What an amazing Luau!!!

I went with the Royal experience with my husband and 2 year old son. It was the first time Luau as a family. We absolutely loved it!!! The chief was very funny, and the show had a lot of audience engagements when the chief and his crews welcome audience up on the stage for dance and couple anniversaries. Food was very good and of course, the Mai Tai was amazingly tasty! Also, the activities before the show were really fun!!! My 2 year old son loved watching dances especially the last fire dance! He did not blink at all! I would totally recommend to everyone who has not experienced Luau but also to who wants more family oriented Luau experience.

When I arrived at the venue, I learned that due to the weather forecast predicting rain, the meal would be indoors. The sky didn't seem like it would rain, so my excitement dropped significantly from the start.

However, the luau became enjoyable as it progressed, and I was glad I participated. The hula dance performed solo by one of the dancers was truly beautiful! It was my first time being moved by hula. I would love to see that dancer's hula again.

The food was good. So, I decided to try breakfast at Surf Lanai later, but that was not as great...

Initially, I planned to make a reservation through the hotel’s website, but it stated that there would be no performance on the Thursday during my stay. I tried booking through Veltra, and it went smoothly. Just to be sure, I inquired and they confirmed that the hotel’s website was incorrect. I appreciated their quick response.

会場に行くと、天気予報が雨なので室内での食事との事。降りそうもない空だったので、スタートからテンションがかなり下がりました。

ただ、途中からルアウが楽しくなってきたので、参加して良かったと思いました。特にソロで踊られた方のフラダンスが本当に美しかった！ 始めてフラで感動しました。あの方のフラはもう一度観たいです。

お料理のお味は良かったです。なので、後日サーフラナイで朝食を頂いてみましたが、それはあまり…。

始めホテルのHPから予約するつもりでしたが、私が滞在中の木曜は休演と掲載されていました。試しにベルトラさんから予約をしたらすんなり完了。念のためお尋ねしたら確認を取って下さり、結局、ホテルのHPが誤っていたとの回答でした。迅速に対応頂いて助かりました。

We were blessed with great weather and enjoyed a wonderful sunset cruise. There was singing, a sunset, background music, and hula dancing. The timing was well thought out, and we fully experienced the Hawaiian atmosphere. The food, including lobster and steak, was delicious, and the waitress was cheerful and fun. Since it was a family trip, we requested three additional services, including other tours and airport transfers, and we were relieved that all pickups were on time. Thank you very much.

I was really looking forward to joining a dinner cruise with my friends, but the live music was mostly songs I didn't know, and the hula dance show had too few performers and lacked impact. Even though I rated the food as 3 stars, it wasn't very tasty, and I was truly disappointed. I really wished to see a wonderful hula dance performance, especially since it's Hawaii.

I ordered the buffet with transportation included. The food was not as delicious as I expected. Even when the portions decreased, there were no refills. The food that wasn't good was left over, and the roast beef ran out quickly. The hula dance show varies depending on the price, and the number of performers also differs. The pricing is quite honest.

This time, I went to Hawaii for the first time on a family trip. On Friday, I signed up for this tour because I heard we could see fireworks from the cruise. I chose the 3-star (lobster & steak) course with seating and photos included.

On the day of the tour, there was a pick-up service from the hotel, but when I arrived at the meeting point, there were so many people! It seemed that not only those who booked through Veltra but also those who booked through JTB and HIS were at the same meeting point. There was no explanation like "If you booked with ⚪︎⚪︎, please line up here," so I was in line (maybe I just couldn't hear because there were too many people), but it didn't seem like they were calling out names, and we weren't moving. When I asked a staff member if I was in the right line for those who booked through Veltra, they said it was fine, but eventually, I found out that line was for JTB customers, and I had to line up again in a different line.

Even though the pick-up time was 16:30, we didn't get on the bus and leave until close to 17:00, which made me worry if everything was okay, and I was already tired before we even started. I don't know if it’s always that crowded and chaotic, but if the buses are different depending on where you booked, I think it would be better to have clear signs or flags and for the staff to explain things.

When we arrived at the port and boarded the cruise, we were welcomed with music and hula dancing, which was exciting. The dinner included appetizers, lobster, steak, and dessert, but unfortunately, it didn't suit my taste. My family said it was fine. It might be a matter of personal preference. The fruits seemed to be self-serve and all-you-can-eat, but it didn't seem like they were replenished. It might be better to go get them early.

We were given tickets in advance for drinks, and we could order two. However, when I tried to order from the staff, they seemed busy, or they said they couldn't help because they were holding things in both hands, or they ignored me, making it quite difficult to place an order. It seemed like each table had a designated staff member, and I thought I could ask them, but they were often not nearby, so I didn't know who to ask.

During dinner, there was live music, creating a nice atmosphere. We also got our photos taken and placed in a nice album, which became a great memory. The weather was good, so the sunset from the cruise was very beautiful. The night view of Waikiki was also stunning and moving. During the fireworks, the cruise stopped at a good spot for viewing. However, since we were a bit far away, it wasn't very impactful. The fireworks lasted about five minutes, but I think seeing fireworks from a cruise is quite rare, so it felt luxurious.

After the fireworks, the show was impressive and very good. At the end, everyone danced in a circle, which was fun. We were also taken back to the hotel, which was convenient. ピックアップ時間が16:30だったのにバスに乗って出発したのが17:00近くだったので、大丈夫かな？と心配になったし、行く前から疲れました。
いつもあんな人が多くてごちゃごちゃしているのかわかりませんが、予約したところによってバスが違うならわかりやすく看板や旗を出したり係の人が説明したりした方がいいと思いました。
港に着いてクルージングに乗る時に演奏とフラダンス？でお出迎えがあったりワクワクしました。
ディナーは前菜、ロブスター、ステーキ、デザートでしたが残念ながら私は口に合わなかったです。
家族は普通だったと言っています。
好き嫌い分かれるかもしれません。
フルーツはセルフで食べ放題？のようでしたが追加はされてなかったような。。
早めに取りに行った方がいいかもしれません。
ドリンクは事前にチケットが配られて2杯頼めました。
スタッフの方に注文しようとしても忙しそうにしていたり、両手に持ってるから今は無理と言われたり無視されたりして頼むのに一苦労でした。
一応、テーブルごとに担当の係の方が付いてくれてるみたいで、その方に頼めばいいのかな？と思っても近くにいない事が多くて誰に注文していいのかわからなかったです。
ディナー中は生演奏がありいい雰囲気でした。
写真も撮ってもらえて立派なアルバムに入れてもらえたのでいい思い出になりました。
天気も良かったので、クルージングからのサンセットはとても綺麗でした。
ワイキキの街並みの夜景も綺麗で感動しました。
花火の時は、クルージングが止まってくれていい場所で見ることができました。
ただ、少し遠い位置からになるのであまり迫力はありません。
5分くらいの花火でしたが、クルージングから花火を見ることはなかなかないと思うので、贅沢な気分になれました。
花火の後はショーは迫力もあってとてもよかったです。
最後はみんなで輪になって踊ったり楽しかったです。
帰りもホテルまで送ってもらえたので、楽でした。
チップは誰に渡せばいいのかよくわからず、結局渡せませんでした。
最初の集合だけ残念に思いましたが、全体的に楽しく満足できたツアーでした。

My father really wanted to participate, so I was looking for an event that was accessible on foot from our accommodation, and I was able to find just the right one.

At first, I hesitated because the dinner package was a bit pricey, but I thought it would be a great memory for my father, so I booked a Golden Seat, even though I didn't go for the Diamond option.

Since seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, I recommend lining up early. We were actually guided to the front row, where we could feel the heat of the flames and enjoy the show up close. It might have been a bit too close for taking commemorative photos, though...

I think my father was very satisfied and it became a wonderful memory for him.

This was our first cruise in Hawaii for our honeymoon. We booked a 3-star + option for a table for two, but the seats were really close to the ones next to us. I tend to get seasick, so I took some motion sickness medication, but it was quite rocky! I felt a bit nauseous at first.

As for the food, as many have mentioned, it was just average. The lobster was delicious, but my husband doesn't like the fishy taste, so he only ate the legs. I had to look up how to eat it on my phone since I didn't know how.

The interaction with the waiter wasn't great either. When I ordered a Coke because I can't drink alcohol, he exaggeratedly said "No!!" as if it were a crime not to drink. He was a cheerful waiter who spoke a little Japanese, but it didn't feel very enjoyable overall. He seemed to pay more attention to the English-speaking couple next to us and didn't ask us anything. When I pointed out that there was a bug in my husband's beer, he just said "Oh" and took it away without an apology, then brought a new beer and dropped it on the table without a word.

Because of that, the service afterward was also lacking. However, once we went outside, the night view was beautiful, and the final dance was impressive and fun. The stage during dinner was far away, so we couldn't see it well, and it seemed like it was just luck of the draw where you sat. If you were at the edge, you might not see the stage at all.

You can also see fireworks and the night view from above, but there was no explanation about that at all. I thought there must be people who didn't know how to get outside. Overall, there was a lack of information, and there were too few waiters for the number of guests. The food was average, and the service... I don't think it was worth the price.

The atmosphere was fun, so it might be worth going once! Whether it's enjoyable or not really depends on your perspective. If you want to enjoy a leisurely cruise, I think a 5-star option would be better!

3スター+オプションで2人席予約して行ったのですが、隣席とめっちゃ近いです。
酔いやすいので酔い止め飲んでいきましたが、本当にけっこう揺れる！最初少し気持ち悪かったです。
食事はみなさん書かれてる通りふつー、ロブスターは美味しかったですが、（でも旦那さんは生臭いのが苦手なのでロブスターの足部分しか食べませんでした。たしかに魚臭さ？みたいなのはあるので、苦手なひとは苦手かも）食べ方が分からず、携帯で食べ方検索して食べました。
ウエイターさんとの相性もよくなかったかなあ、、
最初にドリンク頼むときに、飲めないのでコーラを頼むと、大げさにノー！！と言われ、まるで飲めないのが罪のよう、、。日本語もちょっと喋れる陽気なウエイターさんでしたが、終始んー？とあまり楽しくなれなかったです。隣の英語喋れるカップルには何かと気を配って話たりしてるのに、こっちには何も聞いてこなかったり、、最初に持ってきた旦那さんのビールに虫が入っていて、虫が入ってる、と指摘するとオーと言ってごめんね、も無しに持っていき、新しいビールを持ってきたら無言でドンっと置いていきました。
そんなこともあったからかその後のサービスもイマイチ、、
でも外にでたら夜景は綺麗だったし、最後のダンスは見応えあって楽しかったです。
でも食事中にしてるステージは遠くてあまり見えず、どこの席になるかは運ですね。はじっこだったりするとステージまったく見えないんじゃ？と思いました。
あと上から花火を見たり夜景を見たりできますが、そんな説明は一切なく、これ外への出方知らない人も絶対いるよなあ、と思いました。
全体的に説明不足、ウエイターさんもお客さんの人数に対して少なすぎ、料理も普通、サービスも、、料金に見合ってはないかなあと思います。
雰囲気は楽しいので、一度は行ってみてもいいかな、と！楽しいかどうかは感じ方次第ですかね！
ゆっくりクルージングを楽しみたい方はやっぱり5スターのがいいと思います！

As soon as we boarded, we took our seats by the deck, and our spirits were lifted. Right after departure, the dinner plates were served, and the service from the waitstaff was excellent! They served with a lot of humor and a skilled touch. The food was filling, with lobster and steak. Even better were two things: the live show and the night view. The haka dance was amazing, and the night view starting from the sunset was captivating. I don't think I'll ever forget it.

乗船してすぐにデッキサイドの席に座り気分は盛り上がってきました。出航するとすぐにディナーのお皿が出てきますが、ウエイタースタッフのサービスの良いこと！ユーモアたっぷりにしかも手慣れた様子で配膳をしてくれました。料理もロブスターやステーキで満腹。それにもまして良かったのは二つ。ライブショーと夜景でした。ハカのダンスは素晴らしかったし飽きることのないサンセットから始まる夜景。忘れることはないと思います。

I was able to go to the Rock-A-Hula Luau green room package. I got to go explore backstage and get a tiny glimpse of how all the action happens. I also got to take a picture with Michael Jackson before the show. The staff and crew members were very kind and made sure that everything was to my liking. I described this show as a Luau like no other because it was a Luau with a twist. All the music were the classics from Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson with the local culture included into the dance routine and into the stage outfits. The show also featured a local girl with a beautiful voice. For those who would like to watch a Luau in cushioned chairs and indoors I would definitely recommend this Luau to you!

I splurged a little and made a reservation for a VIP seat by the stage. First, we took photos with the star (playing the role of Elvis Presley), then enjoyed some snacks while sipping Mai Tais at the VIP welcome reception. We entered our seats next to the stage through the VIP entrance, and started our meal from the menu in the attached photo. The show began around the time we finished eating.

We enjoyed performances by Johnny Fortuno as Elvis Presley, Corey Melton as Michael Jackson, and Siena Sousa (a singer-songwriter based in Honolulu), along with hula dancing by Rock-a-Hula dancers. The highlight was the fire knife dance, and we were thoroughly entertained in the best seats, leaving us very satisfied. Initially, I thought it was a bit pricey, but after receiving a 10% discount, I was very pleased with the experience and the content.

On my first trip to Hawaii, I wanted to see an authentic hula dance show, so I booked this VIP course. I was excited as soon as I walked on the red carpet, and the welcome drink followed by dinner at the VIP seats was delightful. The lobster, along with the main steak and salmon, was satisfying in both volume and service. It was also great to be smoothly guided through the VIP entrance.

The show started with a surprise when a man was lowered upside down right in front of us (even though I had heard about it beforehand). The hula and Polynesian dances were of outstanding quality, and I was captivated by the professional performances. The dancers were incredibly sharp! The impersonations of Elvis and Michael were very well done, and the songs were perfectly suited to our generation (in our 60s), allowing us to enjoy the show from start to finish. The fireman show, where they handled flaming torches, left me in awe—how could they hold those?! I was overwhelmed the entire time.

I also purchased a photo taken with Michael, which became a wonderful memory. I would love to come back to see it again when I visit Hawaii next time.

マイケルと一緒に撮った写真も購入して、とっても良い思い出になりました。また、ハワイに来る際には観にきたいと思います。

We used the all-you-can-eat crab course with our family on the last night. After checking in, there was a dance welcome for those who arrived early. Once on board, the floor varies depending on the course. It can be cold inside the ship, so a jacket is essential.

Salad and bread are available from the start, and there’s no specific signal, so everyone can begin eating at their own pace. Many people finished eating before the ship started moving. After the ship sets sail, crab and steak are served. Once you finish the crab, they will add more to your plate as needed. Wet wipes are also provided.

The sunset coincides with the serving of the crab, so if you want to take photos, be careful not to miss it while enjoying your meal. Dessert is served during the dance.

As others have mentioned in their experiences, I personally don’t think it’s necessary to sit by the window during sunset since you can go outside to take pictures. I enjoyed the sunset even without a window seat. If you have a rental car, you won’t need a shuttle. Parking is free for the first two hours (I think) and costs about $6 afterward. Please note that only credit cards (VISA or MasterCard) are accepted.

Just in case, I took motion sickness medication, but there was hardly any rocking. The dance time was also very enjoyable, and my family said the interactive dance was the best. If you have time on the last day, I think the cruise will make for great memories.

他の方が体験談に書いてあったように、サンセットの時間は外に出て写真を撮るので個人的には窓側にする必要はないと思います。
窓側でなくてもサンセット楽しめました。
送迎もレンタカーがあれば必要ありません。駐車場は最初の2時間(だったと思います)無料で6ドルくらいです。
クレジットカード(VISAかマスター)しか使えませんのでご注意下さい。
念のため、酔い止め飲みましたがほとんど揺れはありませんでしたら、

ダンスの時間もとても良く、家族は参加型のダンスが最高だったそうです。
最終日、お時間あればクルーズは良い思い出になると思います。

I used this service on the last night spent with my whole family during our honeymoon!

The ship was magnificent and the view was amazing! We were greeted with a hula send-off before boarding! The buffet was the most reasonably priced, but the amount was more than enough!! The taste was really good too!

Additionally, there was music throughout the show, and we were able to participate at the end, which made it enjoyable! It lasted about two hours, but the time flew by!

Everyone seemed to have a great time and it became a wonderful memory!! Maybe next time we could try a higher-grade course?

I went during the fireworks on Friday, but the cruise was farther from the beach than I expected, and the fireworks looked quite small from where we were. If you’re expecting to see big, beautiful fireworks, you might be a little disappointed, just like I was.

I participated in the cheapest buffet, and it was okay, nothing special. However, the show was in a small room where the dancers basically performed one by one, so it lacked a bit of impact. The dancers were lively, though.

Also, if you tend to get seasick or motion sick, you definitely need to take some motion sickness medication. I was fine, but some members of our group were out in the night breeze the whole time.

金曜日の花火の時に行ったのですが、思ってるよりも浜から離れてのクルーズであり、花火がかなり小さい感じでしか見れませんでした。
花火が大きく綺麗に見れると思っての参加は私と同じでチョットガッカリしてしまうかもしれません。
ご飯は1番安いビュッフェでの参加でしたが、まぁ、それなりと言う感じでした。
ただ、ショーは小さい部屋でダンサーが基本的に1人ずつ踊るって言う感じだったので、迫力的には・・・って感じでした。
ダンサーの人はノリが良かったですけどね。
後、船酔いとか乗り物酔いする方は、確実に酔い止め必要ですかね、自分は大丈夫でしたが、メンバーの中ではずっと夜風に当たってる方もいました。

I attended Rock-A-Hula for the first time this past week and it was really entertaining! I went with a couple friends and we chose the Green Room Tour. With this package we were sat at a stage-level table so we were closest to the performers. The three course meal included lobster, beef tenderloin, salmon and was completed with a yummy mac-nut pineapple gelato. The cocktails were really good, my favorite was the lychee martini! It was really fun to be able to take photos with Michael Jackson before the show and they also offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. The show was very exciting and entertaining; my favorite performer was the local artist Meliana. All of the dancers, musicians, and singers were very talented and seemed like they all had a ton of fun up on stage. Overall, it was a great night and I would recommend it to anyone on vacation wanting a fun and entertaining night out.

First, before entering the venue, I enjoyed stylish drinks and snacks. I was surprised by the luxurious atmosphere from the start!

During dinner, I was delighted to have dishes like lobster and coconut ice cream that made me feel like I was in Hawaii. At the show, I got to see the hula dance performance I was looking forward to, along with songs from a rock singer. The hula dancers each showcased their unique and captivating styles, which was a lot of fun. The most memorable and exciting part was the songs and dances of Michael Jackson. On the way back, I even got to take a photo with Michael Jackson!

I was very satisfied with the luxurious dinner and show! I highly recommend it if you come to Hawaii!
