This time, I participated with my parents. The reason for joining was my mother, who had always wanted to try this kind of attraction, so we joined somewhat on a whim, but the three of us had a fantastic time together. None of us speak English, but the atmosphere and the Japanese guide we received at the beginning were more than enough.

The incredible speed of the ocean rafting, the breathtaking snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay, and the encounters with dolphins were all first-time experiences, and everyone in the family felt we wanted to participate again!

The weather was a mix of sunny and cloudy on the day, but my father and I, who didn’t apply sunscreen on our backs, ended up very red and it was quite a hassle. By the way, I did apply sunscreen everywhere else, but my face and arms also got sunburned. So, for those who are going to participate, I think it's best to use sunscreen thoroughly. (The captain and the male local staff reapplied it several times.)

今回、両親と参加しました。
参加のきっかけは母で、母がずっとこういうアトラクションをしたいとのことだったので、なんとなく参加しましたが、家族3人思いっきり楽しめました。
3人とも英語は話せませんが、何となくのふいんきと、最初にもらえる日本語で書かれた案内で十分でした。
オーシャンラフティングのものすごいスピードと、ケアラケクア湾での美しすぎるシュノーケル、そしてイルカとの遭遇、初めての体験ばかりで、また参加したい！が家族全員の感想です。

当日は晴れたり曇ったりでしたが、背中に日焼け止めを塗らなかった私と父は、真っ赤になり大変でした。
ちなみに、背中以外はしっかり塗りましたが、顔も腕も焼けていました。
なので、これから参加するかたはしっかりと日焼け止めを使ったほうがいいと思います。（船長と男性の現地スタッフは何度か塗り直していました。）

The two experiences were totally different. The sunset dinner cruise on the Holoholo catamaran was up close and personal. We recommend it highly.

Definitely do the Snuba! We was so many turtles at the second dive site. The first site was great for getting used to Snuba and seeing some interesting fish. One of the kids from the family on board with us saw a shark even!

There were so many turtles at the "cleaning stations" for the second dive site. They were popping up to breathe near the boat before we even got in the water! We got underwater cameras on the boat as well. The diver guiding us through the snuba snapped some closeup pictures of the turtles for us! Such a great experience!

The crew was fantastic. It was a smaller boat, so it wasn't like a cattle call getting on and off the boat. The captain even went out of his way on the way back so that we could see some whales! We got to see 6 whales total on the trip! Great experience! Great crews! I couldn't recommend this particular tour enough. Tremendous value for the money and a crew that was so much fun!

Is it only for Japanese people? All the participants were Japanese.
The staff was about half Japanese and half foreign. Everyone on the staff was very kind and energetic, which made it a lot of fun.

As for the weather on the day, it would definitely be more beautiful when it's sunny!

Is the sandbar's visibility above the water level just a matter of luck?
Unfortunately, when I went, it was not visible above the water and was submerged up to my knees.

I was desperately holding onto the boat's rope to avoid being thrown off during the ocean rafting, but it became fun once I got used to it.

This time, I didn't encounter any dolphins or whales as others have mentioned, but snorkeling in Kealakekua was amazing. The water was very clear and beautiful.

It was my first time snorkeling, so I was a bit confused at first, but by the end, I wanted to practice diving deeper.

After coming out of the water, it was really cold. A long-sleeved shirt was necessary.

Also, I thought I would get a tan and went without sunscreen, but the Hawaiian sun is intense, and I got quite burned and turned bright red. Even though I applied aloe after-sun gel frequently, three days later my arms were swollen and peeling all over, which was tough. Even if you want to tan, make sure to apply some light sunscreen.

I couldn't catch everything in fast English, but overall, it was a lot of fun.

あと、日焼けしたいと思い、日焼け止めを塗らずにいったのですが、ハワイの日差しは強烈で、かなり焼けて真っ赤になり、アロエのアフターケアジェルをこまめに塗っても３日後には腕が赤く腫れて、体中の皮がむけて大変でした。。。
日焼けしたくても、必ず、軽めのサンスクリーンは塗りましょう。

全て早い英語でよく聞き取れなかったですが、全体的にはとても楽しかったです。

First, it cost us about $90 one way by taxi from the Kohala area to this meeting point, so the lack of transportation was the biggest drawback.

We set off on a rubber boat! It took off at a high speed, so you have to hold on tight. It was really fast, and I thought, "No way..." but indeed! I think we took a long route, but the journey to Kealakekua itself felt like rafting. We were tossed around for quite a while, feeling the bumps from the waves and the speed, which was scary, so I held on to the boat tightly to the point that my hands hurt. On the way back, I got used to it and enjoyed it moderately.

Everything was in English, and all the other customers were Westerners.

When we arrived at Kealakekua, we were greeted with a beautiful view, just like in the pictures. We stopped the boat at a spot where we could see the Captain Cook monument, and after a snorkeling briefing, we entered the sea and started snorkeling. The types of fish varied by location, so it's good to move around a bit.

However, after getting back on the boat from the sea, it was quite cold due to the wind, so it's better to bring a windbreaker or hoodie. Everyone was shivering so much that they had goosebumps.

帰りはまたラフティングをしながら、各観光スポットを案内してくれました。
船長のガイドは英語ですが、チェックイン時に日本語でのガイドが書かれた紙をもらえます。（ただ、チェックインして他のお客さんが揃うのを待っている間しか読む時間がないので、早めのチェックインをお勧めします。）
我々は読む時間があまりなかったので、単語とスタッフのお兄さんの親切なジェスチャーで何となく理解できた、という感じでした。
スタッフの方は、私たち日本人にとても親切に、わかるように説明したり、色々と気遣ってくださいました。

あと、船を降りるとき、欧米人が皆チップを渡していました。
オプショナルツアーでチップを払う、というのが初めてだったので、ご存じない方のために記しておきますね。

ショッピングセンター内にある受付場所がちょっとわかりづらかったです。（カウンターだけがあるガラス張りのショップ）

After driving around the Big Island, I participated in this tour.

It was exciting to see the scenery and the overall landscape of the island that I couldn't see from the car.

In Hawaii, the clouds feel very low. The moment I entered the clouds, water droplets formed on the window, and the wind from the propeller made them slide down the window at an incredible speed, which was quite a surprise.

I could see the boundary between the grassy areas and the black regions where lava had solidified, observe plants growing only along the river in places without paths, suddenly encounter a volcano with glowing red lava inside, and get close to a magnificent waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. It was truly a tour that allowed me to experience the grandeur of Hawaii's nature.

I was hoping for a Japanese pilot, but unfortunately, it was conducted in English.

日本人パイロットもいるということでそれにかけていましたが、残念ながら英語対応。

もうちょっと英語がわかればもっとおもしろかったのに…。自分の英語力のなさを痛感しました。

もちろんパイロットさんは、とっても爽やかで素敵な方でしたいよ。

こちらで全貌をみてから島を車でまわると、いろいろなことに興味がもてていいかもしれません。

We participated in a group of seven, including families with elementary school children and couples. Therefore, we split into two groups: the family and our group of four, to enjoy snorkeling. It seemed a bit challenging for the elementary school kids, as they had an instructor dedicated to helping them. Our group swam a little further out, around the edge where the water was about 5 meters deep. It truly felt like we were swimming inside an aquarium. Although we were wearing life jackets and didn’t dive, just floating on the surface was plenty of fun. In the end, we encountered a turtle in the shallow waters and were able to swim alongside it. That was quite an emotional experience. We got so close that I thought I might accidentally bump into its shell due to the waves. After crossing the bay for about 30 minutes, we finished up. It was quite exhausting. Since it’s a three-hour tour, either in the morning or afternoon, I think it’s a convenient way to make good use of your day. I took photos using a regular digital camera placed in a waterproof pack, DiCAPacα. It’s affordable and I recommend it. Just be careful, as the edges might get in the shot. Of course, if seawater gets in, it will break, so please take responsibility for that.

午前か午後か、3時間ほどのツアーなので、お手軽で一日を有効利用出来るスケジュールだと思います。
撮った写真は、普通のデジカメを、防水のパックDiCAPacα に入れて撮りました。お手頃でお勧めです。ただ注意しないと、縁が写り込んでしまいます。
もちろん、海水が入ったら壊れますので、自己責任でお願いします。

I had to go to the sandbar on my first trip to Hawaii! Although I was alone, the staff were young and friendly, and the ocean was incredibly beautiful. Of course, I also got to see sea turtles. I participated the morning after arriving in Hawaii. The guide was fluent in Japanese and shared various recommended spots during the drive to Hanauma Bay. This was helpful for our stay.

There are plenty of fish even in the shallow waters, so I think even those who can't swim can enjoy it. My daughter (16 years old) was able to go quite deep with the help of our guide, Jim, during snorkeling.

This was my second time at Hanauma Bay. Last time, I went by bus and brought my own snorkeling gear, but this time I signed up for a guided tour with snorkeling, fins, and a life jacket because I was worried about my friend's swimming ability (the travel agency didn't have any guided options).

I participated in the most popular tour, the afternoon BBQ lunch tour, which is known for its delicious food. The weather was great, and the sea was beautiful! I realized I had forgotten my video camera on the shuttle bus. What a shock! I had bought a compact video camera to capture this sea... In the early morning, I joined the Diamond Head sunrise tour. I guess I was a bit relaxed, and while searching for a shop near the boat departure point, I found none.

When I asked the staff, they mentioned that waterproof cameras called "Utsurun desu" are sold on the boat... When I tried to buy one, I learned about a service that turns photos taken at the sand bar into a DVD. The sand bar is a famous spot for commercial filming. Hmm. The "Utsurun desu" camera costs $20, while the DVD shooting is $45... I thought about having a photo DVD made of me, my son, and my mother.

However, we had to pose properly... arms wide open, all three of us overlapping, and so on. Plus, I was bare-faced with messy hair... I thought the woman in a bikini taking our photos looked much more suited to the beautiful sea... but we went ahead with it. My son had a stiff expression the whole time. My mother looked great in the photos, and the photo spots were indeed well-chosen.

The finished photos turned out beautifully. However, having to pick them up at the office near DFS after 7 PM that day was a bit inconvenient. I wished there was a delivery service to the hotel.

After that, we went snorkeling. My son, who had been taking swimming lessons, of course participated. I also joined since I had gotten somewhat used to it at Hanauma Bay on the first day. However, the water was 20 meters deep. The distance was about 100 meters round trip, I think. It suddenly got deep from knee-deep water. しかし、ポーズをしっかりつけること・・・両手を広げて、三人重なって・・などなど。しかも、私はノーメイクで、髪はボサボサ・・・写真を撮ってくださるビキニの女性の方がよほど、この海の景色に似合いそうだ・・・などと思いつつ撮ってもらいました。息子は終始、かたい表情。母は、良い表情に撮れていましたし、写真を撮るスポットはさすがに、慣れているだけあって良かったです。

出来上がったものは、綺麗に撮れていました。
その日の１９時以降にＤＦＳの近くの事務所まで受け取りに行くのが、ちょっと。ホテルまで届けてくれるサービスなどあればと思いました。

その後はシュノーケリング。息子はスイミングを習っていたので、もちろん参加。私も初日のハナウマ湾で、やや慣れたので参加。けれど、水深２０メートル。距離は往復で１００メートル~だと思います。膝ほどの水深からいきなり、深くなります。
水深が２０メートルだと、途中でパニックになるかもしれないなどど参加をやめた女性もいましたが、私も２５メートルほどしか泳げません。小さな子供もお父さんと参加していたので、大丈夫です。ただし、透明度はそれほどではなく、魚もずっと下の方に少し見えるくらいでした。
海ガメは、サンド・バーに行く途上で何匹も船上から見えました。

The weather was perfect, ideal for snorkeling. Both the sky and the sea were shining blue. We arrived in Hawaii in the morning and participated in the afternoon. My 13-year-old son seemed to find it unusual to snorkel with fins. The instructor was attentive, and when I mentioned that I wasn't confident in my swimming, he held my hand and took me to the spot. Besides my son, there was only one family with a father and his elementary and middle school sons. We were able to see many fish up close, including quite large ones.

Along the way, we encountered a turtle, and everyone swam after it, much to the children's delight. Those who went snorkeling freely mentioned that they couldn't see the turtle. It was a great decision to join a tour with an instructor who knows Hanauma Bay well.

At first, I stepped on some coral and scraped my foot, which was a bit painful. It would have been nice if the participants had been warned to watch their footing, but that can't be helped. It was before I put on my fins. Please be careful, everyone.

However, I had a great time and would like to participate again. It would have been better to have about 30 minutes of free swimming time after snorkeling. In terms of seeing fish up close, I highly recommend this experience. I was able to see a greater variety of fish compared to the Sea Walk I participated in previously in Guam.

This was BY FAR the best tour we took - even better than the helicopter tour of the volcano!

We enjoyed the smaller boat - only 12 people on our tour (from teens to seniors) plus Captain Steve and the Drew crew. Other boats seemed to have hundreds on board, although they may have had better facilities. Kayaks can damage the coral, and they aren't as mobile as the boat - no whale searching or cave exploring.

First, Hawaii Activities actually called us to check that we were going to be there on time and asked if we had any questions. Then, we checked in, signed waivers, and were assigned to our boat. It was all very organized and ran very smoothly.

Steve and Drew were very knowledgeable and patient with first timers. They served a wonderful snack (fresh pineapple and other fruits, chips, cookies, etc), and the snorkeling (two spots) was wonderful. They even had a book to help us identify what we had seen.

This was an excellent trip!

The pre-flight activities were well organized, and the staff was very courteous.

The actual flight was incredible, and the pilot was very knowledgeable. It was wonderful to be able to ask questions while in flight.

The weather was the only drawback. We couldn't see the crater due to rain/fog/wind. It was still an incredible trip, but it would have been even better to see the crater.

I would recommend this trip to anyone, although considering the cost, children probably wouldn't enjoy as much as adults. Seating is arranged by weight to balance the ride, so young children could be separated from Mom - might be an issue for some.

Overall, a wonderful tour conducted by a wonderful company.

On March 21, 2011, I participated in this tour with my parents and my son (8 years old). It was cloudy in Waikiki, and there was a bit of rain on the mountain roads, so I was worried about the weather. However, when we arrived at the location, it wasn't perfectly sunny, but the weather was decent with some sunshine. Even in late March, the water temperature was still low. During this tour, we snorkeled twice at different points, but during the first snorkeling session, my son and the other children turned blue in the lips and were shivering. The adults, including myself, didn't feel as cold, but if children are going snorkeling at this time of year, a rash guard might not be warm enough. The snorkeling left a stronger impression than walking on the sandbar. Most of the staff were Japanese, so they kindly explained how to wear and use the snorkeling gear in Japanese, which made me feel at ease. During the first snorkeling session, we encountered a sea turtle. The colorful tropical fish and the sea turtle were truly moving. We boarded the cruiser, which took us to the snorkeling points, and even though the meals on board were light snacks, they were quite delicious. For the second snorkeling session, I was told that the current was a bit stronger than at the first point, but even as a beginner, I was able to snorkel without being swept away. This point had clearer water and a more beautiful sea. We didn't see any sea turtles here, but afterward, we returned to the boat for turtle watching. We discovered many sea turtles, and my parents, who didn't snorkel, also enjoyed it. All the staff were kind, and I would definitely recommend this tour.

２０１１年３月２１日にこのツアーに私の両親と私と息子（８歳）で参加しました。ワイキキでは曇りで途中山道でも雨がちらつき、天候が心配でしたが、現地に到着するとピーカンではありませんでしたが、日差しもぼちぼちの天候となりました。3月下旬でもやはり水温は低く、このツアーではポイントを変えて２回シュノーケルしたのですが、１度目のシュノーケルで、息子も含め他の子供達も唇が真っ青でぶるぶる震えるような感じになりました。私や他の大人の方々は、それほど寒さを感じませんでしたが、この時期のシュノーケルは、お子さんが行かれるのであれば、ラッシュガードでは寒いかもしれません。サンドバーのウォーキングよりは、シュノーケルが印象に残りました。スタッフは日本の方がほとんどでしたので、日本語で丁寧にシュノーケルの装着や使い方について説明してくださり、安心してシュノーケルができました。1度目のシュノーケル時にウミガメに遭遇しました。色とりどりの熱帯魚とウミガメ、それはもう感動的でした。クルーザーに乗り込み、ポイントまで連れていっていただいたのですが、船内での食事も軽食とはいえ、なかなかおいしかったです。２度目のシュノーケルは、最初のポイントよりやや潮の流れがあるとのことでしたが、初心者の私でも流されることなく安心してシュノーケルできました。こちらのポイントの方が透明度が高く美しい海でした。ここではウミガメには会えませんでしたが、その後船に戻りウミガメウォッチングをしました。
たくさんのウミガメを発見して、こちらはシュノーケルはしなかった私の両親も楽しんでいました。
スタッフのみなさんもどなたも親切ですし、是非お勧めしたいツアーです。

Our adventure on the seaquest was both unique and educational , not to mention awesome ! darren and joe were informative and profesional , fun was the order of the day and spectactular sights and sea life was seen . Whales with calfs breaching , dolphins , more fish than you can count ! thats just in the water . they told about the history and culture . educational facts about the marine life . I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS FOR ANYONE ! Its well worth the money for the experience !

This was my first time snorkeling, and I encountered two sea turtles. Following the guide's instructions, I was able to find them quickly. I had never met a sea turtle while diving, so encountering them was an emotional experience. The guide spoke fluent Japanese and had a friendly personality, which was great. It's the perfect way to experience the fun of snorkeling.

I participated in the summer of 10 years ago. It was really early in the morning, but I was moved by the sunrise at the sandbar and enjoyed the sandbar walk. On top of that, I went snorkeling in a place with sea turtles and tropical fish. It was a tour filled with the best of Hawaii. Above all, the hospitality of the staff was outstanding.

After taking the bus to switch to the boat, we headed to the point where we could see sea turtles. After seeing the sea turtles, we were on the boat for about another 5 minutes to the sandbar. Unfortunately, due to the tide, we ended up walking in knee-deep water. It was said that if the tide was just right, we could walk on the sandbank. Well, I didn't mind being in knee-deep water, but many people were disappointed.

After that, we changed locations for snorkeling. This was amazing! You can encounter all sorts of fish! Since the snorkeling was in a coral reef at a depth where you can't touch the bottom, it might be a bit challenging for beginners...

After that, we had a hearty lunch. This was also excellent.

Overall, it was a packed tour.

Don't forget to bring tissue paper to the restroom at the dock where the boat returns.

足のつかない深さのさんご礁のｼｭﾉｰｹﾘﾝｸﾞなので、ｼｭﾉｰｹﾘﾝｸﾞ初心者はちょっとハードかも・・・

それが終わるとボリュームたっぷりのランチ。
これも申し分なかったです。

とにかく盛りだくさんのツアーでした。

船が戻った桟橋のトイレにはティッシュをお忘れなく。
