I think it's better to go after you've adjusted to the time difference, as it requires quite a bit of physical energy. On the way back on the trolley, I spoke with the person sitting next to me, and they mentioned that around December, if the weather is good, it's not too hot, making it perfect for snorkeling. However, the instructor said that during that time, the weather can be unpredictable, and just last week, they were shivering while getting into the water. We were fortunate to have good weather.

As expected from Hanauma Bay, where regulations are well established, the number of fish was incredible. I've snorkeled several times in the beautiful waters of Okinawa, but it doesn't compare. Hanauma Bay is full of colorful fish whose names I don't know, including the Yagara. Unfortunately, I didn't encounter any sea turtles, but it's definitely a place I want to visit again. I hope to go before I get too old. Since I'm not very good at English, I really appreciated the guidance in Japanese. It allowed me to focus on observing the fish with peace of mind.

We loved snorkeling at Hanauma Bay! We could see fish all around us in waist-deep water, and even though it was busy, there was plenty of space to have our own experience. The food in the snack bar was good (although a little pricey), and I liked that we could rent life jackets and stoppers for our snorkels from the company once we got there. Just make sure you bring extra money for the entrance fee, tram (it saves a lot of uphill walking), equipment rental, and food. You can also bring food on the beach, so pack some snacks and water to save some cash.

Our snorkel guide Dan was amazing. I can't swim and he was able to take me out to the deep! He was very patient. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed his tour of hanauma bay, it was definitely a highlight of our trip and even fulfilled one of my bucket list things to do. I will never forget the experience and recommend it highly. Also a huge bonus is Dan takes underwater pics of you snorkeling and post them up on his Facebook - free of charge!

Dan and his wife were great! We had two cars because we were a party of 7. Dan was my driver and he was very good at giving us a mini tour as we were driving to Haunama Bay. Once we arrived, we didn't have to stand in line at all. We went into a mini theater to watch a 9 min video orientation. Then we were off. We went down to Hanauma Bay via a trolly. He and his wife explained how to use our gear and made sure it was all on properly. We all had a great time. This was definitely a fun activity to do as a family. The underwater views were amazing. If you don't have a waterproof camera, its fine. Dan takes a bunch of pictures and uploads them on to his website/facebook page and gives you the link, so you can view them. Don't worry if you don't know how to swim, we had a couple people in our party who didn't know how to and they were just fine. Dan, thank you. We will definitely choose you again! :) -Mahalo!

We had the best time!

My wife and I had never been snorkeling and one of the things that my wife had wanted to do for years was to swim with the dolphins. We wanted to learn how to snorkel and found this tour on Veltra. The tour was scheduled the day after we arrived in Hawaii and we received a courtesy call reminding us of the time and place for pickup. Dan was right on time and met us at the pickup place. He was cordial and interesting to talk to. Everything was arranged for us at the Bay. His instructions were easy to understand and we headed into the water. We were later joined by Dan's wife Chieko and they stayed with us the whole time. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful, colorful fish as well as the turtle swimming in the bay!

We had a very enjoyable time and recommend this tour very highly! Dan and Chieko were wonderful hosts. We are grateful for the time they spent with us (as well as others that were with the tour) as we were able to go to other beaches and snorkel.

Thanks so much Dan & Chieko. We hope to see you again!

We had never snorkeled before, but Dan and his wife were awesome! We will never forget this. We are waiting for the pictures that we took with our disposable cameras. Lots of fish. I do not like putting my head under water, but they were soooo reassuring and made you feel very comfortable. Very organized. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Unfortunately we did not see any turtles, but it was still wonderful.

Excellent for beginners...

This was my first time ever for snorkeling and I was a bit nervous. Dan, my guide, was so patient and easy going. Made it so easy to relax and learn... He helped hold my hand and guide me through the bay, saw a lot of cool water life. This was an excellent tour, I didn't have to think about anything. Was picked up at the hotel, they brought the gear, snacks, and a trunk to lock up small belongings during the snorkeling. Our guide has an excellent camera and took pictures during the tour and posted it to facebook for me to see and share. Dan is well known at the bay and knows it inside and out. Had a blast and will definitely rebook with Dan, if I ever get a chance to come back to Oahu.

We had a great time with Dan on this snorkel trip. Dan was excellent. The water was great. We saw so many different kinds of fish. I just wish we were able to see a turtle. Dan provided us with the latest snorkels so we didn't have to worry about swallowing water. Definitely recommend!

The only suggestion I would make is to wrap the admission and team fee into the activity fee. It's a bit annoying to have to pay separately.

Can't miss experience!

The highlight of our Hawaiian vacation! Dan took care of everything--getting to Hanauma Bay and geared up was super easy. (Gear was top notch.) After quick instructions we were in the water and looking at fish, turtles, etc. Our 7 yr old son is not a good swimmer but Dan's wife swam with him and helped the whole time so my husband and I were able to enjoy the experience without having to constantly focus on him. The tour was the perfect length and best part was photos waiting for us online afterwards--didn't have to lug camera around ourselves and got great momentos of trip. Highly recommend for families with kids or anyone who wants a relaxing (but exciting) snorkeling adventure.

The shuttle drivers, both to and from Hanauma Bay, were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the island. They shared interesting facts along the way and made the drive an experience in itself. Not to mention, they were very prompt and the price was unbeatable! Would definitely recommend this shuttle if you're staying in Waikiki and would like to visit a beautiful beach with amazing snorkeling!

This was the best part of my trip to Hawaii!
- Hanauma Bay is incredibly beautiful. I think it's the most beautiful spot on Oahu.
- The veteran guide takes you to great spots where you can see lots of fish.
- If you're not confident in swimming, the guide provides support, so you can feel at ease.
- The guide takes photos for you, and you can receive the data.
- They provide transportation to and from the hotel, which is super convenient.

I was truly fortunate to have such a great guide, and it was a fun snorkeling experience at Hanauma Bay! If I go to Hawaii again, I will definitely do this optional tour!

I was a bit anxious about snorkeling for the first time, but the guide (a Japanese woman and her husband) explained everything very kindly, so I was able to relax and enjoy it. Since the guide was a veteran, I was able to encounter the sea turtles I had hoped to see, as well as many other fish. Moreover, we had gone without an underwater camera and had given up on taking underwater photos, but the guide had taken some for us, which was a great help. It was also a big plus that we could enter the parking lot without waiting. I'm really glad I found this tour (the guide). If I come to Hawaii again, I plan to request them once more!

初めてのシュノーケリングで少し不安でしたが、ガイドの方(日本人女性とその旦那様)がとても親切に説明してくれたので安心して楽しむ事が出来ました。
ベテランガイドさんという事で、期待していた海ガメにも出会えましたし他にも沢山の魚を見る事が出来ました。

I used this service during Golden Week, and luckily, it turned into a completely private lesson just for our group. Our guide, Chieko, was very cheerful and kind. Both of us couldn't swim and it was our first time snorkeling, so we were quite anxious, but she explained everything carefully, which made us feel safe to enter the sea. I believe that if anyone follows her instructions, they can enjoy snorkeling.

We snorkeled for about an hour, and we didn't get tired at all. It's definitely a good idea to bring an underwater camera. I think it's also fine to bring a regular camera. You can take pictures with Hanauma Bay in the background. All valuables can be placed in the guide's box, which is locked, so it's safe.

On that day, the wind was really strong, and we couldn't go out further. The water was a bit murky, but there were still plenty of fish. It's a shame we didn't get to see any sea turtles.

The photos that Chieko took with the GoPro were available for download from Facebook.

We participated as a family of four: a couple with a 12-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. Since it was February 11, we rented wetsuits for the whole family. We started in shallow water to get a feel for things before moving to deeper areas. I think we swam quite a bit, and since our 7-year-old girl (who has snorkeling experience) was in the care of our guide, Chieko, we felt at ease. We were also able to see turtles. As mentioned, we only needed swimsuits, towels, a change of clothes, and minimal cash, which was not a problem. A camera is not necessary unless it's an underwater camera. We brought our underwater video camera, but the guide's camera took much better pictures. Our remaining cash and mobile phone were safely stored in a sturdy box, which gave us peace of mind. We had a great time, so thank you very much!

Although I had previous snorkel experience, the tour guide reviewed basic rules for snorkeling and I was given an opportunity to practice in shallow water. I really appreciated snorkeling beyond the reef because this is were I saw a turtle!

I wanted to show my wife the snorkeling experience I had at Hanauma Bay during my single days, so I participated again.

We were able to rent wetsuits on-site for a fee. The goggles and snorkels provided were not the usual worn-out ones, but rather well-maintained equipment. Thanks to that, it was a very warm and comfortable ocean adventure. I highly recommend the wetsuits.

Last time I came, I just floated in the shallow waters, but this time, our guide and instructor, Chie, who is a certified diver, took us out to deeper waters. My wife hadn't swum in a while, but since she held my hand the whole time, she was able to keep up without any issues. The fish were adorable, and I was surprised when a turtle swam right past us!

Thank you for such a dreamlike experience.

以前、独身時代に経験したハナウマ湾のシュノーケリングを奥さんにも見せたくて参加しました。
現地にてウェットスーツを有料でお借りすることが出来ました。
メガネ、シュノーケル含め、よくあるボロボロのではなく、しっかり手入れされたものをお借り出来ました。
その御蔭でとてもあたたかく、快適な海の旅でした。スーツお勧めです。

前回来た時は浅瀬でぷかぷか浮いていたものですが、ガイド兼インストラクターのチエさんはダイビングの資格をお持ちとのことで、その経験を活かして沖合の方まで連れて行ってくださいました。奥さんは泳ぎは久しぶりだったのですが、ずっと手をつないでくれていたので、問題なくついていくことが出来ました。
魚は可愛かったし、目の前を亀が通過していったのにはびっくりしました！
本当に夢の様な時間をありがとうございました。

Beautiful bay, Blue Hawaii divers a husband and wife team were great, we were picked up, accessed the bay without having to join the long line that afternoon, good clean equipment. We saw a turtle which my son swam alongside as well as lots of fish large and small. One of the best days of our trip.

Our pick up time was at 6:20am which seemed extremely early at the time but i am glad we went early because we were one of the first people in the water. The scuba instructor was patient with the first time scuba diver in our group and he was very professional and knowledgable. This tour is definitely worth the money

I had my scuba dive with Dan and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I was rather nervous about it, but he was very patient and allowed me to take my time getting accustomed to the breathing and teaching me all the basic safety procedures. The dive itself was great, saw lots of fish and a sea turtle as well. Would highly recommend this for anyone that is doing their first dive!
