I was a bit worried about participating alone, but the people I joined talked to me, and I had an amazing time without feeling lonely at all! I had previously experienced skydiving in New Zealand, so this was my second time, but skydiving in Hawaii was even better. The scenery was incredibly beautiful, and the instructor was kind. However, the instructor assigned to me couldn't speak Japanese... (laughs) I definitely want to participate again when I come back to Hawaii!

The driver who guided us was very kind and taught us various things about Hawaii.

Horseback riding is enjoyable even for beginners, and it seems they choose riders based on the horse's personality! We just walked in a line at a slow pace, but riding along the beach and through the forest is soothing and relaxing. It seems that they don't cancel even with a little rain!

The guide, Herald, was friendly and kept the group energized during the long drive. He shared a lot of local information about Hawaii. If you understand English, I think it's easier to participate than in a Japanese tour.

Although the weather in Kona was nice on the day of the tour, it rained as we got closer to Mauna Kea, and I was worried about the weather at the summit. However, when we arrived at the top, it was above the clouds, so there was no need to worry.

The summit of Mauna Kea was really cold. Even with a light down jacket and four layers underneath, plus a large down jacket they provided, I still felt cold. Despite the warnings about needing a jacket and long pants, some people didn't prepare, and it seemed quite cold, so they ended up spending most of the time on the bus, which was disappointing to see. (So, warm clothing is essential.)

There were parts where we joined other group tours, which made it hard to hear the explanations, and there were often car lights and white lights that are strictly prohibited for stargazing. However, I was able to see shooting stars multiple times, which was moving! I highly recommend it.

あれだけ注意事項に上着必須、長ズボンと書いてあっても用意していない人もいて、かなり寒かったらしくバスの中でほとんどを過ごすこととなり、見ていて残念でした。(そのため、防寒具必須です)
ほかの団体ツアーと一緒になる部分もあり、説明が聞き取れなかったり、星を見るには厳禁の車のライトやホワイトライトが行き交うことも多かったですが、流れ星を何度も見ることができ、感動的でした！お勧めです。

The weather was perfect, and I flew under a clear blue sky. As I boarded the Cessna and ascended to 4,200 meters, I was filled with excitement and nervousness. Everyone has thought about trying it someday... Last year, I climbed a mountain just over 4,000 meters high. So, I thought, why not try jumping from that height next? I was forced to go skydiving by my husband, but it was absolutely amazing! ^_^
Before jumping, I was scared and frozen, but once I jumped, it felt incredible to be flying in the sky!
Until the parachute opened, I was struggling to breathe and felt overwhelmed, but the moment the parachute opened, I was able to see the scenery clearly and was moved!
A female instructor jumped with me, so I wasn't spun around and she let me hold the control lines, allowing me to steer right and left. ^ ^
I couldn't speak English well, so I wasn't able to express my thanks or have a good conversation, but I had so much fun!
I want to experience that view and thrill again!

Many people probably want to try it at least once, right? I was one of them, but I didn't have the opportunity until now, and I finally got to experience it.

After a little over an hour from Waikiki, we arrived at a small airport. After confirming our identities, we received a brief lecture and met our instructor.

Since it was Golden Week, there were many Japanese people there. My instructor could speak a little Japanese, and I had a lot of fun flying. The only time I felt scared was when the airplane door opened in mid-air; after that, I just went with the flow.

When it was my turn to jump, I felt a moment of "Oh no!" but then I enjoyed the pressure of the wind and the view like never before.

Some instructors seem to spin around after the parachute opens, and my cousin, who jumped with me, felt a bit groggy after landing.

If you can speak English, I think it's better to say in advance, "Please don't spin."

As for clothing, I recommend wearing a long-sleeve shirt since it can be a bit cold up there. Since the wind pressure is strong, it's best to avoid anything that flaps around, like hoodie strings.

There was a food truck available, but we brought rice balls with us. Since the time spent is long, I think it's a good idea to bring some drinks and snacks.

Photo and video services are expensive, but it might be worth signing up since it's a special occasion. They seemed to take pictures together if you were in a group of two or three. I prepared for the cold by bringing a hoodie, a rash guard, and slacks, as it was mentioned in advance to dress in layers. I thought it would be just right to receive warm clothing at the 2,800-meter "Onizuka Visitor Center." However, when I reached the summit, it was quite windy and very cold! I borrowed gloves, but it was still chilly. I seriously wished I had a sweater. The view from the top was fantastic, possibly because the air was so clear. The sunset was beautiful. I fully understood that the weather could affect our plans, but the island tour, including Kilauea, that I had booked the day before was canceled due to the eruption. I prayed to at least see Mauna Kea, and my prayers were answered.

Without suffering from altitude sickness, I witnessed a beautiful sunset at the summit of Mauna Kea. For some reason, I found myself in tears. Then, at a parking lot a little lower down, we enjoyed a starry sky. It was a luxurious time lying down together just to gaze at the stars. Kon-chan's explanations were easy to understand.

It was a perfect night with a sky full of stars, with no moon in sight. It was an experience I will never forget.

Until the parachute opened, I was struggling to breathe, and the instructor encouraged me to pose, but I ended up with a pretty miserable face and pose. (laughs) After the parachute opened, I was able to leisurely take in the view of the Hawaiian sea, and it felt amazing! The instructor was very enthusiastic, which made it enjoyable!

金額もある程度したので、そこは細かく知りたかったです。
また、待ち時間が長かったので、ちょっと残念でしたが、総合的にはかなりいい思い出になりました。

The tour was very interesting and Arthur our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the region. He answered all of our questions about the local environment as well as the history of the Hawaiian people.

It was cold at the summit and a sweatshirt should be worn if you cannot handle the cold even with the atlantic parka and gloves that is supplied.

The stargazing spot was incredibly clear and we could see hundreds of stars. We were also able to spot Venus, Jupiter, and several star systems through the telescopes provided.
