After a comfortable drive of just over an hour from Waikiki towards the North, I spotted the GUNSTOCK sign and felt a rush of excitement. The expansive ranch, along with the goats and horses, was truly soothing and impressive.

While horseback riding, I leisurely enjoyed the scenery, and at the top of the hill, a breathtaking view unfolded, making me feel refreshed. Riding while holding the reins myself really allowed me to fully embrace the cowboy experience.

今年の11月に子供が生まれるので、今度は３人で参加したいと思います。

It's been four years since my last trip to Hawaii, and this was my first time on the Big Island! I only knew about "Kilauea," so I spent months reading guidebooks and websites to plan my trip. My style is to create the best original plan and explore efficiently and freely by rental car. However, I was worried about the unpaved roads to "Mauna Kea," so I looked for a tour.

I found the "Mauna Kea Summit Sunset & Stargazing Tour <Reflecting Telescope> by Masashi Nature School." I was attracted by the very reasonable pricing, the Japanese-speaking tour, and the high ratings in reviews.

Our guide, Mr. Yamamoto, was kind and fun. He had a wealth of knowledge, and I found the stories about constellations, which I usually don't pay much attention to, very interesting. The interactions with my junior, Mr. Konno, were also entertaining. It's no surprise that there were several repeat customers.

The "Japanese bento made by Americans" we had at the Onizuka Center (as mentioned by Yamamoto) was also very delicious! I was happy that the "miso soup" made by other tour participants was homemade instead of instant.

The big jump over a 4,000-meter mountain felt like I accomplished something truly amazing, and it became a memorable experience.

Speaking of memories, I have a special one! The day before, I went to Kilauea by rental car and enjoyed the night view of the crater from the Jaggar Museum overlook. While I was there, an unfamiliar foreigner approached me and handed me an iPhone. They were confused about what to do with a found iPhone that was made in Japan. When I called the top contact, it turned out to be "Masashi Nature School Office"! Huh? I've heard that name before…!!! It's the tour I was scheduled to join the next day! What a coincidence! The following day, I was able to return it safely in exchange for a lovely souvenir.

　オニヅカセンターでいただいた「アメリカ人が作ったジャパニーズ弁当」（山本：話）もとてもおいしかった！　ほかのツアーの方たちがインスタントで作っている「お味噌汁」が手作りだったのも嬉しかったです。
　４０００メートル級の山を飛び越える大ジャンプ！も、なんだか本当にすごいことをやってのけた感じがして、思い出になりました。
　思い出といえば、私には特別な思い出も！　前日、レンタカーでキラウエアに行き、ジャガー博物館展望台で火口の夜景を楽しんでいたところ…。見知らぬ外国人に声をかけられ、iphoneを渡されました。拾ったiphoneが日本製でどうしたらよいか、困っているとのこと。連絡先の一番上にかけてみると、そこは「マサシのネイチャースクール　事務所」！　ん？　聞いたことがあるぞ…？　！！！明日参加予定のツアーだ！　なんという偶然！　翌日、素敵なお土産と引き換えに？無事お返しすることができました。

It was absolutely amazing!
I had breakfast at 6:00 and was picked up at the hotel at 6:45.
In the hotel lobby, the driver, Mr. Takahashi, taught me how to fill out the participation form.
You can take your time to fill out the documents on the bus, of course in Japanese.
We picked up participants from three or four hotels and arrived in about an hour.
The training consists of watching a video, explained in Japanese.
The content is simple: ① The position when jumping from the plane (arched back with arms crossed) ② Spread your arms at the instructor's signal (they will tap your shoulders twice) ③ Never touch the instructor ④ Leave the landing to the instructor (extend your legs forward).

Online-no luck...but when I called the 800 number, Reid Oshiro w Veltra helped with concierge service. Booked my party of 10, emailed and phoned me to confirm, etc. Reid, you were our hero of our week on Hawaii! Before or after your HB trip have lunch at the local pizza place in Waipio and shop the couple of nick-nack shops. Ten mins from trails. Really great food! Nice day!

I really wanted my whole family to participate, but due to the age restrictions for children, I went as a representative (laughs). The sunset and the gradient of the sky were amazing, resembling a scene from the moon. Additionally, the starry sky, where even satellites were clearly visible, was unique to Mauna Kea. The guide's talk was also brilliant. Personally, I was surprised that I could capture such a beautiful starry sky with my mirrorless camera. I even learned how to use the camera from the guide, and it was a very satisfying tour. I want to go again!

This was a great tour because it covered three (3) sports in one (1) tour. Our tour guide Jamie was very good in all respects. I would just say be prepared to get a workout. For those that don't exercise, you might want to consider something else. You don't have to be a marathon runner, but if you are a couch potato this might be a stretch for you.

Four years ago, I went skydiving with this company in Hawaii. I couldn't forget the excitement from that time, so I decided to sign up again. Just like last time, the waiver included scary statements like "we are not responsible for accidents" and "general travel insurance does not cover this," but I understood well that it is a dangerous activity, yet a valuable experience, so I went ahead with the skydiving.

First, a video explanation is shown, detailing the methods and points to note. The instructors who jump with you also provide explanations. However, many of them seem to speak only very simple Japanese. (But since you watch the video, you will definitely understand.) There are many friendly and cheerful people.

You can have photos and videos taken, but since one cameraman jumps with you, the cost is nearly double. When you're on the plane, you can see the beautiful ocean and rise through the clouds, making the view inside the plane quite moving.

Then, under the instructor's guidance, you jump from the plane. Some people felt the wind pressure and said they couldn't breathe, but I was able to breathe normally. It felt less like falling and more like being a bird flying.

When the parachute opens, the drop speed suddenly decreases, which is surprising, but from there, you can enjoy the scenery slowly. The instructor made several turns so we could see various views. とても気さくな明るい人が多いです。
写真や映像も撮影してもらえますが、カメラマン１人がとぶので２倍近い料金がかかります。
飛行機に乗ってる時点できれいな海が見えたり、雲をつきぬけて上昇するので飛行機内での景色も感動モノです。
あとはインストラクターさんの指示のもと飛行機から飛びます。風圧を感じて「息ができなくなる」という人もいましたが、あたしはけっこうフツーに息してました。
落ちてるというより、鳥になって飛んでるような気分。
それからパラシュートが開くと急に落下速度が落ちるのでびっくりしますが、そこからはゆっくり景色を楽しむことができました。インストラクターさんはいろんな景色が見れるように何度も旋回してくれました。
５分少々で地上に降りてきます。が、地面がすぐ真下に見えても着地はけっこう衝撃があります。なので服装はＧパンや長ズボンの方がいいと思います。前回はフツーに立てましたが、今回は風が強かったせいもありコケてお尻で着地（笑）
でもとっても楽しくて、いい経験をさせていただいたなと思いました。

This is because out of 10 participants that night, only 5 caught fish. However, when someone is fighting a fish, you must quickly reel in your line to avoid tangling. In other words, you will be watching others fish. The fight time is about 15 minutes per catch, so if 5 fish were caught, you would be watching for over an hour. For those who absolutely want to catch fish, a charter is recommended.

My first experience with skydiving. I boarded a Cessna and ascended into the vast sky. We went up so high that I wondered if we were still climbing. Our guide Ed was very informative throughout the tour. I would recommend taking a tour rather than driving it, the bus drivers know the roads well so you feel safe. Other people have mentioned it was a bumpy ride but i didnt think so. There is nothing much in Hana itself, its more the journey getting there, great scenery...

We participated as a family with our children (ages 8, 10, and 12). After a brief explanation, we immediately started trekking on horseback, one by one.

We went down steep slopes and galloped up, just moving forward continuously.

The horses were very calm and experienced, so it was probably fine, but I must admit I was a bit anxious at first. However, the children seemed to enjoy themselves wholeheartedly without any fear. By the end of the one-hour trek, I was completely relaxed and able to enjoy it as well.

The guides were all cheerful and friendly, which made it fun. They even spoke a little Japanese.

Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience with the stunning backdrop of the ocean in Maui!!!

Initially, we considered driving there ourselves, but choosing this tour was definitely the right decision!

The hiking trail was longer than we imagined, so driving would have been tough, but more importantly, the owner of Maui All Stars, Mr. Yamauchi, was fantastic.

I was torn between sunrise and sunset, but considering the clarity of the air, he strongly recommended sunset! We were able to enjoy the starry sky at a leisurely pace.

Mr. Yamauchi is very knowledgeable about the stars and provided various telescopes, big and small. He shared interesting and engaging stories that entertained both kids and adults.

The heartfelt services, such as the background music during stargazing, chairs, bento boxes, and warm tea, left us truly impressed.

He was also skilled with digital cameras and made thoughtful arrangements for our photos. We got some amazing shots at the summit!

In any case, if you're going to Haleakalā, I highly recommend participating in this tour.

If I ever go to Maui again, I would love to do it once more.

登山道は想像以上に長い道のりだったので、運転はつらかっただろうという理由もありますが、それ以上に、マウイオールスターズのオーナーのヤマウチさんは素晴らしかったからです。

デジカメの扱いにも精通していて、いろいろ配慮して撮影してくれました。

とにかく、ハレアカラに行くなら、ぜひ参加してほしいです。

I had wanted to participate in this tour since I saw a scene in a TV program introducing Kauai Island where people floated down an old irrigation canal in tubes. The tour is conducted entirely in English, so I think it would be tough if you don't understand English to some extent (we were the only Japanese couple).

Here’s the flow of the tour:

1) We gathered 30 minutes before the tour start time. There is no pick-up service. We moved by rental car, but it was surprisingly far from the Poipu area where our hotel was, and we ended up being about 10 minutes late.

2) Upon gathering at the office, we were first given a waiver. It was double-sided and entirely in English; the front stated something like "Participation is at your own risk," and the back had several confirmation items such as "It's okay to be in the water for 45 minutes" and "It's okay to be in a dark place for 15 minutes."

3) After completing the waiver, we weighed ourselves to determine the size of the tube.

4) After that, we received helmets and gloves.

This concludes the procedures at the office. After this, we took a van to the point. There were about 20 participants during our time, and we split into two vans. Inside the van, they explained the history of Kauai Island and the sugarcane fields, and we introduced ourselves. Also, we made a photo stop at a scenic spot, so I think the travel time in the van was about 30 minutes.

Upon arrival at the point, we listened to some simple instructions, and then we floated down the irrigation canal in tubes for about 45 minutes. There were instructors present, and we just let ourselves be carried by the flow of the water.

After the tour ended, we got back in the van and moved to a lunch spot. Lunch consisted of pita sandwiches, chips, cookies, and water. After finishing lunch, we returned to the office by van and then dispersed.

When participating, the water is quite cold, so I think it’s better to wear a T-shirt or something on top. Also, it goes without saying, but there are no restrooms while floating in the tube, so please make sure to use the facilities at the office before moving (my backside got quite cold). ３）誓約書が書き終わったら体重を量ります。チューブのサイズを決めるようです。

４)その後、ヘルメットと手袋を受け取ります。

ここまでが事務所での手続きです。この後バンに乗ってポイントに移動します。私たちの時は参加者は20名ほどで、2台のバンに分かれて行きました。車内ではカウアイ島やサトウキビ畑の歴史を説明してくれたり、自己紹介を行ったりしました。また、途中、景色の良い所で写真ストップをしますので、バンでの移動時間は30分ほどだったと思います。

ポイントに到着したら、簡単な注意事項を聞き、その後約45分かけてチューブで浮かびながら用水路を流れていきます。インストラクターの方もいますし、水の流れに身を任せるだけです。

ツアーが終了したら再びバンに乗り、今度はランチスポットに移動をします。ランチはピタパンサンド、ポテチ、クッキー、水など。ランチを食べ終わったら、バンで事務所まで戻り、そのまま解散となります。

参加をされる際、水は冷ためですので、上にＴシャツなどを着ていた方がいいと思います。また、当たり前ですが、チューブで浮かんでいる間はトイレがありませんので、移動前に必ず事務所で済ませて下さい（お尻はだいぶ冷えました）。ランチスポットには簡易トイレが設置されています。

自然も満喫出来ますし、カウアイ島に行かれた際はぜひみなさんもチャレンジしてみて下さいね！

It was advertised as a BBQ lunch included, but even though the morning group started their lunch, I was never called over and ended up just watching with my fingers crossed...

My shyness and lack of confidence in English held me back, and in the end, I ended up riding without lunch.

Fortunately, the horseback riding experience was very satisfying.

I hope that in the future, there won't be any more situations like this for Japanese people.

This was my third horseback riding experience in Hawaii. The afternoon reservations were fully booked, so I joined the morning tour. It took exactly two hours to get there from South Kona. I think it would take about an hour from the Waikoloa resort area as well.

We took a van from the meeting point down to the stables. I happened to sit near the sliding door, and since it was open while we were driving, I was able to see the beautiful coastline and waterfalls.

The horse I rode kept stopping multiple times, which made me a bit anxious at the back, but I think even beginners would have no problem riding. I didn't experience any pain in my backside, but towards the end, my knees started to hurt a little, which was tough.

We were able to take photos with the valley in the background. It was my first time entering the river, and I was excited. Perhaps because the water level was high that day, my shoes and even the cuffs of my pants got wet.

They provided a bag to hook onto the saddle for small items like water bottles. I brought my camera and valuables hanging around my neck. 途中で渓谷をバックに写真を撮ってもらえます。川の中に入るのは初めての体験だったのでワクワクしました。この日は水量が多かったのか、靴はもちろんズボンの裾まで濡れました。
ペットボトルなどの小物は鞍にひっかけるバッグを貸してもらえます。私はカメラと貴重品を首から下げて行きました。
英語の説明はほとんど聞き取れなかったので、前もって歴史を勉強して行くと神聖な場所としてもっと感慨深いものになったかもしれません。

I had never been on a guided horseback ride at a ranch before, so I was a bit worried, but I was completely satisfied. My husband and I participated together, along with five other foreign guests. There were explanations provided in Japanese. I was surprised by the sudden horseback riding, but just as others had shared in their experiences, the horses were well-trained and made for a pleasant ride. Two and a half hours flew by in no time. The vast ranch, the shining sea seen from the mountains—truly, we had a wonderful time. Other ranches might not offer such an experience. The weather changed rapidly, with clouds, sunshine, light rain, and fog, but it felt like we were one with nature, which made it enjoyable. I would love to ride again.

牧場での観光引き馬にした乗ったことがなかったので心配でしたが、もう大満足。夫と二人で参加しました。他には５人の外国人の方。説明は、日本語で書かれたものが用意されていました。いきなりの乗馬。驚きましたが、他の方の体験談を読んだ通りで、馬はよく調教されており、気持ちよく乗せてくれました。２時間半なんてあっという間。広大な牧場、山からみた輝く海、本当にすばらしい時間を過ごすことができました。ほかの牧場ではこんなふうにはいかないかもしれません。曇ったり照ったり小雨が降ったり霧が出たりとめまぐるしく変わる天候も、自然と一体化したようで楽しめました。また乗せてもらいたいと思います。
