I signed up for a horseback riding experience in Hawaii for my honeymoon, something I had been interested in for a long time. I was really looking forward to it, but when it came time to ride, I felt a bit nervous. After all, once you get on the horse, you have to control it mostly by yourself.

However, that thought quickly faded. The well-trained horses (I rode one named Scarlet) followed the lead horse closely unless something unusual happened.

I enjoyed the various scenery, including grazing cattle, the ocean spread out below, and caves, while spending time with the free-spirited horses that occasionally grazed or shook their bodies. The hour flew by.

Although it was a short time, the horses moved differently depending on their personalities, creating a soothing experience that was different from just looking at the ocean.

A couple of points to note are access and clothing. First, regarding access: it's located away from Waikiki, so I think many people go by rental car. We headed there via the North Shore, but we encountered traffic near the beach along the way, which took longer than expected. I recommend allowing extra time for arrival.

As for clothing, there was a sudden rain during the experience. My husband and I were wearing long sleeves, so it didn't affect us much, but those in short sleeves looked a bit cold. This might be common for outdoor activities, but I think it's good to be prepared for changes in weather.

In any case, we had a wonderful time. I recommend this for anyone who wants to enjoy a side of Hawaii beyond just the beach.

大変楽しみにしていたのですが、いざ乗る時には少し緊張。何せ、馬にまたがったあとはほぼ、自分で馬をコントロールしなければなりません。
と、思ったのも束の間。
しっかり調教された馬（私はスカーレット、という子に乗りました）たち、よほどのことがない限り、
先頭のガイド馬に、ピッタリ着いて歩いてくれました。

放牧された牛たちや眼下に広がる海、洞窟などの様々な景色と、時折草を食べたり体を震わせたりする自由な馬との時間を楽しみながら、あっという間の1時間でした。

短い時間ではありましたが、それぞれの馬の性格によって動き方も変わり、海を眺めているのとは違った癒しの時間となりました。

注意ポイントは、アクセスと服装。
まず、アクセスについて。ワイキキから離れた場所にありますので、レンタカーで行かれる方が多いかと思います。私たちはノース経由で向かったのですが、途中のビーチ付近で渋滞が発生し、想定以上に移動に時間がかかりました。余裕を持った到着をお勧めします。
そして、服装。体験の最中に突然の雨。私たち夫婦は長袖着用だったのであまり影響を受けませんでしたが、一緒にコースを回っていた半袖の方が少し寒そうでした。屋外アクティビティでは当たり前のことかもしれませんが、天候の変化に対応できるようにしておくと良いと思います。

いずれにしても、とてもよい時間を過ごせました。ビーチだけではないハワイを楽しみたい方に、お勧めです。

I participated with a group of five women. Three of the women were on the Haleiwa sightseeing plan.

We had chosen to go horseback riding in the canyon, but unfortunately, it rained on the course beforehand, making it muddy, so it was canceled. The driver was concerned about the weather and called the horseback riding location, but since we didn't receive any notification from them, we went all the way to the riding spot. If we had known in advance, we could have avoided the car ride, which felt a bit wasteful. There was a possibility to switch to a coastal horseback riding plan if there had been availability, but unfortunately, it was fully booked that day, so we ended up with a refund.

At the Dole Plantation, we didn't have time to enter the maze. For the Haleiwa sightseeing, we were dropped off at the places we wanted to go. So, we got dropped off at the garlic shrimp place "Giovanni," which we wanted to try, and then walked to get some Huli Huli chicken. Both were quite delicious, so I recommend them to anyone going to Haleiwa, but if there is a regular horseback riding plan, time is limited, so it might be difficult to do both.

Additionally, although it wasn't part of the itinerary, perhaps because we couldn't go horseback riding due to the rain, we were taken to a soap factory. I apologize for writing about it even though they said, "This is a place we normally don't stop at, so keep it a secret!!" There were a lot of other tour guests, so we couldn't look around too slowly, but it was a place I wanted to visit, so I was glad we went. Next to it, there is also the Waialua Coffee Factory.

The driver was Japanese and shared various information while driving, which made the experience very enjoyable. Since he was speaking through a microphone, it might be tough for those who are not good at conversation... On the way back, he kindly suggested we rest since it was early in the morning and we must be tired, and he drove us close to the meeting point without talking, so everyone slept soundly on the way back.

Overall, I was satisfied, but since I was really looking forward to horseback riding, I lowered my rating a bit. I definitely want to go horseback riding next time!!!

海岸乗馬のプランに空きがあれば振り替えもあったそうですが、その日はあいにくいっぱいだったようで、返金という流れになりました。

ハレイワ観光は、行きたい場所で下してくれました。
なので、食べたかったガーリックシュリンプのお店「ジョバンニ」でおろしてもらって、歩いて移動してフリフリチキンも食べました。
どちらもかなり美味しかったので、ハレイワ観光に行く方はおすすめですが、通常の乗馬プランがある場合は、時間が限られるため、どちらかに絞らないと難しいかなと思います。

その他、コース行程にはありませんでしたが、雨で乗馬ができなかったからか、ソープファクトリーにも立ち寄ってくださいました。
「本来寄らないところなのでナイショですよ！！」って言われたのに書いてごめんなさい(笑)
他のツアー客でごったがえしていて、あまりゆっくり見れなかったけど、行ってみたかったところなので、よかったです♪
隣にはワイアルアコーヒー ファクトリーもあります。

ドライバーさんは日本人の方で、運転しながら色々教えてくれたりして、とても楽しく過ごせました。
マイクを通してお話されていることもあり、お話が苦手な方にはつらいかな・・・
帰りは朝早かったから疲れているだろうからと、休んでください。と何もお話ししないで集合場所近くまで送っていただいたので、みんなぐっすり眠って帰りました。

トータルは満足ですが、乗馬をとっても楽しみにしていたので、その分★が下がりました。
次は絶対乗馬したいです！！！

I participated with two friends. As everyone mentioned in their reviews, it was an incredibly valuable experience! Joining was definitely the right decision.
The flow was as follows: hotel pickup → a lecture (in English) where they only played a video for about 30 minutes, which felt almost pointless → waiting time (about 2 hours? Free time on benches, so bring something to do or it can get boring) → called by name for preparation → boarding the plane → dive!! → tips are not given directly to the instructor but placed in a tip box → waited until everyone who came on the bus with us finished → returned home together.
The instructors had different approaches; out of the three of us, two got to control the parachute, and one of them even got to spin around!

友人２人と参加させて頂きました。感想はみなさんのレビュー通り、非常に貴重な経験をさせて頂きました☆参加して大正解でした。
流れとしては、ホテル迎え→講習（英語）でビデオを流すのみ…あってないようなもの３０分→待機時間（２時間程？ベンチ等で自由時間…何か持っていかないと暇です）→名前をアナウンスで呼ばれて準備→飛行機乗り込み→ダイブ！！→チップはインストラクターに渡すのではなく、チップの箱に入れる→一緒にバスに乗ってきた方が終わるまで待機→みんなで帰路。
インストラクターの方によって対応が違い、３人中２人はパラシュートの操縦をさせて頂き、その内の１人はグルグル回って頂けたそうですｗｗ

This was an awesome experience. I had done the shark cage before, but I never thought that I'd be able to swim with the sharks without cage. I was a bit skeptical about the safety, but once I was in the water, I didn't feel threatened at all. It was just a calm and relaxing experience, and the sharks were not interested in humans at all. The sharks we saw were mostly Sandbar Sharks and Galapagos Sharks, and they only eat fish. They were more attracted to the sound/vibration of the boat engine. So the guide instructed us to stay away from the boat, and we stayed together as a group. We only have a group of 5 with 1 guide and 1 photographer in the water, so the experience was very intimate.

I highly recommend this activity to anyone, and really observe the sharks in their environment. Forget about Shark Weeks, Jaws, etc., and go see them with their own eyes so you can cure people's misconception about these beautiful creatures.

I visited Haleiwa before, but at that time, I only walked around the town and didn't have any special activities. This time, I participated because there was a plan for horseback riding, which my wife loves, and it included a coastal exploration. The horseback riding along the beach was fantastic, walking through places you wouldn't normally step into, with beautiful scenery and a refreshing sea breeze—it was the best time ever. I think I might join again next year!

I thought this would be like a small Disneyland. It was, but in many ways so much better. We were greeted by helpful and enthusiastic young people who pointed us in the right direction. The staff consists of college kids who come from a variety of Pacific islands. We visited five of the six "villages", watching a show/demo at each. There were several performers but, at each, one mature person engaged the audience. They were descendants of that culture who told us fascinating stories and were often very funny. We took a boat ride down the river before watching the 15-minute movie "Hawaiian Journey." It's billed as a "breathtaking journey for the senses" and it was. Few people seemed to notice that there were speakers in the headrest of each chair. The music and sounds made me feel as if I were actually traveling through the beauty of Hawaii. Our ticket included dinner, which was good. The highlight of the day for me was the show afterwards: "Ha--Breath of life." It was amazing... and breathtaking; definitely on a par with Cirque du Soleil. The performances, set, lighting and choreography were amazing. They even served ice cream during the 10-minute intermission! It was a wonderful experience that gave me a better appreciation for the Polynesian people and their cultures.

It was incredibly beautiful! I was really excited and looking forward to getting on the Cessna, but as we ascended, I started shaking from fear! (laughs) However, the instructors inside the Cessna were very lively, perhaps to ease our nerves? (laughs) It made me feel much better! Once we reached the planned altitude, we just took off one after another without any hesitation, which was great! (laughs)

I highly recommend skydiving in Hawaii for the breathtaking views that you can't see in Japan, and it's affordable too!

I think it's better to wear long pants just in case you might fall when landing.

The mysterious wait time for the return shuttle was really long, and over there, it was mostly English, so just be aware of that!

We participated as a couple.
First, we went to the Dole Plantation. At the entrance, the guide took photos of each group! They recommended some ice cream, but since we weren't hungry, I plan to try it next time.

Next, we went to a beach where we could see sea turtles. The turtles weren't on the sandy beach, and we ended up just watching the ones swimming until our time was up.

In Haleiwa, I had planned to eat garlic shrimp from Macky's, but the bus dropped us off quite far from the restaurant, and due to time constraints, we had to give up on that. I was really looking forward to going there when we visited the North Shore, so it was very disappointing. Instead, we ate at a Japanese-owned restaurant called CAMARON, which the guide recommended, but honestly, the garlic shrimp I had around the hotel on another day was better. The service of having shrimp with shells for an extra dollar was convenient and nice. It was very Japanese-style service. After that, we had Huli Huli chicken, which was delicious.

The horseback riding experience was different from what you might find in Japan, where an attendant is always right next to you. After getting on the horse, I was allowed to walk on my own. My horse (Nioi) was very smart; when the horse in front stopped, it would eat grass, but it followed along nicely when the other horse moved, so I didn't have to steer at all. My husband's horse (Rio) seemed to have a hard time as it wandered off to eat grass. It seemed to vary a lot depending on the horse assigned. The beachside ride was pleasant and very enjoyable.

Since we had some extra time, the guide took us to see a rock with a hole in it in Laie and to a macadamia nut factory, which wasn't on the original itinerary! Thank you to our guide.

続いて海亀の見えるビーチへ行きました。亀は砂浜にはおらず、泳いでいる亀を見て時間終了してしまいました。

ハレイワの街では、マッキーズのガーリックシュリンプを食べるつもりでいたのですが、バスで降ろされた場所がお店から距離があり、時間的に厳しかった為断念しました。
ノースショアに行ったら絶対行きたいと思っていただけにとても残念でした。代わりにガイドさんがオススメしてくれた日本人経営のCAMARONという店で食べましたが、正直別日にホテル周辺で食べたガーリックシュリンプの方が美味しかった。プラス1ドルでエビの殻付きのサービスがあったのは食べやすくて良かったです。日本人らしいサービスですね。それからフリフリチキンを食べました。こちらは美味しかったです。

乗馬体験は、日本でできるような係の人が常に隣にぴったり付いてるような乗馬と違い、馬に載せてもらった後は、1人で歩かせてくれます。私の馬（ニオイ）はとてもお利口で、前の馬が止まると草を食べたりしていましたが、前が進むとしっかり付いて歩いてくれたので、全く操縦をすることがなかったです。主人の馬（リオ）は草を食べに寄り道して、大変そうでした。担当する馬によって全然違うみたいでした。乗馬での海辺散歩は気持ちよくてとても楽しかったです。

時間に余裕があったので、予定されているスポットとは別に、ぽっかり穴が空いた岩があるライエや、マカデミアナッツ工場へ連れて行ってくれました！ガイドさんありがとうございました。

My first skydiving experience! It was a cloudy day, and I was anxious about the long wait and whether I would actually get to jump, but somehow I was able to take the plunge about two and a half hours after arriving. I was extremely nervous leading up to the jump, but once I was in the air, it felt amazing and was over in no time. It was so much fun! There were a lot of handsome instructors, which was a nice bonus (laughs).

We were able to ride along the beautiful North Shore coastline and had a wonderful time.

Skydiving was an incredible experience! I think it will be an unforgettable moment in my life. The instructor was very kind, and from the pickup at 5:20 AM to arriving back at the hotel around 9:30 AM, there was almost no waiting time for skydiving, which made it very efficient.
However, I have one complaint. The fee for my wife, who accompanied me as a spectator, was about 5,400 yen, which I think is too high. If they are going to charge that much, I believe they should at least include drinks or light snacks, but there was absolutely no service provided.
If they enhance the services for accompanying guests, I think it could become an even better shop. Overall, though, I received satisfactory service, so I definitely recommend that those who are hesitant give it a try!

スカイダイビングは最高の気分を味わえました！人生で忘れられない経験になると思います。インストラクターも親切に対応してくれたし、朝5時20分の迎えから、終わってホテルに着いたのが9時30分頃でスカイダイビングの待ち時間もほとんど無く、スピーディーでした。

We visited on our honeymoon.
In the morning, we toured selected spots on the island with a fun guide, allowing us to see various aspects of Oahu.
At a shopping center along the way, we were able to see many beautiful Hawaiian jewelry pieces, which made my wife very happy.
The Polynesian Cultural Center offered various shows and experiences, and we enjoyed learning about the culture.
The evening show was spectacular.
This is definitely a place we want to visit again when we come back to Hawaii.

Before the horseback riding, I received a lecture on how to ride from a Japanese driver, which helped me understand the instructor's English during the actual riding session. At first, I was very nervous, so I couldn't really enjoy the scenery around me, and I was desperately trying to prevent the horse from eating grass nearby (I had to pull the reins to stop it!). However, as I got used to it, I was able to enjoy the magnificent nature while moving with the horse.

I’m not good at English at all, but I thought I could manage by watching the people around me, so I gave it a try. Everyone except me was a foreigner, and the explanations were all in English.

At one point, I was told to grab the red cord when I reached the goal. If I didn’t, I would be pulled back like in bungee jumping and wouldn’t be able to return. The instructor worked hard to help me, but I ended up in tears… However, it was so much fun that I want to do it again!

I'm someone who can hardly ride thrill rides, but I decided to try skydiving, thinking it might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The moment I jumped out of the plane was terrifying! However, when I opened my eyes, I saw beautiful ocean, sky, and mountains! I forgot my fear and enjoyed the scenery, thinking I had to remember it all.

Since I was on my honeymoon, it was quite expensive, but I purchased both photos and videos! Afterward, we checked the images and laughed at each other's pictures (laughs). I'm glad we made such fun memories!

I recommend bringing a long-sleeve shirt! It was hot when we were falling because the sun was so close, but it felt cold up in the air even with long sleeves.

絶叫系のアトラクションにほぼ乗れない私ですが、一生に一回しか出来ないかもしれないと思いスカイダイビングに挑戦しました。
飛行機から落ちてすぐまでは怖い！しかなかったですが目を開けてみたら綺麗な海！空！山！目に焼き付けないとと怖さも忘れて景色を楽しめました。

We were picked up at our hotel in Hawaii at 5:30 AM! From there, it took about an hour to get to the North Shore, where we switched to a boat and listened to an explanation. Since there was no Japanese guide, I could only catch bits and pieces. They lent us goggles, and we entered the cage to be among the sharks. The sharks were quite calm and swam around us leisurely. They seemed to be fed regularly, so they were pretty docile. But still, they were sharks!! It was quite impressive! I had an incident where the goggles didn't fit well, and seawater got into my nose, causing a nosebleed, but overall, I think I enjoyed it! If you're prone to seasickness, I recommend being prepared. I think this is an experience you can only have in Hawaii, so definitely consider joining the tour!

This time, I participated with my 61-year-old mother and 33-year-old daughter (myself). The activity is a meet-up at the location, but it's far from Waikiki, so if you don't have a rental car, you'll need to take a taxi or find another way to get there. I drove the rental car for about 50 minutes, as there was some traffic along the way. The road at the end is an unpaved gravel road, and since there are no signs along the way, it can be a bit unsettling.

As for the horseback riding, at our 9 AM reservation, there were five other customers (two groups of two and one group of one) besides us, but those five formed one group, while we were in a separate group with one instructor for the two of us. The five-person group had a photographer with them who took pictures while they moved (we did not have a photographer).

All the explanations were in English, but they taught the basic movements with gestures, so even if you don't speak English, you'll manage. Also, during the actual horseback riding, the horses are smart, so even if you don't perform the instructed movements, the horses will keep moving along, so you'll be fine as long as you're on the horse.

説明は全て英語でしたが、ジェスチャーを交えて基本の動きを教えてくれるので、英語ができなくてもなんとかなります。また、実際の乗馬中は馬が賢いので、教えてもらった動作をしなくても馬がどんどん進んでくれますので、馬に乗っていれば大丈夫です。

1時間のコースですが、森の中や海が見える場所に行ったりと、ハワイの自然を満喫する事ができました。
欲を言えば、馬のスピードがもう少しあるとより楽しかったかなと思いますが、総合評価は満足でした。

I had wanted to try this for a long time, and this was my first time participating! Our group met at 8:30 AM, and we started at 9. We drove there with a rental car. After arriving, we managed to check the consent form at the check-in monitor, put our wallets in the safe box for valuables, checked our bags at the luggage counter, and took care of the restroom. I hung my phone around my neck because I wanted to take pictures. Then, we were fitted with harnesses for sliding, put on helmets, and waited for the time to start. There were seven participants, including us, all from the mainland United States, along with three staff members. The staff were all friendly and attentive, checking in on us even though we didn't speak English, using gestures and confirming our understanding, which made us feel at ease during the experience! We practiced on a short course first, and then moved on to the next location by jeep. During the ride, they talked about various plants on the farm. We slid down seven courses, changing our positions and eating bananas and tomatoes along the way! It felt amazing! When they asked if it was good in Japanese, I replied, "イイネ!" (Good!). I was worried because I’m a bit overweight and not very fit besides my lack of English, but there was a course where we had to climb with a rope, and even though it was a short distance, I felt exhausted and thought, "I can't do this!" When I called out for help, they laughed and came to assist me! It was so much fun! I bought a T-shirt and a few photos, and received the photos via email by lunchtime! The price was a bit high, but the pictures turned out great! I want to do it again!
