In February, it can be cold if you go in short sleeves, so I think it's better to prepare a light jacket. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes. There are lockers where you can use a credit card, so you can store your things there. I was quite hesitant because it was expensive, but it became the best memory of this trip to Hawaii.

This was the most enjoyable experience of my trip to Hawaii!

I actually got to drive a buggy and go off-roading, and it was a moment where I thought, "I'm so glad I have my license." The off-road course was quite authentic and something you can't easily experience in Japan, and the scenery was amazing. I was thrilled the entire time as we drove past movie filming locations and more.

The instructor's explanations were mostly in English, but he had a very Hawaiian vibe and a sense of humor, making the lecture enjoyable, so I had no worries at all.

Since we had an early departure at 6 AM and I was picked up from the hotel, I had eaten breakfast beforehand. However, the shuttle bus made a stop in front of another hotel and suddenly announced, "Feel free to go grab breakfast!" It was a relaxed, Hawaiian-style break that I found amusing. I did feel a bit anxious about being left behind even though they took attendance, so I chose to stay on the bus and wait.

We had a two-hour course this time, but it flew by, and I thought, "Maybe I should have gone for the three-hour option," because it was so much fun.

In any case, I believe this is an experience you can only have in Hawaii, so I highly recommend this activity to anyone who is considering it!

実際に自分でバギーを運転してオフロードを走るのですが、「免許を取っていてよかった」と思える瞬間でした。日本ではなかなか体験できないような本格的なオフロードコースで、景色も最高。映画のロケ地なども見ながら走れるので、終始テンションが上がりました。

インストラクターの説明はほとんど英語でしたが、とてもハワイアンな雰囲気でユーモアもあり、楽しくレクチャーしてくれるので全く不安はありませんでした。

朝6時にホテルへ迎えに来てもらう早朝出発だったので事前に朝食を食べておいたのですが、送迎バスが途中で別のホテル前に停まり「ブレックファースト行ってきていいよー」と急に休憩タイムが入ったのも、なんだかハワイらしいゆるい感じで面白かったです。
ただ、点呼はしていたものの置いて行かれたら怖いなと思い、私はバスから降りずに待っていました。

今回は2時間コースでしたが、あっという間で「3時間にしておけばよかったかも」と少し思うくらい楽しかったです。

とにかく、ハワイでしかできない体験だと思うので、迷っている人にはぜひおすすめしたいアクティビティです！

Riding horses in the breathtaking nature was truly enjoyable. If you want to fully appreciate the great outdoors, I believe horseback riding is better than taking a buggy. It's completely fine even for beginners. Basically, all the horses are calm and well-behaved. Occasionally, there were some that didn't have a muzzle and would nibble on the grass along the way...

However, the saddles on all the horses tended to shift. The initial setup wasn't very good, which put a lot of strain on my knees, and after getting off the horse, it was tough to walk for a while. But since I love horses, I was able to ride a lot and had a great time.

At Kualoa Ranch, there are staff members at the main reception and guides who can speak Japanese, which is very kind and reassuring.

圧巻の大自然のなかでの乗馬は本当に楽しかったです。大自然をゆっくり堪能するなら、バギーより乗馬だと思います。初めてでも全然問題ないです。基本的に馬はみんな大人しくてお利口さんばかり。たまに口輪をしていない子は、道草を食ってしまっていましたが…。
ただ、どの馬の鞍もずれてきてしまうんですよね…もともとのセッティングがあまり上手くなくて、膝にすごく負担がかかり下馬後、しばらく歩くのが辛かったですが、馬が好きなのでたっぷり乗れて楽しめました。
クアロアランチはメイン受付や案内のスタッフにも日本語が話せる方がいて、すごく親切で安心です。

We were over 30 minutes early for the scheduled tour shuttle, which was good because they showed up right after we did and wanted to leave.
The guide was very nice, but carried on a conversation with the passenger in the front seat for a lot of the time, and didn't inform us about much in the 3+ hours we spent in the van.
It was mostly cloudy all day, but he said it would clear up on top of the mountain. Well.. it didn't. He had a nice jackets, chairs and a blanket for everyone, as well as a nice telescope. The sky opened up for a quick look at Jupiter and it's moons, and our moon, but nothing else. We spent inside of 2 minutes total, looking through the telescope. Not much discussion of anything at all. It was a total bust and certainly not worth $230 per person. Make sure the sky will be clear and the moon will not be out as it makes it nearly impossible to see anything. Otherwise you're wasting your time and money. I know the tour guide doesn't control the weather, and he did offer a return trip next time we were on the island with a half day to spend in a van, but we will pass.

This was a bucket list trip sister trip! The crew was great and a lot of fun! They were able to get us on the fish and was very exciting. The most disappointing part was that this was very misleading in the experience listing. We intentionally chose a trip with a high fish take home and brought coolers. The listing stated
-The captain and crew will filet and clean any caught fish at the end of the trip and bag it for quests, but any single fish over 100 lbs will stay with the boat unless otherwise agreed upon.

We caught 3 fish all 34 lbs or less and we each only came home with 5lbs of fish.
We asked the captain about this and was told that that's not how it was done. We felt very misled and would have chosen a different charter had We have known.
Was a bummer ending to a fun day and came home empty handed.

I had always wanted to join a stargazing tour on the Big Island of Hawaii, and this was my first time participating. The guide spoke Japanese, which made me feel very comfortable joining the tour.

On the day of the tour, it was quite cloudy at sea level, and I was worried about whether we would be able to see the sunset and the stars. However, since Mauna Kea is higher than the clouds, we were able to see the sunset above the sea of clouds, which was very magical and wonderful.

We could see the stars, but unfortunately, the moonlight was too bright, and we couldn't see the Milky Way. 💦 It was an opportunity to experience how precious moonlight is in complete darkness. I definitely want to participate again when I visit the Big Island!

However, the time for exploring Haleiwa was short, and it was a bit disappointing that we only had enough time to eat.

The wind was stronger than I imagined, but I was kindly lent a down jacket, which made it possible to enjoy the sunset at the summit despite the cold.

I finally got to go to the Makapu'u Trail, which I've been interested in for a long time! When we stopped by the blowhole, it was raining heavily, but by the time we reached Makapu'u, the weather cleared up, and I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The views of Kailua and the mountains were stunning. The driver was very kind and made a stop at Leonard's for everyone’s request, so we didn’t have to go to the shop ourselves. On the day of the event, it was a bit chilly with cloudy skies and some wind, but riding horses in the open scenery of the highlands was very enjoyable and became a memorable experience. The staff provided thorough guidance, allowing us to participate with peace of mind. There were also opportunities to speed up and run a couple of times, which was great because it added a bit of active fun to the leisurely riding. The time spent riding through the vast Kohala Coast ranch felt extraordinary and was very soothing.

当日は風があり曇り空で少し肌寒かったのですが、高原の開放的な景色の中での乗馬はとても楽しく、思い出に残る体験になりました。スタッフの方も丁寧に案内してくださり、安心して参加することができました。途中で2回ほどスピードを上げて走る機会もあり、ゆったりした乗馬だけでなく、少しアクティブな楽しさも味わえたのが良かったです。広大なコハラ・コーストの牧場を馬に乗って進む時間は非日常感があり、とても癒やされました。
