We saw whales but the boat was so-so
Reviewed by: Anonymous, 2017/01/12We've been on multiple whale tours over the years. We saw multiple whales but the boat was crowded and pretty dated. The microphone didn't work for the first 30 minutes and they never used the hydrophone after mentioning that they had one. Definitely not the "spacious deck with ample seating for all passengers and first class amenities" as advertised. The Kawaihae Harbor location is setup weird. After arriving and checking in we had to board a bus for a 5 minute ride to the boat. Every cruise in the past allowed us to park and then walk on without a shuttle bus. The crew was friendly.

Not much to see

That's not Body Gloves fault, they made the cruise enjoyable anyway.
We did get to see two whales and a couple dolphins.

遠くから見れました

船を引き返すときにクジラの群れが飛び上がる様子が見えたのでほかの乗客たちが船長に伝えたのですが、もう時間切れみたいでとても残念でした。

迫力満点！！

ガイドが英語なので全ての内容は聞き取れませんでしたが、大きな船に揺られ、広い海を見ているだけでとても癒されます。
子連れ家族で参加しましたが、子供料金無料だったのが良かったです。

Morning Whale Watch & Snorkel BBQ Cruise (from Kailua-Kona Pier)
An absolutely grand time
Reviewed by: ScottJ, 2016/01/23This tour is outstanding. One disclaimer, it is 'whale watch lite' then let's go snorkel. We looked for whales on the way to the snorkel spot and again on the way back. And we did see a couple from a distance. I say this because if you want to really focus on the whales, get up really close, look for multiple sightings, etc., then you might want to choose another. But, if you want a great cruise with great snorkeling, and an opportunity to see a whale, then this is the one.
The boat is well equipped, comfortable, and the crew very attentive. Food is available most of the cruise, and it was very good. A cash bar was available. The captain was very knowledgable, giving interesting commentary on the whales, dolphins (we shall many Dolphins), and geology of the island.
The snorkel spot was outstanding, located just off the coast. The water was just right, and there were all kinds of colorful fish to see. The snorkel instruction was h best I have seen. They even taught me how to not drink half the ocean. There is a water slide on the boat, fun.
Overall a great day.

Amazing time with great people
Reviewed by: Kevin, 2016/01/07The party I was with and I, recently went on a tour and didn't see any whales and there was a miscommunication about there garantee on Dolphin/whale sighting. We wrote a negative review and their office called and apologized for the confusion and offered us all a free trip back on the boat. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip AND the fact that they called us back for another trip. Thank you very much!! This is a great trip you dont want to miss out on.

This was my first time snorkeling and they went over everything very well. And lucky us - we got to see two whales at the end of the season, no less! I would definitely do this again or one of the other Body Glove activities.

The staff was very enthusiastic and quick to point out and get us closer to the dolphins and whales that were spotted. It was a real surprise and treat to see a whale breach in early April. The snorkeling spot was beautiful, and my kids loved the high jump and water slide.

not a single attempt to see a whale was made
Reviewed by: DutchCleo, 2015/04/10I was sold this tour as a whale watch & snorkel event, but on the day it was not that (it was a boat ride, piss-up and snorkel). No attempt was ever made to see any whales and it was not billed as such to others on the boat. The barman was very good at selling us all sorts (GoPro hire, sell snorkels, drinks, underwater cameras etc), and lots of people were drinking copious amounts of cocktails and having a fab time. The atmosphere on the boat was great. The boat and equipment was very good (much better than on another snorkel excursion I did earlier that week), staff, facilities & food were good, and the weather was fabulous. I really wanted to see the whales as it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (I live in the UK), and other trips that week had been for whale watching through Body Glove cruises, but not this one. It must have been an unfortunate mix-up through this website

We also saw some bottle nose dolphins that escorted us back to the pier. Then while we were docking we saw a sea turtle through the glass bottom boat. It was a fantastic and relaxing tour.

Reviewed by: Meme , 2015/03/15Wow we saw momma baby and daddy humpbacks was saw whales all around us their tales were enormous it was the best day. We went mid morning the catamaran was spacious and very comfortable. Easy to board. The crew was very informative and friendly they were just as excited with all the action around us. We went in February 2015. I would highly recommend this tour.

The staff were very friendly & courteous, helping my young nephew who was scared to enjoy the day. The snorkelling was fantastic and as promised, saw several spectacular humpbacks and spinner dolphins. The people working the boat made it fun & safe and were sure to help with anything needed. Well worth it & will definitely do it again!

Reviewed by: Roger, 2015/01/21What a wonderful experience. We got to see whales and dolphins just a couple miles off shore. Whales breaching the surface constantly for 2 hours. We had one breach the water within 100 feet of the boat! Would highly recommend to anyone.

ざとうくじらの姿に興奮

午前中にふねにのりましたが、海外からの方が多くクジラが出てくると
のりのりで『イエ〜〜〜〜〜〜イ！！」
私の行った年末年始はまだ序の口のようですがこの後３月くらいまでハワイではザトウくじらが散乱の為に南下してきますからよく見えます。
見張り役の方々とキャプテンがあの辺り！火事を進めて行くと２匹親子で、雄のみなど様々な形態で
潮を吹き尻尾を見せて潜ったり・・・・最後の方は船を追いかけてくぐって行きました。
こんな体験はなかなか出来ませんが、船酔いする方は注意してくださいね

In these circumstances I think it's best to look upon the trip as a pleasure cruise because we were treated to great views of the Western side of Big Island. The crew deserve a mention...always polite and courteous...they looked after everyone with complimentary soft drinks.

Excellent day full of wildlife and fun

We had tons of time to snorkel and explore the reef. Every excursion experience will be different, but I recommend this company to adventurers of all ages.
