I was hesitant to join the tour because I'm not a good swimmer, but I'm really glad I participated. I saw a lot of dolphins and experienced emotions I had never felt before. The guide was very supportive, which made me feel safe while swimming. When I later watched the video, I learned that there are many different types of dolphin sounds, which was also enjoyable. I definitely recommend it!

Also, the love that our guides, Ray and Daisuke, had for the dolphins was wonderful. They prioritized not making the dolphins uncomfortable, which I believe is a rule we must follow when interacting with wild dolphins.

Since the tour takes place in an area where you can't touch the bottom at all, you'll float in a wetsuit, and Ray and Daisuke provide maximum advice and support. However, to fully enjoy this tour, I think it would be more fun if you try snorkeling in shallow waters or have the guts to dive in without being able to touch the bottom.

It is hard to know which cruise to book--well this is the one I would go with each time! The crew were knowledgable and respectful! As we came into the bay, their were a pod of spinner dolphins; we kept a respectful distance but we all got to take photos. Then when we pulled into anchor and snorkel, they made sure we knew to keep our distance from where the dolphins were swimming, since the dolphins come to the bay to rest it is even more important for people to give them their space--so impressed with the crew.

The snorkeling was beautiful. The coral was amazing and at many different levels with sooo many different species of fish!! Fabulous!

At first, we had a hard time finding the dolphin spot and kept cruising around the Waikoloa area. Just when I started to worry, the boat stopped, and we entered the water!

When we dove in at the call of "Here they come!", a large number of dolphins swam towards us!!!! The dolphins, which I usually only see in the aquarium, swam towards us leisurely and happily.

This is not a Japanese tour, so the guide spoke entirely in English. The staff were friendly, and we had a lot of fun. There seemed to be an explanation about Captain Cook, but we couldn't understand it due to our zero English skills. (laughs) However, I recommend this tour for those who want to see beautiful seas and fish while snorkeling! The sailing was quite slow, allowing us to feel the great outdoors. The Captain Cook monument and the bay right in front of you are truly beautiful, with dense coral and lots of tropical fish! I think this is the best place in Hawaii to see fish clearly. Japanese visitors staying on the Big Island tend to go to other tourist spots, and there are usually only Westerners participating in the snorkeling tours, but I really hope everyone can experience this beautiful underwater world. 今回の学びとしては、
・送迎なしの場合、駐車場の有無は確認すべき。
・経験があっても、英語ガイドで何となくの理解で返事をしてはいけない。
・シュノ―ケラーは自分の道具をもっていくべし。
当たり前のことではありますが、2回目の参加ということで、甘く考えてたところもありました。参加の際にはお気を付けくださいませ。

My trip to the Big Island always includes this snorkeling cruise.

First, we enjoyed a breakfast of fresh fruits and muffins. Along the way, we encountered whales and dolphins, and then headed to Captain Cook's destination. We had a fantastic time snorkeling in the beautiful sea and indulged in a BBQ lunch with hamburgers on board.

During snorkeling, even though I was in shallow water up to my knees, the current was strong, and I was swept away, becoming a feast for sea urchins. Thanks to my fins, I managed to protect the soles of my feet, but I ended up with 30 spines in my left ring finger, 20 in my right index finger, and countless others that I discovered later. I thought I had to remove them right there, so I endured the pain and pulled them out, somehow making it back to the boat. I was pushed back by the waves multiple times, leaving my knees and thighs covered in cuts and bruises, and I had significant bruising on my ribs, but the pain from the sea urchin stings was unbearable. My left ring finger swelled up black and was completely immobile, and even a light touch caused excruciating pain... the power of the sea urchin is terrifying.

The staff treated me with vinegar, which eased the intense pain a bit, but it was still an extraordinary level of discomfort. If you are careful about the current in shallow waters and the sea urchins, you can have a wonderful time!

ヴィネガーが良いとのことで、スタッフが処置してくれ激痛が気持ち和らぎましたが、尋常ではない痛みでした。
浅瀬の潮の流れ、ウニにはくれぐれも気をつけさえすれば、素晴らしい時間が過ごせます‼︎

Basically, it's a tour where you enjoy swimming with dolphins and then go snorkeling at the coral reefs of Kealakekua Bay. There were six guests on the Zodiac boat, but it seemed like that was the maximum capacity.

On the day I participated, I was very satisfied as I got to swim with pilot whales and manta rays. Last year, I participated in a dolphin tour with a Japanese guide, so when I compare the two experiences, I felt a sense of neglect here. Since it was an English tour, I couldn't catch much anyway, and the explanations were brief, plus there was no guide who entered the water with us. However, as soon as we got into the water, there were a lot of dolphins. They came really close, and I could see even the little scratches on their backs clearly. After that, while moving to another snorkeling spot, they looked for whales, and we were actually able to see one. The snorkeling was in a very clear area, and on the way back, they shared stories about the Big Island of Hawaii. I think it would have been even better if I could speak English, but I had a great experience.
