More of a party boat than educational

I had expected a larger boat with a bathroom as advertised but that is not what we got. There were no restrooms on board. The captain was more about making jokes than giving information about the whales. We did get some information from the assistants and the sonar microphone was cool. It took a long time to find some whales- which I don’t blame the crew for since the are wild animals in an ocean but the whole thing was not what I expected.

The tour was excellent even if the surf had made the water a little cloudy. The guides were excellent and knowledgeable.

Knowledgeable and exciting

We loved this tour - being on the summit was amazing. You can always tell when your guide is excellent and passionate about what they are speaking about. Maka was amazing and knowledgeable not only of Mauna Kea and the surrounding areas but you could tell he loved astronomy. Highly recommend this and I’d we come back again we will try to time it in the summer on a new moon to see even more.
