Great Time!

Posted on: 2015/06/09

The waters were choppy but that didn't stop us! The crew was very polite and professional. You can watch the sharks from the boat while the other groups go too so you aren't bored. I do a lot of snorkeling and diving around the island, but this was a very unique experience. I will be bringing any other people who visit me to your company, thank you for an unforgettable time!

Snorkel Sail

Posted on: 2015/06/07

This activity was alright. It was more of a boat ride for me. I dont like just staying on top of the water, I like to free dive when I snorkel. The activity didn't say anything about not being allowed to do that. We couldn't get a good look at the reef from 15-20ft above it.. I guess it would be fun for tourist. When I asked they tried to give me a canned response about shallow water blackout and how dangerous it would be for them to come down and get us if they had too. Which would have been fine, if the guy who got in the water wasn't free diving while we were stuck at the surface... I understand the liability and whatnot, but if it was stated in the activity, I would have booked with another company or not at all...

North Shore Hike

Posted on: 2015/06/07

I live here on the island and do a good amount of hiking. I thought this hike was pretty cool! Our guide, Nui, was extremely knowledgeable about the Hawaiian culture and plants in the area. The trail has TONS of strawberry guava and mountain apple trees along it. He pointed out plants that were native. He also pointed out the invasive plants, the problems they cause, and how or why they were brought here. It was very interesting! What made this hike special for me was is that we were hiing deep into the mountains where there aren't any houses or sign of urban development in view. This is quite rare for me. Most of the hikes I've done, known or less known, have some area that shows a city or buildings or concrete structures. Nui also stopped at a campsite to let us get some beautiful scenic pictures. This was my favorite part of the trip. The view of rows of ridges and the valley that we were hiking in was breathtaking.

  • The creek

  • Mountain apples

  • This is where you are probably guaranteed to get wet. We crossed the rocks on the way past but the way back was harder.

  • Cooling off on the way back :D
