Talk about a workout! It was awesome and well worth it although I am still sore! The driver was punctual and hilarious! I would definitely do this tour again with this company and recommend it to anyone seeking a workout with breathtaking views!

We set sail with a total of four people, including two pairs and two European travelers.

During the first hour, we went near Diamond Head and watched as the two crew members caught about ten small fish for trolling.

When it came time for trolling, we went on an eight-hour cruise and managed to catch two fish: a mahi-mahi and a tuna. However, we drew numbers from 1 to 4 with a deck of cards to determine the order of fishing, and since we drew numbers 3 and 4, we didn't get our turn to reel in the fish. It seems that there are days when no fish are caught at all, so if the chances of catching fish are low given the number of people on board, I think it would be fairer to have a team competition or to take turns sharing one fish among the four of us.

We accepted our bad luck, but the European travelers who were reeling in the mahi-mahi and tuna for about ten minutes seemed to be having a great time, and I believe it was worth just over 20,000 yen. Unfortunately, we ended up with a high cruising fee without getting to hold a fishing rod.

釣った魚はサイズが小さいとリリース。大きいものはフレーバーソルトで味付けして焼いてくれましたが釣れなかった方たちは遠慮して食べてなかったみたいでした。
最近、催行日が減ったようで、やめないでほしいなと思い、かなり日が経ちましたが体験談を投稿しました。
今回、新型コロナがなければ、またこのオプショナルツアーに参加しようと思っていたのであきらめざる負えず残念な気持ちでいっぱいです。

While cruising towards Diamond Head, we were able to enjoy beautiful scenery, and we were thrilled to see a sea turtle up close. Our group didn’t catch any fish, but they prepared and grilled the fish caught by others right there, and it was very delicious!

The only downside was that even though we arrived before the meeting time, we had to wait over 30 minutes before departing, which felt like a waste of precious morning time. I wonder if this laid-back attitude is just a characteristic of the country...

I would love to use this service again if the opportunity arises.

We only caught one fish, and the fishing gear was quite old, with squid being the only bait available. There were about three people on the same tour with us. I got lost in the harbor as well, and the taxi fare ended up being over $20. I felt deceived. The catch was decent, but the fishing gear was quite old and in poor condition, though I was glad to catch something. If it weren't for the last-minute change in transportation, I would have been nearly completely satisfied. I was really disappointed by the abrupt change. I recommend being prepared for self-arrival in case of transportation changes (confirming the meeting location clearly, having taxi fare, and having the Uber app ready) instead of relying solely on the provided transportation.

This time in Hawaii, I had a 4-night, 6-day plan on Oahu. On the last day, my wife went shopping while I joined a fishing trip alone. The shuttle bus picked me up alone and arrived at the boarding area about five minutes late. Once on board, there were already about 20 guests settled in various spots. I was the only Japanese person, and the rest seemed to be local Hawaiians and Americans. Everyone, including the crew, was cheerful, and they handed me a paper cup saying, "Hey! This is a snack!" Upon closer inspection, I saw that it contained large pieces of squid cut into rings for bait. While fishing with a view of Diamond Head, I suddenly felt a big tug. Everyone exclaimed, "Oh!" You are pretty much just paying for a ride there. It is a very pretty hike, I would make sure to wear shoes with traction as it does get pretty slippery towards the top. Q lot of good picture spots.

In Japan, I often go fishing, so I participated with my 18-year-old son and father. It was convenient since the meeting place was just a stone's throw away from the hotel. However, everyone gathered an hour later than scheduled. I think they should reconsider the timing. My son, who had never experienced seasickness even when riding fishing boats in Japan, got seasick for the first time. The boat was quite rocky, and I apologize to the guide for the concern. However, the person who helped us the most was a foreign lady who was on the boat with us. She gave me seasickness medication (which wasn't very effective) and offered advice and care, for which I am truly grateful. I learned that I shouldn't underestimate the waves overseas, so next time I will prepare stronger seasickness medication. There were some people who caught big fish on the tour, so it was quite good overall. However, the minimum number of participants for the tour is 15, and there were delays in confirming the tour. It was unclear whether the delay was due to the local tour's response or the Japanese tour agency's response, and the decision to hold the tour was made at the very last minute, which was quite nerve-wracking.

日本でも、釣りはよく行くので、18歳の息子と父親の二人で参加。集合場所と目と鼻の先のホテルだったから楽ちんでした。しかし、全員が揃ったのは1時間後。時間設定を見直すべきと思います。かつて、日本で漁船に乗っても一度も船酔いをしなかった息子が、初めての船酔い。かなり揺れて、ガイドさんには、ご心配をお掛けしました。しかし一番お世話になったのは、一緒に乗船したお客の外人のおばちゃんで、船酔い薬(実際の効きはイマイチでした)を頂いたり、アドバイスやその他親身にいろいろ気遣っていただき本当にお世話になりました。海外の波は甘んじてはいけないと次回は強力な酔い止めを、用意します。ツアーは、大物を釣っていた方もいて、なかなか良かったのでは？しかし開催最低人数が15名以上で、なかなか確定の連絡来なかったり、催行可能なのに、返事が遅く、そこは、現地ツアーの回答がおそいのか、日本のツアー代理店がおそいのか、開催決定本当にギリギリでハラハラしました。

I thought it was a cruiser around 11.5 to 12 meters, but it was just under 7 meters. I expected to have a bit of a serious fishing experience, but I ended up not even touching the fishing rod. The family of three that came with us put their catch back on the floor of the boat, and there was a smell; it was pretty bad. Next time, I hope they create a more advanced and serious tour. Thank you. However, for small children, the fun of a rocking boat and catching small fish could become a memorable experience.

We only caught one fish, but we enjoyed the experience enough while cruising and admiring Diamond Head. By the way, there were others around us who caught two or three fish or more.

If I have the chance to go to Hawaii again, I would love to participate again.

Great & affordable shuttle to Diamond Head! The shuttle is very clean, comfortable and reliable.We were picked-up on time, the driver gave us instructions, a map and a bottle of water. The great thing about this tour is that you can walk at your own pace. The hike itself is easy, however towards the end there are some stairs. Walking through a lava tube was really cool. During the hike there are many lookout places with beautiful views of Oahu's south shore. You can see Waikiki, the mountains, downtown Honolulu & Koko Head from a distance and taking a lot of pictures. It was a great way to start my day. Thank you Kaimana Tours for such a great service and for taking me to one of Honolulu's top attractions, it's not everyday that you can tell your friends that your hiked am ancient volcano. I love Hawaii =)

Family fun!!...at Diamond Head!

I decided to take my entire family on a hike just to experience it and since we did not have a car rental planned, we decided to book a shuttle with Kaimana Tours! I was even more excited that they allowed us to bring my toddler (2 years old) as a lap child as long as we have a baby carrier, free of charge!

We were picked up by van on time directly from our hotel. The driver was very nice and friendly! The hike to the top was not too bad at all, even my girls enjoyed it (ages 8 & 10). Most of us are beginner hikers and the best part, the view of Waikiki was just breathtaking! I would definitely book Kaimana Tours again next time we visit! maybe go to Manoa Falls or Makapuu Point next time!! I will for sure recommend this to family and friends!

Easy and no hassle transport from Waikiki to Diamond Head. On time pick up, drops off at the visitors centre so you don’t have to walk from the bus stop. Good banter and information given by driver. Made the experience more enjoyable having a quick and convenient way to get to and from the hike location.
