A magical evening in Waikiki

Posted on: 2023/12/22

[Reviewed by HawaiiActivities.com Staff]

Having experienced many shows across Hawaii, I must say the Magical Mystery Show in Waikiki stands out as one of the absolute best. Accompanied by my 10-year-old niece, we were both completely mesmerized by the sheer brilliance of this performance.

The ambiance and decor of the venue transported us back to the enchanting Victorian era, and it was a delightful immersion into a world of wonder and magic. Not to mention convenience of its location made it very accessible for a non-driver like me :)

However, the true highlight was the exceptional magician whose performance was nothing short of spectacular. Their mastery and skill were evident in every act, and they had the audience's attention captivated throughout the show. My niece, in particular, was enthralled and thoroughly enjoyed every moment, and was so excited when she was called up to assist!

All in all, the Magical Mystery Show in Waikiki is an absolute gem, and definitely a must-see for anyone looking to have an evening filled with enchantment and awe~

Fun time at a Hawaii luau!

Posted on: 2023/02/27

Not only were the views awesome, but the food, performances, and activities were a ton of fun, and my friend and I are hella happy that we chose this luau.

It was great being able to walk through the aquarium to see the fish and sharks, and the large turtle pool was really neat. The turtles were swimming and snoozing, and just a nice chill time before heading into the luau.

With our mai tais in hand, we tried all of the different activities and lessons, and worked up quite the appetite before dinner was served :P Our bellies were stuffed with yummy fish, chicken, pork, and a bunch of other kinds of food, and I was surprised at how good everything tasted. Luau buffets can be pretty hit or miss, and this one was a HIT! :D

Love love LOVED the show, and each song and dance showcased a different part of the Polynesian islands, and their was one performer who was absolutely hilarious~

Overall, would totally recommend!

A great luau on Oahu!

Posted on: 2022/10/01

My friends and I have been to a number of different luau in Hawaii, but Mele Luau has been the best by far! The food was so delicious, and the show was really good too.

We drove out to the luau from Waikiki, and from the moment we arrived, we were greeted and treated with so much aloha. Everyone was very lovely, and were happy to share their knowledge of hula and tattooing with us before the dinner and show.

And speaking of dinner...it was so good! I went up to the buffet more than once to refill on the Thai green curry and the baked fish, and if I could have eaten more, I would have :P

The show was really enjoyable, and I love that they connected all of the different Polynesian performances with a cute little story, and at the end, the fire knife dance stole the show.

10/10 would definitely recommend!

Tons of turtles & lots of fun!

Posted on: 2022/09/29

I took my niece on this snorkel sail, and we both had a fantastic time. The captain and crew are so friendly, and we great about making sure we were both safe and comfortable in the water. Not only were there lots of fish at the snorkel spot, but we saw a bunch of turtles as well. The crew is also really good about making sure we didn't get too close to them, but also pointed out the turtles when they would come to the surface. The snacks they provided were greatly appreciated after over an hour of swimming and snorkeling, and I loved that they turned off the motor on the way back to the harbor so we could actually sail with just the sound of the ocean and wind. 10/10 would recommend!

A great time on Kaneohe Bay

Posted on: 2022/01/03

My friend and I had one of the best days on Oahu during this tour. From pick-up to drop-off, and everything in between, it was the perfect morning on the water.

After getting picked up in Waikiki, it was a quick drive to Kaneohe Bay, and a KBOS employee was there to meet us once the bus arrived. We got checked in and headed on-board, and it was non-stop fun from there.

The live musicians are EXCELLENT. Like, better than anything you will hear on the radio, and they also do double duty as lifeguards once you are in the water. We went snorkeling, stand-up paddling, and just chilled in the water since it was so calm and clear.

We brought our own food to the tour, but the donuts and hot tea were appreciated.

Definitely a repeat visit on my next trip to Hawaii!!!

A great way to escape with a few of my friends!

Posted on: 2020/08/27

My friends and I are always looking for ways to hang out virtually, and this was one of the best times I have had since lockdown. Tara was a fantastic game host, and the games and tasks that she created had us all engaged and having fun from start to finish.

I mean, who would have thought that I would be spending the afternoon coming up with monk seal inspired yoga poses? :P

The time just flew by, and I learned a lot of interesting facts about Hawaii, and it was non-stop from the moment we started.

My friends and I really loved it, but we are also really into escape rooms and games like that, and also love being rather silly, so this was right up our alley. Definitely going to try this again with more people since it is definitely more the merrier :)

An aquatic artistic adventure

Posted on: 2019/04/29

For my very first foray into the world Cirque, I decided to experience "O" and what a great choice it was! From the very moment we checked-in, until the final curtain call, I was taken on a wild thrill ride that left me breathless.

It is hard to explain just how amazing this show is, and I don't want to give out a bunch of spoilers, but everything you think it is, it is that AND MORE! The pool, the acrobatics, the movement, the artistry...there is nothing like it. If you can only see one show in Vegas, this is the one!

A rocky adventure in Vegas!

Posted on: 2019/04/29

I was looking for a bit of nature during my visit to Vegas, but didn't want to trek all the way to the Grand Canyon :P This tour to the Valley of Fire was the perfect option!

My friend and I were picked up right on time from our hotel, and our guide was amazing from beginning to end. The vehicle was a comfy pink van, and we learned a bunch about the area as we made our way to the state park.

Once there, we got to see a number of rock formations, took tons of photos, and even got to see some goats and chipmunks! Honestly, it was a perfect length, and after we were done, we still had plenty of time for dinner and show. If you are wanting to explore nature, but don't have all day, this is a great option!

The perfect show for a night in Vegas!

Posted on: 2019/02/14

I wanted to see a good ol' fashion Vegas review, and that is exactly what I got! All of the performers are top notch, and both the singing and dancing were spot on. I see a lot, and I mean A LOT, of shows on Broadway, and VEGAS! was just as good as many of the musicals I have seen.

My favorite sections were definitely the Frank Sinatra (Luck Be a Lady) and Gladys Knight & The Pips (Midnight Train to Georgia). Both had incredible singers, like REALLY good, and the lead dancer for Luck Be a Lady was just fabulous!

At 90 minutes, it was the perfect amount of show to see in between dinner and walking a long the strip, and with the theater being located inside the Miracle Mile Shops was REALLY convenient (Free parking! Yay!). Would definitely check out some of the other shows done at this theater complex :)

Learned so much about Polynesia!

Posted on: 2018/06/06

When I first got tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center, I was a little worried since we would be there all day. Would we find enough to do for 9 hours? Yes, yes we could, and one day wasn't even enough!

There were so many incredible activities and performances in all of the different villages, but my favorites had to be Samoa and Hawaii. The presenter for Samoa was not hilarious, but so entertaining, and quite the hottie too! :P I knew Hawaii would be great, how could it not be, but I was blown away by their performances.

We also visited Tahiti and New Zealand, but didn't have time for Fiji or Tonga unfortunately. Next visit! The canoe ride, and the canoe pageant were quite fun, and even the IMAX movie which we chose to see as a break from the walking, ended up being very good! You definitely don't want to miss it!

The food at the luau was so tasty, and I had a LOT of poke. So much poke. Like, pretty much all of the poke was in my belly by the end of dinner. And although I loved the show while we ate, the highlight was definitely the evening Breath of Life show. It was so interesting to see hula and other dances put to a story.

The day was long, but so worth it!
