I made a reservation for the early morning. This is my second time. In Hawaii, 7 AM is quite early, but since it finishes by 8:30, I can do whatever I like afterward, and the discount was great too. I think it's better than the afternoon session in terms of heat.

As for the experience itself, the breeze felt nice, and it really felt like flying in the sky with beautiful views, which was wonderful. The guide and the captain spoke only in English, but they explained things clearly, and I was able to enjoy the whole time with a smile.

Before landing, they asked if I wanted to dip my feet in the sea, so I requested it, and it felt great to be in the seawater.

There are a few minutes on the boat to the flight point, and also some waiting time for other participants, so I think it would be good to have motion sickness medication for those who get seasick. I felt a little nauseous. Still, it's an activity I would want to participate in again.

フライトポイントまで船に乗る数分、また他の参加者を待つ時間があるので船酔いする人は酔い止めがあるといいと思います。私は少し酔いました。
それでもまた参加したいと思えるアクティビティです。

Since it’s nature, there are days when you might not see dolphins, but I was able to see them about three times! They were incredibly fast. Additionally, I also got to see a manta ray. My husband said he even heard the dolphins' voices.

I also really enjoyed the stories about warriors and scary tales with Rei. By the way, Rei was quite handsome! I want to see whales too, so if I can go back to the Big Island, I would love to join this tour again.

About 30 minutes to an hour by boat, we encountered a pod of 100 to 200 dolphins. They were jumping and spinning all around, and I was already moved before even entering the water. Once in the water, I swam a little, and there were so many dolphins swimming right in front of me; it was incredibly touching. They were so close that I felt I could almost reach out and touch them!

Since I was in a wetsuit, I felt safe entering the water as it helped me float. Some people who were not confident swimmers were worried, but in addition to the wetsuits, they provided floatation devices, and the guide pulled the floatation device for them, which made them very happy to see the dolphins up close.

Our guide, Ray, was very engaging and considerate during the trip, making it a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It would be a real shame not to participate in a dolphin tour while visiting the Big Island!

We either need to delay the start to 8:30 PM or reschedule for another day." I ended up waiting for two hours and agreed to push it to 8:30 PM. I killed time at the beach, and when I returned to the meeting point around 8:00 PM, I was told, "We can't set sail due to maintenance issues." (However, there were many boats at the port, but none had their lights on, and I suspect they weren't even preparing to set sail.)

I was told I would receive a refund for the tour fee and a free participation in the next tour. This is unacceptable. It's the worst. According to the guide, "This shouldn't happen, but it occasionally does."

Considering what I had to give up and compromise to participate in the manta tour, and how everything was ruined due to the cancellation, a refund of just the tour fee is not enough. Who would want to spend time and money to come back to the Big Island and book a tour with a company that treated them this way? 1) It's not guaranteed that I can come to the Big Island multiple times in my life. 2) Even if I do come, I don't know if the manta tour will still be available. 3) I also don't know if the tour company (Dolphin University) will still be around in a few years. If the system changes, how will they manage the "people who get to go for free"?

I consulted with the emergency contact for the night, but I decided to skip the manta tour during my stay in Hawaii. I am not satisfied with this response, so I expressed my desire to have the facts confirmed and shared within the tour company and to discuss the response with someone in a higher position, but I received no follow-up, and only the tour fee was refunded via Veltra.

If the reason was natural, like not encountering mantas or being unable to set sail due to a hurricane, I would be disappointed but understand. However, this time it was completely a human error. マンタツアーに参加する為に諦めたもの妥協したもの、不催行のせいで台無しになったものを考えるとツアー代金のみの返金では足りない。それにこんな仕打ちをされたツアー会社に誰がもう一度、時間とお金をかけてハワイ島に来てツアーを申し込むでしょうか。①人生のうち何度もハワイ島に来れるとは限らない②来たとしてもマンタツアーが存続してるか分からない③そもそもツアー会社（イルカ大学）自体も数年後に存続してるか不明。体制が変わったりした際、どのように「無料にしてあげる人」を管理するのでしょうか。
夜間緊急連絡先とも相談しましたが、今回ハワイにいる期間でのマンタツアーは見送ることに。この対応には納得していないので、ツアー会社内で事実経緯確認、共有してもらった上で、対応について上席の人と話したいと伝えましたが、何も音沙汰無く、ツアー代金のみveltra経由で返金されました。
海に出たけどマンタに出会えなかった、ハリケーンが来ていて出航出来なかった等、自然が理由なら残念ですが仕方ありません。ただ、今回は完全に人的ミス。対応に配慮が足りないと思う。楽しみにしていた気持ちが台無し。とても悲しかったです。

Staying at Royal Kona was very convenient. I lined up early after reading the reviews and was able to get a spot relatively close to the front. As it started, the sunset was beautiful, and I was captivated by the stunning view. The meal was served in a way where we went to get it in order of seating, so it wasn't too crowded. The taste was good as well. The song "Number One Day of Christmas" was amusing and stuck in my head, and my family and I found ourselves humming it.

The guide was very supportive, which made me feel safe while swimming. When I later watched the video, I learned that there are many different types of dolphin sounds, which was also enjoyable. I definitely recommend it!

It was a day with high waves and quite murky water, but the dolphins seemed to be in a good mood, coming close multiple times, allowing us to see them both on the surface and underwater.

Also, the love that our guides, Ray and Daisuke, had for the dolphins was wonderful. They prioritized not making the dolphins uncomfortable, which I believe is a rule we must follow when interacting with wild dolphins.

Since the tour takes place in an area where you can't touch the bottom at all, you'll float in a wetsuit, and Ray and Daisuke provide maximum advice and support. However, to fully enjoy this tour, I think it would be more fun if you try snorkeling in shallow waters or have the guts to dive in without being able to touch the bottom.

I was worried about whether we would see them since they are wild animals, but it turned out great. The guide was attentive, explaining the manta rays' ecology and checking on us regarding seasickness.

On the way back, similar to the outbound trip, the boat sped back in about 20 minutes, which was a bit chilly. It was reassuring to have two bath towels for drying off and as a windbreaker. I planned to change at a public restroom after the tour, but it was closed, so I couldn't change... I think it's best to prepare to absorb some water with a towel and wear something over it for the ride back.

Two years ago, I was able to encounter manta rays in astonishing numbers, but unfortunately, this time we didn't see many. It had been three years since I last saw the night sea, so I was nervous.

As explained on the boat, I was able to float surprisingly easily by holding onto a semicircular ring and resting my legs on a long foam stick. Thanks to that, I could wait for the manta rays while comfortably observing plankton and fish. It was breathtaking to see the manta rays swimming close to my body and spinning around!! If I could wish for anything, it would be to see them in a group.

I borrowed a wetsuit, so I wasn't cold in the water (wearing aqua shoes might have helped too). My husband said he felt cold. Changing back when we returned was easy since I brought a pareo (a square piece of cloth).

I am grateful to the staff for providing an experience that I couldn't have done on my own.

船上での説明通り、半円形のリングにつかまり発泡スチロールの細長い棒に脚を乗せていたので思いのほか楽に浮いていることができました。お蔭で、プランクトンや、魚を見ながら余裕をもってマンタを待つことができました。

We departed at dusk and were able to enjoy the sunset sinking into the sea from the boat. We also encountered four mantas, making it a very satisfying tour. While we were snorkeling and looking into the sea, the mantas approached us with their mouths open (to eat plankton), passing right in front of us multiple times and even spinning around. They came so close that we almost touched them, even though we shouldn't have. I think this is a rare experience.

夕暮れ時に出発し、ボートから海に沈むサンセット鑑賞もできましたし、マンタ4枚にも遭遇でき、大変満足なツアーでした。シュノーケルで海をのぞいている私達に、マンタが口を開けて(プランクトンを食べるため)向かってきたり、何度も目の前を通り過きたり、回転したりと、触ってはいけないのに、触ってしまうほど近くまでやってきました。なかなか出来ない体験だと思います。

Several manta rays came right up to us, showing their bellies and dancing. It took about 30 minutes to reach the manta point after getting on the boat, and I was tired by the time we arrived due to the rain. You can see the mantas while snorkeling by holding onto the boat's rope. There are floats available, but you need to jump into the sea from the boat and swim back to it on your own. I was scared to jump in. The snorkeling lasted about 40 minutes. It was tiring because it was cold and raining. If you call out to the staff, you can return to the boat midway. On the way back, we were offered hot chocolate. It was physically challenging, but I’m grateful for the many mantas we saw and the hospitality of the Japanese staff.

Since it was my second time on a Segway, I was able to relax and enjoy the experience. The view of the ocean was beautiful, and we timed it perfectly for sunset. The guides were kind and took plenty of photos for us.

とても楽しかったんですが、集合場所に早くに集まったのに、英語での説明はあったらしいが、英語が苦手。その為船に乗るのが遅くなり、二階の日の当たる席しか空いてなく、どうにか日差し遮る場所に座れました。
