Hawaii
i wanted to do something special for my girlfriend's birthday during our stay in Oahu.... Turns out it was a success!!!!
I booked the 3 star dinner w/ special occasion feature for my girl and I. The food was great! loved the lobster and steak... our waitress Jasmine was great also! It didnt take very long for us to get our plates.... The view of diamond head was amazing... When it was time for sunset, we headed up to the observation deck, WHAT A SIGHT!!!! We took a couple of photos and one of the other guests offered to take a photo op for us.... After seeing the picture she took of us, we realized what that picture could be! "something much more." as in, a Save the Date type of photo..... My girlfriend has an idea of what I was up to to since i mentioned the photo as a save the date type of picture but shes gonna be surprised when I pop the question in the near feature!!!!! THEN she can finally say that we can use this photo for our SAVE THE DATE picture!!!
thanks for the g
We did the sunset cruise and it was great. We walked to the marina from our hotel (Marriott Beach Club) and were surprised how friendly the staff on board was. They were always offering us drinks and chatting with us. Sitting on the net of the boat was fun and the sunset was romantic. I had champagne and my finance had the cruise's "special" drink which had 3 shots of rum in it. The experience was romantic but a family would enjoy this too. There were a few groups of friend on board that seemed to enjoy themselves. It is a nice end to the day, not too expensive, and very relaxing. Recommended for everyone!!
We had such a blast. The crew was great and the music that they played was amazing yet perfect. It was such a nice way to relax and enjoy the beach. We recommend this to anyone who is looking for something relaxing to do besides sitting on the beach. They do offer drinks at a small fee. If you want something to do for 1 1/2 hours then this is for you. The cool part is that once you are in the ocean you can sit on the netting in the front and really enjoy the sites of Waikiki.
We had an activity the previous day with this same company and were very pleased with the snorkling outing. On the sunset cruise a different staff was provided. When we booked a sunset cruise for our last night we were thinking something romantic. Their were only 2 couples on the cruise and some teenage kids and partying adults, anything but romantic. The kids were jumping on the "trampoline" at the front and even though they were told to stop they continued, one of the staff finally got them to stop but they were still complaing. I just felt maybe it should be booked either as couples or a party cruise. The scenery was beautiful at sunset, just not able to enjoy the experience much.
Had an amazing time on the Sunset Cruise. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. It was a fantastic setting to propose to my girlfriend!
It was the best time we've ever had. The food, the entertainment, the view was excellant.
On the day of arrival, I had some time before check-in, so I participated. It was a very comfortable stimulation for my slightly dazed mind. The boat, moving refreshingly with just the wind, allows you to feel the wind, sea, and sun directly on your body, unlike larger ships. The hour-long duration was just right.
I signed up for the activity on the recommendation of an acquaintance. Running through the blue sky with the wind while listening to music was incredibly refreshing and felt great. I saw a lot of big turtles. I definitely want to participate again!
This was our first time to Hawaii and wanted it to make it special. I booked the dinner not knowing what to expect. Come to find out we had a great time. We did the 3 Star dinner with the Lobster and Steak and it didn't disappoint. If you have the money its the best way to go. What really impressed me was the fact that we got caught up watching the view from the outside deck dinner was already served and almost all the guest had finished their meal. Our server Clifford was nice enough to keep our meal in the kitchen and brought it to our table when we sat. The show was great and the audience particpation at the end was fun. They also had a 2 man band playing local island music as we enjoyed our dinner. My wife and I agreed that the next trip(whch we are already planning) will include this cruise again. It's a nice way to see Waikii coastline with Diamond head at the top.
I thought the "dinner cruise" would be on a larger ship, but it was a yacht. It rocked quite a bit. The weather was nice, so the sunset and the view of the volcano were absolutely stunning. The buffet food was completely different from what was listed on the website. It wasn't bad, but when I tried to eat a salad with lettuce on the ship, it all blew away in the wind. However, considering the cost, I suppose this is what you get, and I wasn't dissatisfied. The staff was cheerful and friendly. I got lost on the way back to the shuttle bus from the coast. While I was lost, I ended up at the Marriott Hotel, so I went shopping at Kings Market. When I called the travel desk about getting lost, they said, "You don't have to worry too much about the shuttle bus." This seems to reflect the laid-back nature of Hawaii. I watched the sunset five times on the Big Island, and each time felt different. It would have been better to have dinner at a restaurant with a terrace while watching the sunset.
a really enjoyable evening entertainment was excellent as well as the food would reccomend this trip for anyone.
I was always terrified of boats...but this sunset cruise was the best gift my husband could have ever given me! We had so much fun, and I enjoyed the sea, from the sea! I have always been a beach lover, but sailing, WOW it's breath-taking. I would do it again if I ever have the good fortune to return. The crew made sure everyone had the best time. The drinks were great, and music too. It was one of the best times of my life. AND we could afford this one!! Thank you!!
The sunset cruise we took was awesome. They have excelled my expectation on every aspects: the boat, crew, food, entertainment, etc. The cruise ended with the beautiful Hawaiian sunset over the vast Pacific Ocean. We even got to see a pod of dolphins as a bonus. I'll recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice all-around sunset cruise. Mahalo!
The crew was amazing and knowledgable. The only snorkel/sunset cruise I could find. A Blast!
On July 2nd, The historical sunset cruise we took was fabulous right until the end but we were very disappointed that the captain elected to dock five minutes too soon. A fantastic sunset was in the making and if we had slowed down five minutes we would have been treated to a terrific sky. Everyone with a camera was out on deck with cameras ready, and we just pulled right in to dock watching the sun slip behind the island instead of over the water where it would have been had we stayed out five more minutes. I know for certain many others were unhappy with this handling of time. Why we had to dock so quickly is a mystery to me.
The boat lost engine power in the middle of going back to shore. Apparently there was some water in the fuel so we ended up staying out till about 8:30 or 9:00 with screaming children. It was fun other than the engine giving out. They said it had never happened before which is probably true but nevertheless, it wasn't as pleasant as I had hoped.
this was a very relaxing and romantic excursion of tranquility.
great food and entertainment. the scenery was awesome and the sunset was glorius. the people who entertained and served were impeccable in quality
My husband and were first time visitors to Hawaii and this seemed like a nice thing to do. We got the 3 star package with the celebration plan and definitely had a great time. This was our last planned event during our stay and it was a wonderful way to spend our last night in Hawaii. We were quickly shown to our table and the dinner service went smoothly from there. We went up to the deck above several times to check out the view of Waikiki Beach all the way down to Diamond Head. Dinner was wonderful (although a little messy since we had the lobster) and the entertainment (a jazz duo with a saxophonist for a couple numbers) during dinner was lovely. We came back to our table at one point to find the photo they took right after we boarded sitting in a very nice cover on our table, free with the package we ordered. The show after dinner was quite entertaining, especially when they got everyone in the room up on their feet and dancing in one big mass of people, it was so much fun!
It was our 38th anniversary and we had a great time! The server and the crew were very nice! I would do it again! Thanks so much.
Our sunset sail was awesome! Jonathan and Ryan were top notch - very friendly and safetly consious. The views of the island at sunset are not to be missed. Gourgeous sunset!
We had a great great time!!!
I would recommend this to everyone i know. It was all worth it. My partner and i enjoyed evey minute of it! The food was the bomb! We had 3 star which is a 5-course meal. i even took pictures of the food! Our server Rita was so nice, i always see her smiling and she was very attentive to us! It was so fun!
I will surely go back and this time i'm gonna bring my mom!
This was a very nice dinner cruise. It wasn't too long and it delivered on a great sunset.
The food was delicious too. We did the 1 Star package which came with crab legs, steak and mashed potatoes. Everything was better than I had expected it to be. It came with a complimentary Mai Tai which was also very good.
The Hawaiian music was good and the dancers were a lot of fun. My hubby and I got a really nice photo from them too.
I would recommend this to any couple looking for a little romance on their trip to Hawaii.
I participated because I wanted to ride on a yacht rather than a large ship.
The floor of the yacht is netted, allowing you to see the ocean! (Of course, there are also seats that are not netted.)
When the wind blows, ocean spray hits you and it's chilly, but that's part of the fun.
You can order alcohol and soft drinks, and I enjoyed sipping a margarita while relaxing and gazing at the vast ocean under the blue sky. It felt wonderful!
I was lucky enough to see a lot of dolphins.
Not all the participants were Japanese, but the guide spoke Japanese, so there were generally no issues.
For those who might get seasick, it could be a concern, but the participation fee isn't too high, so I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to feel the Hawaiian breeze!
Would have liked to have seen more fish on the snorkel trip, but nice crew.
Had a wonderful experience! Would do again!
It was a day with very strong winds. I was prepared to get wet, but it was beyond what I expected. I think it would be better to participate in a swimsuit. It was a lot of fun, but rather than elegant sailing, it felt like an exhilarating banana boat ride.
However, I had some trouble finding the check-in, as it was at the beach behind the Outrigger Hotel. I was looking for someone dressed appropriately, but in reality, there was just an ordinary guy sitting under a beach umbrella. The boarding area was about 50 meters away from there, and it might be more accurate to say it was near the beach in front of the Halekulani Hotel.
Additionally, I was informed on-site that the sailing would start 30 minutes late. As expected, it's Hawaii time! If you have plans after sailing, I think it's good to be aware that such things can happen.
The location was hard to find, and when I called, a foreigner answered and hung up on me. When I returned after it was over, there was a sign out. The content was very good.
My wife and I celebrated my 66th birthday on April 1st on board the Navatek 1. We had a great time and would do it again.
I was truly moved by how beautiful and emotional the sunset sinking into the vast ocean was, as I felt like I was monopolizing the great outdoors. Perhaps it was because of the relatively small size of the boat, or maybe it was the kindness of the captain, but I was able to enjoy the cruise right next to the helm, experiencing a refreshing feeling as if I were steering the boat myself.
Both the drinks and meals were delicious, and there weren't too many passengers, so everyone was able to enjoy themselves. The captain, who personally provided transportation, was very skilled in Japanese and had a wonderful service spirit; he was truly a fantastic person.
This was our second time to Oahu and our second sunset cruise. The first time was with Navatek and that was a nice cruise but we felt that one was overcrowded (we upgraded our cruise on both trips). The cruise on the Star of Honolulu was much more expensive than our upgraded Navatek cruise so we were looking for a much improved experience.
The Star of Honolulu cruise was VERY personal as there were very few people who upgraded to the upper deck package. Matt and Captain Roy were extremely attentive and a pleasure to be around.
Unfortunately it was very overcast and the ocean choppy for our voyage but the dining experience was first class. The jazz show was phenomenal as well.
The coach ride felt like herding cattle, and at the price of our ticket I would expect a more personal form of transportation (I realize a personal car required an additional upgrade, but would have expected something more intimate than a full sized tour bus). There was little to no information given
