One of the best parts about working in Hawaii is the aloha spirit that everyone here shares.

The awesome weather and the beautiful sunsets are great too, don’t get me wrong, but having people that are friendly and gracious goes a long way in allowing you to really enjoy the time you spend in the islands.

As an end-of-the-year party, the HA office was able to go on a private charter on the Honi Olani, a sailing catamaran operated by our partner, Hawaii Nautical.

Friends and family were invited too, which led to a guest list of 49 people—much larger than I had expected, but still within the Honi Olani’s capacity.

After a briefing from the captain who introduced us to the crew, facilities, and available refreshments (cocktails & appetizers), we set sail.

We departed at 5:30 pm to catch the sunset, which came rather quickly since it’s already winter.

It was a beautiful evening, and much fun was had on the Honi Olani.

A big mahalo to our friends at Hawaii Nautical, as well as to everyone that was able to make it!
