Dinner on a boat... I was a bit hesitant because my children are small and I was worried about seasickness. However, the large ship and the welcome dance got the kids excited, and we set sail. The view of Aloha Tower, the large container ship docked in the harbor, Hilton's Rainbow Tower, the hotels in Waikiki, and the distant Diamond Head thrilled the adults as well.

As the buffet began and we settled down for our meal, the dance show started. It began with a hula that guests could participate in, followed by beautiful music with women performing hula, and men showcasing powerful hula, dancing several songs. We ended with everyone singing and dancing to YMCA, which was a big hit. I wondered why this song, but it was impressive to see all the guests smiling and having fun. Perhaps it's because people from various countries know it?

As for the food, there weren't many options, but the flavors were more familiar to Japanese people than I expected. The main dish, roast beef, was tender and delicious. My 2-year-old enjoyed white rice, yakisoba, vegetables, fruits, and cake, and was completely full.

The sunset was beautiful, but since we were in the middle of the hula show, be careful not to get too caught up in the performance and miss taking photos!

しかし、大きな船とウェルカムダンスなどで、子どもたちのテンションも上がり、そのまま出港。
アロハタワーや、その港に停泊していた大きなコンテナ船、ヒルトンのレインボータワー、ワイキキのホテル群、遠くに見えるダイヤモンドヘッドなど、見える景色に大人たちも興奮気味。ビュッフェが始まり、食事も落ち着いた頃にダンスショーが始まりました。 お客さんも参加できるフラから始まり、ステキな音楽に合わせて女性のフラ、男性の力強いフラ、何曲も踊ってくださいました。最後はYMCAをみんなで歌って踊って大盛り上がり。なぜこの曲なのか？ですが、お客さんみんながニコニコ楽しそうにしていたのが印象的でした。いろんな国の人が知っているからかな？
肝心な食事ですが、それほど種類はありませんでしたが、思っていたよりも日本人には馴染む味でした。メインのローストビーフも柔らかくて美味しかったです。2歳の子どもも、白米、焼そば、野菜、フルーツやケーキをいただき、お腹いっぱいになりました。
夕日はとってもキレイに見えましたが、フラショーの真っ最中なので、ショーに夢中になりすぎると撮りそびれてしまうので注意です！

He was so enthusiastic and pointed so many amazing things to see in the night sky. My favorite was seeing Saturn! The GPS telescope was very impressive.
It was a beautiful location to learn about the stars, planets, and our solar galaxy as the sun went down over the horizon.

Among the various OP tours I participated in, I felt the most anxious at the meeting point. This was because there were two large buses lined up, and a huge crowd was waiting, with Japanese people clearly being the only ones there. The departure time was approaching, and I wondered, where is the pick-up? I thought it was unlikely, but when I went to the front of the first bus, it turned out that these two buses were indeed heading to Paradise Cove. After presenting my voucher and confirming my name, I took a seat in an empty spot, but unlike everyone else who was excitedly chatting with the guide's fun explanations, I felt out of place. Still, the guide, who distributed cards usable within the facility, tried to explain using the translation function on their smartphone screen. After passing Waikele and entering the Ko Olina Resort area, we reached a famous spot for wedding photos! We crossed the tracks of the tourist train, and soon arrived. Participants lined up to receive welcome drinks and had their photos taken one group at a time (you'll get them back on the return bus!). Until the show started, we could enjoy ourselves freely. The traditional luau, which I was looking forward to the most, featured various dances one after another, with scenes for audience participation. Although I couldn't understand the host's talk at all, the other guests were having a great time. Not only Hawaiian dances but also, probably? Polynesian dances were showcased, and the climax of the fire dance at night was impressive and moving, even from the side seats. A few days before my reservation, I received an email saying, "We were unable to prepare the optional cake and wine." (It mentioned that they had called several times, but I was worried about high communication costs, so I only lived on WiFi.) I had made a high-priced reservation for a cruise plus cake and champagne to create wonderful memories on the day of the ceremony. Yet, to have a mix-up in arrangements... I was disappointed; it wasn't just about the refund for the cake and wine. There were only a few replies, and then no response at all. As a result, I couldn't enjoy the cruise and just ended up having a meal... It's surprising that such things can happen.

It was a crab-all-you-can-eat course, but they didn't bring the crabs quickly, so I couldn't eat much... I was disappointed about that as well.

We took a sunset cruise on a pretty nice boat. Each meal was served in a different venue on board, allowing us to enjoy our food while watching performances by the crew, including singing and dancing. It felt more like a dance show than a sunset experience. They really got the party going!

I used it on June 28. I go to Hawaii every year, and this time I stayed for 8 days, but it was only sunny for a day and a half. Even though it was the dry season, it felt like Japan's rainy season. That precious sunshine was during the cruise on the Honolulu. This was my second time using it, and since I upgraded my grade, both the food and the seating were wonderful. I want to use it again!

Best stargazing on O'ahu

If you're in Hawaii and not heading up Haleakala or Mauna Loa, this is the best stargazing experience you can get (in my still limited experience). Greg took us through the solar system and out into the Milky Way, showing evergreens like Jupiter and Saturn together with more exotic objects like supernova remnants and binary stars (including a spectacular yellow and blue pair). Great!

We attended the 21:00 show in mid-July - dark enough, although the almost full moon did make things complicated when objects got a bit close to it. On the flip side though, getting to take pictures of that moon with your phone through the telescope lens at the end provides a great souvenir! Our seven year-old also really enjoyed the show.

Initially, I was worried about whether I would be able to find the meeting point, but when I arrived at the gathering place, I was easily guided to the bus. They had a sticker on their chest, and after boarding, I received a natural flow of guidance from the Table Mountain tour to the hotel. I thought it was a well-organized tour, especially since it operates daily. The cruise was wonderful, and I enjoyed watching the dance show up close; it was friendly and fun. The meals were plentiful and delicious. Although the ship was large, it swayed more than I expected, so having motion sickness medication might be a good idea. The floors were separated by grade, and I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't access the floors of other grades or the top floor. However, it was very well managed, the sunset was beautiful, and it was a satisfying tour.

当初、待ち合わせ場所の迎えはちゃんと判るかなど心配だったのですが、集合場所に行くととても分かりやすくバスに誘導してもらえ、胸にはったステッカーの飯盒で乗船後のテーブルマウンテン案内から降りてからのホテルまでのバスの案内など流れに乗って自然に誘導してもらえて、毎日運航しているだけあるきちんとしたツアーだと思いました。クルーズも素晴らしく、途中のショーも間近でダンスを観られて、フレンドリーで楽しかったです。食事もボリュームがあり美味しかったです。船が大きいわりに思いの外揺れるので、酔い止めはあったほうがよいかもと思いました。グレードごとにフロアがわかれており、ほかのグレードのフロアや最上階に入れなかったのは少し残念です。でもとてもうまく運営されており、夕日も美しく、満足のツアーでした。

The boat is quite large, but for those who are prone to seasickness, it's better to take medication. I realized that I need to study English more since there were no staff who spoke Japanese. The Hawaiian dance was amazing. Both the men and women were very beautiful. They were kind, and I felt a sense of family. It was the best!

We booked a 1-star package with transportation, guaranteed private seating, commemorative photos, and a city lights option.

Upon gathering, we were given stickers based on our booking, which we attached to our clothing as a marker for boarding.

We were seated at a window-side table for two, but since it was on the port side, we could only see the ocean during the first half. On the return trip, we would turn around to view the city of Honolulu, but since the show had started, we didn't have time to enjoy the scenery (laughs). We enjoy having drinks with our meals, but the welcome cocktail included with this course was sufficient, and although we considered ordering additional wine, we ultimately did not. The waiter also did not encourage us to order more.

The two types of meals we ordered were served on one plate. Since my wife does not eat beef, we had requested a change to the chicken and fish course, but I received a plate with beef and chicken, while my wife got crab and fish. It was a mistake, but the combination was still edible, so we went ahead and ate it. I had low expectations for the meal due to previews mentioning the taste was mediocre, but it was actually quite delicious. The portion size was just right. Saying the meal was not tasty is an over-expectation; it’s better not to dine outside of top hotel restaurants.

After the meal, we had some time to enjoy the view before the show started, but since we had taken our time eating, we didn’t have much time left. The show took place among the audience rather than on a stage. I think it would be more enjoyable for families with children.

We returned to the port around 7:30 PM, and afterward, only the city lights participants were taken by car to Tantalus Lookout. We had a good view of the city of Honolulu and saw a decent night view. However, since it’s not a very large city, it doesn’t quite reach the level of a spectacular night view. If you participate, I think it’s best to go with the mindset of just having a story to tell about your trip to Hawaii.

食事は注文した2種類がワンプレートで提供されます。私達は妻が牛肉を食べないので、チキンと魚のコースへ変更をお願いしていたのですが、私の所にビーフとチキンが、妻の所へカニと魚のプレートが置かれました。間違っていましたが、この組み合わせは食べられなくはなかったので、このままいただきました。
食事の味はイマイチとのプレビューがあったので期待していませんでしたが、十分美味しくいただけました。量も丁度いいくらいでした。
この食事が美味しくないというのは、期待し過ぎと言うものです。一流ホテルのレストラン以外で食事しない方がいいでしょう。

食事の後、景色を楽しむ為にショーが始まるまでしばらく時間をとっていますが、私達はゆっくり食事をしていたため、あまり時間がありませんでした。
ショーは特にステージなどがあるのではなく、客席の中で行われます。お子さんなどがいるとより楽しめる内容だと思います。

19:30頃に帰港し、その後シティーライツ参加者のみ車でタンタラスの丘へ。
ホノルルの街が一望できてそれなりの夜景が見れました。
ただ、それほど大きな街ではありませんので、素晴らしい夜景とまでは行きません。参加されるなら、ハワイに来た話の種に行ってみるくらいの感覚でいいと思います。

Chief's Luau - Polynesian Show with Authentic Award-Winning Fire Knife Dancing

I took my daughter and her family to this Luau and I am so glad we bought the Royal package. It was great. We were right in front and the dancing was great and the Fire dancing was fantastic. I also liked the fact the they involved you in different activities. Food was great also. I liked the fact they will stay and take pictures with you at the end with your own camera. Overall I would definitely recommend this Luau to everyone.

During our first trip to Hawaii, we decided to sign up for a Hawaiian show. We went in early June, and since it was in the evening, the sun was still shining when we were shown to our seats, which were directly in the sunlight. There was nothing to block the sun, so the seats that weren't in the shade (the ones directly in front of the stage) were extremely hot until the sun went down. Fortunately, we were seated in a shaded area, which was a relief.

The meal was a buffet, and since many people were going to get food, I was a bit worried about whether there would be enough left. However, it turned out fine. (There was a system in place where the area for getting food was determined, and you couldn't go up to get food unless you were called by the staff.)

We enjoyed the event even from our seats that weren't directly in front, and the dancing was wonderful. The male hula dancers were incredibly impressive and surprised us.

On the way back, we were able to take photos with the dancers in the lobby, which made for a great memory for us, as we had never seen authentic hula before.

行ったのは6月上旬、夕方からなのでまだ陽も落ちてなくて座席に通される時間帯は日差し直撃。
特にさえぎる物もないため、陰になっていない席（ステージ正面席）は陽が落ちるまでは暑さ地獄。幸運にも横っちょの陰の席だったので助かりました。
食事はビュッフェで、かなりの人が取りにいくので「残っているのかなぁ～」と少々不安ではありましたが、大丈夫でした。（ビュッフェを取りにいくエリア順が決まったいました。ボーイさんからそのエリアへ声がかからないと勝手に取りにいってはいけない仕組みでした）
イベント自体は正面席でなくても十分に楽しめましたし、踊りも素晴らしかったです。男性フラが迫力満点で驚きました。
帰りには、ロビーで踊り子さんたちと写真が撮れましたし、
一度も本場のフラを見たことない私たちにとってはとても良い思い出になりました。

The lobster and steak were incredibly delicious! It was fun to see the show up close. I made a reservation for Friday to see the fireworks, and I was glad I could enjoy them from sunset to the fireworks. Since passengers gather heavily on one side of the boat to watch the fireworks, it seems best for those who want a good view to secure their spot early.

It rained during the day, so we were indoors after it got dark. The location is a bit hard to find, so it’s better to arrive early. I reserved a golden seat, but it was positioned too far to the side from the stage, and the angle was blocked by equipment like speakers, which was a bit disappointing. It was a buffet style, but if you miss the timing, there can be a long line, and some items run out quickly. I read in other reviews that golden seat guests had priority, but it seemed like regular ticket holders were the first to grab food, and we followed after them. The taste was generally good.

夜にはやみましたが日中雨が降ってたからなのか室内でした。場所は少しわかりにくいため、はやめに行った方がよさそうです。ゴールデンシートを予約しましたが、ステージからサイドすぎてスピーカー等の機材で遮られてる角度で少し残念でした。バイキング形式ですが、とるタイミングを見失うとすごい行列で無くなってしまうものもありました。他のかたの口コミでゴールデンシート優先とありましたが、普通に一般席の人がいの一番にとっており、それの後に続いた感じでした。味は普通に美味しかったです。

It was enjoyable to listen to stories about traditional Hawaiian plants in the garden of the Bishop Museum. Although I was a complete beginner, I had the valuable experience of taking hula dance lessons from a qualified instructor while learning the meanings of the songs. At the end of the hula lesson, I asked our guide to take a video of us dancing on my smartphone, and they kindly agreed.

After the hula lesson, we did lei making. The string part of the lei is also woven from grass, and we insert flowers at the end. Since the flowers wilt within a day, I stored them in the refrigerator as soon as I returned to the hotel and wore them out that evening. While I can't bring the flowers back to Japan, I can take the ring part without the flowers (customs is fine with that; it seems they microwave it before use). Once back in Japan, I can dry them and preserve them as dried flowers.

I planned my trip to coincide with the fireworks on Friday. The package included a one-star course, a window seat, photos, and transportation (with one Mai Tai per person included). As soon as we boarded, the meals were hurriedly served, and we just dove in! We took photos at each table before the meal, and we received them before leaving. My husband and I finished our meal early, enjoyed some hula, and then quickly went outside! We leisurely watched the sunset and anxiously awaited the fireworks (laughs). Waikiki gradually transformed into a night view, and the fireworks were truly moving!

金曜の花火に合わせ旅の日程を決めました☆コースは1スター、窓際、写真、送迎付き(1人1杯ﾏｲﾀｲも付いてた)乗船するなり慌ただしく食事が運ばれとりあえず食す！って感じ(^^;写真は食事の前に各テーブルで撮って頂き帰る前にはもらえます。私達夫婦は早々と食事を済ませ、ある程度フラを堪能したらすぐさま外へ！サンセットをのんびり眺め花火が上がるのをソワソワと待つ（笑）
ワイキキが徐々に夜景に変わり打ち上がった花火は感動的でした☆
