Our family had an amazing time on this fishing trip. The crew was sooo friendly and kind! They were so helpful when I had to nurse my baby on board and they gave us ginger chews if we felt nauseous. We highly recommend them and would be so happy to come back.

Beautiful day on the water, saw TONS of fish, my hushband loved it! Great crew too. Mahalo!!

I had experience with boat fishing in Japan, so I joined casually. We used a rig with frozen squid as bait. I caught a few flatfish, but the weather was nice, and the view of Waikiki was amazing. The staff cleaned the fish for us, put them on ice, and we could take them home. It was a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

胴付きで、エサは、冷凍イカでした。
釣果は、カワハギ数匹でしたが、天気もよく、ワイキキの眺めは、最高でした。
釣れた魚は、スタッフが、捌いてくれて、氷に入れてくれて、持って帰れます。気楽に楽しめます。

Went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We were in Oahu for 2 days at the tail end of our trip. This tour was perfect for what we wanted to accomplish on our last day. The tour lasted roughly 4 hours and we had full transportation to the hiking sites, plus entry fee for Diamond Head. We were able to see the sunrise at Diamond Head which was a once in a lifetime experience!

Definitely recommend this tour for those who want to hike solo, but need the transportation.

This adventure is perfect for lots of people. With the door to door transportation we did not have to worry about tickets or parking and the driver brought us Leonard’s famous Malasada donuts afterwards. The hike was doable for young and old and lots of picture points! I would definitely recommend it!

My husband and I did the 6am tour so we can catch the sunrise definitely recommend doing the early tour- it was amazing. I wish our tour guy would’ve provided flashlights or something it was pretty dark the for a good 30 min going up. Luckily our phones did the trick but it ate up our battery. Overall a beautiful experience

KOA picked us up and was a very enjoyable and safe driver. We had a perfect sunny morning to hike and it was absolutely gorgeous! All of us in our group that hiked are in our 60’s and was not to difficult of a journey for us. The views on the way up and down were beautiful, but the views from the top were breathtaking! One of our favorite excursions while visiting the Hawaiian Islands.

The captain and hand knew their stuff and had us on fish all day. The boat is clean and well stocked and absolutely seaworthy.

The greenery is the prettiest I’ve ever seen! Don’t focus on making it to the top and seeing the waterfall…the best part is the experience getting there!

This is a nice quick activity for people interested in finishing whether your new or experienced. This can get real tippy on the waves so make sure you have anti-nausea just incase.

The small crew is great, fun and friendly, they're helpful and supportive.
We're used to some medium fish from rivers and lakes mainland, so these fish seemed small, but it was still fun fighting with some on the line, that's always the fun part.
However the water is so clear it's such a different experience.
They will teach you how not to get your weight stuck and how to get it out if you do, if not, they'll help you.

While moving from fishing spot to spot, we had dolphins swim along side our boat and saw a few turtles breach!!
Would love to see if there are bigger fish to catch depending on season but overall was fun, don't expect to be catching massive ocean fish though.


I do not recommend this for kids who either have not fished or are not interested in it before hand. It's fishing, there's a lot of waiting and patience involved, and most kids if they havnt fished before and know it's a waiting game, like on our tour will get bored within 10 minutes of holding a line and will either annoy the other guests or just simply won't enjoy it.

Went on this fishing excursion on Saturday morning Aug 7, 2021. Boat was clean, poles were ready and all in working order, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Maybe 5 fish were caught the entire trip out of everyone on board. On the way back one of the crew members said ‘I wouldn’t keep anything I caught here because it’s ‘dirty’ water’. If you’re looking for a fishing experience this is great as it’s just the right amount of time on the water and is family friendly. If you want to catch fish then this is not for you. My 12 year old had a good time so that’s all that matters.

After my group was picked up another couple was picked up. I was disappointed because they were picked up across the street from the condo we were staying at. My group had to take a 15 minute walk to The pick up location that they told us. We could have slept in a little bit later and had breakfast. The ride to Diamondhead was simple and quick. Once you get to the location they do you have food trucks if you want to grab food or something to drink. As we were entering we were ask for tickets. Our driver did not give us the tickets to enter the hiking trail. We called the company no one answered and we did not have the phone number to the shuttle driver. The staff at Diamondhead did not want to let us in. however after taking sympathy on as they were nice and let us in. They could have said no and we would have to have sat in front of Diamondhead for 2 1/2. If you book with this company make sure your driver gives you your blue ticket for entry into the park.

After the hike it was a madhouse because the afternoon tours were coming in and the morning tours were going out. I received a phone call and it was a new shuttle driver who was supposed to take us to our original shuttle driver because he was caught in some type of traffic. It was a tight squeeze because this new shadow was much smaller than the ones that we came in on. The drive was really nice he gave us kind of like a sightseeing tour as we were going to the drop off location. We all get out and we’re kind of just standing around waiting. He tells us that the original shuttle driver is coming (he never showed). For people decided not to continue on with the second hike. So the shuttle driver said that instead of us waiting he could take us now because it was a smaller group. This isn’t their first time doing these tour so I would have expected things to run a lot smoother. I do recommend shopping around for different tour companies.

My first time out on the ocean and it was great. We caught a 40 pound Maui Maui. The crew were Brewski and Darren they were great. Very personable and knowledgeable. They cut up all the fish and decided amongst all the passengers.

Talk about a workout! It was awesome and well worth it although I am still sore! The driver was punctual and hilarious! I would definitely do this tour again with this company and recommend it to anyone seeking a workout with breathtaking views!

We set sail with a total of four people, including two pairs and two European travelers.

During the first hour, we went near Diamond Head and watched as the two crew members caught about ten small fish for trolling.

When it came time for trolling, we went on an eight-hour cruise and managed to catch two fish: a mahi-mahi and a tuna. However, we drew numbers from 1 to 4 with a deck of cards to determine the order of fishing, and since we drew numbers 3 and 4, we didn't get our turn to reel in the fish. It seems that there are days when no fish are caught at all, so if the chances of catching fish are low given the number of people on board, I think it would be fairer to have a team competition or to take turns sharing one fish among the four of us.

We accepted our bad luck, but the European travelers who were reeling in the mahi-mahi and tuna for about ten minutes seemed to be having a great time, and I believe it was worth just over 20,000 yen. Unfortunately, we ended up with a high cruising fee without getting to hold a fishing rod.

私たちペアのほかに2名ヨーロッパ旅行者が2名の合計で4名で出港しました。
最初の一時間はダイヤモンドヘッド近くまで行き、船員2名でトローリング用のあじ？小魚を10匹ほど釣ったのを見てました。
いざトローリング、8時間のクルージングでマヒマヒとマグロの計2匹が釣れましたが最初にトランプで1～4の番号をひき、竿をひく順番を決め、我々は３・４番をひいたので魚の竿をまく順番が回ってきませんでした。一日に全く釣れないこともあるようなので、乗船人数分魚が釣れる可能性が少ないのであればせめてペアのチーム戦にするとか1匹を4人で交代するとか参加者に平等性が欲しいと思いました。運がなかったと諦めましたが、マヒマヒとマグロを約10分かけて引き揚げていたヨーロッパ旅行者は楽しそうで2万ちょっとの価値もあったと思いますが、竿を握れなかった私たちは高いクルージング代で終わりました。

About three years ago, I participated in this tour, and at that time, there were evening departures that felt like a sunset cruise, even if we didn't catch anything. The dock was close to Waikiki, and the captain and staff (his wife?) were efficient, so we didn't have to wait long before setting off. Our group was the only one with Japanese participants. Even though I hardly understood any English, I managed just fine.

We participated as a group of four, and three of us caught a fish called Kawahagi. It seemed like most others didn't catch anything. They provide fishing rods, but it looks like bringing your own is okay; an American boy brought his own rod. My son and I became good rivals, which added to the fun. My 10-year-old son caught three fish and was very pleased when the captain called him the "BEST FISHER." It seemed like his rival caught a bigger fish that wasn't a Kawahagi and was smiling happily.

If the fish were small, they were released. The larger ones were seasoned with flavored salt and grilled for us, but it seemed like those who didn't catch anything were hesitant to eat. Recently, it seems like the number of operating days has decreased, and I hope they don't stop. Although quite some time has passed, I decided to share my experience. This time, if it weren't for COVID-19, I was planning to join this optional tour again, so I feel very disappointed that I have to give up. Next time I go to Hawaii, I will participate again.

３年くらい前に参加したので、そのころは夕方出発があり、釣れなくてもサンセットクルーズみたいでした。船着き場がワイキキに近く、キャプテンやスタッフ（奥さん？）の手際よくて出航まであまり待たずに出発。日本人は私たちのグループだけでした。ほとんど英語がわからなくても何とかなりました。

４人で参加して３人はカワハギがつれました。ほかの方はほとんど釣れてないようでした。
釣り竿は貸してくれますが持ち込みOKのようで、アメリカ人の男の子はMY竿持参でした。息子とは好敵手となりそれもまた楽しめました。
１０歳の息子が３匹釣ってキャプテンから「BEST　FISHER」と言われご満悦でした。息子のライバル君はカワハギではない大きい魚を釣ったようでにこにこしていました。

釣った魚はサイズが小さいとリリース。大きいものはフレーバーソルトで味付けして焼いてくれましたが釣れなかった方たちは遠慮して食べてなかったみたいでした。
最近、催行日が減ったようで、やめないでほしいなと思い、かなり日が経ちましたが体験談を投稿しました。
今回、新型コロナがなければ、またこのオプショナルツアーに参加しようと思っていたのであきらめざる負えず残念な気持ちでいっぱいです。
次回、ハワイに行ったらまた参加します。

I caught a blue marlin (swordfish).

I think even beginners can enjoy it if they can understand English through gestures.

Since we were trolling with lures from the boat, it was all about luck. Until you get a hit, you can enjoy cruising on the boat.

Once I hooked it, it was a 15 to 20-minute battle with an 80 kg swordfish.

Mental and physical strength are essential, but it was great.

The homemade swordfish poke that the captain made from the catch two days ago was also the best.

Motion sickness medication is a must.

ブルーマーリン(カジキマグロ)を釣れました

初心者でも身振り手振りで英語が理解できれば楽しめると思います。

ヒットしてからは80kgのカジキと15～20分の格闘でした。

気力と体力は必須ですが
良かったです

2日前の獲物で作ってくれた船長自家製のカジキのポケも最高でした

While cruising towards Diamond Head, we were able to enjoy beautiful scenery, and we were thrilled to see a sea turtle up close. Our group didn’t catch any fish, but they prepared and grilled the fish caught by others right there, and it was very delicious!

The only downside was that even though we arrived before the meeting time, we had to wait over 30 minutes before departing, which felt like a waste of precious morning time. I wonder if this laid-back attitude is just a characteristic of the country...

I would love to use this service again if the opportunity arises.

クルージングではダイヤモンドヘッドに向かいながらキレイな景色を堪能できて途中ウミガメ出現で近くまで寄せてもらいとても楽しめました。私達グループは釣れなかったけど他の方の釣れた魚をその場で捌いてくれてグリルして皆で食べさせて頂き、とても美味しかったです〜
残念だったのは集合時間前に行ってたのに30分以上も待たされてからの出航だったので朝の貴重な時間が勿体なかったです。アバウトなのは国独特の性質なのかな…
またの機会があれば利用したいです。

I didn't catch anything at all, and the equipment and tackle were at a toy level. The location was also close to the port, so it didn't require much effort.

With just a quick money-making scheme, there's no way repeat customers will come back.

The captain was a local, and since my father doesn't understand English, he was very anxious, but the captain was friendly and accommodating, and he returned very satisfied!
He talked about how tired he was and how heavy it was, with a very happy expression on his face!

It was fishing while moving around. There was a lot of sandy ground, and the signs of life were low.

It would be quite difficult unless more bait is spread out.

The pickup took quite a while. We waited for 40 minutes, and to be honest, we were worried if it would even come. We only caught one fish, and the fishing gear was quite old, with squid being the only bait available. There were about three people on the same tour with us. There was no instruction on how to fish, so I guess only experienced people could catch anything? But I can only say that the crew's cheerfulness and the location were absolutely fantastic!

釣果は1匹、、釣り具も年季もの、エサはイカのみです。
同じツアーで連れていたのは3人くらい？でしょうか。
釣り方もレクチャーはないので経験豊かな人しか釣れないのかな？
でもクルーの陽気さとロケーションは最高としか言えません！

Despite the voucher confirming a pickup at 7:25 AM in front of the hotel, I received a phone call in English just before leaving my room on the morning of the event, stating, "The pickup has been canceled, so you need to get a taxi on your own and come to the meeting point." I also had to cover the taxi fare. The sudden change communicated in English caused me to panic, and with an unstable Wi-Fi connection and no Uber account, I struggled to communicate the meeting location clearly to the taxi driver I managed to flag down in front of the hotel. I got lost in the harbor as well, and the taxi fare ended up being over $20. I felt deceived. The catch was decent, but the fishing gear was quite old and in poor condition, though I was glad to catch something. If it weren't for the last-minute change in transportation, I would have been nearly completely satisfied. I was really disappointed by the abrupt change. I recommend being prepared for self-arrival in case of transportation changes (confirming the meeting location clearly, having taxi fare, and having the Uber app ready) instead of relying solely on the provided transportation.

予約確定後のバウチャーに｢滞在ホテル前で7時25分にピックアップ」と記載されていたにも関わらず、当日の朝、部屋を出る直前に、ホテルの部屋電話に、「ピックアップは無くなったから、自力でタクシーを拾って、集合場所まで来て」という英語での電話を受けた。タクシー代もこちらもち。いきなりの英語での電話による変更で、パニクる上、wifi状態も不安定で、Uberも未登録だったため、ホテル前で待機のタクシーを拾って、その運転手に、集合場所を明確に知らせるのに、とても苦労した。ハーバー内でも、迷って、タクシー代金も20ドル以上した。騙された気分。釣果はまあまあ。釣具はかなりの年季物で傷みがひどいが、釣れたから良し。送迎間際の送迎変更さえなければ、ほぼ大満足。出鼻を挫かれ、ホントにガッカリ。送迎があると安心せず、自力で集合する場合の備え(明確な集合位置確認、タクシー代、Uberアプリ等)をお薦めする。

Unfortunately, we didn't catch anything, but the local captain was full of humor, making it a fun memory. There were no safety issues either.

My husband and I had a great time fishing on the Maggie Joe. The crew worked hard to try and ensure everyone on the boat caught some fish. They were very professional, helpful and fun. This was my first time deep sea fishing and I caught a nice mahi mahi...it was a blast!

This time in Hawaii, I had a 4-night, 6-day plan on Oahu. On the last day, my wife went shopping while I joined a fishing trip alone. The shuttle bus picked me up alone and arrived at the boarding area about five minutes late. Once on board, there were already about 20 guests settled in various spots. I was the only Japanese person, and the rest seemed to be local Hawaiians and Americans. Everyone, including the crew, was cheerful, and they handed me a paper cup saying, "Hey! This is a snack!" Upon closer inspection, I saw that it contained large pieces of squid cut into rings for bait. While fishing with a view of Diamond Head, I suddenly felt a big tug. Everyone exclaimed, "Oh!" The cheerful American, without me asking, grabbed the fish and removed the hook. He posed for a photo looking quite satisfied as if he had caught it himself. For someone like me who often goes fishing in Japan, it felt a bit intrusive.

Still, both the guests and the crew were very friendly, and I had a great time chatting about fishing with those around me. One slightly disappointing thing was that although it was supposed to include "shuttle service," no one came to pick me up for the return trip, so I had to make my own way back to the hotel. (That wouldn't happen in Japan.)

今回のハワイは、オアフ島に4泊6日の予定で、最後の日、ワイフはショッピング、私は一人で釣りに参加した。迎えのバスは私１人で、５分ほど遅れて乗船場に着いた。乗り込むと、既に２０人ほどの客が思い思いの場所を陣取っていた。日本人は私一人だけで、現地のハワイアンとアメリカンの様でした。クルーを含めてみんな陽気な人たちばかりでヘイ―！これスナックだ！と紙コップを渡してくれた。よく見るとその中にはイカを輪切りにした大きな餌が入っていた。ダイアモンドヘッドを見ながら釣りをしていたら突然大きな手ごたえがあった。みんなオーと歓声が上がった。陽気なアメリカンは頼みもしないのに、魚をつかみ針を外してくれた。いかにも自分が釣り上げたかのように満足そうに写真に納まっていた。日本では、よく釣りに行く私にとって、ちょっとおせっかいだな～。
それでも、客もクルーもとても気さくで、周りの人たちと、釣りの話で盛り上がり、とても楽しかった。ちょっと残念なことは〝送迎付き”のはずなのに
帰りは迎えが来ず、自分でホテルに帰った。（日本ではありえないよ）

We had a great driver, he was awesome, very friendly, really informative and very punctual . Was a great service and made our life easy getting to Diamond Head and back to our Hotel

You are pretty much just paying for a ride there. It is a very pretty hike, I would make sure to wear shoes with traction as it does get pretty slippery towards the top. Q lot of good picture spots.
