories from different countries are located. I borrowed some warm clothing. The temperature that day was around 1 degree Celsius. There was no wind, so it felt relatively warm for this time of year. However, if you go in with a Hawaiian mindset, it’s still quite cold. Surprisingly, I managed better than I expected, but I didn’t know about the gloves and missed the chance to borrow them, so my hands were freezing!
Just before sunset, I was able to witness a beautiful sunset as the sea of clouds below gradually turned orange. After the sunset, it changed to a rosy hue, and as it got darker, we descended a bit to the stargazing point. The starry sky was pitch black, and the temperature felt even colder. Perhaps due to the high altitude, my footing felt a bit unsteady, and my thinking was slowing down. There were a few clouds, but from the spots where the clouds cleared, we were carefully shown the constellations. I couldn’t remember half of what I saw with the laser pointer and telescope, but I was moved by the Andromeda Galaxy. The clouds gradually cleared, and at one point, I even saw the Milky Way.
After that, we just headed back. As we got closer to the ground, it started to warm up, and by the time we reached Kailua-Kona, it was hot. I really felt how amazing the Big Island is. I conquered the highest elevation of 4,205 meters (and did it easily by van), and in Japan...

The show was very well done and we had fun doing the activities at the beginning. Only downside is they do all the activities at the same time (hula lesson, palm weaving, etc.) so you can only do one. Also, if you're expecting a flower lei be prepared to pay extra for it or bring your own. We got ours at Costco, they sell a 2 pack of fresh orchid leis for only $6.50.
