A fabulous experience with such a friendly crew, no one was left unattended. The sunset was particularly beautiful including the cloud colouring over the volcanoes. A lovely adventure worth every penny,i would recommend it to anyone!

Nice boat ride. If you are looking for a nice romantic dinner with your partner this isn't it. Food was okay and the service was nice enough but nothing fancy in the least. Paper plates and buffet style food. Wouldn't take the trip again but we did enjoy it for what it was,

All in all, this is a fairly inexpensive way to spend an evening in Hawaii and as long as your expectations aren't high you will be OK. I feel that the advertisement grossly exaggerates the experience though.

"Romantic"- nope, not really. Its you and 20 other people crammed onto a motorboat screaming kids and all for an hour ride. Wine is served in plastic Solo cups, nowhere to sit except the floor... did I mention the screaming kids?

"Sail"- nope, not at all. This was my biggest disappointment since we really wanted to go on a sail. Though technically it may classify as a sailboat (and the photos in the ads clearly show a sailboat), there is no mast, no sail. It's just a boat-ride.

"Champagne"-yep, in romantic plastic cups. But it was there.

"Sunset"- this part is true

The staff were quite friendly and helpful, can't comment on the food because I didn't try it but it looked like there was plenty. Didn't see any dolphins or mermaids like some of the other suspiciously positive reviews but can't fault the company for that, it's a matter of luck. They were a little disorganized but not to the point I think it will cause any problems.

It wasn't a bad time, I just felt the title was misleading. And again, for the price it's not a bad deal for Hawaii just don't expect to be floored. You'll be asked to post a positive review, best to just be honest.

We were so lucky on this trip, we had the best time! Dinner was really tasty, and there was plenty to eat and plenty to drink. But the highlight was all the whales we saw!! Like I say, we were really lucky....we had whales swimming alongside us, literally for the entire evening...it was surreal! It was a beautiful, calm night. The captain made sure to turn the boat every now and then so that we never lost sight of the sunset. The crew were all really nice, and super helpful. We drank champagne, and stood at the railing and watched the sun set. It was beautiful!!

A must-see in winter on the Big Island of Hawaii!
You can definitely see a large group of humpback whales if you join a tour.
However, if you don't go on a Japanese tour, there will be no explanations in English, and there was no consideration for Japanese speakers as they spoke very quickly.
There is no transportation provided outside of the Waikoloa area.
Just a heads up.

The whales didn't come as close as I had expected, but I was able to see many of them. We were blessed with good weather, and the feeling of cutting through the calm sea was incredibly refreshing. The view of the mountains from the sea was also fantastic. The staff did not speak Japanese, and about 80% of the participants were foreigners, so a basic understanding of English is necessary to comprehend the situation. Additionally, there was a notification about meeting in the lobby for pickup, but we actually gathered at the car drop-off area just outside the hotel entrance, so be careful about that.

I participated on December 9.
It might be a bit early for whale watching, as they appeared briefly in the distance, disappeared when we approached by boat, and then reappeared again when we moved away.
Since it was the beginning of the season, I wondered if the captain wasn't familiar with the points, so I thought a bit more patience was needed.
Unfortunately, I couldn't understand much since no Japanese was spoken, making it a disappointing tour.

THE BEST ZIPLINE EVENT ON THE BIG ISLAND

So many things make this the best zip line on the big island including NINE zips, the last one a tandem AND over 1100 ft long but the absolute best part was the tour guides Kalei and Kalani. In fact, Kalani was our ATV tour guide 4 years ago when we were last there. They made this a very fun adventure and encouraged my hubby who was fearful of heights; even he loved it, after the first one! Truly amazing scenery and very fun, patient, and experienced guides. Safety was definitely a priority for them but made our adventure extra special. Thank you Kalei and Kalani!!!

On the last day on the Big Island, I booked a sunset dinner cruise. While other options had Japanese guides and mostly Japanese participants, this time there were mostly foreigners. Even on the bus, I couldn't understand what the guide was saying, and I was just trying to get my participation ticket while looking around. However, once we got on the boat, someone who understood Japanese came to explain things, and even though I didn't understand everything, I was able to enjoy the atmosphere with everyone!

The drinks made at the bar on the boat and the buffet food were both very delicious! As expected from a country that values lady first, the staff's attentiveness was excellent and very kind!

Watching the sunset while pleasantly tipsy was truly moving!!

Next time, I want to go with my family!

This is a great day for an experienced snorkler and, at the same time, individuals less confident in the water. An abundence of sea life, including a manta, a great beach and beautiful vista were all part of the experience. Followed by a smooth but good sail home, it was enough but not too much for a first morning after a late arrival. Food good, crew great and helpful, equipment good and boat comfortable - great for the activity type and well maintained. All in all, a very good experience.

It was great. As soon as we got out to the ocean, we spotted a mother and a baby whale. We were there for a couple of hours, and we probably saw 5, 6 whales. The staff and the captain did a great job catering all the guests (maybe about 30 of them on board). The naturalist explained a lot about the humpback whales, and it was very educational.

I'd highly recommend this one. It's very family friendly also, and the little kids were very excited to see the real whales in the ocean.

It was my first time in Hawaii. I wanted to see the sunset in Hawaii from a boat, so I decided to sign up for an English activity.

We were the only Japanese couple there. However, the other participants and the staff were all very kind, and we had a wonderful time. We even saw wild whales!

The food had a lot of meat. I wish there had been a bit more vegetables. The cocktails and dessert cake were very delicious.

Nate and the rest of the crew did a very nice job with the cruise. They were cordial, knowledgeable, and very helpful (thanks to Nate for keeping my mai-tais full and even finding a non-alcoholic drink for my pregnant wife :-)). Although we didn't see any whales the cruise was still very fun and the cocktails were fantastic!

"Hawaii Activities" could have done a much better job at communicating with us and Ocean Sports about where to meet. We were told to meet in the lobby of the Marriott for a shuttle... The shuttle never came and we had to do all the leg work to find out that we could have simply went out to the Ocean Sports hut right out on the beach in front of the Marriott. Concentrate on the details instead of the money please.

My husband and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary!
I suggested the Champagne Sunset cruise on our anniversary date and to renew our vows. I liked the ideal so much I accidently double booked it. A rep from Hawaii Activities called to inform me of the double booking in time for me to cancel one of them as not to be charged twice! The atmostphere was great! There were several couples celebrating anniversaries and newlyweds. The staff was fun and helpful. The ceremony was shared with everyone on board as our choice. The Captain was excited for us and enjoyed performing the ceremony! I recommend this cruise and staff for everyone.

This trip was fantastic. Captain Jeff and his crew, Nathan & Carlos, were wonderful and made sure that we had a great time. The food was delicious and we enjoyed relaxing on the deck, reveling in the ocean breeze as we sailed into the Pacific sunset. Highly recommend this excursion as it's fun for all ages. :)

This was by far our favorite part of visiting Hawaii for the first time. It was a total rush but we also felt completely safe with our extremely competent guides, Mattie and Jeramiah. Highly recommended. We have a slight fear of heights but the guides made us feel completely comfortable and we had so much fun!
If you're going to zip line in Hawaii, definitely use this company! Thanks again for an amazing experience, Kohala Zipline!

My husband and I loved this zipline adventure. We loved Hawaii but this just made the trip perfect. I had never done it before (my husband had) and to be honest I will a little bit scared but as soon as we started I had so much fun. Our guides were amazing. So fun, friendly and careful. We participated along with a family of 5 (3 children and their parents). They had so much fun too! I HIGHLY recommend everyone try this. The lines are safe, the views are spectacular and it will really make your vacation special!
