I had a really fun time, sometimes trotting and sometimes slowly herding cattle in the magnificent scenery.

It seems that horses have various personalities; there were horses that could walk almost automatically for children, while adults had to give proper instructions, and larger horses for well-built foreigners. There were a total of 10 participants, and they selected horses that suited each person, explaining, "This horse is..." when it was time to ride.

The explanations were in English, but they spoke slowly for the Japanese participants, so it was relatively easy to understand (the difference in speaking speed for native speakers was quite noticeable, haha). However, if it's your first time riding, it might be tough if you can't understand and speak English well.

雄大な景色の中、時に駈歩したり、牛を追ったり(ゆっくり)、すごく楽しい時間を過ごせました。
馬は、色々性格があるらしく、子供にはほぼ自動運転で歩ける子、ちゃんと指示出さないといけない子には大人、体格のいい外国の方には大きな子…と合計10名の参加でしたが、それぞれに合わせた馬を選択してくれ、乗る時に「この子は…」説明してくれました。
英語での説明でしたが、日本人にはゆっくり喋ってくれていたので比較的わかりやすかったです(ネイティブの方に対するトークスピードの差が凄かった笑)。
ただ…初めての乗馬だと、ちゃんと英語を理解して喋れないとキツいかもしれません。

I had a great time horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch on Oahu, so I decided to try it again this time. Kualoa is quite touristy, and I felt comfortable using their services even though I don't understand English, but there was no one who spoke Japanese here, which made me a bit anxious and dizzy on the horse. However, the staff were enthusiastic and warm, so I was able to get through safely.

The horses are smart, so I mostly just had to sit there, but going downhill was a bit scary, and I tensed up, resulting in knee pain by the end. During the ride, we were told to put our water and phones in a special bag for safety. Also, since the wind was chilly, it was necessary to wear something over our clothes. I participated in a windbreaker, long pants, and sneakers.

It seemed that wearing a helmet was at my own risk, but I borrowed one. Hats can get blown away by the wind, startling both me and the horse, so wearing a helmet was the right choice. This time, I couldn't fully enjoy the magnificent scenery due to my nervousness and not understanding the instructions, but I definitely want to participate again. The photos taken by the staff along the way were wonderful and became great memories.

オアフ島のクアロア牧場での乗馬が楽しかったので今回挑戦しました。
クアロアは観光化されていて英語がわからなくても安心して利用できましたが、こちらは日本語が話せる方はいなかったので不安のあまり馬の上でくらくらしました。しかしスタッフの方が熱心で温かくフォローしてくださったのでなんとか安全に過ごすことができました。
馬が賢いのでほとんど乗っているだけで大丈夫でしたが、下りは少し怖くて力が入り、終了時は膝が痛かったです。
乗馬時は危険防止のため、水と携帯は専用のバッグにいれるように言われました。また、風がつめたいので、羽織るものも必要です。ウインドブレーカーに長ズボン、スニーカーで参加しました。
ヘルメットは自己責任らしかったでが、私はお借りしました。帽子は風で飛ばされて自分も馬もおどろくので、ヘルメットで正解でした。今回は説明がわからず、緊張したため雄大な景色を堪能できませんでしたが、もう一度ぜひ参加したいです。途中でスタッフの方が撮ってくださった写真は素晴らしく、とてもよい思い出になりました。

Ive always had a fear of horses but this activity helped get over my fear. The ladies were absolutely amazing in teaching us how to ride the horses and giving us a good laugh while on the ride. This activity gives you a different view of the land surrounding the waterfall. A must do when visiting for sure!

12000 acres of beauty. The guides are super nice funny and allow you to trot or chill how you please. Not a boring nose to tail ride it was fun to go fast a few times and let the horses do their thing while seeing all the other animals. Definitely bring a jacket (or they have some), close toed shoes and jeans super cold and windy up there. Loved it!

My first horseback riding experience was very satisfying. Unfortunately, it was drizzling, and the water dripping from the borrowed raincoat soaked my pants, but I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

There were two families from the mainland, with a total of 10 participants, and two instructors leading us. The well-trained horses sometimes didn't listen and grazed freely, and at times they picked up speed, which was a bit troublesome. However, looking back, it was all part of the charm and became a topic of conversation for family bonding.

This time, there were no other customers, so it was just my wife and me for a private horseback riding experience. The instructor was Maika, my horse was Key-kun, and my wife's was Okore-chan.

In Japan, after a thorough explanation and practice, we usually set off, but here, there was just a brief explanation of the basic movements like how to go forward, turn, and stop, along with what not to do for the horses, and we set off right when we were wondering if we were going.

I actually wanted to go to Waipio Valley, but I was told it’s not accessible right now, so we rode in the mountains. Maika explained various things to us.

Enjoying the beautiful scenery and fresh air, we spent about two hours, with breaks in between, swaying on Key-kun and Okore-chan. It was incredibly moving to experience a faster pace and even a little running, which is something that would be unthinkable in Japan. I really understood why jockeys adopt that position due to the pain in my thighs, haha.

It was a valuable experience that I definitely want to try again!

今回、他のお客様がいなかったので家内と2人だけのプライベートでの乗馬体験となりました。
インストラクターはMaikaさん、私のはキー君、家内のがオコレちゃん。
日本の乗馬では懇切丁寧な説明の後、練習した後出発しますが、こちらでは進み方、曲がり方、止まり方の基本動作の説明、お馬さんの為にやっちゃいけない事の説明があるだけ、もう行くの？って言うタイミングで出発。
本当はWaipio渓谷に行きたかったのですが、今は入れないとの事でお山⛰での乗馬。

綺麗な景色を見ながら、綺麗な空気を満喫して、キーくん、オコレちゃんに揺られる事休憩を挟んで約2時間弱堪能しました。
日本ではあり得なかった、早足や少し走ってもらい超感動　余りの股の痛さに競馬の騎手があの姿勢になるのが良く分かりました笑笑
是非またトライしたい貴重な体験でした！

This was my third time horseback riding on the Big Island, but this time it was a tour that not only included riding but also allowed us to enter the waterfall pool. The weather was great, and the scenery was beautiful. At the waterfall pool, we were able to get close to the falls on a stand-up paddleboard. The water was a bit cold, but it was such a rare opportunity that I decided to jump in. I couldn't swim smoothly, but it was a valuable experience! The American family I was with had three boys who dove into the waterfall pool from the rocks, and the dad followed, with the mom joining in at the end! They looked like they were having a blast. There was also a zip line tour that went over the top of the waterfall (that looked pretty speedy and fun too). I definitely want to participate in that next time. Overall, it was a really enjoyable tour!

すごく楽しそうでした。他のツアーでは滝の上を通過するジップラインもありました（こちらもけっこうすぴーどがあり楽しそうでした）
次回はこちらも参加したなと、とにかく楽しいツアーでした。

I was anxious about renting a car for the first time, but I arrived without getting lost. The weather was clear, and the view was fantastic. The staff were all cheerful and friendly. They took photos for each group, and the cows that were around made for great memories. I'm in my 60s, but it was totally fine.

Great staff, gentle horses, and a fun adventure. We had our 9 year old granddaughter who had never ridden but they went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and with a horse that she could ride safely.
I have lots of riding experience and was able to enjoy the ride as well; they shared much information about the plants and animals and Hawaiian history. Btw, the swim at the half way point was very refreshing.

On this trip, I wanted to challenge myself with proper horseback riding, so I signed up for this tour, and I was first surprised by the location! It was at an elevation of 2000 meters, as described, in the Kohala Coast. I took a taxi round trip, and I wondered if it would be okay in such thin air, but there was no need for concern. The friendly Hawaiian cowgirls provided kind explanations, and I easily got on the horse, proceeding in a line towards the highland sea. Unfortunately, the weather was not great, and we encountered rain several times during the two hours, but I was able to look down at the coastline of the Kona region and met many cows on the highland. It was an experience that will become a lifelong treasure.

We did the 1 1/2 hr.& its a great view.The guides were fun. This is not ride in a line, you can spread out and go faster in a few areas. Wear jeans, hats and bring a jacket even if it's hot where you are! It's beautiful, lush and on grazing land for their cattle and sheep. Loved it, and would recommend! Thank you for a great memory!

We participated as two families (two elementary school students, two middle school students, and four adults). The ranch provides helmets, which can be borrowed for free at each person's discretion (it's better to wear a helmet due to the possibility of falling off!).

At the beginning, the ranch staff gave a brief explanation of how to handle the horses and important points to note (everything was in English, so I needed to lightly interpret for the kids).

After that, the staff selected horses based on the participants' body types, and we quickly started riding. It might be hard to believe in Japan, but even beginners were able to ride the horses, and instead of just leading them around, we all went outside the ranch! The horses were quite accustomed to the trail, so we formed a line following the horse in front of us, but depending on the horse's nature, some wanted to move quickly while others were a bit reluctant to go forward.

At one point, there was a challenge to try a gallop, which made me a bit nervous for the third grader, wondering if they would be thrown off.

This bold tour is unique to America, and riding while overlooking the beautiful ocean was amazing; I believe it will become a lifelong memory! ✨

牧場にはヘルメットが用意されており、それぞれの判断で無料でお借りすることができます。（落馬の可能性があるのでヘルメットは被った方がいいです！）

その後牧場の方が参加者の体型などから馬を選んでくださり、早速乗馬。日本ではあり得ないと思いますが初心者でも同じように馬に乗り、引馬でもなく、全員牧場の外へ！馬がかなり慣れているので前の馬に続く形で隊列を組んで進みますが馬の性質によっては早く進みたがったりなかなか、進まなかったり。。ということももちろんありました。

途中駆け足に挑戦しよう！と、駆け足チャレンジもあったので小3の子など、振り落とされないか少しドキドキしました。

アメリカならではの大胆なツアーですがとにかく美しい海を見下ろしながらの乗馬はすばらしく、一生の思い出になると思います✨

We arrived early some did not which put us behind.
Please please wear the right kind of clothes to ride a horse.
Not a dress and heels.
Beautiful ride horses healthy and well taken care of.
Our guides were awesome very knowledgeable of area and great conversation.
I wish there was more time at waterfall.
So pretty
It rained on the way back and being from The desert it was so fun.
I would definitely go again.

My husband and I loved our ride at Waimea. Our guides Jamie and Julie were fun and made my husband (who was a first time rider) very comfortable on his horse. Jamie shared so much of his knowledge of the island with us while we were riding to and from the waterfall for which we were very grateful. The swim at the waterfall was gorgeous and refreshing. A wonderful experience overall and absolutely worth it! Highly recommend!

We did this tour after our sunrise wedding. It was a nice escape! It was romantic and fun, not to mention beautiful! It felt like a respectful way to tour the area where some of the locals live. My sisters and I all enjoyed this horseback riding and waterfall tour. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and nice. He gave us clear riding instructions and an interesting introduction about the valley and the plants. The waterfall and the view of the whole valley are awesome. We got the chance to taste the oranges picked from the valley. The horse I was riding kept eating or drinking while walking on the road or in the creek and was still under control. Thanks to the tour guide for helping us take some nice pictures. Overall, this is my best horseback riding so far.

Wonderful trek through Waipio Valley. They staff was extremely attentive and reachable throughout the ride. Beautiful surroundings and luxury delivery down the valley to the beautiful horses. I am a very inexperienced rider and I felt very comfortable from the drive down the steep terrain to leading my horse on the trail. My horse was very responsive and this made taking in the scenery a easy, enjoyable and unforgettable experience! Simba was a great horse!
